However, thanks for all the fights we had. It was an enjoyable week, at least during our raids, although we’re still a bit rusty and had a lot of tough opponents!
To be fair, Piken just has a lot of the usual fair weather players that come out once you completely dominate a matchup and bolster the numbers of your karma trains. They aren’t necessarily blobbier than anybody else. For the most part they just seem very eager to get some action. You see guilds holding hands from our side as well – it’s not a prerogative of tier 1.
Special thanks to MYA for some good fights this week (although most had a lot of adds and backstabbing from both sides). It’s good to see you in nice shape and running with decent numbers.

A shame, i was looking forward to fighting you, although i don’t quite understand your admiration for an off-peak, map-hopping karma train.
Edit: Also, sorry to MYA for leaving you on gh border yesterday. There was no way we could have gotten a fair and good fight there. Thanks to everybody who delighted us with their presence on Abbadonns border and eb (Yes, we have the luxury of being able to almost freely swap maps in this matchup. Praised be the blow out matches and the lower tiers!)
I do remember one of our piken weeks when we fought against SFR: Barely any commanders during off peak, few pugs etc.
It’s just the normal effect when dominating completely. We’ve been there as well against servers lower than us.
Concerning FURY, our perception is a bit distorted since we end our raids about 1-2h later than most piken guilds. That means that we are bound to fight against those giant late night trains that are very well organized, disciplined and have players from all major guilds in them (same goes for AM). I really miss the days when kill-hungry, glass cannon, underleveled rangers were the backbone of a zerg…
Also, please don’t be overly concerned with us. A lot of us are stuck in boring jobs and these forums are a key factor in keeping us from falling asleep on our desks. We may not be the best warriors in the game, but we certainly strive to be the best on the internet.
Actually it’s still possible to get some good fights during the ~2-3h that guilds raid. The karma trains after 10pm are where it usually gets scary and i’m glad we went back to silver league.
Thanks for the fights to GoW and SWD for the fights, although in some fights we outmanned you by quite a bit.
P.S. to all the piken players that bring their underleveled, naked alts (despite me not really noticing many upleveled) to wvw due to the boredom of this week… Why don’t you just leave the karma train/?
Guys QQ for Piken blobbing is pointless you are fighting rank 3 server with that will come unbalanced coverage, big open raids etc
Funny is that mostly come from Fury which running one of biggest groups we saw in lower tiers and can copy with any guild raid from high tiers. So now you can taste how others feel when have to fight outnumbered. Just get use much you can PPT is not important at all but you can test yourselves in open field against other large raids.
You are right in regards to piken outnumbering us naturally.
That being said: We run 25 during the height of our raids, 15 during the last one or two hours. I’m not quite sure what makes you assume that we haven’t fought outmanned before or that we would overly care for ppt.
Our posts so far have been trolish in nature and weren’t even against blobbing in general (although the karma trains in the afternoon were huge), but to make fun of a specific situation.

well you remember the raid system on piken lol signing yourself up on a border which not many other guilds have signed up for to guarantee you a place on a border xD so i guess it will be pot luck we will get drawn to the same border as you haha. fingers crossed we do.
You can usually find us on GH border. By the looks of it, it’s a safe bet for some good fights this week.
The tone of our posts is easily explained by the fact that reset against high tier servers just isn’t fun. Good guilds running together means that we are forced to team up with another guild to beat you (i hope that INC forgives us). It’s not how we like to play.
However we still had some great fights, even though we are slightly out of shape. Reset makes even the best of guilds crazy for the points. Let’s make the best out of this week (why can’t the leagues start sooner?)

After fighting weak servers week after week, slowly we’re getting the hang of it again.

Basically i don’t care about gvg. Never did, never will. We’re in a position where we destroy bad guilds, but will just die miserably against Scnd, GD or you. I’ve accepted this and i’m just playing the game to have fun. I actually like the “normal wvw” in all it’s unfairness.
I don’t care if you have buffs, if you are more or if you are in a better position. We still try to wipe you. I liked the fights in the southern half of gh border tonight against the ag zerg. I am aware that we kittened up quite a bit and didn’t play amazingly. We still had fun.
If you want to fight us we’re having an event every night. This week probably mostly on gh border. I’m sure we’ll have some nice fights.
I do apologize for the video itself. This week was filled with seemingly random lag spikes, which made it next to impossible for the melee to look decent. We’re in the process of educating our beloved train in how to follow a leader that jumps around the screen.
Also please excuse the severe lack of jump dodging. He’s learning.
Hold on a second, are you one of these guys that hid in the invulnerability areas with your friends while outnumbering us? Or one of these that ran into briar while outnumbering us and pew pew’d from the walls? Or one of the 4 guys that chased me to the spawn and ran away once a second player showed up?
You should realize that after the karma train leaves nobody cares about your border. It’s just a couple of insomniacs looking for a fight.
Since the update i haven’t been in a fight, neither smallscale nor raid, that i could honestly say was decided by bloodlust. There wasn’t a duel where i lost or won with a couple of thousand hp. Our raids wipe because i make a mistake or players get caught out of position – not because of 50-150 stat points.
It’s a bonus that we haven’t asked for. We were doing fine without it and i can’t stand to have our victories spoiled by it.
I do believe however that the bonus is vastly overrated. On a grand scale we win because we nightcap the kitten out of you. If you have no players online the buff doesn’t matter.
Edit: Also, it’s roaming. Sometimes you get zerged. Get over it.
Well, we were leading PUG zerg today as well (we were low on numbers too and some GH guilds were blobbing in ROF bl where we started), it’s been a while since I had the dorito on. We got killed more than couple times as to be expected, I hope RoF PUGs learnt something in process tho :P And I admit that I killed us sometimes trying to move with PUGs like I would do with guild :P
Figured as much when i actually bothered to look at the map. It was just one of those “oh kitten” moments when we first saw your group and realized this might be a bit too much with 15 guys. Still had some of our best fights of the week tonight.
Sorry to TAG for joining the zerg on eb tonight. Your group was just a bit too much to take on our own. Gta dropped our numbers by quite a bit.
I have to admit that i feel pretty bad whenever we push on Rof side of the map, but at the moment we’re just desperate to get fights.
Also thanks to the drakkars that actually try to wipe us instead of dying while trying to get past us into the tower.
Yesterday on Rof border a mad scientist transformed the entirety of Drakkar into beasts of steel! These horrible dogs of war were made with the sole purpose of eradicating every last bit of human civilization.
It started as a fight against LC – a bit of innocent entertainment. The events that followed might shock people. We beg your forgiveness.
Nothing wrong with building siege when outnumbered, would be crazy not to.

Then again, the Drakkar zerg on EB yesterday and their love for siege at every corner was quite fun to watch. Nothing like the entire server ninjaing a wooden tower, laughing, building 3 ac’s and then waypointing out.
What my friend here tries to say: We didn’t have any intention to come to Uw and be stuck in a siege. There was a misunderstanding from my side, so i kittened up and we were stuck in queue for a large chunk of the evening.
To my knowledge the only time that somebody complained about blobs was during the glorious forum wars last night. When we were attacking nw tower on uw with 15 people and you brought your entire map to defend – we made the mistake of not being fast enough and trying to fight at a bad spot.
When Slay asked us for an open field fight and another guild + pugs pushed in – we made the mistake of being stupid.
Wvw isn’t fair. Everybody will try to get more people or hide behind walls once they got wiped enough times.
Then again, maybe you should try to fight outnumbered every once in a while? It might actually teach you something.
P.S: Good luck to Slay. I was looking forward to some rounds last night, but it seems there was a misunderstanding. It’s a shame that we usually we met you a bit too late in the evening and couldn’t put up much of a fight. Still, you were always up for a fight and i wish you fun while improving. See you again!
Edit: Thanks for all the forum warriors from uw and rof this week. You put up a good fight. Quite a lot of our core are on holiday, but still if any of you are up for a flame-gvg please contact me ingame. We are up for 10v10 night-capping, maybe a 15v15 double-teaming.
And while we’re at the end of the week: Gum, i hate you. I’ve never seen a guild that was so annoying and effective at defending. Have fun in the future!
So after a long night the last remaining dozen of us went to eb, looking for some nice fights. We were hoping for love, peace and a decently sized zerg like the nights before. Oh, how wrong we were.
A 50/60 man blob roaming around sm, tightly packed and following a pro guild! I couldn’t believe my eyes – some imposters stole the XxX tag and made a mockery out of everything the guild stands for. One of these scoundrels dared to taunt us afterwards with vile whispers.
Oh, how i miss abbadons! At least they were proud of their zerging and had manners! However i wish you the best of luck and godspeed in bringing these people to justice before any serious harm comes to this guilds reputation!
Edit: Good luck and a lot of fun to Rof in the future. You played it smart this week and were good opponents. Particularly TAG were outstanding. I don’t know of many guilds that had such great moral and would have continued fighting for like this. You are a true asset to your server!
The last few days actually have been quite enjoyable with a lot of good fights. All we had to do was not to go to underworld border. (You can quote me for recruitment or advertising.)

There is no need to apologize. You defend your upgraded keeps, build siege weapons and run supply – you play like anet wans this game to be played. You nightcap and get everybody into one karma train like you should do. You wipe, you bring more players, like common sense dictates.
You aren’t at fault, but i can’t wait for the next game to come out that features proper rvr where people have actual incentives to fight each other, besides the fun of it. I wish everybody best of luck and a lot of entertainment playing their castle building simulation.

Sooo, we have blobbing, doubleteaming and siegewars :P What is missing from the checklist for a good matchup thread?
I’m not sure my drunken late night ramblings were enough. Maybe we continue with pictures of each others blobs? Maybe screens of ac’s behind gates? How about we tell each other about our favorite matchups and how this sucks compared to it?
… Also not enough mentioning of golems! They are expensive and deserve more attention!
I get that i haven’t complained about bigger numbers at any time. I actually encourage everybody to get into a nice big group. Fighting abbadons was fun and challenging for us.
But we were running with 15 players tonight and all that was to do was to siege fully upgraded and sieged keeps. If we are forced to do this we might as well blob up and do it properly. (Also there were 5-10 fury and even less rage in the zerg.)
Edit: Yes, we use golems. Rams are impossible since there are superior ac’s on every gate. Same with catas and trebs. Trebing leads to countertrebing. … At least people have fun using omega golems and don’t quit because of boredom.
We started an open mic because we were tired of everybody running away and hiding behind their walls. It was a nice reset but it’s starting to get tiresome. Even then, we most of the time had equal numbers against uw and rof.
Small hint: you could at least start the breakout events on each others borderlands or take a camp…

I’m not sure what the point is. You want to talk about builds or strategy? Tell stories of your adventures? See videos of other guilds doing it? Feast on the tears of the ones that “got busted”?
You have to be a bit more specific in order to encourage a discussion, not simply throw a general term around.
I’m not sure what you want to discussed here. Most guilds that do this kind of stuff run the same builds and similar compositions anyway. It comes down to individual skill and communication.
When fighting against superior numbers, as Ragnar has pointed out, it always depends on them making mistakes. If a proper server blob (teamspeak, good commander, etc.) decides to trample over you in open field, there is nothing you can do to stop them.
There are hundreds of guilds that can farm eb pug zergs – it’s nothing special.
It’s a shame to hear about Arborstone. When guilds like DOVA or RCT formed a zerg you were quite fun opponents to fight. Good luck in the future!
We had some very nice fights against PUNK tonight. We missed a couple of players and classes in the beginning, but the battles where we fought you alone were definitely the highlight of the evening.
Also, great countertrebing skills from AOA. Destroying a treb deserves a lot of laughter.
Good to see that FSP woke up. Thanks to everybody that actually fought us tonight, particularly to AOA. for the intense and fun fights over bridge and middle island.
Also nice to see that you enjoy defending your eb towers. I don’t know why not more people share your passion for siege weapons and repairing. Keep it up!
