November 15th Massive Update: Precursors Addressed?

Honestly, it doesn’t really bother me as long as the prices are stable. If you want to gamble on the mystic forge, go for it, but as long as I have a goal that doesn’t keep getting further away, I’m not too concerned.

I am, however, highly in favor of some more legendary weapons that can be acquired in ways other than “farm enough gold to construct your own elder dragon out of stacks of coins.”

Please Bring This Shield Back...

The Exalted Aegis from Guild Wars 1 was hands-down the most beautiful shield design I have ever seen in any game to date, and I’d love to see it make a comeback in GW2. Possibly a new mystic forge recipe?

The Lost Shores

Some speculation on the location of the Lost Shores update. I have highlighted, in orange, the area I believe to be the most likely location for expansion.
Image 1

The second image shows the green region from the first image up close. As you can see, a path from Sparkfly Fen already exists in-game, but is currently blocked off by a large rockslide.

More interestingly, the third image shows, in the first image’s yellow region, a peculiar, linear formation that stands out in the area in question. Are these islands, or perhaps something else?

Mursaat in Guild Wars 2

I get the impression that the mursaat are not showing us their full hand. You have to remember, this civilization both survived the first rise of the elder dragons and completely annihilated the seers, even though the seers had knowledge of the secrets of infusion.

The scenario I find most likely is that the mursaat are alive and well on the isle of Janthir, hiding themselves from the elder dragons. With Abbadon defeated and the titans destroyed, they have no further need of the Onyx Gate, and no further need of the White Mantle to provide them with sacrifices. I’d speculate that their interests in Kryta, following the events of Prophecies and the White Mantle’s fall from power, simply were no longer worth sustaining.

The mursaat encountered in the war in Kryta were possibly just the last holdouts of their expeditionary force.

Did I just find a risen largos?

I couldn’t help but notice, when mapping Malchor’s Leap, that the Risen Priestess of Dwayna looked eerily similar in body shape to Sayeh. Furthermore, upon aggroing her, I noticed she shared the same animations, particularly when shadowstepping (she performs the signature largos “twirl” before disappearing).

Now, I’m guessing the explanation for this is something a bit more down to earth – probably a model for a risen largos that was scrapped and later recycled to make the encounter more interesting – but it raises some interesting questions if this was done intentionally.

My apologies, I seem to have completely forgotten jewelers. Updated the OP.

I have no gripe with transmutation stones, but I do agree that a costume NPC would be a great addition. I like to play multiple characters, and I don’t get much enjoyment out of doing the same holiday event over and over so that each character can have the reward. At the very least, the items should be account bound.

I, among many other people, have noticed that the “back” slot is an underutilized resource in GW2. Obviously, the first thing that came to mind for many people were cloaks and quivers, but I thought immediately of themed backpacks and other items. What better reward for reaching a 400 crafting discipline than a crafting-themed back item?

Huntsman:

A backpack loaded down with bows, arrows, and gun barrels sticking out of every pocket.

Chef:

Two ideas here. A backpack with a small bundle of fruit dangling down the side, pots and pans hanging from the back (a la Sam Gamgee), and jars of spices strapped down to the top.

OR

A portable keg, complete with a tap and dangling beer steins.

Armorsmith:

A miniature forge, with bags of ore hanging from the sides.

Weaponsmith:

A backpack with a miniature anvil resting on top, with a hammer and tongs hanging down.

Artificer:

A portable alchemy set, with vials of various colored liquids and mysterious glowing bits.

Tailor:

An embroidered backpack, with bolts of various cloth strapped to it and a pair of scissors hanging on the outside.

Leatherworker:

A backpack featuring a prominent portable tanning rack.

Jeweler:

A treasure chest, overflowing with gold and gems, strapped to your back.

A Small Number of Engineer Bugs

A few bugs I have noticed while playing around on my engineer.

-“Detonate Rocket Turret” (toolbelt skill) does not work while underwater, even though rocket turrets can be deployed underwater. Attempting to activate the skill does nothing. While on land, an underwater rocket turret can be detonated, but not while submerged.

-“Backpack Regenerator” trait does not apply regeneration when a kit is equipped. Tested with med kit, elixir gun, tool kit, and flamethrower.
