I assume he IS planning to use the pistol, since has a trait which explicitly only works with pistols in his build (hair trigger).
Are you sure the “on crit” traits (NOT sigils) are on cooldown? I’m fairly sure my Flamethrower manages to stack vulnerability and bleed fairly easily during crit chains thanks to sharpshooter and precise sights, which wouldn’t happen so easily if there was indeed a cooldown on them. Granted this is in PvE, so it might be different in PvP. This is of course separate from whether explosive bullets cause AoE statuses on crit.
I think we’re talking more about the bleed inherent with explosive shot though, before other effects.
Isn’t forceful explosions bombs/mines only, with the implication that grenade aren’t bombs? (since we’ve a set called BOMB kit, which would imply bombs to only refer to that)
Maybe if every turret gave a combo field…….. they’re all blast finishers and the only 2 that can combo are Fire turret and Healing turret.
I kinda wish destruct turret appeared while the turrets overdrive skill was on cool down.
though none of the turret tool belt skills beside healing turrets are even good.
Surprise shot is a 10 second cooldown projectile finisher from the rifle kit toolbelt. Not amazing, but still useful.
Im aiming for 6 Superior runes of Baelfire and orr gear for the power because I run grenades and bomb kit.
Precision isn’t good without damage, and conditions make fights take too long imo (If they ever fix flamethrower burn though condition damage might not be such a bad investment)
Though one might note that flamethrowers with precision can stack up a lot of the traited crit-based status effects/conditions pretty fast.
I frankly prefer the destruct key be something other than the placement key, if only cause latency, interruption, and/or placement delay (when trying to use many abilities at the same time) has me pressing the placement key more than once. Might just be my itchy fingers though, admittedly.
Of course, we could instead have the turret placement be the toolbelt ability instead..
Let’s see… there’re many sources of what an average gamer entails (largely due to regional differences and difficulty in compiling statistics between them, along with determining exactly what an average gamer is), but for USA: the average gamer is 30 years old:
http://www.theesa.com/facts/index.asp
For UK, the average gamer is 23 years old, and spends 12.6 hours a week playing games:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamer#Types_of_gamers
Don’t forget that your 16-12 hours includes all sorts of little details like sleep, meals, travel time, and other commitments. Also, don’t forget that the working age group is rather much larger than the younger age group, along with the small issue of needing someone of working age to actually fund the game to begin with.

supply drop also works underwater.
Bah, serves me right for not checking after the betas. Still, I’d think it’d be overwhelmingly weaker than the land based version, though admittedly I’ll need to check to make sure.
I’m not avoiding, they’re just irrelevant. You’ve only explained why it’s plausible for you to play that much. It still doesn’t change the fact that the average gamer is an adult who would be working (hence not having classes is irrelevant) and has family commitments (hence has less free time on weekends).
Again, you are not an average gamer, so personal anecdotes only matter to yourself, not the average gamer.
For relevance, here’s a quick sampling of a granted old survey of WoW, but should regardless be considered.
http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/archives/001365.php
“From the survey data, the average age of the WoW player is 28.3 (SD = 8.4). 84% of players are male. 16% are female. Female players are significantly older (M = 32.5, SD = 10.0) than male players (M = 28.0, SD = 8.4). On average, they spend 22.7 (SD = 14.1) hours per week playing WoW. There are no gender differences in hours played per week.”
Not to mention many/most of us have alts, which would potentially half (or more) the time spent on each character. I don’t have any illusion on how much time you spent; you said so yourself: 185 hours in 22 days. You are quite simply not an average gamer, along with all those who put in 200+ hours.
CoF = lv 70+ content.
Plenty of people not yet lv 70.
See the issue here?
Not to mention not everyone full-time games on weekends either. Many people work, have family commitments, etc.
I don’t think you realize just how many gamers are actually working adults.
That’s over 8 hours a day, and on a single character (plenty of people have alts).
On which note I’d assume you’re also not working, so that might explain the lack of concept for “time is money”.
You do realize buying gems to get gold cost IRL money, which requires time to get too, right? Not everyone has played as much as you, not everyone should be balanced around you. There’re plenty of people who hasn’t reached lv 70.
Alternatively, have turret skins (and kit skins for the matter) be determined by the skin of weapons.

@achmed/Casia: Yes, grenades are OP underwater, and some other skills work. Doesn’t change the fact that Elixir X is our only elite skill which works underwater.
Tigger: considering that SP requires time to acquire, it’s a proxy of the time wasted. Time isn’t unlimited. Unless you teach us how to get SP without wasting time.
Again, as I noted, Gold is unlimited too, so if you think that’s a valid argument, please feel free to give everyone all your gold. It’s not like you can’t get more, right?

Just an offnote: Last I tried, buffs from sigils which grants persistent bonuses on kills are persistent even after using a kit. So those sigils aren’t completely worthless.
Tried out today and felt fairly disappointed. Given what other classes get for 30 skill points I see this as a bad investment.
I know it provides some benefits, but the current state simpyl doesn’t justify both the 30 SP costs and elite skill slot ocupancy. For free this skill would be great, for the price it just doesn’t pay of.you say this like theirs an SP cap
Just because there isn’t an SP cap doesn’t mean it isn’t a waste. If you disagree, feel free to give me any gold you have, you can always get more of that too. :p

Also Toss Elixir R has two completely different effects (both are good but I want to choose), and Elixir X is near useless compared to Supply Drop.
Elixir X is our best water combat elite skill though. Especially since both possible effects are rather similar anyway, it might as well be considered as a transform on a shorter cooldown than necro/elementalist.
Though admittedly that’s also because we’re kinda short on elite skills which works underwater..
Here’s a tip: Bomb kits isn’t for everything; we’ve grenade kits, rifles, flamethrowers, elixir guns, and pistols for a reason. That melee boss/ranged mob too far to get into melee range giving you too much trouble? CHANGE WEAPONS. And for everything else…
