When I cleanse the spectral agony from an Ether tower using the special Counter Magic skill, my character continues to act as if slowed without having the condition present. All other parts of the spectral agony (cripple, confusion and torment) are removed with no residual effects; only the character’s action speed behaves as if slowed.
I have only observed this bug with the Ether towers’ agony, the Jade constructs’ is working as expected.
I have the same issue: completed on two different characters (while doing their stories), and no recognition from vendor or achievments panel. Will try later on another character without the story, but I’m not holding out hope.
Birthday gifts are character-based, not account based.
Anyway, I see no reason you wouldn’t get a birthday gift once your oldest character becomes 1 year old.
I know GW2 was slated to have 2-h Axes at launch, but I’m curious, where’s the continued interest coming from? WoW?
There are two 2-H axes still in the game that I know of. One is a mordrem axe that’s npc-only, the other is a staff you kinda have to squint to see.
In the game there’s swords, 2h-swords, maces, 2h-maces (hammers), axes, and no 2h-axes. It makes sense to ask yourself why one is missing from the pattern. Also, the original iconic art for the warrior profession ( https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/) pictures the warrior with a 2h axe.
Since the launch of the game there have been a couple of armour sets that were obtained in very strange ways, the strangest imo is the Stalwart armour set. While the Stalwart Chestpiece was obtained from a level ~30 story chapter, the rest of the set was only obtainable through PvP. (At the time pvp skins and pve skins were still seperated).
There were three sets like this, one for each weight. You could the complete set through PvP; they were just kind enough to give us plebs in PvE a shot at a piece.
They also had a chance of dropping from the achievment reward chests, it’s how I got 5/6 Stalwart.
Buy the exotic insignia/inscription recipe and stat-swap your ascended armor/weapons in the mystic forge.
My advice while getting the crystal is not to focus on it: do map completion and kill everything on your path, go get a Thaumanova reactor key while killing everything you come across, harvest ore and lumber inbetween killing mobs, participate in events for some mastery experience, etc. The crystal will drop eventually (took me around 3 hours), nd you will have been somewhat productive with your time.
I have done the fight on 8 different characters now (7 times solo, 1 time duo with a guildie) and it doesn’t seem to bug that often as people say.
For the Canach fight, just ignore the shield and use your own crowd control, his break bar is fairly small and easily overcome. Other than that, it’s just strafing and ranging.
For the final boss, melee works best usually. His own attacks are pretty weak, the stunning cone is easily sidestepped, and the damaging blinding zone he puts around himself does nothing. The only dangers are the confusion-reflection shield, during which you can just stay a bit far away and wait it out, and the slowing line paths, which you should avoid. The mini torment projectiles are annoying for 1 section of the fight while you have not gotten the reflection buff, and moving around to prevent high stacks of torment works fairly well.
About the flying sequences, simply walking into the vortexes should get you into the air. Always keep an eye on the boss, when he throws a rock at you, immediately change direction and it will miss you. The last flying sequence adds a bit of the mini torment projectiles, at that time try to get to the other side of the arena (rocks are a higher priority though).
I have yet to even see DS’ meta. For a game that boasts of a megaserver I go there, stand around for a while, see one or two persons in one camp. Sometimes I even see five (!) in one camp and one in the other two. After five or so minutes of twiddling my thumbs I pack up and return to VB.
I’m not sure why people want raids. All metas other than VB are raids in all but name. Coordinated effort between groups needed and all, which is why it so often ends in tears (and deserted).
The most important factor to finding a good map and completing the meta is going to DS at the right time. Right when the map closes and a new one opens is the time to open LFG and look for an organised map ( or taxi people to your own).
The Lionguard weapon skins are sold in Fort Marriner, above Canach’s jail. The armor all Lionguard wear is also acquireable from certain heart vendors.
I am sorry for being a bit off topic, but does the Twillight Arbor armor glow as well?
Yes, this seems to be a database error. The graphic in the GW2DB is actually of the upgrade (Corrupted bow).
The combination power/toughness/vitality seems to be the only combination that has both vitality and toughness at endgame (70-80) gear. So far, the only places where one can find such armor that I know of are:
- AC explorable armor
- SE explorable armor
- Orr Temple karma vendors (not every piece is at every temple, keep that in mind)
- WvWvW vendors
I agree to this post as well. Granted, I have yet to kill the Sovereign Eye in its new nerfed state but I can say that that encounter was probably one of the most enjoyable ones in the story. I soloed the Eye with a war, and, while it took for ever, the excitement and content of actually besting the boss in single combat (Trahearne excluded) was second to none
In my experience so far, the personal story has not been that difficult. On my first character (human war), I soloed every single mission with the exception of the final one. Granted, some fights (Eye pre-nerf) took some time, and I died a couple of times but nothing serious. The only times I have had trouble on my later characters was
1) Human ele soloing a lvl 12 veteran engineer spamming bleed+poison darts
2) Lvl 8-9 sylvari thief soloing the Green knight fight
In truth, those were the only times I raged at the high difficulty but overall I don’t think that the story missions are that hard to do at all.
Yeah, thanks very much for the info
I am curious what is the armor that is worn by Mesmers in profession select screen (like how Thieves wear Duelist armor, Warriors – Knight’s, Engineers – Orr karma armors etc.). I have seen it worn in game once, and for some reason cannot find it in the PvP locker. Some help from the more knowledgeable would be much appreciated.
I have had the same problems as well. First (all in warrior perspective), rifle shots happen to miss/be obstructed/whatever some percent of the time. Some times slightly moving seems to help but it still is an issue when both me and my target are standing still and 2/8 of the volley shots say “obstructed”. Second, while underwater mobs would sometimes evade/turn invulnerable/reset when I have done nothing to cause such behavior. Most often comes to mind Krait Nimross which after using their net wall attack would simply turn around and reset. I have also seen underwater attacks showing “evade” seemingly randomly (for instance, the thief Nine Tail strike would once hit all strikes, and another time the mob would evade all strikes without a change in positions). Lastly, the structure hitboxes, particularly when using melee weapons, seem a bit off as in being unable to hit them unless in a very specific place. Range weapons mostly do not have these problems though certain positions do give the “obstructed” effect forcing some movement to find a place that works
