I haven’t seen DRGN with any significant force. I see them running around EB in 1s and 2s, but never as an organized group. If they’re taking our players, they’re not taking the very good ones, imo.

But maybe their commanders are oceanic, or they stick to their borderland or something…

We play 8pm EST everynight but if you go to eb you wont see us organized there…yet, we plan on playing more in EB but IoJ has some eb dedicated guilds so we let them do what they do best. And we play in the BLs and we do jump back and forth to IoJ bl to stop break out events and pushes.

Lol I love all the hate Drgn gets for recruiting on other servers.

1) we have been on CD and FA recruiting way before we dropped to T3, we were trying to get guilds and players to face BG and SoR.(also SoR and BG have had people recruit on IoJ so stop acting that were the only guild that does it, your only mad because its not being done for your server)

2) We don’t annonce were an IoJ guild until someone that is interested PM’s the guy (its the same guy on every server) recruiting. Its not a welcome to our guild, and oh hey! You got transfer to ioj now.

3) As for him joining a guild and trying to steal members when officers are offline, do you have proof this is how it actually happened? Because I know that he has been invited to a couple guilds by accident and he just threw up the message and left. He also joind guilds that were hearing him out on why they should transfer. So if you have any proof he joined guilds to try and take members while officers are offline send it to me because that is kinda scummy.(can’t promise he will stop since I dont out rank him)

4) as I said it other threads don’t get mad at people recruiting from your server, get mad at the people abandoning your server. Instead of complaining, why don’t you try and get ppl from IoJ? I personally would be happy to lose the fair weather players that are willing to server hop.

5) I must state that what I say is not a representation of IoJ as server.

Well FA you guys really surprised me, after the first day I thought CD was gonna be the troublesome server but they seemed to fall off the face of gw and you guys popped up out of no where

well ive got a few a rares over the past 2 weeks and got a named exotic last night

(although I was a n00b and deleted/sold two pieces of my WvW armor by accident, and now have 2 pieces of MF gear on xD)

Its all good, FA puts up a good fight. im enjoying this week

Well it looks like IoJ is finally going to tier 3, its kinda of bitter sweet for me.

As TC WWW-er, I watched the IoJ & TC scores in the past weeks and this is NOT something that happened just because of the Wintersday event.

Our scores were getting closer and closer every week, this was comming. Trixx may have sped it up with two or three weeks, but it was comming anyway.

That being said, I expect TC to take a serious beating in tier 2, so we might be back in tier 3 fast

I was checking the scores everyday as well because I wanted to drop to tier 3, and every time I checked the evolution points IoJ would be going up in ranking because we weren’t getting destroyed and TC was going down because they weren’t destroying their Tier

haha it may have been all the shenanigans that have been happening in T2 but wheres the fun if the servers arent riled up for a fight?

also its funny that people think drgn is the only guild in all the servers that do this

and as I said before, and an earlier post proved that drgn was recruiting in long before we fell to tier 3 so its not that we sent someone to get as many from a server to cripple them before a fight just pure coincidence.

No we dont pay the one guy that does it, he does it on his own accord and we actually make fun of him all the time and as far as I know he hasn’t gotten a ban…yet xD

We also WvW every night at 8pm EST, feel free to drop in and see just how much fighting we do

although I agree free transfers should have been put to rest a loooong time ago, dont hate on the person recruiting from your server…hate on the people who are willing to leave.

make it a reportable offense, for what?? they arent breaking any rules.

I personally wouldn’t recruit from another servers in game but it is majorly different to an entire guild

• Transferring to your server
• Pretending to be your friends
• Gaining some good rep.
• Going on a mass recruitment drive offering to merg guilds and give officer positions * Merging 4 or 5 guilds to double your numbers (Which they posted they did.)
• All the while knowing your going to follow your old alliance to the server they went to.

They claim they didn’t know until 2 days beofre but all the evidence is there to show that is exactly what they did. The poll they put up to ask their guilds was described on our forums as “Who wants to move off IoJ?” with a 70% successrate.
An internal guy posted that poll which stated the question as being “Who would be willing to move off the server?” with only 50%. They then move to the server with their old alliance that had left 4 weeks before and that was right when there mass recruit merger campaign started.

Slightly different but still I can see how you must be frustrated with some of our guilds recruiting on your server. I offer you a combat to this, your welcome to fight fire with fire and come to IoJ to do the same as us and advertise in our W3 and LA channels.

I don’t think its the same…you’re clearly recruiting from other servers because you can’t find enough players on your own…what makes you think other people are going to come try to draw blood from a stone….

Losing decent size guilds on any server is a hit, regardless of what you want to believe (Especially on a primarily oceanic server like IoJ and losing a decent size Oceanic guild).

As for the “we have t1, t2 players just not enough of them” argument. I would venture to guess every server thinks their players are extremely skilled. The truth is, there are very skilled guilds and people on all tiers, the higher tiered servers in my opinion simply have better overall coverage then the lower tiers.

This would even out with the rankings if they didn’t allow transfers…(meaning servers with similar coverages would face against each other as the rankings leveled off) but as it sits now, allowing transfers causes major fluctuations in coverage essentially making the rating system kind of useless….

This is why someone like HIRE leaving IoJ, does indeed have an impact, probably more so than the event. Not saying you guys won’t be fine in T3, in fact it will be better because you will start dropping into tier’s where the coverage is similar to yours. Just don’t be so short sighted and angry that guilds chose to leave, i’m sure they felt like they were “Carrying” you and you feel like they weren’t “loyal” to the server….it seems to be how this game works with xfers.

I wouldnt say we are clearly recruiting from other servers because we dont have any of our own, most members we get are from IoJ and actually only get a very few from other servers, our GM is just crazy and has 6+ accounts that he wants to use for some purpose :P

we also cant judge how big of an impact HIRE will have untill after the event but, after running around with them a few times when they were out in force, I dont think it will be to serious

I remember wanting to join [Drgn] quite a few weeks ago when I saw a recruitment post and then I was sad that they weren’t on TC I was going to join but was not willing to server transfer, so I had to decline. But I was met with a friendly response after I said no thank you and explained why. I wish IoJ the best of luck in T3, and I cannot wait to see how TC is going to do in T2

Recruitment from other servers is something that Drgn has done well before I joined Drgn and ascended its ranks…we also were recruting from FA well before this upcomming match

Yeah they are all numbers game and attitudes of do it our way or the highway. We didn’t want to do it their way so they tried to poach as many before hitting the highway.

It’s all good we only lost a couple of decent people and even less decent players. Noticed by the fact EBay is still coming last even though 100’s of w3 dedicated have xferd there in the past 1 month.

When your recruitment strategy is to send “representatives” to other servers and spam WvW map chat trying to poach players/guilds from those servers, you can’t really complain about what HIRE did on IOJ.

I see your point, but there are a few key differences
1) Hire recruited ppl on IoJ to fight for IoJ then took them to a different server
2) that is only one guy recruiting individual players that dont mind or in fact want to leave the current server they are on
3) that is not IoJ’s strategy, that happens to be only part of Drgn’s strategy

he’s recruiting small/medium guilds for IoJ to be absorbed into Drgn….

When I spoke to him and he told me it was for IoJ I told him I didn’t think that was cool and wouldn’t be willing to transfer my guild to another server. He tried to insult me by looking at my roster and noting people weren’t representing and saying that was “sad.”

To be spamming our WvW maps with recruitment messages at all hours of the day the week before our servers face off is a pretty scummy. Recruit on the forums, not our wvw team chat.

It’s not just FA, either. They were the guild I was talking about on Maguuma.

No its not just FA but its all the same guy, and for recruting before our servers face is eachother isnt completly true, he was there well before we got kicked from T2.

But I must say that you shouldnt get mad at the people who recruited from your server, instead get mad at the people that decided to abandon you. (IoJ is not mad at EBay for takeing HIRE, were mad at HIRE’s parting words and the mass recurting they did before they left [it MAY OR MAY NOT be true, but it does look they intented to make their guild as large as possible before transferring])

I also agree with dis, get a character onto IoJ and try and take our players. Iike I said I wont get mad at you for doing it, just the traitors that are willing to leave

i think recruiting can be a crucial part to WvW, especially in regards to coverage time. i myself am mainly a PvE-er but when i get most of my “PvE” goals out of the way i plan to WvW more seriously right now, i delve in every so often and try to help out and learn as much as i can. i’ve seen people call out in LA asking for help in WvW. which i think can be helpful. however, what even MORE important is what happens on the BL’s and in EB after these daring PvE-ers decide to venture into PvP land as a server. do you remain by their side, telling them what to do? or do you just rush off and do your thing? not telling you to hold their hands, but give them a rundown perhaps when you’re calling out. explain the situation. RP a little even or at least give a background story. at least, THAT would intrigue me.

imagine if you convinced someone to go in. and they eventually DO. but then are just left alone. first time being in WvW< it can be daunting as you’ve no idea what to do, where to go.. so that just turns them off. especially if after someone invites them they’r ejust left there. so stick by them and affect a small group at a time, instead of just getting pure “numbers”. you can offer a show tell session in LA. announce it before hand and those interested can come listen and you can educate them. and hopefully, when they get in, and follow you and help you complete objectives and experience pretty darn fun PvP, they’ll be willing to come back. and through that, they’ll tell their friends ideally. and word gets out that your server and WvW is fun. and more than jsut about the rewards.

not saying that you don’t do this already, but i feel it helps. and in case you needed a reminder. ; )))

in terms of game-mechanics.. looking forward to the big changes coming for WvW and will see what ANet decides to do.

These are good points, and when I do have my tag up I try to throw humor in while explain why we are doing something. as for the show and tell, we have an aussie guild that does that and Drgn is going to be setting something up like that for NA timezone…we just forget a lot xD

The difference is that HIRE recruited ppl on IoJ as an IoJ guild and to stay in the guild they had to move servers.
Drgn recruited ppl on others server but it wasn’t “and oh hey were on IoJ you have transfer now” before they get sent the invite they are told we are an IoJ guild which they are okay with.

Also to Arcadio, that is most likely true since they did leave (although a lot of their members stayed on IoJ and formed a new guild) I also personally believe that the HIRE “conspiracy” really has nothing to do with this thread and should have stayed on our forums…there is also more info about this situation that you guys aren’t aware of.

In regards to fist, that is something they just started doing (which i forgot they did) but Drgn and Fist are in an alliance together and fist decided it was a good idea but our two guilds do not make, set, or speak for the IoJ W3 coalition of guilds

Blackgate also got 2-3 new Guilds, which is why many of us that played a lot last week are able to enjoy the PvE aspects of the game and the event.

So, many of BG is taking time off, its just we have a much stronger oceanic, so now we’re getting the points over IoJ.

It’s never a problem to go where you belong. IoJ had no chance of winning in T2. I personally would rather win in a lower tier than lose in a higher tier.

I guess IoJ is just mad that they no longer can get PPT when no one else is playing. I’ve yet to see IoJ get to +200 ppt this week and they only finished 2nd once. You simply don’t belong in T2. IoJ isn’t the only server that has wintersday going on. A lot of our guildmates have been gone doing PvE events because we had to pull longer shifts last week.

You don’t belong here. Make all the excuses you want, it doesn’t change that fact.

And I am well aware that IoJ isnt the only server with wintersday, but when we are ALREADY fighting out manned and then an event comes through and takes away our casual players and pugs, us getting bumped down to tier 3 is the result. (you even said that BG 2-3guilds which allowed you guys to enjoy the event, IoJ has not gotten any new guilds)

and if you would read my earlier post you would know that IoJ has been waiting to get to tier 3 because we know we dont belong in tier 2, but not because of skill…just simply numbers.

Also just mad we cant get PPT points when no one else is playing? who isnt playing? because if BG and SoR arent playing then your statement makes no sense if IoJ isnt playing…well then you just proved my point. as for 200+PPT we did, at the reset, then the wintersday patch came along and its been GG from there

They didnt realize why they get extra health during the week (baffling but true). Also when I go into in LA and try and get regular players into W3 I usually get laughed at and told its point less because there is no reward.

Its sad but true, victory and a good fight is not enough for some players. So my idea is that why not increase the rate of rare drops in W3? nothing to extreme but enough to get regular players in and get them to stop whining about repair costs.

One drawback I can see from this is players just going in to farm NPC’s but I know that if this was something that anet implemented, I would lead some people into those caves and kill the farmers :P

I invite you and your friends to Devona’s Rest server. We have great players base and we are in WvW to win and have fun. We are one of the least populated servers but our WvW numbers are incredible because most of our server enjoy’s WvW. We have great guilds all friends with each other. Really mature and fun player base. We would love to see more players like you. And one last thing we are really loyal to Devona gave oath to never leave it.

Because the scoring system is broken, and flawed. You gained points because the first place server (in this case Blackgate) didn’t win by as many points as they had previously. You will always gain points unless they continually top the score they win by every week. Which is impossible. With the current system’s lack of progression, there could be a server in tier 5 that’s as good as tier 2, and we would never know it.

Moving on, I had a lot of fun fighting IoJ, and hope the best for their server. Good luck in tier 3.

I agree the ranking system is flawed and ioj should have been moved to t3 a while ago, we just simply dont have the numbers to compete right now. BUT what was stopping bg from winning by X amount of points? the fact that IoJ was out there fighting you even when we were out manned. now this event came by and all our casual W3ers decided to take a break and farm choir bells letting all of IoJ territory be up for grabs.

As for Drgn recruiting on FA server, sorry man but that is out of my hands :P

will looking at the past matches (not including this one) the points were generally close so I wouldnt say either server dominated in tier…if one did they would have moved up

Well it looks like IoJ is finally going to tier 3, its kinda of bitter sweet for me…I actually enjoyed fighting out manned every night and still putting up the PPT and gaining ranking, but it will be a welcomed break from the same fight every week. Dont worry BG and SoR we will be back, just gona take a small hiatus.

I just wanna know if this is the same problem im having…I get my search results but the yellow loading circle just keeps on spinning and spinning not letting select what I want to buy. been going on for two days for me now and im really starting to get annoyed…annoyed enough to make my first post on these forums. Is this what is happening to you?

I was just in a group doing path 2 of CoF and magg bugged out where we couldnt start the event to gather the bombs for him. My party left the instance to reset it but when we went back in the instance was the same with magg still bugged. we also tried zoneing out of fireheart and also completely logging off and nothing worked eventually we just disbanded. any one else have this or similar problems?

Im glad they changed the LA loading screen….because ive been staring at it for 10 mins now -_-

Has anyone found any lore or eve? she is honestly the most interesting of the characters from guild wars 1 (imo) and I would love for a little more insight on her…something more then she dosent even know who her parents are and shes a strong necro blah blah blah
