Inviting friends to Play with me?

Keep an eye on the server list and try to catch them if/when the server isn’t completely full. Otherwise, I think your only option is for all of you to transfer to a lower population server. Or have them keep trying until they manage to get through…

How often do you weapon swap, and does it help your play style?

Nyaochan.1756

I play my thief mostly melee style, so I tend to only switch out to my pistols when fighting in a group or with my friend against tougher mobs, or ones that drop a lot of AoE. Except when I accidentally hit the swap button and then things end up getting shot in the face at melee range (and I probably look stupid…XP. I have butterfingers, what can I say?).

Gold Buyers - Lets deal with the cause in addition to the effect.

How do you propose they keep tabs on who’s buying gold, considering the actual transactions are done outside the game, where they have no say? Unless the person that sold to you, or a friend you are stupid enough to tell is a fib and rats you out, no one’s ever going to know about it to report it.

It’s all good and well to say “Hey, guys, stop buying gold, you’re contributing to the problem.”, but let’s not kid ourselves…do you think they care? Nothing you can do about other people’s personal choices, even if they aren’t the brightest.

@Jalliah: I can agree. I think different people react to bugs differently.

Something that gives entertainment shouldn’t warrant all these rant posts on forums. Tips a tad absurd.

I think most of these angry kids who end up rage quitting and posting rants on the forum before they go, instead of just leaving quietly, treat the game more like a job and a competition that they feel they need to become the best as quickly as possible, as opposed to something to be done for fun and to destress.

And guess what? I bet people were whining up a storm in WoW as well when it was only a couple months old and didn’t have all of the content it does now yet (the few original dungeons, one set of “endgame” tier gear to work for, etc…). Sorry, but a game that’s been live for a little over a month isn’t going to have all the content of one that’s been out for years right off the bat.

Also, MMO does not necessarily mean endless game experience. Everything has to end at some point, and that includes games (until they add new stuff, but some people are just too impatient to wait for it…).

Worst. Thief. Ever.
Maybe he’d could actually be stealthy in his home forest, but…yeah…XP. Also, only level 30-something, so no fancy armor to show off yet.

Sexiest/best looking armour for thief?

I wish there was less coats.

If you want to be unconventional and not be rocking a coat or something with a long skirt, go Priory, since their chestpiece is more soldierish. That is, if you don’t actually want to choose an order based on story.

Otherwise, yeah…you’re kind of stuck with longcoats…

I wonder if there will be more juvenile pets to tame in the future. I totally want a raptor. (Oh, Shrieksy, you won my heart. <3)

Ugh, yes. it makes me sad that some of the most kitten creatures can’t be tamed. I want a gryphon or a raptor pet too…D:. If they ever make either of those tameable, I might remake my ranger, who I deleted.

Some new options would be pretty awesome, but at the same time, it would make me feel the need to recreate some of my characters. since there’s no way to alter looks after creation.

I’m pretty sure they will let you change your appearance via cash shop in the not too distant future.

I can’t afford to spend money on frivolous things in games anymore, alas. And as tempting as it is to turn all of my in-game currency in to gems, I kind of probably shouldn’t, because who knows when I’ll need it for something else.

Complaining about lack of players...

“Hey, blood witch spawned, can someone help me kill her?”
“Circle straf, u nub. do it yorself”

What I’m complaining about.

I think that may be less an issue of not having people around than one of no one wanting to fight that boss…I don’t know why, but I have never seen anyone in the area going for her.

As for people complaining about the game dying, they’re just trying to bring everyone down, so it’s best to just ignore them (though I know it’s hard when the majority of topics on the first page are of this type). They don’t like the game, so apparently no one else is allowed to actually enjoy it either.

I think the Ember spawn is the biggest issue. This event is clearly intended to be done by a large group, but the more people you have, the more Embers spawn…and if people aren’t killing them quick enough, they pile up…and then you have 15-20 Embers on the floor spamming AoE death all over the god kitten place.

Kiting them around isn’t exactly a piece of cake when there are red circles of death literally EVERYWHERE…

The more control they have over the forums, and the more trolls they can get rid of, the better, because maybe then we can have more civilized discussions and suggestions without constant insults and demands.

Good luck with that. It seems every time someone tried to start a positive topic, the malcontents feel the need to come in and flood those with negativity as well. It’s pretty sad…saying you like the game in a topic title seems to be an open invitation for them to come in and try to bludgeon anything that’s wrong with it into people who are “unenlightened because they haven’t hit 80” or “don’t know what a good game is”.

I have this issue as well…I thought it might have been an issue with my wireless keyboard receiver, however, I just got a new one, and I still get this (if not as often). Could be a memory issue, as well…or overheating…I don’t know. All I know is that it’s very, very frustrating when I’m just trying to go from point A to point B and my character stops moving every few seconds.

Others are entitled to say they got disapointed at 80, or because of any reason they would feel that.
It’s all feedback, and feedback should never be one sided only.

There are plenty of other threads for them to do so in, yet they feel the need to come in to one that was meant for POSITIVE discussion and start spewing their negativity all over the place, which really isn’t needed.

Are we not allowed to have a thread about liking the game without a bunch of malcontents coming in and going “Oh, just wait until you hit 80…I’m SURE your opinion will change.”

All of you negative nancies need to stop trying to sour everyone else on the game. I, for one, am enjoying it immensely as well, and if I find I don’t enjoy playing at level 80, I’ll probably focus on alts, not whine and ragequit because I don’t like the way a certain zone is designed. Need…more…character slots…argh~

What would you think of ultra-rare drops?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nyaochan.1756

Nyaochan.1756

I think this probably wouldn’t be a bad a thing, especially if lower level mobs had the chance to occasionally drop a nice surprise as well (as world drops…I wouldn’t agree with them all being on bosses, since that would exclude the people that don’t like doing that sort of content…). It would add an element of excitement to just running around killing things…it would be nice to see something besides the usual generic drops every once in awhile…

Of course you’d end up with people who whine because they have bad luck, but there’s nothing you can do about that.

Why are a lot of gamers unsociable?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Nyaochan.1756

So in other words it’s not the games fault for lack of people not wanting to group together? Or does the game encourage solo play outside of dungeons?

Nope, not the game’s fault. I guess gamers just tend to be lone wolves by nature, or prefer to run with people they’re already familiar with. I use to be pretty social when I started playing MMOs (lawl, I think RO was my first, and I used to randomly chat up dead people and sit on their corpses before they made them disappear…>.>)…not sure when that changed, but now I tend to personally only run with friends or alone.

Nyaochan.1756

I’m not really unsociable, I just have issues approaching people I don’t know, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. It also probably doesn’t help that a lot of people have possibly come from other games where the community is pretty toxic, and you tend to get verbally abused for making mistakes in dungeons/group content…I know that kind of put me off running dungeons with anyone but friends when I played WoW…will probably never run them in this game either.

Is GW2 as successful as you hoped?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nyaochan.1756

Nyaochan.1756

Arenanet themselves said that they would not be happy with GW2 unless they were #1, meaning, dethroned WoW.

They clearly have come no where close to that, but they certainly did think it was going to happen, or at least hoped very strongly enough to make a public announcement about it.

Let’s be honest here…anyone who honestly thought this game would have any impact on WoW, with its well-established player-base, is kidding themselves. This is nothing more than some mouthpiece for the company doing his job and talking the game up…companies tend to do that in the name of competition, it doesn’t mean they actual believe a word of it themselves.

Just because the game didn’t kill WoW doesn’t mean it’s bound for massive failure.

I think they may have actually meant to type “goons”.

The letters aren’t close. They must have been angry with some Chinese colleague while typing up the quest description.

Check your qwerty keyboard. k & n are literally next door neighbors.

J I L M are next door, N is near but rubbing up aganist K.

Perhaps they person is just a bad typist. Typos happen…it’s a more reasonable explanation than jumping to a conclusion that someone went out of their way to put a racist term in.

Goon is more in context anyways.

I like doing low level events. Fun and easy and still get 250 karma each time. I don’t need a legendary weapon today. It can come next week or next month for all I care. I have full exotic gear and can do any content, anywhere. That’s good enough for me and the reason I enjoy this game.

I feel the same as well. Sadly, though, I think people like us, who actually have a bit of patience and a higher maturity level are somewhat of a minority. Most of the people complaining about the DR are probably in the “I want my shinies now now NOW!” camp.

And then they complain once they get everything they want, demand more content NOW and ragequit because they purposefully rushed and ran out of things to do when the developer doesn’t immediately fall all over themselves and cave to their demands.

You don’t get it, do you?

If I want to stay in any Orr area and do events and stuff LEGITIMATELY, then I’m still punished by the DR system, because every single of the monsters there is tagged as “risen”.

If I want to farm copper and collectables in order to level my crafting proffessions, then I should be able to do it within a day IF I want to give the required time to the game. Noone should tell me “ok,enough copper and collectables for today from this area”. Especially when the amount of materials needed for each crafting tier are humongous.

Additionally,I will just ignore your 2nd paragraph, because that’s just generalization and it’s only there to try to make your argument stronger due to lack of actual facts. Sorry, but the request is only one and it’s simple: Remove the diminishing returns.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but most of the players who ask for this are aware of how long bugs take to fix or how long new content takes to be created. If you haven’t,then you only prove your blindness and bias towards anyone who makes a complain about something.

You can still go farm your money by relocating to different areas regularly. In the end, it’s your own problem if DR is kicking in and your too stubborn to go farm somewhere else for a bit. It’s a HUGE world, but instead of making maybe slightly less than you would be farming the max level areas, you would rather not make anything at all because you’re too stubborn to backtrack.

It’s really not that hard to make money/get stuff by just running along the roads back through previous areas and just killing everything you run across. And you’d be constantly switching areas/seeing different mob variety, and so DR wouldn’t be kicking in as prominently.

And if you can’t actually use the mats you pick up doing this, then just sell them. Less income is still better than none at all.

No, you don't get to play "however you want."

Who here thinks the medium armor appearances are mediocre to poor?

I have to agree too…I love my sylvari thief, but I feel a bit bummed and discouraged about rolling a medium armor class first since most of the armors are just…meh. Especially on males…and even more so the sylvari medium cultural gear…do not want.

I’ll be going Priory for the chest, since that seems to be the only passable skin that isn’t a coat on male characters (Vigil doesn’t do it for me).

How much longer will you play with the DR system as is?

I won’t be going anywhere any time son. granted, I don’t have any characters at 80 yet because I’m apparently the slowest leveler EVER (which I don’t mind, I’m in no rush). This game really -wasn’t- meant for people who feel the need to rush through everything and don’t have the patience to earn money for what they want over months instead of days/weeks.
