Having a blast vs YB and Ebay this week. Looking for a few more players to fill our roster. Particularly interested in thieves/engineers/necromancers, but we are accepting applications from all classes (potentially a very talented ranger). If you want to run some organized zergbusting and want a guild focused on tight knit community consider TE.

We have players from all time zones but are NA focused. However we have organized events in all timezones (including SEA/EU), they are just more havoc focused until we can recruit more players in that timezone.

I actually don’t mind YB players being happy about their performance this week, but I’d like them to keep in mind that it’s not a result of anything they are doing internally but rather what they are doing via map politics with Ebay. Map politics and 2v1s are part of the game, and if you want to do them to win it’s completely understandable. If you guys got the organization to pull off a consistent 2v1 you should do it and you’ve done it well, but don’t pat yourselves on the back for beating us and saying how much your server has improved when at the end of the day you are just a bunch of 2v1 tower huggers, and when you dare to come out of your tower it’s in blobs of 50-60 “guild groups” (I’m looking at you [One]/]SE]).

YB’s been ahead all day and probably into NA. No matter how much SEA they have it looks like YB is going to snatch 2nd out of SBI’s hands.

Even if you win, what do you really win? A 2v1 match up? I can assure you that you aren’t hurting our feelings. Win or lose, we’ll still be out their fighting the good fight. Score is a reflection of map politics and coverage, neither of which are anything to be proud of at the end of a match.

P.S. Thanks for chasing our fairweathers away, queues were getting annoying in the previous weeks.

Can we swap out DB with YB in that last match up? I think clearly in this league it would be the best match. Id be ok getting rolled as long as there are fights to be had all week cause right now it feels like you got to sit in 1+ hr queues for EB just to find one. Well who knows maybe after leagues we will see that match up.

Lmao, what a great meme. I gotta say I feel bad for CD. You guys don’t deserve match ups like this. Hopefully you can learn a thing or two although I know its hard with the blobs and karma trains and bad players everywhere. Relish the tough weeks, most of the serious WvW players on SBI are wishing we were fighting SoR where there were no fairweathers and no queues, only an abundance of fights and opportunities to learn.

Hope to see more good fights from BP and CD this week so we can all have some fun open field fights.

Guild just transferred down here tonight, so…pretty excited to see what Silver League’s about!

It’s about hilariously unequal matches and PvE heroes on the top servers coming out to “show their strength”.

The queues aren’t THAT bad, besides we could really use extra coverage from 9:34-9:47pm server time on all three severs. Seems to be a coverage gap.

But seriously, if you’re tired of any of the following:
1) Skill lag
2) Queues
3) PPT Griping
4) Coverage Wars
5) Forum warriors
6) Inability to put your whole guild in one map and train when you want
7) Did I mention waiting in queues so you could win a silly finisher after 7 weeks? Do you realize how much time you could be spent killing is being wasted in lions arch?

Then come to ANY of the servers in silver league. NSP, IoJ, CD, hell everyone in the league could use some good NA guilds to make the bottom half of the league more competitive and keep the top half interested. You would never have queues, or shortage of fights. Check out these servers if you are thinking of transferring, and let’s have a great season 1.

Yeah, I’m really surprised that YB is giving BP such a good licking. I thought for sure BP was destined for glory this league matchup. I’ve seen BP rally during weekdays though against pre-transfer SBI so I’ll keep an eye on the match-up, good luck to both YB and BP.

Eh, we’ve had serious issues during prime time getting our guilds into WvW. Maps are packed with people who are uninterested in team play, and more interested in grinding achievements, zerging ruins/sentries/jumping puzzles. I’m sure it’s this way on all servers, but I am looking forward to the weekday portion of this match up, where there will be fewer queues and more of our hardcore WvWers out.

Also, [TE] is looking forward to seeing all the people/guilds who think SBI has no good players out on the borderlands tonight. We’ll be on FA BL barring major queue issues. Stay classy amigos.

Somebody hold me! Need to bring back the good ole days when Borlis waypointed SBI’s hills every match up and those few people who knew what was up tried and failed to beg the zombie horde in Eternal to come and help them. I think our record for holding a Hills keep in SBI borderlands was about 5 days. So much fun. That keep was a golem graveyard, watered with tears. Can’t wait to try again.

Let me talk for a moment about how Borlis Pass went from the very bottom of Tier 6 to our current position as a contender for the top of this Silver League. And this is really to servers at the butt end of the league looking foreword to several weeks on beatings.

A change of mentality. Learning to enjoy WvW for the game, and not the trophy. Let me ask everyone here. How does being in first place change how you play WvW? Is it really any different then when you are in last place? For months, Borlis Pass was the punching bag of tier 5. We lost our fair weathers. Towards the end, several guilds even left because we “sucked” (And ended up becoming punching bags on Maguuma lol).

For those of us who stuck with it though, we built a whole new server from the ground. New tactics, new tools, and more importantly, new guilds. Grown Organically. Rather then pray for transfers or cry tears over past glory we built our server back up from the ground up and used our repeated beatings as learning experiences rather then punishment.

This is why you won’t see BP fair weather or tank a match. Also why we punch above our weight. We have the same population density as IoJ, Darkhaven and NSP and are presently the highest ranked server with a “High” density during its prime time. And it all goes back to rethinking what we like about WvW, and its not winning. Its wrecking face when we can wreck it.

Since it looks like SBI is going to be tumbling down to Silver, I figured I would start the discussion of what this crapfest of a league will look like. I honestly feel bad for the other servers in Silver league, and also hope that nobody transfers to SBI for an easy win in Silver. Please look to mid-tier silver league servers so we can get some better competition.

With that said, here is my analysis of the servers.

The lineup as of 10/16:

7. Stormbluff Isle My home server. Currently stacked (by silver league standards) with transfers, and probably the favorite to win the Silver League but lacks reliable guilds for off hour coverage. Exceptionally weak EU coverage. Stormbluff Isle will undoubtedly suffer from PvE players and fairweathers packing into the server at all hours of the day, most of whom will not be interested in being team players or getting on teamspeak. This should result in an extremely volatile level of skill from SBI, but the sheer numbers will likely discourage opposition.

8. Fort Aspenwood Former T2 server that lost some guilds. It remains to be seen whether or not they can steady the ship. The recent SBI-Mag-FA matchup showed remnants of well rounded coverage, but with visible holes left from the guilds who transferred off. Some easy match-ups could bring out their fairweathers and rejuvenate their base.

9. Dragonbrand Another former T2 server that lost many guilds to T1 recruiters. From what I understand, they maintain a reasonably strong OCX/SEA coverage base, but many of their NA guilds have left the server. Some more reasonable match-ups for seven weeks straight could allow them to re-build their base and possibly even attract badly needed NA transfers to compete for the top of the league.

10. Ehmry Bay From what I understand Ehrmy Bay has very strong NA, but almost non-existent off hour coverage. It is also rumored they lost a few guilds to T1, but someone would need to verify this for me. They could be strong competitors in NA prime and with a bit of support from their PvE off hour community may contend for the top of the league.

11. Borlis Pass From what I understand they lost some guilds, but also picked up a badly needed Oceanic guild as well as a few other NA guilds. The attitude on their server forums seems upbeat with many of their community leaders believing they can compete for the top spot in the silver league. It remains to be seen just how strong BP has gotten from their transfers and how much their PvE community comes out to support them during the season.

12. Yak’s Bend Stable community that hasn’t really seen any guilds come or go (from my understanding). They have pretty reasonable coverage for this tier at all hours, but not enough in any one area to be serious competitors for the top spots in the league. With some transfer love they may be able to make a push late, but as they stand now they don’t have the firepower to compete with the upper echelon of the silver league.

13. Crystal Desert Kind of a Wild Card. From what I understand they have a fairly robust OCX/SEA coverage base, but many members on their server are disgruntled with the server community. If their PvE and fairweather crowd show up to supplement their NA coverage and their off hour coverage is strong they could probably compete with anybody in this league. An added bonus for them is having many months experience fighting T2 and T3 opponents.

14. Isle of Janthir The server was rivaling SBI in quantity of guild transfers for a while, but the wheels seem to be coming off with major guilds such as [SE] and [SIC] leaving the server for greener pastures. This will inevitably drive a stake into an already fragile community that was largely built up on transfers. They do supposedly have a strong Oceanic presence, but I believe that this OCX presence is composed primarily of fairweather players who won’t come out in tough matches.

15. Northern Shiverpeaks Man, I just feel bad this server is even lumped into this tier. They have some excellent roamers like [XOXO], but have no business fighting in Silver League. Their off hour-coverage is non-existent, and any NA presence lives and dies with the [Os] guild who can only be on one map at any given time. They need much more firepower to compete in this league, and being at the bottom of Silver League makes it unlikely their PvE players will be very interested in stepping their toes into WvW.

Yes the SBI community is quite torn. The idea of fairweathers out in full force compounding for seven straight weeks sure is tempting. For the first time we get plenty of people to fight in NA prime, and for the first time in weeks there isn’t a queue on any map for most of the nights. Kinda lulzy but [TE] is enjoying the ability to map hop and fight where we want. This has been the best week in WvW in recent memory. [TW], [FEAR], [Choo], and others on SoR have been a blast to fight during NA prime, also shout out to [Rx] and [CNB] from SoS, I respect your tenacity in defense of SoS BL, it’s inspiring!

Shout out to all the other battle brothers on SBI who are gunning for gold with me and [TE}, kitten the score, who cares anyways. We’ll bore the off hour coverage of tier 1 into transferring off their servers, and come out to fight during NA.

Yes… so true, considering when they transferred here we were still on a 2 league system, with all guilds knowing full well they would be fighting at the bottom of the old 1-12 gold league. Use your brain please.

I might sympathize if it wasn’t SoS saying this. It’s like the pot calling the kettle black. This may even be you doing the exact same thing to us a few months ago. Anyways, your mindless horde of Oceanic zombies would hit all of our towers and keep in EB with a map queue and we held our corner repeatedly because all you could do was kitten rams down on gates.
