For Vabbi everything above 20 is blob, BT is not even close to Germans blobs or other top bronze league servers. We can paint green your border in this matchup esay as always (that’s why you have only 1 wp in your border). Theres actually some good roaming to be done here and we had great fights tonight. So, out of academic interest:
How do you motivate your people to stay on a fully capped borderland at 1am on a saturday evening in a tightly packed zerg? There’s nothing to do except chase one or two groups of five and occasionally recap a camp. Why don’t they farm dungeons , build siege at our spawn or have naked rave parties at the bloodlust points?

Congratulations to Drakkar for winning this week. Can we move on now instead of being trapped in this? Or could you at least do the favor and park your blobs outside of the spawns so we don’t have to move to get some fights?

I might have looked at the wrong windmill at the wrong time, then, after finding nobody, checked the wrong contact in my friends list and decided to go to eb. However CB killed 27 upleveled rangers that evening.

After this week i want to thank every guild that let us suicide into them, every zerg that chased us around the map, everybody melee train that picked me as a target. May all the people that joined the karma trains to pvd vabbi and threw blue prints on my body have a glorious future!

And Psy: Why did you come to this bandwagon server? Do you really feel the need to push it to tier 1 with your giant karma train? I know your plan to mass recruit every able bodied player on vabbi!

Because i don’t see the first half o this thread as particularly entertaining [Compare this to any thread including Sfr or Am]. For the most part it’s unoriginal and a bit sad. Primarily we disagree on the purpose of the game and how to find fun in it.

The other part of the thread is centered around certain new arrivals that after months of handholding or flat out getting farmed now come here to this blessed land and are actually able to kill low tier pugs (who are a lot less versed in large scale tactics).
@pacifist: I’m sorry if people aren’t appreciating you enough. Nobody denies that you are physically capable of clicking 14 buttons (in your case), even a monkey can be trained to do so. I only doubt that you are able to use them effectively.

30-30-10 is the most popular choice but by far not the only one. Since the nerf a lot of people switched to 30-20-20 with purging flames if there is a lot of condition pressure (eb pug zergs are the usual example).
Since he’s a pug he won’t have perma fury. ~30% is still enough to trigger EM reliably with staff and greatsword. [I don’t quite get why the self heal out of em is underwhelming]

Since it hasn’t been suggested yet you should give boon duration runes a try.

You have to understand that in their mind they are spartans fighting against the myriads of evil imps vulturing their points!

What i mean by “gold league playstyle” is that it’s centered around maximizing ppt. Not fun, not fights that teach you something and increase your skill. I can’t comprehend what pleasure the 20 guys take out of breaking off the zerg and chasing me down.

Yes, there are people that deliberately look for outnumbered situations in order to test themselves. I do agree with wvw being imbalanced as a game mode, but i don’t agree with players not balancing it themselves.
Yes, i do feel bad when outnumbering an opponent. I usually try to avoid these situations.

If you run on your own or are part of the group, why would you not look for the tough fights, the fights that you don’t believe you can win? These are the ones that will increase your skill in the end.

Edit: “Most players” zerg because it’s the equivalent of pve champion trains.

Also i’ll “QQ” over anything i like. Maybe try to take a complaint or argument seriously before demeaning it.

I’m quite aware of what to do against large zergs. The issue is rather that i don’t understand the motivation in becoming another server that tries to play like gold league. Personally i’m not troubled by vabbi getting stomped in points. I’m just baffled.

Its not only a little pathetic, its damm unoriginal and quite sad people have not come up with something new to QQ about, just for the sake of variety.

One side will always outnumber the others in any given battle, Deal with it.

Since you seem to be either unable or unwilling to understand the complaints made, let’s try it again in a simpler version:
Maybe try running in a smaller group than a zerg or a 30man guild raid in order to get a fight out of Vabbi.

The only group that i’ve ever seen try adapt to a lower tier opponent was TUP and i have to give them credit for that (funny enough that it caused one of the most stupid flame wars of all time).

I haven’t complained about blobs when i was fighting in what is currently gold and silver league servers. I’m simply disappointed that it has reached this tier as well.

All of this applies to Dzagonur as well of course. It’s just that the attitude of some posters from Ros is so disgusting that it’s hard to focus on anything else.

I’m not sure about the level of wvw on your server or the commanders you follow (as i assume you aren’t in a guild). Depending on whether you are restacking and healing or not you’ll have to adjust your build.

In general pvt for wvw is a nice balance between survivability and damage that allows for a lot of mistake, particularly if you use AH. Clerics usually doesn’t provide you with enough vitality to let you survive a good burst by any coordinated group. The maximum i’d go for is food + trinkets, which still gives you ~1000 hp.

To reliably proc EM you’d need a crit chance of 30%+. This would mean something along the lines of food + knight’s trinkets. A combination of EM and clerics will leave you very squishy and too low power.

I don’t think so Only played yesterday morning, and meet only RoS Players, since weekend is still very zergy with the Archievmenttrains still running i rather do something else.

But we have a Group of Warriors that all run a similiar but a bit different style so you probably killed one of our “Mini Vaders” :p.

Also somewhere on RoS is my Clone i think from CoS ? Nearly exactly my armor style only a bit different armor red and Weapon skins, so confusing that! Killed him with my Vabbi Charr Warrior once and it felt weird ^^

I do remember them from the times gh was lower in ranking and played more often against dzagonur. They are amazing and the warrior play gs/h to perfection!

For the whole discussion about the motive behind guilds transfers: Who really cares? Just seeing FRS, NP, and the lot being Billy Big kitten down here makes me want to raid again. But alas, gone are the days.

Edit: After watching the video posted in order to illustrate heroism and the like: Isn’t there someone, who actually knows how to play their class, can put down a proper rotation and doesn’t click the autoattack, that can record for you? Also, why all the pugs, Billy?

Vizunah actually is one of the nicest servers to fight. I don’t know what all the complaining is about. They have a lot of roamers, and we got more uninterrupted fights against guilds then against every other server.
There is barely any difference between the servers now besides population.

Thanks to the fights tonight against Bdv (i’m sorry if i got the tag wrong) at the choke towards the water camp. Quit the borderlands and went to eb to troll zergs soon after we realized the only group there was WvW who are slightly too big to kill with 5 people.

Just take all our whining with a grain of salt. There are people like me who just enjoy to complain. If we didn’t take any masochistic pleasure out of fighting outmanned we wouldn’t have transfered to vabbi.

Usually every roamer that tries to take out the backline of a zerg/guild knows that he’s playing with fire and that they’ll turn every second.
Everybody that tries to hold a tower against a zerg knows that this will either be a highlight video (look at thursday’s IMP video) or make you look really, really stupid (look at me in thursday’s IMP video charging and dying in a second trying to put down a wall of reflection…).

I do remember when back in the day people used to make fun of Riverside or Vizunah for “playing cowardly” (siege, blobs, running etc.). The trend has been a long time now though that every server copies this playstyle. The whole of silver league is worse than riverside ever was. Maximizing efficiency for the ppt.
The league system and the whole server glory kitten only reinforced the already existing trend.

Bronze league seemed like the last refuge for anybody that didn’t want to run in a pug blob or join a big wvw guild. Given the experience of reset and the afternoon where it’s just incredibly hard to find groups outside of the karma trains, this seems to have been a false assessment.

@Agrios: I can’t say that i remember DEX too well. For quite a long time we were too big for the ranking and server that gunnar’s was. It became a lot “better” after our excursion to piken. Rest assured that silver league now is full of blobs and guilds bigger than we were back in the day.

The zergs on reset were quite hilarious. I still don’t quite get the reason for the size of some guilds, the need for commander icons or the reason for some guilds to hold hands with the zergs against the mighty forces of vabbi.

However we still got a couple of epic fights. The guilds i remembered were FoF and Loot (Sorry, but we’re new to this tier). Thanks to them, the eb zergs and everybody that let himself get pulled away from his karma train!
At least we won’t have to run far from our spawn to get some fights!

We were running 3-10 people, which is probably the maximum we’ll get while here. It’s a completely different game after leading 25+ raids for so long and we made a lot of mistakes. Still, trying to figure out how much damage we can do and when we just have to cut our losses and retreat is lot of fun so far. It’s like learning a new game.

Edit: At least i’m not aware of any guilds that would move to bronze. Given the size of the zergs on eb that i’ve seen so far, even a 20 man raid would be total overkill.

Casual Bloodshed [CB] had it’s maiden raid tonight. It’s a lot zergier than i imagined it would be, but at least i had the most interesting fights in a long time. Time to build omega golems and night blob this tier!

WvW at the moment is just a bad joke. The lag and horrible performance just take the skill out of a game that already was way too focused on numbers. In the fights that we win i can’t be sure what actually led us to victory – skill or because the enemy couldn’t use any.

Playing like this isn’t fun. A part of Fury and myself will go for a roaming vacation on vabbi until this game is fixed again and everybody has their achievements.

Europe’s silver league has long queues during prime time. Hear my cry!

There was little to no guild stacking in gold league but rather an exodus of a number of prominent guilds to silver league. They didn’t stack on one server but spread out.

A couple of guilds recently went to bronze league. The problem with this is that above a certain size there simply aren’t enough enemies to kill.

Some nice fights against MYA tonight on Ag. It’s a shame that the game is barely playable before 9pm (small advice: Going 80% guardian is less effective that it sounds). Later on it wasn’t too bad and there barely was any lag against the ag pug zerg.

After the garrison fight i remembered what Votf was complaining about. A tenacious defense!

Why is every single complaint about queues reduced to american tier 1 problems? Every server in the european silver league (except maybe underworld) faces massive queues in all borderlands during prime time.

Just as an explanation: Devitz took a break and yesterday 4 guys from INC joined our raid. It was less than 10 tonight, but we still had a very large group. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

Your server handled our group quite well.

Calling it early due to people constantly dc’ing, being unable to log in or stuck in an eternal teleport around the map.
Until something is changes and anet fixes their game we’re cancelling our gvg’s this week. It should be a test of skill, not who can accomodate himself better to the lag. Let’s hope something changes, but we had massive lag while roaming with five players during the afternoon.

Yes, gvg have been confirmed already. Although given the amount of guilds that we’d like to fight we’ll have to decline some.
Overall some nice fights after the lag went down a bit. Then again by that time most of our players already left out of frustration or were stuck in queues. Bless the meta-achievement!

Sigh. You’d have to be extremely nitpicky to find offense in the comments where we thank and congratulate people for the enjoyable fights we got in a week against an opponent who plays wvw on a different level of skill than we do.

So this was the dreaded Vizunah?
I feel cheated. I was promised gigantic, stupid, squishy zergs! Where were the blobs of VSS that run around in circles without doing anything? Where were the hordes that were willing to get farmed by arrow carts? Meh.

Anyhow, thanks for all the fights we got. It’s a shame that we barely met any kodash outside of eb. We had some great fights against the (surprisingly) strong guilds from Vizunah and two very intense gvg’s. Good luck in gold league!

Some very nice fights against BAN, MOS and the couple of smaller vizunah guilds combined tonight on Vizunah and Kodash border. I’m still amazed at the amount of guilds and the amount of open field fights we get. Great practice!

Special thanks to WL for the gvg tonight. The counterburst at times was insane. Good luck in the future!

I’d like to add that vizunah pugs are of very high quality. I haven’t seen many true zergs, but mostly open raids. Even the eb zerg moves better and is more disciplined than a lot of guilds.

We had some very nice fights against VM on eb and WL on gh. Looking forward to the gvg on wednesday. If there is anybody else interested (VM or LNM maybe?) – we still have thursday available!

@LNM: The previous posters from my guild were angry because we have very different ideas about the size and conduct of guilds. I don’t really care how you play in tier 1 or what is necessary there. It seems strange that a good guild like yourself (that runs already decent numbers) would need to boost themselves with a commander icon.

Overall this week is a good reminder though why silver league will be amazing!

Thanks to VoTF for the few rounds at the windmill yesterday. Even if we had been prepared and in full force, the outcome have been the same. We tried some different approaches but it all failed quite miserably.

True I was tagged up in FSP for AoA event and had some pugs but most of us were AoA. We do were equal with numbers and its ok with me. I mean we had fun in there ^^ you kept pushing we kept dodging and using AoE ^^.
I saw players from my group dying but most of them were pugs.
Then TEO came to fight as well and that was almost an overkill.

Anyways guys I really enjoyed myself this night.

Fsp was just a bad border to be on for you tonight. The keep defenses and determination to port supply were just insane. Still had quite a bit of fun looking for the best kitten strategies. Relying on siege weapons has made us weak – Time for the hammer!

It happened to us in matches against every server we ever met. Neither Riverside nor Ring of fire like to lose an upgraded keep (especially if it’s the last on the map).

However i agree that the way capping a keep works is broken. Seeing the lord chain bannered is annoying as kitten and not fun for either side.
Then again it’s usually good loot. How many players have to die while salvaging for anet to realize that this is stupid?

Very impressive performance by Votf tonight. Haven’t been slapped around like that since, well, forever.

Please feel free to join in. Matchup threads are just a giant battle royal. Since you were on a french server i feel that your forum skills are a bit rusty. Best get yourself in form by calling out the guilds that you wiped, then proceed to post pictures of a golem rush and of an enemy blob. That’s how we international servers roll!

First, good job in identifying this troll. I was hoping for a proper flame war, but well, can’t have everything.

Second, i don’t believe that INC, or most guilds on gunnar’s for that matter, are particularly disappointed that they didn’t take a keep. My god, we lost bay on gh yesterday because we rather fought PUNK than KALE, who went to take the keep rather than help their comrades.
Then again, i’m happy that you take pleasure in points. This seems the overall attitude of fsp at the moment.

There are of course a lot of people that still care about ppt, but overall this server doesn’t have the necessary “pug infrastructure” to go any higher up. They’ll settle down somewhere in the bottom half of silver league – and it’s fine.
