So i assume i have to explain it for those who didn’t get it the first time.
The problem itself may not affect everyone, the way it is being handled affects everyone.
Just like others have shown good examples here, and since you brought up PvP… What if next time thousands of people would get the Champion Brawler title for entering the Heart of the Mists?

And? Does the Champion Brawler TITLE give you some sort of gameplay advantage that I’m unaware of as well?

Just so we’re clear, I don’t have GWAMM (although my Mesmer in GW1 is 29 out of 30 titles, so I may one day finish the last one up and get it legit) and could care less if everyone in the game had it. GWAMM or Champion Brawler doesn’t make you better at dungeons, more deadly in PvP, or shoot Arrow Carts further in WvW.

They’re cosmetic, nothing more. The only person it affects negatively are those who place value on it to the point where their ego is miffed.

Its the same thing as Legendary weapons. Some rich guy can go buy all the Bifrosts he wants, heck why not one for each character? And that guy could be TERRIBLE in terms of gameplay, and get outperformed by a good player in blues and greens. An Ascended Staff is just as good as a Bifrost, costs significantly less, and the only difference is cosmetic, not mechanical.

Do you complain that people with an Incinerator can use the wardrobe to make it look like they have TWO Incinerators, even though they DIDN’T EARN IT!?!1 Why do you care?

If your enjoyment is wrapped up in what other people have, then you’re going to have a bad time.

This “it doesn’t effect gameplay” argument seems to be a reoccurring excuse for those that received the title without earning it and YES, you’re going to lose your title. It doesn’t matter how much you try to justify it. Should you or anyone but anet be blamed for you getting this title without earning it? No, but quit trying to hide behind lame excuses.

What if you paid for 10 skins with gems and all of the sudden a group of people used an exploit to gain said skins for free. Would that effect your gameplay? Would you want to invest your time/money into the game anymore? Of course not, you would be furious and you sure as hell wouldn’t buy any more gems (anet doesn’t want that, in case you didn’t know). These people that earned GWAMM not only invested their money into buying gw1 and its expansions ($160 total when i bought them all), but so much time, thousands of hours to get that title. I haven’t earned it myself and i probably never will, due to how much time it takes.

This directly affects everyone playing either game (GW1 or GW2) and i can only hope they won’t do something similar to something you care about but won’t be fixed because it’s not a priority.

I was unaware that displaying the GWAMM title gave you +10% damage in PvP. Yeah, ANet should so get on the ball and fix this bug which affects everyone by giving a concrete gameplay advantage to those cheaters.

Here’s how it should be fixed:

1. Wait until April 1st.
2. Give everyone GWAMM.
3. Change it to “Mortal Walking Amongst Glorious Gods”.
4. Give people who actually earned GWAMM their title back.
5. Profit! (profit in this case being a new title!)

the greatsword is in a good place. i would like to see a reduced cooldown on skill number 5 but meh.

this game is easy to learn and hard to master. starting out is really fun, take time to enjoy each zone.

I hate bow classes, ill probably never use one in this game, axe is as far as ill go. But ranger is the only character i got to 80 and i love it.

There’s just something really fun about swinging my gigantic greatsword around with my pet in tow.

this is definitely bugged after messing with it.

was it a Jaguar pet? maybe the f2 skill somehow transferred to you while using lick wounds? who knows haha.

well obviously you forgot to enable the chastity belt checkbox. There’s also a setting in the options called church mode that places everyone in arabic robes so nothing disgraceful is shown.

well i put in a ticket for my specific scenario (reached 30 hom the day this went down). they haven’t replied. i’m about to roll out on this game. i’m pretty much done until i can access the vendor again.

Ì’ve got 30 HoM aswell, got it ages ago – if your entire GW2 experience gonna exist about the HoM skins I can guarantee you might aswell quit right now.

I used them a lot in the beginning, as free skins for my gear.
Now I don’t even have the portal stone on any of my characters, and only permanently use 1 of the skins.

Be patient and enjoy the actual game

I have played the game, my character age is 942 days. I’ve been here since the beginning, i bought the collectors edition before the game even came out. I love this game and i put off playing my old gw1 characters for a long time. (i’d rather play gw2 lol). With the new expansion coming i decided to get back into it and unlock some skins.

And the day i finally do get to 30 HoM? I get crapped on. Yes i’m angry. Not only that, people were able to just earn these rewards with no effort whatsoever. no im not brand new to the game. im a ranger that wants his runeblade and white raven that i freaking earned.

at this point a rollback isn’t going to happen. it would have already happened. they are likely finding a way to re-verify linked gw1/gw2 accounts hom points and the achievements that pertain to them. i’m betting the people that got the title and achievement points without actually earning it (no matter what the circumstance) will just get them taken away and we will move on with our lives. no perma bans, no rollback, no issues. i think time is the only factor here.

people in my current perdicament are the only ones that are going to suffer from this, as someone who JUST hit 30 hom the day this all went down. i now have to wait for the rest of my skins no runeblade for me for a while, FML.

edit: i do have my closer to the stars title, i have that going for me, which is nice.

Hey all,

Believe me, the devs are aware of this issue and it has been and is being taken care of.

I have been playing gw1 the last few days to level up my HoM points. After hearing news of the expansion, it got me pumped. I went from 10-20 today. I REALLY hope this doesn’t somehow screw me out of my rewards that i’m legitimately earning. I checked my gw2 account and my titles are updating, but i’m not seeing the reward pets in the HoM. I understand i’m not able to talk to the vendor to prevent people from getting skins they shouldn’t have, but i really am earning my stuff right now and i better not lose it.
