I’ve got an Asura warrior using T3 Cultural and super weapons. It’s pretty awesome.
On GvG I really can’t wait until it becomes more GvG instead of ZvZ. I mean yest there is a little skill in GvG now but when teams are 8-15 as opposed to 20-30 individual skills shine and tactics become huge.
Ok the main reason isn’t damage in sPvP. Even if the Longbow does more damage, most would use a longbow. It has the more mobile skillset. It provides poison which is huge with slowing heals, a free evade, cripple, and daze/stun. Longbow has a slower attack speed, slower animations, just not as good in close range combat. Most of your fighting is going to be on a point, you’re either not on the point attacking them in which case they can typically tank/avoid the damage, or both are on the point fighting which means you’re doing less damage. Your knockback is a nice interrupt but Barrage isn’t as great in sPvP, dodging/avoiding he qucikshot ins’t hard either if your opponent isn’t terrible it’s easy to dodge a majority, stealth or get something between you and the longbow user.
I like how everyone complains it’s numbers when TC is beating them. Last night on EB at the end when SoS was attacking Stonemist their zerg was easily twice our size but we managed to hold them off for quite a while.
On the PvP arguement I mean I think Bo5 or Bo3 is better. You can’t say so and so just got lucky. If we want to Bo1 I’ll just find the gimickiest builds possible that win.
Well tonight was fun. First time commanding on EB and it lasted about 5 hours. Somehow managed to hold SoS off Stonemist for about an hour and a half. Their zerg was twice our size but couldn’t break through somehow.
Kuruptz you only get laurels if you didn’t get your PvE laurels, it’s an either or. You can’t get laurels for PvP and PvE.
Currently the only reward in sPvP is cosmetics and glory. What would be wrong with allowing players to level through sPvP, gain gold or laurels? Why is the daily/monthly laurel PvE OR PvP not PvE and PvP? I’m loving PvP but if I’m doing it I’m not gaining anything, I’m not making gold, karma, levels that can be used towards anything. Why can’t a tournament win give a small amount of karma, 10 silver, and some experience?
Sorry, this is kind of a rant, but I’m a PvE/WvW that enjoys PvP but the lack of rewards keeps me away.
I don’t get the complaining, sure if you’re playing glass cannon warrior you don’t have condition removal. I’ve been running Shouts and have plenty of sustain and condition removal. If you refuse to change from 100% Berserkers GS then you’re not going to get condition removal and sustain.
This is a really good match up. I really would like to see the invincible spots be moved back a bit. I’d rather the zone be smaller than larger. Took Titanpaw earlier today and a bunch of people just sat up in the invincible spot and attacked/retreated.
My main reason I say Rangers are one of the two worst classes are pets can really drag you down. They require micro management and aren’t rewarding. There is now way to just keep them stowed. Also the trait lines are incredibly uninteresting. The only Grandmaster traits that are relatively/good interesting are Signet of the Beastmaster, Trap Potency, Natural Healing. Natural Healing require you to go 30 deep in Beastmastery which is one of the weakest trees in my opinion because you have to rely on your pet which sometimes has the AI of a rock. Signet of the Beastmaster would be amazing if the signets didn’t suck and have forever long recharge. Signet of Renewal is great but doesn’t synergize with the trait. Signet of the Hunt I lose my 25% movespeed for 24 seconds for 150% on ONE attack. Signet of Stone/Wild would be great if they didn’t have a 96 second cooldown with the signet recharge trait. If they replaced the Beastmaster’s Might with a trait that either let you keep the active effect while they’re on recharge or gave you +X power/vigor/health regen/whatever for each signet that’s on cooldown I would work with it. Traits certainly could use more of a rework.
As for weapons, I know were a RANGEr but we’re not even the best ranged class. The Longbow buff was desperately needed. People could side step the arrow, no dodge even necessary. I would like to see a slight attack speed increase and I’d probably pick every now and then. Shortbow I have no problems with I really like the design/damage. Axe mainhand is wonderful even for farming, off hand it’s not terrible but could use a little more damage on it’s 5 skill. Sword is pretty good damage wise it’s just complicated and awkward and unless you set out to master it you’re going to drop it eventually. Greatsword is kind of a joke it’s a greatsword but uses a defensive playstyle and has embarrassing damage. Torch/Warhorn I think are perfectly fine. Dagger is interesting no real problems it just doesn’t fit the flavor. I’d rather see Dagger/Dagger or Sword/Sword than Sword/Dagger. D/D could easily replace GS as the defensive weapon with an evade on attack. I’d like to see GS dropped as a Ranger weapon. I LOVE greatswords, ANet does too but it’s not really a Rangery weapon at least not with this design. I’d much rather see Hammer with traits in the Beastmastery tree. The hammer could fill a support role with a lot of CC and let your pet be the damage. Ranger’s have a very shaman/druidy feel so I could see a Staff fitting better than a GS and would fit right in the Nature Magic tree. 1 could command a vine to attack every 3rd attack applies whatever condition. Then focus on a lot of AOE like a 1 second immobilize/cripple for skill 5. Make it a more naturey version of the Mesmer staff. Focus on condtions/removal/regeneration.

Makes pets smarter

I’ve been playing shout warrior and noticed my shouts haven’t been removing conditions. I salvaged my 6 runes off of a previous set of armor with a Black Lion Salvage kit and now the new armor they’re on says 12/6 runes but still doesn’t remove conditions.
I got to the part where Ranger and Engineer are better than Warrior.
Actually the only reason GS out damages Hammer is because of Hundred Blades. Using the 1 skill the Hammer deals more damage than GS.
Hard to take this as a “best” build with a random Pirate rune in there.
Woot woot 33 tries still no Princess Tonic, a little upset I can’t make the Toy Soldier one. ANet make the mini’s salvagable or trade it in for the frame I’ll buy all the minis if I can end up with tonics for all of them.
EDIT: 64 tries, I’m out of money so guess I’ll wait.

I really wish we could do a quest to “level up” our pets. GW1 did it and it was fun. Like imagine if you could get your wolf to become like Garm.
Anybody upset at the matchmaking algorithm? I mean we win by quite a lot every week and continue to lose points. We will most likely be playing the same servers for at least a month.
This is the most absurd I’ve seen the potential points I’ve seen in WvW.
Why do they have to be account bound too. We have people in our guild with 5 extra rings and people with 0 after 10 days. Maybe make it so rings can’t be listed on the TP but can be mailed.
Nonlinear I have no clue why you have all the hate. Shouts whooping 2k heal has saved mine and allies lives numerous times, not to mention that it removes conditions (unless you’re not using Rune of the Soldier, then you’re not too bright). Shout warrior really shines in multiples or with squishies like a thief or two. You should learn to math better too. My heals are roughly 2k while a character has 16k-24k health so about a 20k average. That’s 10% which is much better than the <5% you quoted also along with that comes conditon removal also that can happen every 20 seconds and multiple times. So say roughly every 30 seconds you can heal 6k, while removing 4 conditions, granting might and fury and increasing damage done to whatever you’re attacking. Players keep using the you do less damage you don’t help argument but it’s flawed and a selfish way to look at it. As for other options you have 5 signets which is no where near as good in dungeons and what else?
Yes all weapons now have that particle effect.
