Oh, I forgot to mention that I have recently “upgraded” to windows 10. I do not remember having any issues with stuff like this on windows 8-8.1

I’ve noticed that recently when I try to list/buy something on the trade post there is some bad latency for when I am change my listing price/bid. I would go to change the silver or gold and when i go to click in silver or copper area it registers as a click on the up arrow for the previously selected currency type. I would have to wait a good 5-10 seconds with the mouse hovering over the input box area before I could type in my desired amount.

This issue hasnt been bad, just annoying. However today when I logged in I double clicked an item I was had bid for to see how much the price has risen. And before I even saw the item prices it told my purchase was successful…so there goes 30g.

Now I know that you don’t have to double click (i went back and checked) to view the item in the TP. however my original buy order was still in the same place (top of the list) and when you click on it the mouse is no where near the Buy Instantly button.

I doubt that I will get that gold back, however the TP seems to have an issue with registering where the mouse is/event listeners triggering.

Without the need for doors, we dont need any keeps.

With keeps being redundant, all we really need is a single champion standing in a capping circle out in the open.

In fact, screw the capping circle and just award wvw points when the champ is killed.

Surely it will be fun.

Sounds alot like Hall of Hero’s from the first game…and I am actually interested in seeing a map like this.

(with restricted members on each side so it isnt 60vs60vs10)

Tanks aren’t coming, This game has no mechanics that would make tanking a thing that was possible. No way to hold aggro at all. And now we’ll get the uninformed saying they added taunt but taunt is just a backwards fear. It doesn’t draw aggro or threat. It just makes you run in a certain direction for a bit until hit.

Revenant can actually be a somewhat effective tank.

in Legendary Dwarf stance, there is a utility with no cooldown but 50 energy cost that gives a 2s taunt and slow, plus, its other utility skills are a condition removing heal (that grants retaliation), an AoE that causes weakness and grants you stability, anability with an upkeep cost that reduces damage taken by 20%, and the elite is an AoE that grants you an unspecified amount of damage reduction.

in its retribuion traitline there is a trait to make taunt last twice as long and make enemies deal 20% less damage whn under taunt.

there is also a trait that makes you take 10% less damage when under 75% hp, and a bunch of traits that rely on you being hit (endurance on hit, stability and retaliation on dodge, and a choice of either a self heal when you get hit, or to gain might when you get hit with retaliation)

it’s not a traditional tank, but it does rely on you being the one to get hit, and being able to recover or mitigate that hit.

It doesn’t matter how many hits you can take. We’ve been able to build massive “tanky” characters since launch that can take all the hits. But there is no mechanics for taking, holding, or maintaining aggro so tanking is a moot point. That is all there is to it. It also shouldn’t exist in this game because this game isn’t a trinity game. I just don’t get why people bought this game that was advertised as a non-trinity game and then instead of playing one of the hundreds of games with a trinity try to break this one by breaking the major reason most of us bought it.

Because it was never advertised as a non-trinity game. It was advertised as a soft trinity game. Where you could perform any role with any class. That is what we paid for and that is NOT what we got. Some people want what they paid for and some people are happy with mechanics that even the devs admit are fundamentally flawed to their own game design

This guy, I like you. I bought this game mainly because I am a guild wars 1 fan, but the soft trinity intrigued me and I thought “it’ll be weird to not have a front, mid and back line but it actually might be an improvement and allow for my versatility in builds. plus it can let people play they way they like to so awesome.” but in the end it all came down to dmg dealing, and the support necro I liked to play? yeah was just a hindrance to the team I was trying to support.

Right now its either get enough people to smash the boss where you can just auto attack and walk away. Or have everyone run zerk and kill the boss before it can do anything.

More class definition and importance on ways to help your team are a welcomed thing in my book.

What is a support necro? Aside from the recent vampiric aura thing what exactly can a necro provide as support? It is a very selfish class, contradictory to support in almost every way.

More importantly your support necro, if it was actually useful (it might be? I might be missing some necro stuff? Idk) is not a hindrance. You’re just trying to join meta groups. If you don’t want to play the meta then play the non-meta. Tons of people do it and they supposedly have fun every day. You’re the only person forcing yourself into a play style you don’t like.

You should be able to all dps, because it is meant to be a non-trinity game. And anybody that claims otherwise is seriously spreading some misinformation. just like you should be able to run 5 healers if you wanted to. The content would take forever and I don’t know why anybody would ever do it to themselves but you could get through the content that way. I’m not sure why some people feel the need to try and destroy the meta just because they don’t personally like it. DON’T PLAY THE META IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT. IT ISN’T MANDATORY.

early on, a “support necro” was a necro that specialized in DPS boosts and damage mitigation through conditions (for example, vuln vs might, weakness vs protection, blind vs aegis), condition management (eg, leeching party member conds), and boon stripping/conversion.

an interesting and fun idea that was stomped flat at the time by the meta being “4 warriors using GS2 and a mesmer to timewarp and skip as much content as possible” resulting in no groups that wanted them, and necros being hobbled by the condition cap.

+1 I didnt feel like getting into the specifics of the support necro, but you summed it up nicely.

Well as a support necro I ran condimangement skills like plague signet and well of power, trait for the well healing skill to pop when reviving people. among other things, but necros can give alot of boons and help keep other members clean.

And yes, I can run my support character with friends of mine. however if i want to pug a dungeon or something? ill have to go through a couple groups. Your idea for “just join non meta groups” is flawed in the fact that its meta for a reason…its what everyone runs.

as for forcing my self to use a play style i don’t like.. no. you are reading into what i said to much, I personally remember its a game and play it to have fun so if i don’t get in the group, I don’t get in the group. I am speaking in a more general terms for other players that do experience the pressure to play a way they don’t want.

Also, the “Destroying of the meta”? please, all I said was more class definition. Guardians have the highest toughness, so they should really be rushing in before the squishes . Ele’s have great AoE attacks and can CC like a motha kittena (etc, etc). Having a more defined class roll (while every is still capable of pumping out damage) doesn’t destroy the meta it prompts more group play than every one go pew pew and collect your (terrible) loot.

Can we recruit a sylvari?

For some reason Destiny’s Edge 2.0 is suffering from a racial imbalance with two human npcs and no sylvari. Unless Kassameer is actually a sylvari in disguise or something, we need to hire a sylvari to address this issue.

There are a number of notable Sylvari we could pick up. Occam, Canach, Laranthir, Trahearne, though Laranthir and Trahearne have class overlaps with Braham and Marjory.

I solve this issue by being a Sylvari, and I am the “Boss” so in my world, its all about the Sylvari.

I always thought this was a good idea, and they had this in the original Guild Wars.

That being said, they probably wont implement it, because you know, they want nothing to do with the original game.

Returning player...what to do?

So I took an extended break…like six months? I am not sure when it was right when the living story stuff started happening. Anyway, I wasnt planning on coming back so I sold all my kitten and gave it to my guild…well some of them convinced me to come back because of expansion and what not. My question is, what should I be doing? Can I still do some past living story missions? are running dungeons still not really worth it? how about karma trains?

Also, have there been any big sweeping changes to mechanics and what not that I should know about (im not gonna read through almost half a years worth of patch notes, just sayin).

Though I could look this information up on my own, anything in particular I should do to prepair for the new expansion?

P.S Im super stoked about the Revenant! pseudo Ritualist ftw!

Orbs of Power, WvW and...HoH?

Okay so I really miss the orbs of power (I know they were talking about reintroducing them but bare with me).

The problems with the orbs were as follows:

1)hackers/exploiters loved messing with them.
2)it reinforced the already dominating server.

Now, what if HoH (hall of heros for you non gw1 folks) was added to the game and that servers fighting in halls matched up with the three servers in WvW. Instead of getting the blessings of the gods, the server of the guild/group that wins gets boosts like what the orbs of power gave? and of course a nice chest full of loot.

Reasons why I think this would be a good idea.

1) if one server is clearly the favorite the other two can focus that group in HoH and make the playing field a little more even.
2)get more players involved in playing for the server.
3)it makes people work together
4)I am a gw1 freak and love my halls
5)possibly cut down queue times/give people something to do in those hour long queues.
6)????
7)profit

To the PK war who followed me off the cliff near the centaur camp in FA BL (as pk killed my poor yak) it was fun fighting you.

It made me laugh when half way through the fight we both kinda just stopped and went our separate ways when we realized that the fight wasn’t going to end xD

I probably should have capitalized on your low health when you fell from the cliff, but oh well. This happened around 12:30-1:00am EST time. feel free to hit me up if you ever wanna 1v1 again.

[Stab] is:

•plays for points/winning
•Anti-Guild Ranks (everyone has the same permissions as everyone else)
•Anti-PvE (you can PvE all you want, but the guild will NOT have any PvE buffs/guild missions/events)

[Stab] believes in:

Just want to say I had fun trying to sneak past TC and JQ to get into FA BL garrison most of the reset night…I just got my Mesmer to lvl 80 (mostly by crafting) so if you saw a really scrub Mesmer from Drgn last night…that was me But I did learn a few nifty hiding places in garrison

FA can you push north on TCBL please so we have a chance to reset one keep on TC instead you take the easy tower and defend with 3 acs. Push hills or north towers/camps. We will push as well os we make TC defend.

I was one of those calling the shots on TC bl today and we pushed in and took/defended that easy tower so we could push into bay…I assure you, those AC’s were for TC. and we did end up flipping bay so it should be easier for you now…and garrison. unfortunately a fully fortified hills is a lot harder to take

Stop your QQ and help your server.
Getting killed inWvW? Stop your QQ and learn your class.
Want to do it the easy way? Spend gold and transfer…legendaries are already a money pit, so what’s an extra bit of gold?

to the TFV guardian from DB, was fun fighting you at the db JP…was turning into a long fight xD. was sad that there was interference on both sides. but id like to 1v1 you again if your up to it. but if we do, I wont be set up as a pure support necro :P

Dear drgn, there’s a reason that’s a stealth spot only. It was fun knocking/yanking your raid off, though.

Lol yeah that was hilarious, we couldn’t stop laughing but I have to disagree that’s a stealth spot only though…most don’t stealth there because they are hitting siege on the dome. We were going for the mortor so sadly we got had to get dangerously close to the edge and we paid for it xD.

so we made 5 golems on Mag Bl…had great portaling from [AVTR] all the way from our spawn to sunny hill, golems start pounding on the gate and every single golem “misses” kitten bugs -_-. so we portal to garrison, get wiped with oil and other crap. had fun though tough fights on mag bl, finally took bay once commanders decided to communicate with each other

Legendary weps are just that…you should be good and participate in every aspect of the game to get one. WvW is part of the game so stop the QQ, if you dont want to help your server get the points just transfer. The paid transfers are going to be with gems so you can use gold. Just consider it part of the money pit that are legendaries

I made this post in the guild section forums but apparently thats not our official one xD and I rather talk to WvW guilds anyway :P

As a guild leader who left IoJ for FA ill admit that I had some reservations about moveing because there was some bad blood between Primordial Dragons and Fort Aspenwood but when we did make the switch we were welcomed with open arms. Any animosity between us just vanished, the second Drgn step onto FA bl as defenders instead of invaders the commanders whispered me and got me up to speed on the current situation/tactics were. The transition to WvW from IoJ to FA was seamless…honestly the worst part about transferring to FA is that I still get PMs from people welcoming us to the server xD

No, you’re totally right. I read this bit and I think I misjudged your posts tone which I clearly get now (now you know why i prefer voicecomm).

hold DBBL Bay against a larger than us FA and DB zergs who were not engaging each other.

I can tell ya though that we were definitely fighting DB. In one attempt, when DB started attacking your inner N door, we defended the outer breach for you We didn’t want DB to get any more players into the keep so that when they finally broke through and made a push for the lord—they wouldn’t have enough players to wipe FA and CD out. So we’d catch em in a sandwich and then fight CD.

Didn’t pan out though. We may have been too effective in killing DB’s reinforcements. The DB force that was attacking inner couldn’t breach it for us

I had a lot of fun working with RET last night and DB I have been bringing my guild to DB borderlands more then CD but mainly because I have fought CD for a couple weeks now and never had the pleasure of fighting DB…I just wanted to get a feel for what you guys are like

As one of the guild leaders that left IoJ I want to wish you guys the best of luck. I honestly hope that IoJ will find a place that they are happy with concerning wve and pve. I and the small guild I’m a part of (usually a 4 or 5 man) have been exclusively playing on IoJ borderland trying to hold a defense. Sadly, IoJ in general and the larger, zerg-ier guilds, such as DRGN in particular, seem to be completely allergic to proactively defending most days, so it’s always a struggle just to keep camps capped and siege refreshed.

Well for one Drgn usually does jump back to IoJ if its in trouble….in fact we did it tonight. We left CD bl because bay was being trebbed by CD so we came in and cleaned up, while this was going on FA ninjed hills and drgn when and took it back before the tick. Drgn is usually the guild that responds to IoJ bl when its in trouble.

That being said, have the BL in trouble means a large invader force. with fully upgraded keeps you should need a larger guild to come in and save the day, they are put to better use in the other BL’s getting us points.

Team Dolyak [DOLY], hosts a weekly event known as the Yak Parade. It is a three-server wide celebration of Dolyaks and Fun. It is a nice break from the usual WvW business. You need to join the guild to get the time/date/location of that week’s event, and the guild provides free transformative tonics for those who want to transform into dolyaks or othersuch creatures.

Our goal is to make a loop around the entire map and then have an epic battle.

I just want to thank FA for some good fights tonight in their BL. I am especially thankful of FA handing us blue lake….I was taking a group of players to go take lowlands and as we run run by lake we realize that both walls are down, we just couldn’t resist xD

Okay so I am pretty sure we can all agree that exploiting in W3 is something that needs to be fixed. However after talking to one the guild leaders on IoJ who have personally been in contact with Anet devs told us that in order for the ticketing system/reporting of exploiters you must show a cause and effect in order to get something done. For example, you must show in your screen shot or video the player actually doing the exploit to get past the wall or gate, and that person attacking the keep lord or getting a whole army in. So basically, our reporting an exploiter wont get that person banned but inform the devs of a possible exploit (that they already know).

With that being said I would like to get all the commanders/leaders from each server to have a meeting to discuss how we can police our own servers and bring exploiting down to a minimal. Because really in the end, it just ruins W3 for all those that enjoy a good fight

3) Our players enjoy or organization for WvW, a lot of people are calling our guild “trash” but I doubt those players have faced us when were in full swing, and the players have some one leading them (not just people left over form the nightly raid that wanna have fun as in the red lake incident)

I wanted to avoid saying this right on the heels of people calling you trash but when I’ve seen large groups of players all with your tag you die on the field before we’ve even had the reason to use fancy maneuvers. If I saw you trying to take bay from IoJ you were also fairly ineffective there, but my memory of that isn’t sharp enough to be sure that was your guild.

Speaking of, holy hell that was a lot of loot bags in the longview tower last night. I went in with my bags cleared out (as much as usual anyway,) but by the end I probably had a small arsenal laying on the ground while I just kept picking up stackable items.

well we are an IoJ guild so im not sure what you mean about taking bay from ioj? but also there is more then one guild on IoJ with the Drgn or DRGN tag (not exactly sure what one it is).

Hey! RET was in that BL with DRGN yesterday

We fought you guys in an open field… I have a video, but I haven’t converted it yet. I can do that tonight if it’s a really hot item.

We were walking to Foghaven when, due to culling, I think both sides just walked into each other on accident. We turned and hammered the first group pretty hard, but it drove a knife right down the middle of a train of players coming in from Garrison. We downed/killed 7-8 on the initial hit and started the push back to garrison, but another group came down from Hills and started picking up the dead where we left them.

30 seconds later, we were surrounded on both sides, culling all around. I should have pulled us out, if I was watching my minimap I’d have known we were fighting two fronts. Alas…

We tried to get them to fight a second time by setting up trebs at Foghaven to hit the keep. It was a reinforced wall, so we figured we’d just hit it until they came out to kill us.

Not so. They built counter treb after counter treb until we gave up -_-

But all-in-all a good fight. I look forward to Fighting DRGN again… but hopefully not on the BL where your spawn points are literally -everywhere- :P

After we decided no one was coming to kill us at Foghaven, we started raiding camps and got this fight:

so im confused, red lake (which is on IoJ bl so it wasnt our break out event as pending said) but what treb, was it a treb from hills? or did they manage to build one right in front of your spawn? either way if it was on hills, then that goes to prove that they didnt really know what they were doing attacking when the wall wasnt down. if they built one in front of your spawn then they didnt get stomped as the OP said they did…which you also prove by saying you needed reinforcements. Now if they were smart enough to wait for the hills treb to take out your wall and they got killed going in, well larger forces have been destroyed using the choke points in a tower

I would love to respond to this post, but I have no idea what you are talking about, and I am assuming you are pretty much just another great result of ‘open recruitment’.

haha thats cute, but ill say it in a more simple fashion so you can follow.

you said a treb killed your seige, I was asking where was this treb because I was not on when all of this happened.

IF the treb was at hills and the group tried hitting the gate or wall before the treb took down your wall, it shows that the group was not organized.

IF they managed to build a treb in front of the tower, then drgn did not get stomped as the person who originally made the post that we have all been quoting said. (you also proved that drgn did not get stomped because you said that you needed reinforcements to kill them).

I logged on and talk to the guild about these attacks on red lake…you had 3-4 arrow carts in the lords room (which the treb could not hit) so even if drgn out numbered you in the tower by 10, those arrow carts would make quick work of them with all the choke points

Oh grats, so you managed to hold the Breakout event tower you had with plenty of arrow carts, and the forces were even, but you guys failed to take Hills, from multiple attempts :P

Folk’s from trashcan guilds shouldn’t talk smack, specially when they lack the capacity to count. You had more people until the end when we got reinforcements. It was for the most part three arrow carts, everything else would get destroyed by the trebs, so if they were up it was not for long.

4) as I said it other threads don’t get mad at people recruiting from your server, get mad at the people abandoning your server. Instead of complaining, why don’t you try and get ppl from IoJ? I personally would be happy to lose the fair weather players that are willing to server hop.

Does anyone else see how hypocritical this statement is. You would be happy to lose the fair weather players. But thats what you recruit. Kind of strange dont you think. In that logic you will be happy when your whole guild leaves you stranded alone on IoJ

Lol I understood how this statement would sound when I said it but you have a couple of things wrong.
1) Drgn and its 400+members is not made up of people from other servers, must are from IoJ with maybe 20 or so members from other servers.
2) We do have fair weather people that leave, but for the most part people are happy with Drgn because we go out and have fun, we help teach, and we just make it a friendly environment. We try and foster guild loyalty before server (and Drgn as a guild is dedicated to IoJ).

since when did a mesmers portal become a glitch? and it only took you took your whole zerg to “stomp” us. you had a commander there and we got spotted by about 5-6guys before we event portaled and we had less then 10 guys. and OH! btw not sure if you noticed but we took briar back while we were distracting you.

Did you miss the part of your guild and then some getting face stomped by a dozen PTX at Redlake? How many pushes was that? 3? After that debacle I’d just uninstall.

I also love it when people get all excited “we stomped you” when your at a tower right next to your spawn and probably had siege. But by that logic next time CD decides to attack a tower and gets “stomped” (which happened a couple times while we were fighting FA in bay) you guys should /uninstall I mean if you don’t manage to take something your first few trys you should just give up

As for ohoni, It’s probably best to go to another server after saying anything like that if we(Crystal Desert) tried half as hard for something you WANT. Might as well use the server transfer and stay where ever you end up. I know personally I don’t want to help you now, after the poor attitude that is being shown. I hear Primordial Dragons is recruiting.
