I think there’s going to be a lot of people trying out the arrow carts tonight.

We tried it. Dang those Arrow Carts were OP!

We don’t have any written strats or anything like that. I usually command and decide tactics through experience and reading the flow of the battle.
As far as running as a small group, always make sure you position your team on the most advantageous spot. It is your duty as the team leader to find those said spots.
Things you wanna do are hiding your numbers, look for those good flanking positions, choke points, the high ground or positions where they cannot get behind you.

First, decide what your team’s function is. Is it by doing diversions? Holding the line? Flanking? Sieging? Sabotage? Assassination-focus on one then get out…attack then repeat, Roaming taking camps and small objectives?
Then work around that.

If I would make a 5 man group, this will be the line up:
Guardian, Warrior , Mesmer, Ranger, Thief(or whatever your class is)
Then I will ask them to modify their builds into more team oriented builds.

Here’s a small team with good synergy. Some of these guys are not in my guild anymore but they are really good at what they do so I wanna share this.

Watch his videos. You’ll learn a lot about running a small team. Things you wanna watch out specifically are the boons they use on certain situations, aoe/field placements. combo finishers.

Looks like you are your team’s leader. Getting dedicated team leaders who are willing to spend time to train, manage and get the group together is the hardest part of it.

First, get a deputy to help you out on the management and training. Usually if the leader is not on, the team doesn’t function so you will need a reliable deputy leader to take over the team when you’re not around.

Second is just play together! just roam around and play wvw lots of times together. Do team runs even when your guild is not doing a major raid. Those really help. Get in those outmanned impossible situations all the time so they get used to it. In the end of each run, talk about what you did wrong and what you could’ve done to make it better. Any suggestions? opinions? violent reactions?

Third, Have fun!

Warning:
Make sure that you always report to your guild leader and socialize with the other teams. It’s easy to become your own identity within the guild. Expect that you will get better and really good. This may result in your guys becoming elitist and segregate themselves from the rest of the guild. I know this coz this happened in my own guild. We experimented on this formation for over 4 months and through trial and error, the synergy between the teams are really good right now. We learned a lot and gained experience running multiple teams or squads(that’s what we call it in our guild). You need humility and never look down on your own guild members.

COMMUNICATION – that’s the key.

I am sharing this to you because very few guilds apply this kind of formation and I’m glad more guilds are starting to do this for better tactical play. I wanna share what my guild has gone through to get to the level of organization that we have now.

During guild raids, each squad reps their squad’s roster guild to be able to see their members better.The guild leader is a member of all the squad roster guilds.

The format is :

Squad Name [FTF]

We then make sure that we get everyone to rep the main guild everytime a guild raid ends.

It’s gonna be quite a task for your guild leader to unite and use multiple teams effectively. It took me a while but once he/she gets it in, it works wonders. Goodluck to you and your guild.

Since you’ve been posting this I’ve made a point to search every inch of every keep, and tower putting down marks as a Necromancer. Not once did a single mark trigger, so I’m sending this in to Anet to make a decision.

Other Necromancers can explain to you what it means for a mark to trigger, or not.

Something is fishy with what you’re doing, and it pains me to spend a stupid amount of time running around putting marks all over the place in evident hiding spots. People are not missing this often, it just isn’t possible.

You explain it. Why are my marks not triggering if someone is in an area? Do you honestly think we should believe that we’ve missed a spot 7 times now, with a large number of people searching, many of those people Necromancers putting down marks, which are the best thing to use against stealthed opponents?

not saying AR needs to cap an ebay keep during the ebay primetime.. no point on that, just want to see AR actually take a keep on ebay, anytime, night time, day time, sleepy time, whenever. AR does not touch ebay.

There’s a reason why there’s a queue..to have a limit. I’m pretty sure you guys can queue up a borderland together with us during primetime so we have roughly the same numbers. I’ve never seen bp take and hold 2 of our keeps during prime time. BP BL last night, that was your home borderland..we had roughly the same numbers bp…
Get [WAR], [BURN], and [WFD] in one borderland..you’ll queue it quick. I’m pretty sure these are NA guilds?

Looks like we’ll be stuck in this tier for a while so let’s just make it interesting.

Without Rekz and FTF, Ebay would be Borlis. Until these two guilds show up, Ebay isn’t particularly dangerous. Sure pk can field a zerg but so can Borlis during our high population hours. BP does lack organization and strategy but that comes from being mostly a PUG server.

Thanks but you’re not giving enough credit to those guilds who man our borderlands all the time(mostly by our small to medium sized guilds). That almost solid defense at our home bl..FTF wasn’t responsible for that. Our guild is usually on the offense. Then there’s GH and pK. These 2 big guilds raid almost everyday keeping our ppt high!

Ehmry Bay still got to tier 4 even after 4 major guilds left the server and even before Sekz came We got there by getting an almost 100k lead in this tier. When we fought borlis pass the first time after coming from tier 4, we lost because we thought that we’re going to get another easy win.Before the reset starts for that week, just for lols, we talked about getting the 3 biggest guilds in ehmry bay attack dr bl at reset since they were second the last time we fought them.BP was really out of the picture so we didn’t send anyone there. The following week, we didn’t underestimate bp anymore so yeah we never lost again.

Ehmry Bay was doing just fine at stomping other servers in this tier before Rekz/Sekz even came to this server. Dunno about FTF, I don’t know when you guys showed up.

The founders of FTF played at ehmrybay during the beta. The guild was created roughly 4 hours of the head start in ehmry bay and never transferred and never will.

We did that.

GH and FTF did a joint attack to AR borderlands and took their fully upgraded hills and bay at roughly the same time Saturday night. GH went to bay and FTF to hills.

Props to Anvil Rock’s defense on their garrison that night. That was some tight defense on their garrison. Outer and inner were both down but we just couldn’t take that last keep! GH had to go back to defend home so FTF was left at AR bl. That AR angry zerg that took back their whole borderlands did a good job pushing us out.

Last night, we have over 5 guilds coordinate a rush attack at BP bl. We were able to rally at least 75 people to Borlis Pass Borderlands. It went well despite the many commanders lol.

AR and BP keeping close to our score is making our server united….I like where this is going.

pugs for every server is what makes most of the wvw population. It is the duty of the organized guilds to get the pugs’ morale up. Get your pugs happy and destroy the pugs’ morale of the other servers…you’ll win this points battle.

The asura engi switched to the char guardian and the human warrior switched to the human mesmer.

Still in the beginning, i only counted 4 Ehmry and 6 BP, a 4v6 shouldnt have given them all that much trouble. But they didnt seem to be going into it with much forethought against all the melee/CC/Boons/Stability.

In the 2:19min mark fight it was actually fairly even, its just they didnt coordinated a retreat. One pushed in all alone, while one was completely trapped by CC (why u no stability/invul) and then 3 more we’re just single streaming into the fight. No group up, no invis, more just balls to the wall zerg diving lol probably just trying to have some fun.

Personally, bravo You guys seem like tough customers for BP, dont see many that can put up a solid fight or even bring a strategy with them.

yeah agreed, a 4 v 6 shouldn’t have been a problem. There was no teamplay on the echo guys on this fight. Some of those [WAR] guys are pretty good. I think I 1v1’ed a [WAR] warrior before and neither of us could kill each other. He’s decent with a good amount of survivability and offense. He was a char…don’t know his name though. I was the d/d FTF elementalist that sat and stopped attacking after 10 minutes of fighting to signal that it’s a draw but you kept attacking me so I got my guildees to kill you, then you called your guildees for backup then it’s chaos from then on HAHA!

The following is just my opinion of the WvW match for these three servers.

Ehmry has the skill, and organization of a T2/3 server. But the “active” population of a T4/5 server.

Devona’s has the skill, and organization of a T4 server. But the “active” population of a T6 server.

Borlis Pass has the skill, and organization of a T6 server. But the “active” population of a T3/4 server.

Having spent a considerable amount of time in T3/T4 I can say this. Ebay does not have the server organization of a T3 server. It may feel like it down here but aside from some specific guilds they like to skirmish way too much. They don’t seem to organize their guild zergs but rather go with the flow.

DR are straight up zerkers (not zergers). I liken them to a rabies infected dog. They attack in every direction almost randomly. They seem to have no server wide goals and I am pretty sure most of them could care less about the score. Jumping on a pack of them seems to either be “these guys suck” or “what just crushed us” and it is almost impossible to know until its too late one way or another.

BP… whew. The commanders try but the server is just full of people who are distracted too easily and virtually nobody runs group oriented builds. Even on reset night portal bombs are rare and during siege actions most don’t show up with any supply. Population wise, they are well below EBay at least during NA Prime. Midnight EST on the last reset we were running out manned on every map but our BL. There is virtually zero cross guild coordination.

I think BP was trying to practice portals last night in their BL, it was kinda funny.

Oh I think I saw that. They did that to my guild last night. My guild was going to bay and I asked the guys to stop by the sentry in front of refuge coz I was gonna look at bay’s defense first…Then I said, “guys, bay is undefended and everything is paper, let’s go!” . Then I heard, Noice! they were hiding! They portal bombed on us come quick!. I said , Oh kitten! hold on try to hold em il be there! Wth! something’s immobilizing me! I can’t mooooove! I keep trying to remove it but it keeps on coming back. Then a few seconds later…Noice they wiped..and I went..oh ok xD

That fight at bay last night. We were waiting the whole time for a portal bomb or for you guys to do something to our catapults and you guys never did. You had over 20 people defending that inner bay. When inner gate went down, you guys just gave up and over half of you were gone. You took hills right after that so I guess it’s ok? But where’s the fun fights on that? That’s also the same Saturday when we were defending bay and the outer wall facing garrison is down the whole time. You had a full 40 man zerg ready to take it and when we’re about to attack and get close to you, you all turned back and never bothered to fight back

I noticed that most of your server’s players are from random guilds. You all should create bigger more organized guilds to lead your server’s attacks and defenses. Pugs just give up too easily when losing but members of an organized guild usually stay and fight. Ehmry Bay currently has 3 guilds(gh,ftf,pk) that can hold a borderland by themselves and when sekz decides to start commanding and hold a borderland, we can cover all 4 maps on resets. We do have some guilds that can rally decent amount of people, but not at the 45-60 member range unlike the first 3, that band together to hold a borderland and that works too. The guys who went to DR borderlands last reset were 2 decent sized guilds that can rally averaging 15 members each. I think that was [HIGH] and [SWAT]. We only asked them to at least hold bay but they took the whole borderland instead lol. They got the job done. very nice.

I guess it’s mostly about communication.

Oh trust me lol, we knew we were going to be blue this go around, and we knew Ebay was gonna hit us like a Mack truck so our only concern was holding hills, unfortunate for us, within 2 hours of reset, our forces started bailing out, and it was just watching the green wave from there on out.

It’s that morale issue especially for the pugs. If you lose your garrison at reset, it’s a huge morale decliner.

Had you not noticed the beautifully Red left side of Borlis Pass and the beautifully green right side of Borlis Pass? and 1 1/2 hours into reset EBay was knocking on our North East Garry gate and DR was hitting south west… Then DR and EBay met at center gate it was a race to cap between the two?

I have no clue what the hell happened to Borlis this reset, none of our top guilds seemed to be around. [BURN] was defending, ORL attacking, didn’t hear from GOAT, Dkz, WFD, etc…

In the end, hell of a reset night Ebay, stomping our kitten ..

Also [FTF] from Ebay, loved the action at BP Hills on reset night, fun fight, great fight, wiped each other several times.. all it took was that one stealthed mesmer portal and ya’ll pulled through, nicely done. Well deserved.

Yeah it was a good fight. I was surprised you guys were already there defending the southgate hills right off the bat and you built those arrow carts pretty fast destroying our siege.

All our squads(Alpha – Echo) weren’t ready until like 9PM EST…That’s when we proceeded taking all your keeps. That was the first time I had all my squads in groups and in 1 borderland.We have over 60 FTF’s at Borlis Pass bl last night. It was fun

I think there is some truth to Boss’ statement but it isn’t necessarily nice.

Thing is CD has been double teamed (generally) during NA prime time. We have the lowest population during that time, so we just try to hang on. The consequent talking how we are “bad” is not really called for.

Like last night, EB committed most of their players to hold CD keep. They had (I gave it a rough count) 25+ people defending it. We had about 25 attacking. It made no sense to me that EB would focus CD so hard instead of defending against YB, but it didn’t matter, we ended the night with us higher on PPT scale.

Do we have the right to exact some revenge? Of course. And I’m glad for that. Does it mean it’s malicious trash talk, not necessarily. Same can be said of ANY server that trash talks.

Last night, before the action in eternal bg, we had to fend off a zerg of yaks attacking our borderlands. Our side in eternal was all green that time too. After we wiped the zerg attacking home, we went to eternal to get back our side and then we saw that yaks are attacking your keep.While we were in the process of taking our side back, I sent scouts to scout you two’s battle to keep me updated on the situation.My scouts saw that your keep was severely damaged with outer wall down and inner gate and wall at 50 so we took advantage of it. We attacked yaks from behind, wiped them then started sieging it. I just can’t believe that yaks didn’t stop trebbing that wall from bravost while we were there in the middle of both your servers catapulting that same wall. Well, thanks to that yak treb driver last night, it made that wall go down faster. I was saying this the whole time, “Please don’t stop trebbing yaks please don’t stop trebbing”.It’s just really a coincidence that your keep was already damaged when we went to eternal so we took it and held it for the next 2 hours against both yaks and cd. Also, we had a small team defending our side of eternal bg while all this was going on…so we were actually defending too.

It would have been a different story if you were attacking SM…

so yeah, we’re not JUST targeting you to double team your server. We just take advantage of the situation laid on us when we press m to view the map.

If you were looking at all the maps last night during all the action at CD keep, we had a team take the yaks garrison..I think GH did that and later that night take their bay… maybe hills too?I forgot….which I think was done by PK. So yeah we attack both of you

Echo squad’s leader(Tzenkai) is really picky with his members that’s why he’s only got 12 at the moment. They usually run with an average of 7 members though.

Ehmry Bay currently only has 3 guilds that can rally more than 40 players. That’s FTF, GH, and PK. With the recent loss of some guilds, these 3 guilds tried to get as much people to wvw as they can by recruiting them to their guilds.This resulted in our members’ over all quality as far as skill is involved to go down. Our guild is freakin’ averaging 100 online every night! So we divided FTF into squads and assigned squad leaders to manage and train their members according to their playstyle.

[Guam] is an all Filipino guild on Ebay Jackie Lautchang is the GL. I play with Jackie alot thats how I remember how to spell that last name.

Most of the guys in the guild are Filipino though but a lot of them moved to SBI before free transfers ended sadly. Our guild leader is Noir, a female IRL lol.

It’s a silly idea to decide not to play any week period if that reason has anything to do with what Tier your WvW is in. I’d rather fight outmanned and outgunned in Tier 3 then do the opposite in Tier 4. I’ve had some awesome fights here in Tier 4 though, nothing against anyone here.

Agreed. I guess what sucks is that we’re stuck somewhere between tier 3 and 4 and until something significant changes elsewhere, we’ll never have even matchups again.

IoJ was flap jackin’ crazed tonight! It was non stop. FTF just kept on multiplying or something, we were eventually over run, then backed up over, and then ran over again.

Much like last week, there was a constant ping pong between the three teams. Ebay at the east wall, IoJ at the south. IoJ holds us at garrison long enough to drop a door and get wiped up by Ebay as they steamrolled in and finished it off. We are attacking North Hills, scout reports Large group of IoJ on it’s way.. ninja team disappears and let’s IoJ and Ebay duke it out.

Eventually we got squeezed.

Yeah man, was fun! FTF first went to eternal battlegrounds with GH. After we took everything there, we went to IOJ bl. There was a queue so we couldn’t get all our members to get in…but still great fights tonight! That back and forth was awesome. SoCo and AD got really noticed by my members as 2 of your best guilds. Great D !

I find it a little funny that a guild of fishermen would worship a Sky Deity. So strange. Does it effect your harvest? This is how I am confused by the worship of a single God. How would the Sky God help with water people such as yourselves? I can’t see how he can help.

This is why I worship the 7. Each with different power over elements. Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Bacon, Carbohydrates, Beer, and killing. Sure there are 8, but they vote before they go out and one always stays home.

It looks to me all one needs to do is shovel a mound of dirt or build a false support system under the Sky Ram, and then it’s just a Mortal ram lifted off the ground. To become mortal so easily is not safe for a God. This is why the Shoe Lace God fell to Velcro and Slip On’s when they merged into a sect of knot free foot ware fastening.

We’ve been wvwing for the past 7 hours ever since that fight for bay at our home borderlands against yaks.

These 4 were the oldest guilds of ehmry bay and has stayed on ehmry even during the toughest times.

Lol sorry to tell you , you had 6 commanders I had the intel from on of your guys btw anyhow eBay has guilds that are stepping up because last night I saw guild organized group. Anyhow lets make it clear ladies maguuma GOON power house is no more. GOON is not as big any more. They do have skilled players still around. So you guys are not going against a server that out numbers you or anything. How about this eBay we been at it for so long lets take out the next server that goes against us and then we go to battle. You Guy do have some good guilds out there I will give you that I enjoy a challenge from time to time. I enjoy you guys sending out your top guilds to eBay last night I was having fun at west keep area but then we got called back :/

Was FTF the group that was in Mag BL last week? I honestly dont remember, but whoever you sent at us last week were one tough bunch, props.

My guild’s not taking all the credit for that. FTF was coordinating with SLAY and RP guild that time. But yeah we’re going to yak’s tonight.
