Same. It happened to us 3 times in the same pvp match. The third time i was kittened so i didnt even bother login back in.
Please tell me what part of my thread is QQing? I’m not expressing personal opinion over the “make-or-break” case, I’m presenting the vibe from the Ranger community. At worst I’m putting forward a pessimistic outlook for what could be the case upon the release of the Druid, and the less-than-optimal conditions leading to its reveal. I have nowhere in this thread moaned about it though.
Firstly, you’re entire OP was generic Ranger-whine. Secondly, the forums are a great place to get an outsized view of the QQ segment of any given profession playerbase.
What you conveniently leave out of your OP is the fact that, for every QQ post on the Ranger subs, there are a sizeable number of posts that, eloquently or not, refute the QQ. Of course there are bugs—there are bugs in every profession. That doesn’t mean that Ranger is “broken” or not fun.
My guess is that confirmation bias lead you to believe that the Ranger subs are all in agreement with your opinion, enabling you to appoint yourself their representative.
This just goes to show you play so little of the ranger profession. Just to the “Rangers Bugs” thread and compare the amount of bugs this class have comapred to others. Now go have a look at tournaments and count the number of players playing the ranger class(I will make it easy for you its 0). Now go take a look at the number of rangers in party for dungeons. If thats not enough proof for you that the ranger class is one of the most hated classes – even from a perspective of arenanet (considering the amount of feedback on the ranger forum but no response from AN).
The fact that I main a ranger because I have fun playing it doesnt justify the state of rangers in this game.
So it has been confirmed that we only have 2 more BWEs (including the one in september 4) for HOT expansion, but only the last one will have druid and engineer elite specialization for testing. I am a bit sad about it since I main ranger and while the other elite specializations are having between 2-3 BWEs to be tested, the ranger and engineer specializations are only getting 1. Now I know that the devs will still continue to improve the elite specializations after the expansion is out, but we all know that the focus on the elite specializations is alot higher during the BWE since there will be alot more content to be looked on (like raids, pve, WvW etc) when the expansion is out.
Whats your thoughts about it?
Got same problem, just mine is happening even in the city. I know other people have the same issue and they all say it happened after last patch. My fps drops to 5-8 when I am in city and the all game slows down (including the audo ). I just cant play like this.
nvidia released new drivers a few days ago – did you update? Maybe that’s the problem? and compensation.. oh please!
I have tried downloading and installing the lastest drivers but it still happening. When I am underwayter and facing the wall the fps is normal, but as soon as I look at the sky or try to go to the city I get instant drop in performance. It slows the enitre game, even the audio ( I hear statics in the audio and the ALL game is REALLY slow). I am pretty sure it got something to do with the last patch and AN needs to fix this ASAP.

after the new patch my game ran considerably slower than before , i am playing on an older machine so the performance was very noticable

Same thing happened to me. Never had this problem before the patch but now I get max 10 fps(it used to be 30 fps min) and my ping is also doubled..
I am having the same issue but my fps is dropped to 8-10 at max. I have tried changing all of the settings to best performance but nothing chande. The game is running completely like trash. Its like i have MASSIVE lags but its my fps (its even affecting the audio). Now I dont have a really good computer but I have never had this problem before this patch ( before this patch I was easily able to get 30-40 fps but now my max fps is 10).
I have also noticed that the game appearance is really good compared to what it was before patch. Maybe there was a graphic update with this patch that totally ruined my performance?
Please AN take a look a this problem because I just cant play the game with this proble.

This skill is actually really good. Or better said – should be and is intended to be.
The skill and it’s proposed functionality is at it’s finest.The fact that it is bugged as hell doesn’t change the one that the skill would be powerful if it got fixed. The topic of the thread is about it’s functionality – that with all due respect – is not that bad.
I liked the former version better, but that doesn’t change anything about it still being a fine healing skill. Getting it buffed is strange.
We need to get it fixed, which again, has absolutely zero connection to what this topic tries to discuss.To get you an overview of what’s going on.
Is the trap okay? No.
Is it intended to be okay? Yes.
Does being bugged mean the skill needs changes? No. It needs fixing. A lot of it.

Yeah I know this skill is intended to work, But you cant really enjoy the skill if its bugged thart much. I get what you saying, I thought the OP talked more about the bugs of this skill rather than the functionality of it.But then again you cant say this skill works well or “I dont have any problem with it” when it have lots of bugs. Imo I think people need first to focus on the bugs of this skill and once they are fixed its alot easier to focus on the actual skill it self. A skill cant be tested to it fullest while being bugged.

Healing spring was a trap in gw1 so there ya go.Ive been using it for a bit now and i dont really have any problems with it…
It activates just as “instantly” as it used to except it doesnt if allies with full health enter it.
Which imo isnt a bad thing, why would you want your healing skill to activate on a full health ally?Also pre setting numerous healing springs.
Also,its not a fire field…i dont know why would you want to have a water field right before you enter a fight
What you talked about isnt the all problem about this skill. The bugs of this skill as mentioned in the ranger bugs thread:
“Healing Spring does not heal allies/pets.
Healing Spring can be placed up to 4 times.
Healing Spring does not activate when used at full health and losing health while inside the trigger area. Player must exit then re-enter the trap area to activate.”
Notice the last sentence – players need to exit the skill and then enter again in order to get the healing , and as far as I know this skill doesnt heal allies or pets. I am pretty sure thats not how a trap skill supposed to work (once you entered the trap it should keep working instead of reactivating only if you re-enter it). So yeah this skill is bugged and its not as perfect as you(and other people) keep trying to prove.

I’m not fine with the delay, either.
But I can tell it’s intended. I’ve had my years of game-time and logical coding behind programming development to say this.The 1st phase of coding is not about “balance” or “quality of life”. It’s whether it makes sense or not. That’s the only reasoning behind Pet Swap traits “nerfs” that never were nerfs in the 1st place, but bugfixes because they didn’t make sense in their former functionality (an ability with CD of 30 seconds is illogical to be used every 16etc).
The same now goes with Healing Spring. Do we like it? No. Does it make sense? Yes. What can we do about it?
EXPLAIN why it should be changed. Because if the only reason is “we don’t like it” then it’s as good as writing poetry. If you feel like it – create a topic about Healing Spring, why should it be illogically the only trap that doesn’t work like a trap, provide analysis and we can talk.I’m kinda lazy to do it since I don’t really use HS in any other build than bunkering, and there I don’t find it much of a problem.
I die to my Sword and GS leaps that cause me to get stunlocked in immobilize a billion times more often than having Healing spring on a delay of half a second.
But we dont just say “we dont like it” , we bring facts about it being bugged. The HS skill sometimes just doesnt heal you or your pets even if you go out and in it. It just doesnt work properly, if not working at all. The fact that AN team decided to put the word “Trap” next to the skill name doesnt justify the skill not working as intended. A trap should work always when you stand on it, not when you leave it then enter then leave then enter. I agree with you that the arming time of the skill isnt a bug and its more of a convenience matter but I still think the skill should be the same way it used to be. I dont care if I wont get the traits regarding traps for this skill but I am sure that the MAJORITY wants this skill to be fixed.
Oh and by the way there is a bug thread for rangers in this forum, and this skill as well as the immobilize bug you are talking about, are mentioned in there several times. But still no fix to be find.

I believe that the hundreds of complaints about the bugs (Healing Spring included) are enough of an uproar, aren’t they?We are close to only class with such complex, clear and diligent threads about what needs to be changed and what must be fixed on our class.
And there are miles of walls of text out there in the bug forum section (some ignored, some fixed), as well as the ones in our class section.Mentioning the same problems over and over again is pointless. Especially this one about healing spring which is intended just like Sword AA chain.
The bug about HS has already been mentioned in 4 threads already, as far as I know. The delay is something the community had to expect when Developers made it a trap. It has it’s pros, it has it’s cons.EDIT: I can bet on my shoes that if the change got reverted, threads about how people were fine with it and they could pre-set it and how it was awesome would appear.

I have to disagree with you. A delay like this is never something to be expected, and especially not to be ok with. Almost 2 months past since the patch that made this a bug and we havent seen even a response about it. Even though we had a bug fix patch after the specializations patch, it didnt even fixed any of the really problematic bugs of ranger. I dont understand why AN team doesnt see this as a major bug that need to be fixed before other stuff (and I am almost certain it doesnt take much effort since we just want the old skill back). This just goes to show how much AN devs cares about balance and bugs in this game , especially when it comes to rangers.
AN team needs to bring back (exactly) the same HS skill we had but just classify it as a trap skill( so it will still benift from traits that regard traps). No one – not rangers or other players such as enemy players – complained about HS skill but AN ruined this skill.
People probably asked for it alot of times but I want to discuss this problem once again, especially that the Druid is a really good chance for AN to fix the AI of the pets. Now one of the problems that the AI of pets has is that the pet will follow me only if I go in a route that is possible for him to follow. For example, if I jump down a small hill the pet will go around the hill in order to get to me.This crates a big problem, especially in PVP where you often jump down high places or try to go to high places that the pet cant follow me directly in there (for exapmle getting to mid from the boxes in Battle of Kyhlo). It happens quite often and you dont have your pet near you when it does, which sucks. I know I can swap my pet but it can happen in combat, which means i just wasted the swap and got a cd on it.It can also take quite some time untill the pet gets to me, considering pets movment isnt that high.
So can you pls solve this? maybe let the pets teleport to you when you jump down a hill?
Edit: also just to be clear the pet will teleport only if the distance is really big but on most of the hills and structures it will go arounsd them.

Its a common bug and I am sure AN team already know about it. They either ignore it or just cant fix it. Either way I dont see this bug getting fix anytime soon.
“Go For The Eyes” blind is only 3 seconds instead of 5 seconds as written in the tool tip. I tested it on several pets and on all of them is 3 seconds. can someone also test it and confirm it?
Thats the all idea of the map, otherwise AN wouldnt let this happen. If you dont want to get knocked then get stability or get behind a wall, you can aviod it if you plan your moves just like in any other map. If you cant handle it then play ranked or vote for another map and thats it , its just one map out of almost a dozen and it aint gonna change (and I am actually happy about it).

Okay – Its been added, anyhows. It should not clear from allies without trait and clear with.

Last I checked others can ‘suggest’ which means their change requires approval I believe.
I get little boxes beside the page, with a checkmark and an x.
So even if someone wants to troll, all i have to do is push my autoclick button and it all goes away

I know you (ArenaNet team) are busy on HoT expansion and I understand the focus being placed on it, but still it feels like ages since the last balance patch. People keep complaning about things that need to be balanced (fire for example) or some classes that need to be toned down a bit (cele ele is one of them). Same goes for classes bugs that just ruins the exeprince and gameplay of them .As a ranger player I know that are alot of them and I am sure that other classes have the same issue. I was hoping the newest patch will do something about, but once again I was wrong. Again, I know the first priority is the expansion but I still thinks that patches like this are not less important.
Can you at least tell us if there will be any balance/bugs fix patch this month and if not approximately when it will be? Please?..
+1 We need this to be the same as it used to be.
This bug happens to me all the time and I know why. Its basically when you get the boon after you start stomping – the animation wont synchronize with the boon, so when the bar of the stomp is over you will need to wait for a full 1-2 seconds to finish the actual normal stomp. I have opened a thread about this quite a while but got no response..

If you use QZ, or someone pops up quickness, while you are stomping (during everypoint of the animation) the quickness wont have an active effect on the stomp. By that I mean you will see the skill bar of the stomp goes quicker but the animation it self still is normal (so the skill bar will end before the animation). Also, if you cancle the stomp (for example by moving) even after the skill bar is over, then the down player wont be stomped.For me this causes alot of confusion and its really annoying. The same happens if you have Zephyr’s Speed trait on, and you swap pets after you started to stomp (or if you start to stomp even 1 sec after you swap pets – because the quickness boon will be over during the stomp).

This sounds more like a general problem with quickness, so I’m not sure its appropriate for the ranger thread.
I know that, thats why the thread I opened was in general bugs and not specific
about rangers. A person mentioned this bug in this thread so I aproved of it.
Also, its alot more common with rangers (because they have1 skill and 1 trait that give quickness) so its kinda relevant to rangers.

If Lightning Reflexes is interrupted, it will be set on full cooldown with granting Vigor, Condition Removal (Traited) or Fury (Traited).
Mmm. Well, its an instant-cast, so you should get all the boons regardless.
What I don’t understand is how it can be interrupted, seeing as its an instant-cast evade?
Do unlockable dazes like necro horn go through? Can’t say I’ve ever had that happen to me …

The thing I hate about rangers right now that you need to sacrifice to much in traits and in skills so I can get a balanced build. I cant put both piercing in LB and have Remorseless, If I want Quick Draw i need to have Skirmishing trait line but the the other traits in their are useless to me.. It just feel like you either got a dps build or a bunker build and you cant combine dps and stabillity at the same time.
However, I am still having fun with my main ranger and with my current build (if I pull the skills just qucikly enough) I am able to stay alive in groups fights and 1vs1 pretty good.
So anyone else had this issue? it keep happening and its so annyoing

Anyone else feels like rangers are way weaker than most if not all of the classes and got low potential to use?
I dont want to complain because I really like the changes put in to rangers but compared to the other classes its crap. Before the patch I felt that I can help much more to the team but now its like stay back because everyone 1 shots you but you cant really 1 shot them.
AN can really put some more work in to rangers because right now ranger is a PVE class and not PVP class. Am I the only one who feels like that?
I am not sure if its a bug or it is supposed to be like that but i found out that if you pop out quickness during a Finish move on a player the quickness wont apply to the animation and you will contuine to finish the player like in normal state. I mean that the skill bar of the finishing move will go off and only 2 seconds or so after it went off the player will be dead( that is if i dont move otherwise its being canceled).
As I said I am not sure if its a bug or not, but its really annyoing because you think that the player is dead after the skill bar is over but you need to wait a few more seconds so he will actually die (it also can happen if someone pops out quickness for you and you wont even notice it).
anyway, I hope AN will take care of it because its really a problem for me and i have heard a few more having this problem in pvp.
