Ummmmm, not to be rude, cause I am usually welcoming of strange theories, but the moon? Just because a trailer has a moon in it does not mean that we’re going to the moon, I think that final scene is more supposed to be focused on the broken Asura Gates, and the reason the camera is pointed towards the sky is because if the camera were pointed downwards, it would reveal to us where the Asura Gates really were, which some people speculate is Lions Arch. If it does end up being Lions Arch that would be a pretty huge spoiler to reveal in a teaser trailer.

It’s pretty obvious it’s lions arch. I’m just throwing ideas out there.

I went for the Icey theme of us Norns.

Chosen this to match the weapon set theme of Ice, Full Corrupted weapons and Jormags Breath for the Sword. ICE MAN!

First, this is all just a crazy theory that just popped in my head. Both poems we were given by scarlet have elements of time. The first was a pocket watch and the second is a metronome. Now both are pointing to the considered profession for gw2 which was a chronomancer. But this could mean Scarlett’s plans could just be to affect time somehow to her advantage ( speed up time to have the rest of the ED to awaken and begin chaos or reverse time to trap the human gods and consume their power?) I feel as though Scarlett will use time to accomplish her plans and when (if) we defeat here this will give birth to a whole new field of knowledge, Chronomancy. Scarlett’s uses her do not touch thumpers to control the the dragons way lines to control time for her goal. This is why I believe that the arena net developers didn’t want to add new skills or weapons to the game because they didn’t want the 3rd heavy profession to fall behind the other more played classes. Also we might fight Scarlett on the moon because at the end of the latest recap trailer it ends with Scarlett laughing and the camera looking at broken Asura gates and the moon in the middle.

I have another idea. Why not add an xp. Share like from Pokemon you can linked to and alt and and every xp your 80 gets, your alt gets a fraction of that.

I can see this happening as an Account Upgrade being buyable in the Gem Store.

Otherwise I think theres no need to do anying, because levelign alts is already easy enough …

Yiou can increase with boosters the exp-gain by 80% or so, the shop booster +50$, the laurel boster + 30% if I remember right.
Then there are guild banners that increse exp gain by another 10%
if you kill creatures, that haven’t been killed for a long time, you receive alot of bonus exp, that together with all the boost raises very quickly very high that you can get like 2000
exp per kill.

Running around in WvW doign constantly “events” or doing all kinds of events you find in PvE also gives you massive amoutns of exp quickly, especially when runnign around in max lvl maps like arah, where tons of events are currently always running due to the maps beign basically dead, unless peopel do the shrine events.

Then there are those scrolls now (and soon even more oftenly as rewards), that let your characters increase directly by +1 Level. and those that can boost a new character instantly to lvl 20.
You can get a character very quickly to lvl 80, if you just spend a few days on constnatly playing that 1 character that you want to get to lvl 80.

But suggestion threads alays make people look like, that they want to have all of theirtALts instantly at lvl 80 right after the moment of creatign them.

Forget this crap, somethign like this will never happen.
Live with the fact, that you always have to put in some effort, if you want to have a new character at max level and that this always will require of the player to spent some time with that character.

But you know what, levelign alts will become already constantly easier, so longer you play just normally with your Main Character and earn achievement points, because this way you raise also your account bound Bonus Exp %.
Most players that are around 10-15k AP right now for example have currently like another 12-15+ % an Bonus Exp on top of all exp they gain with asny characters

Making all of that even far more easier, would be too much, its already easy enough to make max lvl characters in short time.
Anyone who disagrees with that, is just a very lazy player or an extreme altoholic with way too many character slots, but these type of players created their problem for themself, because nobody is forced to have like douzens of characters to have basically of every race and class 2 characters or somethign crazy like that …

Last time I checked this thread was about leveling alts faster and not just insta buying 80. Look leveling alts can be extremely easy if you devote 90% of your actual time to level it. But I have to say MOST of the player base are casual players who don’t have the time to level them or simply hate restarting them. It’s not being lazy it’s hating going so slow through the almost mundane beginner areas, the uninteresting middle areas, and then finally the void of the higher maps with no one in sight because their all in queensdale. I love playing me Ele in wvw, but I hate knowing I’m getting xp on my already level 80 where’s as my alts don’t feet anything. That’s really what I don’t like.

So we all know the grueling, painstaking time it takes to start from scratch with a new character and begin the seeming “grind” to level your character up to 80 where it’s actually effective. Too many people want a instant buy level 80 card that would in return severely severe the continuity of this game. I would much prefer a bonus increase in xp gain when you have members in your party in the same place. For example you by your self leveling in Metrica Province would give you a x1 bonus to xp. However having another person would give a x2 bonus. This would then go up to x5 bonus to xp. After level 70 however this dose not take effect anymore because the px you gain is completely is large enough as is. Now I don’t know how the numbers would come out. Maybe x5 is way too much, but i would like to see a method like this. This would make people come to parties and somewhat unify some of the player base.

I’m not new to WvW but I am really new to Mesmer. That being said I have no idea how I go about traiting for it. I want a build that has some good survivability and good DPS. I like staff and sword torch, actually like all of the mesmers skills. So can anyone help me? I don’t mind switching utilities for Zerg and solo swapping yet I don’t like going through my traits to change them. The hell is very much appreciated. I always like conditions

Instead of the dervish focusing on just human gods, this profession follows faith simply to the mists. This makes lore and the fact ckitten’t believe in gods etc.

Well I feel the first healing skill should use some toning down. 8,000+ healing seems a bit much considering the average is 5,000. I would have the time scale to how much you heal, let’s say you heal 4k you get a 25 second cool down, 5k you get a 30s cd, 6k-7k you get 35s cd, and 8k cd.

Another thing is that I don’t like how many previous class mechanics are mushed in. You should replace mantra with something else because Mesmers all ready have them. Elysium shouldn’t be a a shadow step because only thieves do that but should be a dimensional mist teleport instead.

Well how about gust was replaced with a cone shaped electronic knock back with good damage. That way it adds damage and mobility. And the projectile should be faster, I’m shooting balls of electricity that kitten should be moving fast.

However, I do largely agree with your points. I’m a bit curious what you or others would think of as an acceptable third Heavy Armor profession though. All I can think up are Dervishes, but I feel like a lot of their functionality has been lost to other professions such as Elementalists.

Necros are great for spreading conditions like a plague(pun intended). Very helpful when running epidemic and there’s always that satisfaction watching your enemy die in front of you by conditions without really doing anything.

Mesmers are really the best on 1v1 and 1vX situations. There phantasm and clones really confuse enemies on the battle field and there only good counters are necros and really good eles

Don’t like engineer so that’s that.

Really most of staff air is fine except for Gust. Static field is great and winborne speed is great as well. The auto attack is alright and discharge great for the blindness. However, gust hits only a single target and rarely even hits its victim. I would say to completely scrap this skill and replace it with a large cone attack that deals really good damage. Fire and air are used for damage whereas water is for support and earth for defense. So it only really makes sense to make air have more damage.

I also highlighted the benefits of new race and profession. I just also included cons to go with those too. All three that I listed (explorable areas, races, professions) would add more to game value.

Dynamic game play is different and would deal with skills and traits but still leave little impression of change in the overal game. Last summer we had a major trait revamp of all classes and this next patch we’re seeing a huge overhall yet again. Even though these game play aspects have changed and change often they aren’t adding a new level of excitement or interest overall and players are still complacent and bored with contend as a whole despite the changes.

My opinions and suggestions were to add things to a more immersive experience.

You see I agree with you because the whole trait revamp thing is really flawed. I hate the use of traits simply because I can’t see what I’m developing. It’s so hard to tell when a trait is activated or deactivated and have very unnoticeable effect on the battle field. My problem with traits is that it only helps increase the damage you do, decrease the damage you take, or buff the unique set that each profession has respectively. I’m not saying traits don’t have an impact because they definitely do but it sooo hard to really see the correlation between your skills and traits. But that might just be me idk. What do you think?

These suggestions are very common and I don’t feel add anything new to the game. Yes, your play style may be slightly different with new builds and yes your armor may have a unique look but those are bandaids for substantial and new content. Regardless of your skills and looks the game (in these regards) is still just as stale as it currently is and features no real appeal to continue playing.

Adding new explorable areas opens the game up to new environment design, different enemies than the same few you can find on every map, heart quests with different goals and ways to achieve them, new dynamic events, and meta bosses. This is a lot of bang for your buck that adds hours of fresh content that would encourage players to play and explore.

Adding a new race will only nominally increase play value and new content because the only thing they would have to offer is a new personal story. After that point you’re just repeating the same Order and Pact missions that everyone goes through. Still, new racials, lore, and different armor looks would be an appealing factor for alt lovers or those who don’t feel they entirely mesh well with any of the existing races.

Adding a new profession could be interesting depending on how it is executed. The devs have said that if they ever considered adding a new profession into the game they would only do so if it had unique features that other classes didn’t and wasn’t just a hodgpoge of existing traits and abilities. If they could pull this off the willingness of players to go back and give the new profession could be great, but I don’t see ANet making moves to that any time soon. Also, as previously stated, the new profession isn’t adding anything new to do in game except have a new character.

So far the only thing you think would make the game better would be to add new areas to explore but the problem is that not everyone does pve. That would only benefit on section if the community leaving the other two. My simpler changes would infact change all three spheres of the game. The end of all in GW2 is when you’ve maxed everything of anything for your character(s) and further bored. Adding New skills, weapons, skins, etc. just furthers the advancement you could potentially go. As of now the ascended level is the maximum level of obtainable armor and halts anymore vertical development. The only thing that surpasses this are legendaries and overall the look you want (no ones walking around in ascended armor without some transmutation trust me) So the aesthetics of this game are very important. Also new skills and even new trait paths would completely change the feel of the game. Everyone is different and thus every playsyle is different, adding more viable ways to play would be great. I would love to dual wield shields on a warrior or gaurdian and have a sort of punching form of combat. Stuff like this makes you feel more connected to your character. My main D/D asuran elementalist feels like my own character but I would love to add to more with new skins. My necro would look great with some dark shadow particle effects. Adding unique stuff that works only makes the game better. And of course new areas with bigger and better Metas is always exciting, but until those teams finish working or when they decide to announce their release, for now I think this could hold us over.

I don’t know what it is, but something needs to change. Current living story, I feel, has left many unfulfilled and unhappy.People log on check it out complete the meta then log off. I would much prefer months of no content where you guys really think about what you want to add in the game. right now you guys are running a sort of quantity over quality mentality, and in my honest opinion this should be the opposite. I would much prefer you guys announce the day of th big patch and give us little hints of what’s to come, then the update would be a permanent addition to the game and allow us to explore what you haven given us. For example:

Uvatha made a great point! I feel the most important thing arena net could do to increase interest in GW2 is really increase the quality of the story. Over all aesthetic and minuscule features I listed prior only keep the game alive in its current state, however developing an enriching story that keeps everyone addicted to the development really makes an MMO long lasting. I believe this may not be and issue because ArenaNet has confirmed that there are currently 4 teams working on LS yet there are other, larger teams working on much more prolific content. What this is or may be I still have no clue. Hopefully their planning on adding large updates (with fee?) to the game, and the fact to been a year still that they haven’t announced it means their is a lot of care going into this add on.

-need more ideas…

I would really like to see the community to get excited of the upcoming big patches. Oh what’s next? I heard Cantha?(please.please.please) Really I heard we finally get the explore the crystal dessert with a whole new addition to the living story and adding new end game. There is none of this excitement and you guys aren’t showing anything back.
The living story needs to go and be replaced with bigger, permanent, and time consuming patches. And look if you can create a story and design it every two weeks you guys and easily and in some new weapon and armor sets. They don’t have to look well as a whole because in the end people like to mix a match. A whole set could look horrible but those gloves look FABULOUS. You guys said that end game wasn’t about stats but aesthetics you reached endgame when you finally completed the look for you character. If you keep adding in weapons and armours this keeps the surge of " I want…" I

LS isn’t working the way you want it to. Sure the “Update every two weeks” looks great for marketing and on paper but I fails horribly in implementation. Again it should be quality of your work instead of the quantity. Please just take a break from LS and stop shoving skarlet down my throaght ( if I hear DIE DIE DIE DIE in wvw on more time I will kitten on all of your desks). Think more of long lasting additions. And keep the artists busy with making skins for weapons and armies monthly. This keeps people working for what they want. ( and no that dose not mean put them on the gem store). Add actual skins like you did for the champion box update that was by far one of the better moments you guys got right. Of course keep the festives up like Halloween and Christmas. But please stop living story and emphasize on the actual work you put out. Think things through and don’t rush. For me I would fine with big updates if they were fewer and far between but not expansion pack material. But I feel something really change….

If you do decide to delve into to making this profession about the mist I would make the concept art have the left hand surrounded with mist instead of the foamy effect. But it’s your concept don’t let me tell you what to do.

See this is why I like the concept of this class. Dual shields you would think that it would be pointless but there’s always something you can do. That what this game needs, uniqueness. Dual shields definitely adds some flavor, how about a staff for melee combat. The profession (I still think it being centered on harnessing the mist would be really good lore and implementation wise) focuses solely on cc( stuns,nock backs, knock downs etc.) definitely very interesting I feel and should really be implemented in my honest opinion.

How would you describe your proposed profession along those lines, in comparision to the other professions?

I would say it lies with close range combat than provides and emphasis support and control of the terrain. They rip booms from enemies and copy them to their allies. They can manipulate boons and gain charges from attacks that eventually allow the class to do ‘something’. They have a good number of cc knockdowns, walls, and mass blindness skills that help mitigate over all damage.

You know part of me wants this to be full heavy too…a lot.. maybe it should be mist based as well.. as in the mists.

Yeah it fills in really well with lore and even the current living story. And on the plus side it would be extremely easy to implement. Oh a new land is found where a cult of wizard knights are delving into harnessing the power of the mists. In said cult/college all races of Tyria are seen helping progress the studies. The possibilities are endless and the more I think about the more excited I get. Ill continue to think about this and any ideas I get ill share.

I love the idea of this class but have just one problem the whole infernal energy and fire theme seems a little overdone with you know elementalists and guardians having that under their belt. However I think a better theme for the class would be a full on knight profession imbedded in the mystical power and magic of the mists. Almost like the mists is their source of power. This would provide them with a huge range of mist like attacks and AoE’s. A a giant mist forms at target location that causes attacks to miss. Harness the energy of the mists into a spear, hurling at your foe and drag them in. Create a dome of mist essence that slows all enemy cool downs and movements by 20%.

Give us an experience share buff or item that you can link between two characters and xp gained from one shared with another. Of course xp will be evenly gained so that the xp gained by a level 80 would give a level 3 68xp rather then 1500 or whatever. This buff or item would last for a certain period of time, specifically when only logged on like all other consumable buffs and would last for maybe a month-2 months or until the linked character reaches 80. Item would cost around 800-1200 gems so that it isn’t exploited. I feel this is simply a Quality of Life rather then skipping the “learning” of the proffesion change because going through quensdale 5 times over isn’t what I call fun.

I agree with Mosharn… You guys were good on week 4 because you had everyone on the game still thinking you could win the league. At week 5, you fairweather base gave up and you lost most of your number (thus why your week 5 was horrendous).

Numbers dictates this game. No tactics can win a matchup against a server that can easily overwhelm you.

In other words: ET can even try Blackgate tactics, but if SF just come and zerg us with big numbers and no tactics at all we’ll still lose.

I thought that too, but then when I went in I looked and it wasn’t the case at all. Even the 5man guilds were still in there. However, part of the difference was that a few someones convinced a the main EBG commanders to not command pugs in EBG for the week since we still have a ton of noobs who don’t obey. They wanted to show those noobs that if they don’t get on VoIP, they’re not helping us.

It kind of worked, but not to the extent they had planned. To be honest, if it got rid of several fair-weathers, SF is only stronger for it. We don’t need them. Nothing is worse than seeing EBG get dismantled and then trying to get a guild in and hitting 1h-2h queues.

Quite frankly though, having to go up against T3 keeps every day when waking up against a team with Tier 1 tactics becomes quite pointless when Monday hits. Against SF at least, once the 4h prime-time is over, you can paper everything again with little to no resistance.

I still don’t get where IoM is? Did they quit on you guys? They were what was most fun about ET since at least they could bring a fight.

were still here, i would just say its tough when your getting over whelmed and single targeted by one server from the very beginning. You guys managed to stem and cut off our advancement right from reset night by taking Hills, Bay, and Garri. IOM is still here and still fighting but it dose lower out moral and incentive allot when ET is the main focus of SF whereas Kaeining gets a free trip. Yet again ET is shut down just last week we had Ferg let AR take there borderlands just so they can beat us. This just my personal opinion anyways, but IOM will not stop fighting i can assure you that.

Please let weapons not shrink on our characters. Legendaries are pointless on for we can’t even see them. Weapons should stay the same size from combat to sheathed and not shrink. For two handed when they rest on your back they should not shrink in size. That way people can still show off their weapons while its on their back. As for one handed weapons move them as we’ll onto the back of the Asura. This way you can still see the weapons and not have become so microscopic and hide under your coat.
1. Heck move all one handed weapons to the back of the character model instead. This way you see your weapons at all times.

Yeah at first the character customization didn’t bother me, but when I wanted to make a role play character, I was hit with a wall of limitations. Simple adding more faces, hairstyles, ability to increase decrease length of hair would be fine.

No thank you. As an avid WvW player I solely like to focus on WvW. I can’t stand PvE because there’s no challenge or satisfaction. Don’t get me wrong, dungeons and some meta events are great but that stuff please keep over in PvE. I have a lot of stuff to do in WvW, there’s never nothing you can’t do, but the thought of having to go to PvE and kill a boss for a buff or fear of a debuff sounds horrible. Servers with a larger population would get an instant advantage. I can’t tell you when I was in teamspeak with my guild when I asked what the red flame was on the wvw map and they said it was a PvE event I moaned. These things distract from the actual objective and don’t really belong in WvW. And guess what when I groaned with disgust, my guildies laughed saying that everyone of them had the same reaction. So though your idea would be great for bringing the server together as a whole, maybe it shouldn’t be. Right now nothing is broken between the separation of Pve and WvW so why change it. kindly pushes PvE away with a stick and draws a line in the sand

Cmon, pve players will kill those bosses anyway. But with bonuses that will be payback for WvW players who gave us bonuses in pve world.

1. Not always the case, I play on Eredon Terrace which is a smaller server we rarely have a temple open or defeat Tequatle. This idea of PvE buffs us then WvW buffs PvE back would last a short while unless the buff actually had impact. However, this just provides even more worries for smaller populated servers that higher tier servers have extra people to spare.
2. The only way I could see this being possible would be for effects that only effect each individual charter such as magic find. A harmless stat like that would go fine and actually be nice for WvW-PvE synergy yet some meta events are difficult still with a full server rallied. Lets say you kill Tequatle and gain 150% magic find buff the higher level servers will have this buff MUCH more often then the lower ones. Not saying this will happen, but influx of people yet again to the bigger servers.
I’m not saying this is guaranteed to happen, but simply my speculation.

and this would just completely destroy the purpose of the game. I mean really skip all the way to 80. who needs to waste time LEARNING their class. everyone can just become an instant pro at it without working.
while we’re at it how bout we had a 1 shot skill so we don’t have to waste our time fighting enemies and bosses.
Oh and then we can just have unlimited everything because picking up the loot would be to much for us.

If you gave an instant-80 scroll in the game you would just have a ton of 80th level characters with no one playing in the lower level areas anymore.

Hahahahahahahahahahha look at Queensdale.. If anything the higher level maps have less people because there harder. This needs to be implemented I hate leveling alts simple because its repetitive and boring. I would pay 20 gold to level an alt to straight 80 rather then gems.

Yeah PvE is easy when your dealing with stupid AI. Have you ever noticed that the only time over is hard is when the boss can one shot you? Try playing elemntalist with the lowest health pool, lowest armor level, and lastly ArenaNet hounding every good skill or trait in hopes it doesn’t seem to powerful. Imagine how hard it is to kill someone else who has actual intelligence with all these things already against you. Elementalist fighting anyone is a up hill battle..

And where are these numbers coming from? Are you running full zerker? Because if so, engineers rifle number 5 crits for 12,000 easy. These numbers are expected in zerk but then again auto attacks do basically half there damage to you. You either ( just like in the Claymore manga) choose to be a defensive build and outlast your opponent with aegis, regeneration, etc. or you kill to survive with full seeker and high dps. They have there pros and cons and not one professions should be nerfed when Thiefs and warriors can do it just as well. Elementalist are meant to do high damage or support.

(I will continue to encourage and to remind Arena.net; Class Balance, must be enforced for Guild Wars 2 survival).

I literally laughed at this for 5 minutes when I got to the end. This is the class that has the lowest health and the most prominent x/x/x/30/30sh proffesion. This is the class, besides engineers, that needs the most buffs and looking into. But you got what you wanted Ele’s D/D build is gone now with the Arcana switches.

This post is not bashing the whole server BUT how CLASSY of this ET mesmer untagged undoubtedly cause he knew what he was doing. Trying to die near underwater gate bay in ET BL so he could get ressed from outside!!! GG keep it classy mesmer……

WHO CARES!!!!!!!! I’ve seen AR and Ferg do the same thing. I’ve seen GoM, Yak, etc. do this were all frustrated about this glitch, but pointing out Mesmer from ET or any server doesn’t help. If you want to help make a separate post to arena net in the glitch forums. I know your not bashing our server in particular but this stuff is just annoying.
