1.That kittening mug!
Other than that there’s really nothing i take major issue with Anet has done an amazing job and i really enjoy their work.
i got around 2.5k getting to 80 but i did some other stuff as well.
I’m sure the WvW borderland will be free visiting a GH will be free (maybe not buying one though) the new SPVP game mode should be free but maybe not without a GH?
specializations depend on how much impact they have on SPVP maybe free there but locked in PVE?
I can’t say anything for certain but this seems the most likely.
I think leveling in GW2 is somewhat necessary since alot of people will start the game with the personal story and be hungry for more if they had instant access to the whole thing they would blow through it in a few days then sit around not bothering to enjoy the rest of the game and eventually leave.
Whereas having the PS gated with leveling will force players to stop and try the actual game so they can find out they like it enough to play for a long time.
I would say it’s more that the devs are confident in their content but safeguarding against people who would only do one thing then leave without trying anything else and complain there’s nothing to do; and I KNOW you know someone like that don’t pretend you don’t.
That said Anet could stand to update some lower lvl content in a meaningful way living story season 1 did an amazing job with that breathing new life into some older areas giving us a great experience.
Then it was all gone and everything went back to relative normality.
HoT looks amazing and I’m really looking forward to it but it’s geared towards max lvl which is fine the story has to advance and putting it at a lower level wouldn’t make any sense whatsoever.
But it reinforces the “endgame mentality” of rushing to lvl 80 and ignoring lower lvl content.
For the longevity of the game lower lvl areas/content should be updated in a lasting way to increase the considerably substantial replay value alot of it already has and more low to mid lvl accessible content has to be added.
For it to be truly lasting in my opinion it should be removed (not completely) from the living story going forward but given more consideration for it’s own merit.
Questions about Pricing and Payment [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Oldyoung.6109
$30 would irritate me to no end but I’d pay it; more than that would make me angry
less than that I pretty much bought it already.
I’m sure you will be able to invite people to your guild hall and show it off but I can’t see them adding an alliance system since the guild system is so different from GW1.
Both campaigns came with 2 new professions and 1 character slot each
The expansion came with no professions and no character slots
I expect they will give us 1 extra character slot
Vizu
Turai Ossa
Khilbron
mostly because they were directly involved in the most important parts of gw lore before the dragons; similar to Jalis.
Yeah business as usual until the next update; on the other hand opens some options in the meantime.
On the subject of re-watching cut-scenes I’d like to see the Scrying pool make a return to the HoM especially since wardrobe and mini updates mean the only people who have a reason to go there now are rangers and that’s only a one time trip.
what about dungeon based couriers?
•Royal Ascalonian courier
•Seraph courier
•Nightmare court courier
•Dredge courier
•Flame legion courier
•Kodan courier
•Inquest courier
•Risen courier
This JP was AMAZING! (aside from those kittening tunnels)
but what do i do with the dowsing rod?

Proposal Overview:
Personal Influence that players can donate to the guild of their choice or spend at guild vendors.
Goal of Proposal:
I’m not a fan of being in a large guild and to me a small guild has very little to offer so the guild commendation vendor is someone who doesn’t take me seriously which is annoying since he has some great items for non-guild players.
when I’m not in a guild i get influence scrolls from things like the personal story or black lion chests which tend to pile up in my bank or inventory with no real use currently.
Proposal Functionality:
along with earning influence for your guild you earn an influence currency for yourself which you can donate to your guild another guild you belong to or spend on guild vendors like the current commendation vendor, guild armorer and guild weapon smith and any new guild based vendors that may be added.
this empowers players in a guild by giving them a measurable sense of importance in their guild while giving non-guilded or members of small guilds better availability of guild vendors.
things that currently give influence still give influence to the guild but would also add to the players store of influence aside from personally based sources like scrolls.
guild missions would still give influence, items and merits but instead of commendations players would get influence consumables.
guild reputation builder vendors would give personal influence to allow players to easily earn personal influence they require for the vendors which doubles as a gold sink.
Associated Risks:
players “selling” influence to guilds
guilds inviting players asking for their influence then kicking them
long boring meetings
players not given a large incentive to donate to guilds of their own volition
Proposal Overview:
Centralized in-game guild advertising
Goal of Proposal:
for someone who doesn’t have a guild it can be hard to find a guild that’s right for you and for someone who wants to advertise their guild it can be hard to find people with similar interests especially if real life taps you on the shoulder.
also reduces map chat spam.
Proposal Functionality:
players go to a specific npc or signpost which opens a menu of available guilds with their name, emblem, number of players, and a description set by members of that guild with the appropriate permissions.
players can then choose to apply to a guild that guild officers may then accept or deny.
Associated Risks:
Inactive guild clutter
guild descriptions not matching the what the guild actually does
descriptions that violate the ToS; hate-speech, gold selling, etc.
depending on how it’s implemented it could require a considerable amount of work and maintenance.
Nobody wins; Asura make a ridiculously powerful weapon they lose control of and all life on Tyria is wiped out.
they make it because the legions are closing in.
when the six brought humans to Tyria Balthazar was all like “do battle and conquer in my name!” so a decent amount of humans went to Ascalon the homeland of the Iron legion the Charr fought well but couldn’t compete with the humans use of magic given to them by the six and were driven out of Ascalon.
So very specifically the Flame legion made a deal with the titans to get magic for the Charr to strike back against the humans and retake Ascalon the Flame legion also instituted the shaman caste and basically enslaved the other legions with the help of the titans.
the titans are then destroyed so the Flame legion has to quell unrest while they work something out to stay in control they find this in the form of Destroyers.
so Ascalon is mostly under Charr control the Flame legion is happily being kittens to everyone and in the north a Blood legion ranger by the name of Pyre Fierceshot with the help of a human hero or two rescues his warband who are being held prisoner by a prominent Flame legion shaman and his lackeys killing said prominent scumbag legion shaman in the process inciting a revolt against the Flame legion with his famous speech eschewing the false gods (Destroyers and essentially all other gods while he’s at it) because the Charr need no gods.
but the losers in the Sucktown fizzle legion don’t have the spines to think for themselves and still even to this day try to control the other legions and will worship just about anything uglier than they are to achieve that goal.
so it’s a combination of cultural political and historical reasons why the Charr eschew religion.
I think WvW needs some balance and mechanics tweaks more than anything else.
for instance dolyaks are extremely important since the supplies they deliver make a huge difference but there’s almost no mechanical support for defending them; a single player with a decent build can easily ignore defenders and kill the dolyak to counter this you need enough players to stop the attacker before they kill the dolyak which is difficult without immediate quantifiable incentives for defending them and is thrown out the window if a couple more enemies show up.
my proposal in this particular instance is having buff for the dolyaks that scales with allies near it (NPCs too) maybe 25% damage reduction per ally which would force the enemy to engage the defenders instead of simple hit and run although it should be turned of within a certain area around its destination for clutch plays and to reward dedicated raiders.
another example is SMC outer walls being almost useless given the amount of trebs hitting it around the clock meaning the attacking team only has to get through a single door to attack the lords room which is less mechanical defense than a keep.
my proposal for this is worker NPCs who run back and forth to repair the walls not fast enough to ignore treb damage but enough to require coordination with someone to get in through the hole in the wall and kill the workers this means the effectiveness of trebs isn’t diminished but the walls have some actual use besides anti-flip which the lord gets as a buff anyway.
also SMC should have another door it’s a castle not some flimsy keep!
other things that could use tweaks are effectiveness of defenders vs. attackers(travel time, scoring, running through enemy zerg to defend), targeting in regards to walls, mercenary camps, NPC functionality, and outpost upgrade versatility but as all i have for these is wild ideas with no real knowledge of how things would react with what’s in place or general game balance and in the pursuit of brevity i won’t go into detail.
it’s a great story but yeah definitely spread out over too long it was better when it was coming out every 4 weeks so they could balance the updates better for instance edge of the mists had very little to do but alot of neat story and escape from Lions arch is fun but doesn’t add enough story whereas flame and frost updates or zephyr sanctum added things to do people to talk to and places to go all at once.
hopefully they can balance season 2 updates better but i do really like the story. (aside from the ham fisted fractal tie in)
as part of the conversation over at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fractured/Lore-Scarlet-and-the-Reactor-It-fits I believe I have found the rest of them along with the help from Soneilon and Treelines maps.
What about the ones in WvW?
I’ve gone though around 15 invasions always take the stash but haven’t gotten them yet.
it seems like they would be a gem store set though i’m hopeful the dungeon will be permanent and the rewards would be like other dungeons.
not likely but i can hope
the legs and torso are t2 cultural the gloves appear to be the orrian event exotic armor and the shoulders are draconic(crafted exotic)
had this problem i started to send a support ticket followed the auto response problem solver links to recover account instead of change password and the reset password prompt let me do it no problem and that solved the issue
i think the “change password” option on account management is having issues
