@Indo, we have fun where the fun is to be had – balanced fair fights for all 3 servers in a Tier. If it means we belong to T4/T5 so be it. We never had any T1 aspirations given the kind of server we are – we’re lighthearted guys overall who just want to have some fun with friends and have a good time while staying competitive.
We haven’t reached T2 due to any massive influx (and I’m definitely not pointing any server out there, merely speaking of my server). We started at lower tiers, and climbed all the way up learning new stuff, making new friends (even amongst our enemies!), facing some great opponents, and so on.

As long as that tradition continues, I don’t mind staying whatever Tier TC is in – since I know the friends I made here are to stay here and will fight regardless of the odds and ratings!

Also, we’re not annoyed that SoR is going to t1 or that you’re bigger than us. We’ve been annoyed at how you’ve handled yourself as a server and how your ‘community’ will throw out any sportsmanship or decency for a a little higher rating. I would love to lose badly and move down to t3/t4 and slowly work ourselves up. I just want to have fun, can’t have that while SoR is in our tier and while you’re posting in our match threads.

I find it hard to believe that anybody from TC would fall that low. Maybe it’s server pride making me naive but still. It probably came from someone in t1 after scouts found your info.

But only Zuer’s advice actually works in practice.

Taking the high road, doing whats best for the game as a whole, becoming part of the solution etc.. it isn’t what most people do — as such if you want to have even fights for the most part you just have to hop on the bandwagon.

ANet would be to make the first step here and I believe the player base would (slowly) follow.

I’m in tier 3 and on every day that isn’t Friday 1-2 borderlands are completely vacant of people from my server. It gets even worse the lower you go. Too many servers, not enough wvw players imo.

I agree that there are top many servers. They should probably merge the last two tiers.

Funny that this was started by a guy on a T2 ranked server. If you’re in a T2 server how are you having population problems. Come to BP and complain then. We’re not even the worst off. Also, you’re battling the same servers week after week because you fall into the same category, based on your rating. Once they implement paid transfers and remove the free ones I think you’ll see WvW improve. Fairweather guilds won’t be so quick to head for greener pastures. They’ll stick it out.

I made this post because I believe this would improve the longevity of GW2 WvW and it should have nothing to do with my server. I have been on both sides of the scenario and can attest to it being less fun for all parties for a single server to vastly outnumber others or vice versa.

*If it’s because your server doesn’t WvW much then transfer to a server that does.

Other people shouldn’t be denied fun because of your server’s laziness/low population. That’s not their fault.

I feel that a similar argument could be used in reverse.

*If your server is capped in a BL, go to another.
*If it’s because your server is inflated with WvW players, transfer to a server that isn’t and become part of the solution rather than the problem.

Other servers shouldn’t be denied fun (not able to compete) because of stacked server populations.

They would have to implement a “floor” though – “gaming” your proposal by only sending in an “elite squad” of 5 to artificially cap your opponents at 10 would be rather lame as well.

They have also already said that transfer costs will be determined by Server population (though I doubt at the costs you are suggesting).

Another thing they can do is add Average WvW Population for the week to the Ratings calc – that way the Servers that truly can accomplish more with less will be rewarded.

I agree, a ~100 player floor per map would be reasonable.

Another idea might be to give significant buffs (power/prec/vit/toughness/etc) to servers fielding a lower number of players. The amount of the buff would be dependent on how outnumbered they are.

While this would fix some of the imbalance, I don’t think it would solve the issue of Superservers. People would still stack on servers and beat down the buffs with superior numbers.

Agree, but Anet pretty much implied that WvW is a numbers game. “It’s about the world, not the individual” or something along those lines. If you want a skill matchup go sPvp.

WvW is about zerg, who can field more men, and coverage. It’s frustrating because these are out of any individuals control. Not enough players on your server? Too bad, just hope someone bandwagoned to your server.

To add to what mariloboboo said, the reason SoR is dominating us at this point is because of two reasons.
1) They are a stacked server. Guilds from IoJ, CD, SBI all flocked there. They have superior numbers and superior coverage. That’s why were out here trying to get people to help us. We’re firmly standing our ground and we’re gaining ranking but we do need to round out our coverage.
2) We are currently 1v1’ing them because SBI is a dead server (see point 1). Without another server to help us deal with their superior numbers/distract them/give them a different front to fight, everyone of their players flock to any borderland where we’re fighting them. As a result, the entire weight of the SoR server is on our backs and while we’re defending what we’ve got they’re able to completely upgrade any area that we’re not attacking. If there was another server in the mix, SoR would not be able to focuses almost exclusively on offense.

We’re able to keep a 250+ PPT for almost anytime that we don’t have coverage gaps. There are also times when we are at 300-400+ PPT despite SoR having queues in every BL. If there was another server capable of fighting SoR as well and at least getting to 150-200 PPT, this match would be much fairer closer.

In conclusion, we need coverage and we need to not be 1v1’ing a server that plainly has more people than we do.

Are you looking for EU guilds only, or will you welcome solo EU players too? If you do, are there commanders or groups/guilds already running in the server to join? And will there be people to fight or will it be PvD action. Normally wouldn’t think about trying a NA server, but it cought my eye being a RP server too and Piken WvW community is currently in a civil war with the new transfers because the core community that built the server can’t play together because of ques, I don’t get a warm feeling playing there anymore.

Hey, Obaks! Pleasure to hear from you and we would love to have you on TC. We have several international guilds on our server but I don’t believe we have any EU only guilds. You don’t need to worry about PvDOOR at all. The reason why we’re looking for more EU coverage (among others) is because we’re a bit out manned so you will always have people to fight. You also need not worry about fighting alone either, we are just looking for people to round out our light coverage. Feel free to drag anyone else interested in RP and WvW from EU :P Let me know if you have any other questions.

I think you should research server communities and then pick based on that. All servers have room and any server t3+ is there to stay once transfers cost money. (That means they’ll have to pay to leave too) If you jump on a server that you think will be strong and that’s the only reason, you may end up stuck in a community that you regret.

I believe I speak for all of TC when I say that we have nothing but the utmost respect for SBI. You guys have been dealt a raw hand and I’m impressed in those who stayed (and those who joined). I’m not certain I would have had the willpower to do the same. Keep up the good fight and I wish you the best.

I’m sure we have better coverage than most t4/t3 servers. It just feels like that isn’t the case because SoR has been stacked.

• WvW Success – We’re a NA Tier 2 server that has climbed the WvW ladder without the aid of massive transfers. We got there by hard work, skill, teamwork, and innovation – which we bring to the battlefield every day.

• Organization – 10,000 slot server-wide mumble with dozens of guilds participating; coordinated, multi-guild pushes; server-wide guild meetings; active server-wide community forums with over 850 registered members.

• Innovative Strategies – We are on the cutting edge of WvW tactics and strategy. Hi, Boreslayer.6204! I hope you consider Tarnished Coast.. Without a doubt, your guild would make the biggest difference on TC and even if you only had 5 guys, you would still be treated as royalty. TC has a very very strong NA prime time that got us all the way to t2. Now we’re battling coverage gaps of tier 1 caliber servers but firmly standing our ground. Meaning we wont be moving down to t3 but we do need a little help to continue moving forward. So if you want to make a difference, be apart of a very competitive experience and join arguebly the best community on GW2 , TC would be a wonderful choice.
