And syncing goes back to gw1 Random Arenas. And those syncers were sync reporting people with reports that add dishonor stacks that everyone wants implemented. It is a feature that will be abused again.

We’re working with custom support to get additional reporting functionality. Adding a stack of dishonor for being reported isn’t off the table either.
I believe this was a feature present in GW1 pvp, which was in my opinion, worked very well. Glad to know it might be considered
A feature that was also abused a lot for false reports. Especialy by Syncers.
Well playing with new members in party can be depressing yes and in a 5 man match you can not do miracles. But by reading your posts I think problem is in your as well. By statements I tell them what to do, ping on map, I carry them, when they listen to me we win easily.
it reminds me on games when I have such players in team and mini map is just spammed and spammed and people drawing stuff only god knows what it means. A lot of times it confuses me so much I just do not know what to do anymore and for new players it has to be even more cofusing.
Ussualy such players also like to blame the team instead of doing their best and try to make a comeback.
Maybe my opinion is wrong but if you are such a player try to leave other people to do what they want and focus on your game. It is good to give some guidelines during game or tell that buffs will happend but too much information does more harm than good.
And yes ranks are pointless if people got them in hot join 8vs8 or skyfarm. There are also some people with multiple accounts and people playing only spvp who have low ranks but high skill.

Symbolic did it even life on stream with a new account on NA – he played different classes and “tested” builds and was like 11-0 or something and was NA #1
some people could do it legit
but
i know 2 ppl for sure was sitting in teamspeak all day (same channel) and played like 10+ games all the time on same maps, same time started/ended and they are in top 50 now, i even made screenshots and i know they are for sure no top 100 playerz^^
but – relax guys, they work on a better system and you cant prooof anything so dont call people exploiter for just playing the game
I think people should think about this whole “new account” thing a bit more deep.

New account resets your MMR something other players can not do. I think that is an advantage as such. I am not saying these players are not top or something but people trying to defend them ussualy do the opposite in my opinion.
Hehe “Pro” players had no goals and went inactive. But still plaid a game now and then for fun read “reset decay”. And now when decay became more aggresive they suddenly found fun in pvp again playing it a lot more often.
They abused the system in one way or another. If not by getting there by syncing then by staying there by not playing. Even DEVs are not hidding it.
Totaly unbalanced map. Bad design to begin with.
Same problems than in Raid on the Capricorn. There you have water with OP classes and here you have whole map with OP skills.
- It does not look like skyhammer farmers will get their ranks stripped anyway.
- Legit players acctualy had harder time climbing leaderboards because people on top/bottom could sync.
- Whenever someone says “you will climb to top again” I just think to myself why don’t they just wipe the whole game. And make everyone make new characters again. I mean you lvled up once you can do it again.
And I did not find system that broken except for those 15/0 streak people up there. Most matches were hard and now and then there was one 500:20 score game.
I plaid some hot join yesterday after a long time since i am waiting for those ToT bags to go away. I am not sure 8vs8 really has any pros.
- Gameplay is still bad even with recent changes.
- There is so much AOE spam that 8vs8 just makes it worse
- Most people run arround in glass builds or OP builds which make dps huge.
- Marauders jumping arround who barely know how to 360 degree turn their character.
I am not sure if this is due to Glory farm or simply hot join being WvW zerg gameplay.
- When these players finaly decide to do sPvP they use zerg tactics where they just run arround all 5 killing what they find or chase it until end of game.I do not think new players benefit from 8vs8 making it easier for them to learn pvp. I would even say it is harder. Instead of learning how some decent player teleport stomped you, thief used pistol to apply blind or how you should rezz your temmates. Every downed player is just AOE spammed from enermys and allies. And then you have 3 downed players on each side on a point and it just matters which one dies first.

and please stop blaming 8 vs 8 hot join servers for your bad experiences in solo arena.
Nowhere in my post was I blaming anyone for “bad” solo arena experience. Zerging strategy is not bad in sPvP and can win games if your team does not know how to play against it. The question was if someone can give any pros to why 8vs8 arenas are good and you gave nothing execpt some people enjoy them. They can also add 16vs16 and 32 vs 32 arenas and someone will enjoy them but you said nothing on why 8vs8 is the best maybe 6vs6 or 10vs10would be better.

This thread just reflects how bad human nature is. People are asking for a reward which if it will happen will probably be some title (that most wont even use) or 5 turney win reward chests with no affect on other players what so ever.
And yet people are crying how unfair that would be. It almost fells like Anet would be giving out 1000$ to everyone on leaderboards.
And whinning because some players got reward for QP months ago ? Really ? I did not even know they did and from my experience until now I doubt it was anything gamebreaking. Probably 1g worth of stuff for 1st place.
Noone will lose anything if they give out rewards and some will get some minor reward.

I report them. And whisper them that I did. This way next time they see me they keep their mouth shut if they do not I report them again.
I dont mind people cursing I get mad also during pvp it is a competitive game. But I say it out loud in real life calm down and move on. I dont verbaly attack people and ruin their gaming experience.
You can also put them on ignore if they are too anoying.
Based on past changes and Anet’s general nerf policy I would strongly advise against stockpiling chests.
Most players in PvE can tell you at least one story of how they stockpiled something for weeks/months only to have it nerfed into oblivion before they could open it. The most recent examples are the gauntlet bags and the champion boxes.
Players lost out on 100’s of gold in loot and coin by stockpiling chests. Take my advice, open them now.
We are not stockpilling chests because we beliave we will get rich with them we just hope that will happen. But the true reason is they are simply not worth opening. You just get some skins you have to salvage to get dust and orbs that take up your inventory space. The only fun thing in them are und dyes that drop now and then.
And can someone explain why everyone is praising team arena lederboards and bashing solo arena ones.
To clarify with information you’re probably already aware of, Solo Q is considered in a more broken state than team Q because of the way matches are created. In Solo Q there’s a huge propensity to pair the top 5 players in the Q on the same team and the bottom 5 players in that Q on the opposing team. This isn’t the case in team Q since in team Q you theoretically create your own team.
In my opinion that’s the main reason there’s so much antagonism towards Solo Q. Although some would also say that the lack of coordination compared to team Q make solo Q a joke, but I personally disagree. The only qualm I have is with the lopsided matches.
Could be true yes. But many people are forgeting that because of such broken system many are on giving side (especialy if you are a syncer) and it is funny how they say stuff like “i know it is wrong but it is so much fun to play with friends” since you have team arenas for that and you also have to realize 5 players are always on the taking side of bad matchmaking.
I think team arenas are broken with the ability to join them without a full team. The reason that is even possible if probably the small playerbase pvp has.

Yes.Actually now that i think about it this makes perfect sense.It is perfectly clear that Arenanet decided to rework and reset everyones ranks and ladder system because some ranks 189923 and 209387 exploited to get 189922 and 209386.Thank you for opening our eyes.
I’ve climbed to top 100 on three seperate accounts (reaching rank 1 on na lol) without sync queueing. There’s even a vod of my 11 games to rank 1.
I am not sure that the fact you use as many accounts as necesarry to get on lederboards is a good response to that accusation.
And can someone explain why everyone is praising team arena lederboards and bashing solo arena ones. Since people can join team arenas alone or in pair and quite many are doing that. If you have a decent premade team with premade builds and voice chat you should have little problem winning against teams who are made from 5 random people who have no voice chat and random builds. I have guildies who dont even have a solo arena lederboards but have hundreds of games plaid in team arena which they joind alone or in pair.
If there will be rewards good. If there will be no rewards also good. I would just like someone to explain to me why Team Arenas are so much better than Solo Arenas. Because so many people are saying “you should reward team arenas lederboards but definitely not solo arena”. Even if so many Team Arena “Champions” come syncing to Solo Arenas which is the reason the solo leaderboards are a joke in the first place.
And when will Lederboards become relevant ? I mean it is fun to see you are ranked and stuff but unless there will be some titles, capes, rewards or something for top ranks they are pointless anyway.
Also maybe it would be smarter to show lederboard ranking at end of match instead of ranks.
I agree with above posts that game is too random, fast and too much spam.
Here are a few situations that happen quite often to me:
Skyhammer Thief: Stealth + stand on pressure plate use scorpion wire when plate gets shattered. You basicaly have to watch those plates all the time and hope you will dodge, block in right time. And if you do, hi will just keep doing it until he gets you off guard. Maybe the pull could be slower ? so you have time to use stunbreaker atleast since it has 1200 range.
Engineer can shoot you off point/cliff with a range of skills which all look the same. You can try to pick up a pattern but in the end it is all about luck, since you try to predict when he will use them.
I think Guardian hammer skill 4 is a good example of how skill should look like. It is slow enough to see what will happen and fast enough to cast you off guard.
I also think that showing what skill player will use and increasing cast times would improve the game. Because when necro does his skills, i just have to guess dodge. Well he will cast something but I have no idea what it will be.
In GW1 almost everything had casting time of 1 sec, even interupts were 1/4s cast time. GW2 is just much more confusing and a lot of time you do not know why you died or why you got rezzed.
As a primary bunker guard I like this change a lot.
Now you can acctualy pvp without worrying about tagging kills, standing on capture points at kills, play support class in hot join, get points even if you cap a point at start and just hold it for whole match…
You can think about the game instead of how to get most rank points.
Also it is right that you get more points for playing turneys since it takes more time and skill.
The thing needed next are better rewards and rankings based on ladders, but in my opinion this patch today was great for pvp.
To those saying that PvP needs rewards to keep people interested, I direct you to games like Counter-Strike, Quake, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat, games with the biggest scenes in eSports history, NONE OF THEM HAVE REWARDS.
Rewards aren’t necessary in PvP, I don’t play PvP because I want to get some new shiny item to show off my rank, I do it for the competitive nature of PvP and I enjoy that greatly. I’m not saying that we can’t have rewards at all, but they’re not a requirement.
I plaid UT 99 competitive for years and people still play it now, also Quake, CoD etc …
I didn’t play for rewards since there were none just for the gameplay.
But this isn’t FPS but a MMORPG, and when you play such a game you expect some rewards, progression etc.
If you play solo tpvp now it is like one big family because you know everyone after 10 matches. Lack of rewards isn’t bringing new players to pvp and the number of people playing only for the sake of competition is obviously quite small.
In GW1 being among the best PvP players was quite prestigious, capes, platinum, items, emotes, ranks that acctualy had a meaning. They had the coolest stuff.
And I think that is why gw1 had such a strong PvP community despite having 6 pvp modes, they were all full.
In my opinion removing the clear distinction between PvP and PvE and introduction of cool PvE rewards is the only way to bring more PvE players to PvP.
Since the whole skyhammer glory farm that made ranks pointless. A lot of players started showing off their skill by pinging “match win reward chests” but now we get ToT bags.
And now PvE players will come to PvP with their stacks of ToT bags like “look at me i am pro i got 50 000 ToT bags” ;D.
So it again fells like pvp got overrun by pve x).
Also they can not be opened in pvp area

I was very happy to see ToT bags drop as a reward in update notes. But i didnt expect them to replace reward win chest.
I think that is a fail since 10s reward after 10-15 mins you spend for tpvp is a bit low and you also have to win.
I think you should make either reward:
ToT bags + Reward win chest
or
Make reward win chest drop festive stuff
they do make a diffrence but if you bought 10 000 at 63 copper and sold them at 90 you made about 13 gold in 2 days. There are a lot of easier ways of making gold than this. But if they acctualy do get a fancy receipe they can hit 10s and profits will be huge ( I think that 400 rare ingredient deserves atleast 10s price).
I am a long term investor so most of things I do take months and occasional 1 day flipps like recent t5 and t6 price spikes. In the mean time i make money playing pve so i guess in the eyes of daily flippers this seems more of an attempt to make quick cash.
And i agree there are other things with potential. I myself have invested in a lot of other items as well.
I think people are overreacting a lot with “you stockpilled a lot you just want to make people buy”. Yeah that tactic had its golden age at the start of the game with people buying thousands of BL chests, pumpkins … basically everything you posted on forum. These days you can make such posts whole day and it will barelly scratch the market.
I also stockpilled a lot of putrid essence because they remind me of Ancient bones, they also were at some time 33 copper selling ot TP, they are now at 20s+. So it seems that Anet tries to find ballance and putrid at this time is not balanced at all. Now putrid can go up drasticly in 1 week or in 1 year, noone knows that is why it is called speculation but i think it has potential.
PvP has a 100% monopoly on all new changes to skills/traits, 100% say in which classes get nerfed atm…PvE& WvW players have no say at all on how there characters get changed. Skill/traits/nerfs are currently applied across the entire game even through they are balanced only around tpvp…
Sure the content updates is vastly in favour of PvE…
Finally, PvP players can adapt to the new changes in 5-10 mins, because there trait/gear is 100% free. PvE and WvW players could take months until there equipment is spot on again, it will also cost loads in gold/BoH/dungeon tokens/laurels.
I think PvP should start paying for trait changes with gold and a gold cost added to new equipment, so they pay the cost of balance too…

I have almost 85k glory at the moment on my account and i can not make 1 Silver from it. So with what exactly should pvp players pay for trait changes ? With for me useless cosmetic rewards we get ? I have even after 8 months same looking gear on my war that I started with because looks mean nothing to me. And noone caring for PvP ? If GW1 woudlnt have great PvP which you could play for hours and not get bored with and also nice rewards you could use in PvE I would never buy GW2.
And that is the problem why PvP is weak in population. Not much fun and poor rewards.

We are a casual social PvE oriented medium sized guild. But lately more and more of our members have been looking to expand into the PvP tournament scene.
We are looking for casual PvP players that want to do organized matches. We are already playing Tournaments with up to 5 members on almost a daily basis but are strugling at some points to get enough players to make a full 5 man team.
