In my eyes T3 is an dead end since over an year. T3 atm kills the rest of the fun you actually have gotten. IoJ is just the last victim, I have lost the interest in wvw and in the game itself. All these threads about the un-matches doesn’t bother anet, they closed the threads without an real answer, just waiting until one player is going to be off-topic. Even if anet would suddenly care about it, it is too late for my ex-server ioj.
There are no excitement about the addon. I’m not going to waste any more money in this game.
Eotm.. the so called WvW test map.. where nothing gets tested or introduced.
Delete the kittening thing already, and while you are at it delete WvW.
If I remember me correctly, eotm was published to reduce the complains about the queues? I don’t see anymore complains, so eotm is ready to delete from the game. Anyway, the loot is really trashy. In almost 2 years I’ve played, I’ve got 3 ascended rings, less than 10 exotics armors and weapons, but I’ve received already more than 6 sieges commanders spoon (exotic level) since they were released weeks ago. But fortunately I don’t care about loot.
WvW is more fun in a wvw guild, but how long will a guild exist, when there is nothing new or only changes for more frustrating match-up’s? Anet wants to earn money, that’s their legal right, but I can’t see, what they are planning for the future of the game. The wvw is the best thing in gw2 imho, pve is after the second toon just boring. When I compared this with other games, where the armor (bought for real money) decided who will win, not your personal skills or famous highway to the pvp-boss-npc to win the match. They have a real treasure here, but they don’t want to see this.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I’m frustrated…
Little push from site 8. I think, the enemy player has a unfair benefit from this bug.
Hmm, good idea with better rewards.
wtb shards of zhaitan for badges to finish my legendary. I hate dungeons, you get these dungeons currencies even in pvp, so why not in wvw?
I don’t like the idea of ppk, but I could live with no white swords, if we get instead the radar turret. The ppk are only good for T1 or stacked servers with no timezone gaps. Maybe you could test them only there, and of course please test this idea in T8 to see the diffence. Before a roll-out of all servers, make both Tiers to a playground for your devs
.
Most of the players can’t decide on their own where they have to live, ppk punish people to be on a server and play against one where they have no enemies. Why should they play further wvw or the game, when their support is lesser worth because they live in the wrong timezone for others?
To the original topic: I was dissappointed that ioj didn’t get any dev, but after reading the post where we had played against servers who had ones makes me really sad. Sometimes I think anet hates ioj. Yes, I know this isn’t true, but after playing this game on the same server since over 1,5 years with the ups and downs after feature patches (e.g. season 1, suddenly changes of the leagues, same high transfer cost for silver league midtiers season 2), it feels so. Just to make clear, I don’t demand anything or begging for attention of a dev.
After reading the posts about YB, I wish them all the best. The reactions of the T2 servers are surprising me really. Good luck Yak’s Bend, I liked the matches against you, even when ioj had no chance.
2) Shout For Help
Make it easier for outnumbered players to coordinate and fight together by providing more communication. Treat commanders from the outnumbered server like a POI and have the minimap point players to them. Popup an event when a player from the outnumbered server gets into combat. Try to provide some of the communication an organized WvW guild would.
With the megaserver in pve, the wvw players have lost LA to ask their pve crowd to help them. Today an asking in a map channel would be nonesense or counterproductive. Based on your ideas I would add a server warning that your server needs you, if you are outmanned or lay behind the other servers. During Living Story Season 1 we got messages in the wvw maps for the pve event. So, why not use that in the opposite direction?
Then all the troll needs to do is buy a commander tag. They can then go into your carefully sieged garrison and despawn everything, wasting the blueprints used to build them.
An active commander tag will attract people to come to his place. The troll won’t be alone anymore, and with a good report/ban system it could work. And if its a low level, he has to spent 300g for doing this, now. Anyway, the trolls will always find new ways to hurt a server.
I was about to toss out the exhaustion idea altogether because of the legitimate concerns of small groups that a good number of you have brought up but this post gave me another perspective on it. I’m going to merge some of the ideas you guys have put forth into a new iteration on the design you and I have been working out.
Here is the new proposal based on your ideas:
Siege DismantlingYou DO NOT get exhaustion from placing siege
If you own a piece of siege:
There is a skill on the skill bar called “Dismantle” that will drop the timer down to one minute
If you do not own a piece of siege:
There is a skill on the skill bar called “Vote Dismantle”
If a piece of siege gets 5 votes:
The timer on the siege drops to 5 minutes
The player who placed the siege gets a stack of exhaustion
In this proposal this is the only way to get exhaustion
When a siege timer is reduced to 0 it is dismantled
All siege that is dismantled drops 25% of the supply it took to construct…
I could live with that, maybe with a small correction to a time system which is based on the actual wvw server population and time frame. If there are more people (enemies excluded) on the map then it needs more votes in a shorter timeframe.
I thinks it is mainly a tier 1 -2 (maybe 3 too) problem with their 24/7 fights, so any exhausted system will hurt lower tiers with their defenders during their offhours.
My idea is, that the commander (only) is allowed to dissipate (not sure if this is the correct word) the unwanted sieges. The wasted supplies would go back to your owned keep or tower if it was placed there, but not in the openfield and not to the player.
I don’t like the idea of debuffs for building sieges, that will only hurt defenders, not the trolls.
I find this very pity. It was these small things which makes the gw2 charming and let people stay. I doubt that is too confusing for a new player, they can handle it, I’m for sure. Please bring back the wolftonic.
And … we have the right to say “this cake is a lie” after there is no pie available anymore: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Farmer_Eda
It’s definitely chinese. After 4 years living in beijing, I recognise the form, but I still don’t know how to pronounce it.
Like Zaxares, I would prefer if I could farm the scraps directly. Or at least to get a higher drop chance for clothes with the tailor.
At the moment I got tons of metals and leather item , but rarely a cloth item, when I’m playing with my light armor classes. If I want to farm silk, I have to play with my heavy armor classes. That doesn’t make sense for me. So, I welcome the changes.
They should have something like:
Chicken Mode You have taken the easy way out and must walk this map as a chicken.
Once enabled, you are transformed into a chicken for 10 minutes and move 50% slower but are able to map. You cannot see your allies or enemies, you cannot see chat, you cannot chat, you cannot whisper, you cannot see upgrades, you cannot see sieges, you see the bare bones of the map and nothing more, and once mapping is complete or the timer runs you are kicked from the map. Chicken Mode can only be used once per 6 hours.
I like this idea, and I would like to add that the wildlife can attack you, because as a chicken you are looking delicious to the hungry wolf.
On a good day, the daily quest could finished in WvW within 10 minutes. Conquer a defended tower, when champion, player kills, conquer tower and something with conditions/dodge/veterans is in the list , visit the laurel trader or buy something for you badges and you daily is done. I hope this will be still possible in the future. Sometimes I’m doing the daily quest only in pve and it takes forever in my eyes.
I don’t know if that was the same eotm match or not, but yesterday we were with our guild in eotm on the green side. Our weekly match-up is boring, no enemies anymore in our timezone. In this overflow match everything was almost blue.
All I can say : Sweet, sweet lootbags and a shocking moment, when I realized that the zerg, more than us, saw us and ran straight away to a npc boss.
IoJ had run once with a anet member, Shyyrel (I believe) was the ingame name. Haven’t seen an anet tag for long time since then. It was nice to have an Anet member running with the zerg, and of course to protect them and especially kill the anet tag on the enemy servers
.
Mounts CAN’T BE PUT IN GW2, because(wait for it), WPs/portals are the means of travel and ANET would lose one of their gold sinks becoming all but useless except for beginners, those that wouldn’t be able to afford them and those who don’t want them.
I’m not so sure about it. When you are riding between 2 spots, you don’t earn anything unless you start a fight.
But for the goldsink there many solutions: Maybe maintenance fee or fuel for mechanical mounts and for the living mounts you have to pay a monthly fee for the food and stable. And of course you will have to pay a lot of gold to get one.
Personally I would like to have both: a mount for each race and the easy waypoints. The mount doesn’t need a permanent speed boost, from time to time a sprint would be more than enough, maybe stick on the endurance, like the dodge.
But I don’t expect to see mounts in the near future, and I rather like to see new playable zones, and not a living story again. Mounts are not necessary at the moment.
Until now I enjoy the tournament, at first the fights with FA and SBI, now with CD and SoR. I thought there are no people on SoR, but they still have enough for a big blob and they still know how to fight. We had to remember our people, that SoR was once a T1 server and that there are still experience players on it. If SoR could somehow manage not to end on the last place of the tournament, I would be happy for them.
All combinations of Healing Power, Toughness and Vitality.
My female elementalist handles with fire, I need a fireproof armor for her safety. Luckely, Mhenlo’s Armor and the head armor from the order of whisper let only her face free.
Seriously, if anyone would like to run in Victoria’s Secrets armor he/ she should do, but I would like to have more covering and beautiful armor
.
I never had expected to get a precursor, I’m doing wvw most of the time, got only once an exotic and twice ascended rings there. The day before I got one, I was making jokes about complaining people who are chasing a legendary, buying sieges with all of my badges of honor, upgrade them to superior sieges and put them into the guild bank.
Next day, I have open a chest in Scarlett secret chamber and I found the Legend. Every other precursor I would have sold in the trading post, but this is the only weapon I would take.
I hate dungeons…
Crafting: It would be nice to have a redirect to the receipt of the missing item, instead of scrolling through all receipts or writing the name in the search window. Also a button to close all item categories would be useful.
- What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
Skill lag, rubber-banding, disconnects
- What server are you on?
Isle of Janthir
- Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
Yes
- Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
Yes
- Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
Yes, it has started with the Battle of Lionsarch-patch. Usually there is no Lag when I’m playing on the weekend until 12 am (UTC+8), after that it’s generally unplayable for a few hours, it starts with skill lag → lag →rubberbanding → freezing → disconnects→ can’t reach Log-in server. Sometimes it depends on the map/region. On one map you can play without problems, on the next one you need 10 minutes to get out of the map.
If there is a zerg on the map, there are no problems in citadel, but at the moment I I reach the zerg (30+) or he has reach us, I can’t do anything just waiting to see me dead on the floor (wp don’t react) until I got my disconnect.
To be fair, if I have these problem on every map (pve, pvp, wvw), then it is also a problem of the internet infrastructure in the country I live.
Problem is that now when transfers are free players transfer those servers that have best chance win tournament.
Yes, the best example is HoD at the moment. They have 4 queues during the week, which I believe no other server (not sure about FA) has in the silver leagues. The worst things are the fixed gem prices when the “tournament” starts. Transfering to HoD will be still cheaper than transfering to any other server.
I really wish they would change the price weekly, according to how the server has finished the weekly match and how many new people the server has gotten. I see the point that the lower server in the league need support to have a better chance against the higher tiers, but this price politics turns a “fair” tournament to the opposite in my opinion.
IoJ is without a doubt one of the nicest and most open communities out there, with no significant drama at all.
Here is a proof.
If DB really wants to Silver league, they should send their evening karmatrains to holiday for the next 2 weeks. As an IoJ-member I would rather see them in silver league than FA. (I can’t believe that I wrote this). I saw once that we had beaten their zerg, so I believe ioj can handle DB.
The 4th week with BP and YB. Yeah, it’s getting boring. Reminds me on DH/DR-matches over weeks. If we could only see the names of the other player, then might be the matches funnier.
