Location – Darkhaven Borderlands under Hero’s Lodge camp.
Time – Right now (at post time)

Standard Tips/Rules
- /bow before duel
- Duel ends on down
- Anyone who interrupts should be warned, if continued of being an interruption, they should be downed and told again, never finished unless necessary.

Everyone is welcome, come quick.

Impromptu, and informal. Mainly organized just so I can get some practice. Come ;D.

Voila, my old set of armour with stats since I haven’t bothered to customize the look of my new armour and it looks horrid. But with new armour my stats change to:
1862 power
1574 precision
1705 toughness
1529 vitality
48% crit damage and 35% crit chance

from what i understand , if things continue down current path we will see.

Who ever comes in 3rd this week (dr or ioj) will move down to t7 and SF will come up to our tier.

The next week one of two things will happen. Either we move up to t5 and their 3rd place comes down ….or….

the remaining server from dr/ioj will also make the decent into t7 and Henge will come up. giving us the DH/SF/HoD fight that id like to see….and t7 would then be DR/IoJ/Shiv peaks….which i think would be perfect for those folks.

Im really hoping we dont move up to tier 5 until we have a chance to face SF/HoD i think a couple weeks facing them will really take our fair weather wvw’ers and turn em into full timers…..then and only then will we have a real shake at t5 and maybe t4..in the distant future.

Have you seriously learned nothing about how the majority of DR cares nothing for points? You plan on PvDooring out maps down to 0 PPT? Congrats, superior coverage! Skill? not so much.

It’s funny annoying DH. Tag stomemist when they own the entire map and see what comes out? Bad things happen.

I’m a necro though with a staff so I dont’ really have problems with giving back your confusion to you. I just feel sorry for the other classes.

People always make this mistake. It was NEVER reduced in sPvP. sPvP is the original state of confusion. It was BUFFED in PvE and as a counter product, WvW as well because it was utterly useless against mobs.

For any of the DH that saw me at southwest tower in DR border… Sorry for getting sucked into the wall :[ I hopped onto the ledge beside the portal and it dragged me in. At least I just sat there and waited!

Edit: After the tower flipped back to our side, I tried to blink out and it wouldn’t let me. So I couldn’t even waypoint out of there when it was under DH control due to being in combat.

DH everywhere… 20+ in IoJ border, got a hefty size running around their own border, who knows how many in EB, and they have a presence in DR border as well. So many. Do not enjoy.

You can go ahead and go to other parts of the map if you want fun, I’m trying to establish a different kind of fun for others who are interested.

A fightclub once a week is pretty fun imo, a fun alternative for the rest of the 6 days doing same stuff over and over.

Just saw a DR Guild under the tag of ECHO with the name “Omg we r so pro guyz” and had a laugh at that. I can only imagine what Echo squad did to annoy this person.

Bumping this post in hopes of attracting more attention to a large fight club tonight.

The fight in the SW camp of SBI borderlands a few minutes ago was rather fun. Started out as myself holding against three SBI, followed by a random mesmer from my side joining in, then the numbers only increased as time went on. Alas, the camp was taken but at least I had some decent fights out there, and there was a lovely guardian who took the time to bow.

Since there’s a lot of calls for fight club to be turned into a regular thing, how about we settle on a day and time now. Kaineng had a really good setup when they rolled by. they’d do it every thursday night when the score was basically settled and done before reset. So, every thursday around 7 or 8 server time? Time is easily debatable.

Hopefully we can get some folks to show up and do a fightclub thing tonight. I’m hoping maybe ~8:30pm server time? Things really slow down after that time in my server so most group activities are done.

Fightclub things don’t really prove anything btw but they do tend to promote better relations since there are kind of informal standards of conduct etc. Obviously some classes match up more competitively than others but if some variety shows up then you can usually find someone to spar with.

ps Try to leave at least one spot open if you are in a group so that you can chat with whoever you are dueling before and/or after the duel. (not fair to thieves if you stay in party during duel).

Any borderland is fine but access is easiest for players from outside their home BL so they can just scoot out the side exit from spawn to get their quick and easy.

I’m up for this I’ll see if I can get some of my guildies to come.

Saying players enjoy it is hilariously fallacious. Players enjoy botting in games too, and others enjoy griefing. That doesn’t make it right.

The fact is this directly hurts WvW efforts. But don’t take my word for it. Colin Johanson is the one who complained about people taking queue spaces.

Confusion got nerfed in sPvP people seem to be forgetting that the reason they don’t nerf it in WvW is because it would ruin confusion in PvE. Now before people start griping about splitting WvW and PvE consider this. The whole reason that WvW has the server v server v server is that the match ups come from the server as a whole. PvP is its own separate server from the entire game… If they were to split WvW from PvE they would have to go through and split servers which would take way more time than anyone here realizes… Also any Mesmer that can reliably keep confusion on you above 3 stacks for the duration of a fight is a kitten good Mesmer. Whether they are a glamour mes or a scepter torch mes the confusion coming from being inside a glamour skill is a whopping ONE stack… The confusion from our shatters is hardly affected by condition dmg, and the confusion from our illusions inherits NONE of our condition dmg/duration… Now if it is a bunch of glamour mesmers destroying groups then that’s the whole purpose… Using group utility… Also ALL of mesmers “glamour skills” require the enemies to do something… Feedback? Okay stop using projectiles… Null field “qq I have no more boons” that’s pretty much it… They can get some good stacks from CoF into a group but there again. None of these stacks of confusion last more than a couple seconds.

Confusion was never nerfed in sPvP. It was BUFFED in PvE and as a result, WvW.

I’ve had the same issue, though my frames don’t drop that low. They drop from 40-50 to about 10-15 when the trap is pulled. I know a lot of people that it happens to as well. I really don’t think it’s the client.

So, does SBI have any duelers? Now that Ebay is gone, I’ve lost a large crowd to duel against. IoJ doesn’t have much in the way of duelers that I’ve seen, so hoping SBI can keep me entertained :[.

Well I for one am going to miss DR and IoJ. It’s been fun getting intimate with you party people. IoJ, Im still baffled as to how you guys field so many lowbies… Lowbies everywhere in WvW. And DR… There were times when you would be straight push overs, and then suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere you come back in a steroid and Redbull fueled rage and take over everything… All in all it’s been fun. Shout outs to AD/QQ/Sty, RegA, and SoCo for putting up some good fights. IoJ, the only guild i can recall off the top of my head is MoW because of them annoying thieves always running around trying to poke me…

Oh, what, I don’t get special mention for being an pain to fight/catch? I’m so offended</3

Had a nice bit of fight club with Ebay a little while ago. Will certainly miss you guys as you travel up a tier. Even though you destroyed our score, you always had the best fighters to go against and I’ll miss that. Hopefully stormbluff can entertain me, but good luck moving up, guys.

Welp, got bored and held onto a camp or two in EB BL for a few hours. At one point both sides were just dicking around, and we even allowed an enemy in quaggan form into our camp. And then this silliness happened.

Bahah, I realize Dervish kinda got shoved into Guardian along with a few other things mixed, but I can still imagine what it’d be like otherwise! Plus, c’mon, bringing back a scythe wielding medium armour profession would be awesome, can’t deny that Even if it is a bit too much like the guardian.

As an avid Guild Wars 1 player for many years, my favourite profession was always the Dervish. I had spent hours upon hours perfecting a build I could run with and I loved every minute of it. Now, I know they won’t ever make it back into GW2 because they don’t exactly fit with the lore or Tyria and were an Elona only type profession, but let’s discuss what kind of skills they’d have if they were in GW2 today

I’m not exactly sure what kind of weapon sets they’d have as I really can only picture them with a scythe, but for utilities I imagine a lot of the enchantments they had could easily be transferred over. For example, Shield of Force in GW1 did the following: “For x amount of seconds it blocks the next 1 attack against you. If an attack is blocked all adjacent attacking foes are knocked down and suffer from weakness.” That could easily do the same in GW2. For the elites, Avatar of Melandru and Grenth are already in use for human elites, but the other gods can always be used as elites for this profession. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to implement Vow of Silence, my favourite dervish elite, but to no avail.

Anyways, wanted to bring up a topic I absolutely adore. Discuss how you think Dervish in GW2 would be?

WP is on Kaineng, we are still in the process of getting everyone over. We’re still adjusting and rebuilding the guild’s upgrades, we’ll be starting to reach out to both the original Kaineng guilds and get to know the fellow newcomers as well. I have nothing but respect for Chaster’s SoS, they are one of the main reasons why we’ve voted for Kaineng as our permanent home (SoS is our Xiongdimen n___n). Also we have a close bond with Kaineng, because of our server histories.

I am still on Jade Quarry, which didn’t end up getting the votes, so I’ll be waiting until next Tuesday to be joining the rest of my guild on Kaineng. Guildmembers who’ve been scattered across multiple servers are reuniting on this server. We were a DR guild since the beginning as a small real-life friends-only guild (the guild name was an inside joke).

There was some drama inside the guild that came from outside influences, a lot of our friends from other guilds had already left DR or stopped playing GW2. Many arguments were had over staying or transferring, but since we’ve been reunited on Kaineng we’ve all agreed that we haven’t had this much enthusiasm since the old days of T8. Everyone in the guild is having a great time on Kaineng, both WvW and PVE. We were actually hoping it would be BP in this matchup instead of DR… although I’m hearing a lot of chatter in Teamspeak about a manhunt going on for Sir Morningstar in his native habitat, EB.

WP on Kain now, eh? Heh, looks like I’ll have to invite you guys out to a fight night and challenge all of the guys I used to duel alongside

I gotta say, out of all the matchups, Maguuma is probably my favourite to fight. They run around naked beating people with sticks while capping. They do it with class and hilarity. Good show

Wow, I just finishing dueling several [OG] players in Maguuma BL. I have to say they really have some great players. We couldn’t manage to beat their 3v3 or 2v2 teams with the classes and traits we had set up. I did however manage to defeat them in several 1v1’s with out any losses, though it was very tough. We would definitly like to fight you guys again someday in some more 3v3 and 2v2 match ups. Maybe even 5v5’s would be great.

Once again you guys prove you know your stuff in PvP and I enjoy fighting you guys because it only makes us all better players. Thank you for the epic battles tonight.

Was some good duelling, I personally wish there was more classes then just Mesmers/Thiefs/Ele to duel against. Its extremely frustrating fighting Thief’s. I swear each time I’d be one shot off winning, boom “CLOAK” come back healed up LoL. Trust me as ranger its frustrating.

Favourite fight of the night was vs the D/D Ele, I would of liked to have finished it might of taken a while but there would of been a winner.

Enjoyed the duel against the EDGE P/D thief was fun but once again frustrating.

Most painful class of the night was the Mesmer’s no shock there they tend to own in 1v1.

My guildies enjoyed fighting you even though it would have lasted forever, lol. So he just sat down and took it. Heck, I enjoyed fighting you as well even though it never got to be finished.
