For the first time this week in recent memory, many of the matches were not decided on reset night. People are actually gasp interested in playing hard the entire week because 5 to 6 of the 8 matches in NA actually are relatively fair match-ups based on PPT. Please take this into consideration going into the leagues. If you want to bring back server stability, put more limits into this glicko system you have.

1. Make it easier for transfer servers to climb rankings so they don’t torture lower tier servers for weeks and make everybody unhappy. Seriously, you read the forums (you claim to), make glicko adjustments based on even mundane things like server, or more specifically wvw population for the week.

2. Opposite of number 1, make it easier for servers that are dead or dying in WvW easier to fall to the bottom so they stop the bleeding of people leaving every week.

3. Give people variety, but be reasonable. Nobody wants the variety that is associated with getting roflstomped and spawn camped 24/7. There is a fine line between variety and stupidity and this system often crosses it. You can provide both variety and stability, it isn’t just one or the other, just be reasonable in RNG limitations. Make it harder for servers to be matched up out of their tier but still possible.

4. Leagues are a mistake. Tier 1 is without a doubt and pun intended, a league of its own. Servers buy guilds to enter into PPT&ego driven lag&queue fests that will only get worse when PvE players try to cram into already bloated tier 1 servers for meta achievements. There is no room for tier 1 players to play WvW on their own servers (because of the guilds on those servers own stupidity), and also no way for anyone outside of Stack Quarry, Sanctum of Stackers, or Stackgate to compete with the likes of their game-breaking coverage.

I think it’s officially time to take SBI seriously as the real deal.

A worthy successor to Kaineng and Dragonbrand as being a bandwagon that hits #5 and goes no where afterwards.

Not sure how we can put it any other way. We don’t care what our rank is, rank means nothing in this game. Random matchups mean some weeks you get stomped and some weeks you stomp. The guilds here are excited to be in a tier where we can reliably face good guilds and competition and get better. Whether we tick 0, 695, or somewhere in between, the guilds will be here to fight.

Honestly, the GvG on FA BL tonight violated my game mode. No more of this.

It’s a lot of tough talk from One considering they lost a GvG to us and even accused us of cheating. I mean you guys are a good guild but don’t get ahead of yourself. A lot of your wipes of us are a product of us learning as a group of guilds how to effectively flank and utilize 3 guild groups because none of us have had that luxury before. The rest of the wipes are usually my own fault as we have gone through extensive changes to the guild roster which has caused a great deal of change and unhappiness. I have to consider it a down payment towards future success, but we’ve had a tough time vs. skilled groups the last 2-3 weeks. Many of these wipes are a product of my own bad calls that lead to BAEST and DR rushing into terrible situations, but, you live, you learn, you get better. TE does it, and SBI will to, even if it costs us the fairweather PvE players on our server now that only add to queue times…

Is it a valid excuse for losing with 3 guild groups vs only one guild+ PUGS? No of course not, we understand we have work to do but I’m sure all of us are willing to do it. That said you’re the best fight on YB and we enjoy fighting you, but please, you get to pick all your fights as a defender with better terrain and supporting siege. We could ignore you but when we’re ticking 600 we often rush into really bad places to fight simply for practice and the fact that there isn’t much else to do.

Stay classy and we’ll have an enjoyable week this week. Also feel free to PM me if you want to do more GvG later in the week or something.

They do a great job maintaining the home borderland and this is the premier destination for people looking to help maintain our reputation as having a formidable home borderlands.

I paid for the game, I don’t get paid to make it a fun environment like the Dev does. There is a certain amount of respect an employee owes a customer and it was clear that this developer was very uninterested in showing us any respect because we weren’t playing the game his way.

Not being part of a company/organization of some sort doesn’t condone the use of verbal abuse towards other people regardless of setting. You can’t demand respect if none is given from the start on your end. “I paid for the game” and yes you paid the 50 something dollars for the game. This again doesn’t give you a free ticket to verbally abuse people.

The person in question from what I’ve discerned dedicates hours, days, months of hard work far beyond what is required to help make the game as good as it is. I’d get annoyed as well if I was in his position after I put that much hard work into something just to get people swearing at me because I stood in the wrong spot. Sure he made a mistake he shouldn’t have, he apologized for it. He can’t turn back time so what more do you expect?

You were equally if not more so in the wrong and I’ve yet to see an apology from your end instead you try to make excuses for your behavior when in actuality what you said was far worse than anything he did. But that is just my opinion. I just hope they lock this topic ASAP. As it’s gone far out of control.

For anyone who calls “taken out of context”, I have a full 45 minute video to give you the entire backdrop of the situation.

Anyways, I am curious as to why on Thursday, and even on Monday this week that 6 matches were complete blowouts, and every match had a decided winner. There is no such thing as a comeback, or a tough fight throughout the week. The winner is picked on reset night based on random rolling of servers which is indicative of a broken system.

The leagues will only amplify this more when you have further gaps of servers playing each other (t1 vs t4), when already the gap of coverage between tiers is insane. The game isn’t fun because there is no consistency at all. You can choose to either be rolled, or get rolled. Actually you can’t even choose, you are just told on Friday night whether or not you will have a week of karma trains or be grossly outmanned. Please rethink this system. Matchups with no close score or struggle for victory towards the end are stale. I’d rather play the same people week in and week out if it meant that matchups would be closer and the fights more consistent throughout the whole week.

IoJ seems to be a having a Stomp or being Stomped matchups for 3-4 weeks already. It’s frustrating.

Look at Millenia. It’s not just you. It’s the new ANET meta. All matches must be decided on reset night based on server roll, not any kind of skill or struggle throughout the week. You can either win by 150k points and karma train all week and have no fun fights, or be grossly outmanned on all maps for an entire week and be unable to hold any structures. Those are your only two choices. They want to slowly gear you into hating WvW and loving sPvP. eSports!!!

Haha… This post made me laugh so hard. There are a few griefers like this on SBI, most notably [mod edit: name removed], who leads pugs around and builds rams on walls, leads people away from towers and keeps that need defending, openly flames and insults people in map chat, and wastes keep supply building useless trebs. He has been reported hundreds if not thousands of times

Yeah… He actually did, and then told us we were intefering with his game and violating the code of conduct. Pretty terrific.

SBI I couldnt help but notice that after the gvg you all quickly left without other sbi around. Started fight club up on nsp bl, windmill after. Only about 3-4 stayed. down to 1 sbi now. L2pwithoutnumbers.

It’s world pvp bro, I hope you don’t get too kitten that most of us wouldn’t get amusement out of dominating a bad player like you repeatedly in a 1v1. We’d rather farm a whole zerg for bags.

If you guys get a prize pot going, can TE get in on this match up? Maybe we can do some round robin match ups if enough IoJ/NSP groups wanna get in on it. We are a pretty bad guild as most people in this thread point out. We pride ourselves in spawn camping roamers with ballistae. That being said, we are still looking for 15v15 GvG to challenge our abilities and perhaps learn new tactics to better spawn camp NSP roamers, especially those of the kitten variety who post pictures of our guild militia commanders so we can get free PR.

I also wanted to throw in my bit for Stormbluff Isle. Many servers will approach you with the same cookie cutter speech that they put in all the threads of guilds looking for a home. Tier 1 and Tier 2 servers aren’t looking to attract your guild and the people in it, they just want to have you pick their server so they can rush to the next recruitment thread and say “look at the new guilds we are getting!” The whole meta that has evolved around the Tier 1 and Tier 2 arms race is confusing to me because as soon as a guild picks ‘enter stacked server name here’, they no longer care about keeping the guild happy and reinforcing the ideas of why said guild chose the server in the first place.

This isn’t the Stormbluff Isle way, it never has been and never will be. This server is built around a strong community that survived the exodus of December and did not fall lower than tier 5, where other servers faced with similar circumstances fell to tier 8. We accomplished this because even after the exodus SBI was a great place to be, a no drama environment where everybody genuinely wants to work together and build the strongest community on NA. Old SBI players smile but aren’t surprised when they see players from other servers remark “It’s just so much better on SBI.” We want each guild to be a part of our community and add their own color and culture to our vibrant community canvas. In picking SBI, you wouldn’t just be picking another server, you’d be finding home.

I’d love to further talk to any of your guild memets either in game or on voice chat. If you want to chat over TS3, I’ll arrange for our Singaporeans to be present to greet you and answer your questions. If you like what you hear I’m sure we’d be happy to cover the cost of a scout(s) to come check out SBI in greater detail to assist in your decision making process.

Update on this topic…. Kaineng seems to have lost 2 guilds to SoS.

The stacking continues on most servers. IoJ stacks for silver league, SBI stacking for…. unknown reasons, SoS stacking to climb to the other stackers in tier 1 like Stack Quarry, Stackgate, and Sanctum of Stackers.

Meanwhile the growing number of completely dying servers in WvW seems to be something ANET doesn’t care about (because of PvE population). I hope you guys know that the more you continue this path you are on the harder it will be to undo the damage that you are doing to the game and the server communities.

[TE] had a great night in IoJ BL, particularly the fights for your garrison and the initial fight at hills when you still had a waypoint. Thanks to all the IoJ who came out to fight and defend your home map unlike most of the kitten kitten kittenes on your server. Respect!

SBI seems like a great place for you to play. I would love to see some of our developing Oceanic guilds get more members to play with from that timezone. You would be joining the likes of an experienced community with a professional teamspeak and community site. You guys are not only the best, but also the classiest opponents my guild has ever faced. After a two week long process of visiting servers and seeing how the community is I decided on SBI. I left a higher tier server to come for less Zerg more skill and to make new friends.
I can honestly say no other server made me feel more welcome than SBI. When I announced my arrival everyone gave me a warm friendly welcome.

Thanks I’m glad you are enjoying SBI. We have really enjoyed the company of our new transfers.

I am really excited that we are drawing individual player transfers to SBI. There really is a guild for everyone here. From Hardcore WvW, to casual PvX, and everything in between. Myself and other guild leaders here love meeting new players who always seem to chime “It’s just so much better here.” The community on SBI is unmatched and we continue to look for community oriented players to join us in SBI and see what our great set of guilds has to offer!

I’d also like to update guilds considering transferring to SBI what we are especially looking for. We are not in a rush to get to a specific tier or ranking. We will take our time, and would much rather have no more guilds transfer here as opposed to having guilds transfer who don’t share our vision. That will only lead to future problems and instability, and stability is something we pride ourselves on at SBI, as evidenced by us being one of the only servers able to actually stop the bleeding of an exodus without falling to T8.

What we are looking for:

1) Above all else, guilds who are looking to be part of our great community. We are uninterested in guilds who are looking to join a server just as a vacation home en route to their next destination. While it kind of a cliche to say we are looking for server loyalists to transfer here, most of the guilds who have recently come to SBI have only been on one other server and as such are interested in building a strong community. This is what we really love.

2) Guilds who won’t exceedingly gripe about PPT. The guilds here are like minded. Bags first, PPT comes as a result. Even if we are outnumbered 3:1, we look for people who will relish the target rich environment, as opposed to head to PvE for the week. A clarification to this is that we will defend our own structures with vim and vigor, but sometimes even this is not enough vs servers with overwhelmingly more coverage. We just don’t want to deal with the drama of “Why are we losing in PPT to ‘enter tier 1 server name here’?” We’ll be in Gold League, we’re not ashamed of it, we won’t even consider tanking like many other servers have and/or are doing, and regardless of the score, will fight hard regardless of opponent.

3) Guilds who embrace the idea of working together with other guilds and militia on the server. We use whisper lists on teamspeak extensively to communicate between groups and achieve the greater good.

4) A guild(s) who will help us rally our Oceanic and SEA base. We have a surprisingly strong presence at this time these days, and some fabulous Asia time commanders, but they could use more company and consistency that dedicated guilds would offer.

5) Guilds that love the thrill of small-man combat, roaming, havoc to compliment our flourishing small man scene on SBI. ANET is changing the meta of WvW to split up the zergs, and we’re more than happy to do it on SBI.

6) Finally, no egos. The amount of cooperation, coordination, and fun times that are had by the community would be easily disrupted by an elitist or egotistical guild. We love fun community events such as:

On another note, a big thank you to all the former SBI players who have shown us so much love recently on our server forums (especially Jed and SF), and also to those who are coming back home from their extended vacations on other servers. You laid the foundation for this community to stand strong even after the exodus. Come see that we have only improved and built upon your legacy.

Thank you to the very few people that came out and bothered to fight us tonight. The borderlands were an absolute ghost town, but thanks to BP for your attack on SBI garrison which got the troops motivated.

SBI Tequatl TS channel had over 130 people at one point, so I can’t imagine the effect it had on the losing servers. Oh ANET

The bloodlust buff is live. It is clearly a disaster for wvw and gvg. But even if you don’t gvg, an epic disaster for wvw. Too much imbalance, too much power for the already powerful, no fun for anyone.

Only hope is keeping the orbs on your BL and not taking the orbs in the other servers’ BLs. When a pug or troll from another server takes an orb on your BL flip it back asap. I’ve ben preaching this for weeks and the usual response is it’ll never work, not everyone will agree, blah, blah. Trying is better than swallowing it. If you agree, get the word out to your guilds. Get some folks to defend the orbs on your BL. Get the word out in map chat in LA, all BLs, and eternal. Don’t stand for this.

Honestly, I actually agree, as long as I don’t see one server pushing for all the bloodlust I’m going to stay content with the 1 stack of it on home bl and not push for it on othe BL. Hopefully everyone is equally mature about this and isn’t going to push for that extra stack of bloodlust, all it does is encourage the snowball, and while we are the ball this week, we may be the ones getting rolled over by it the next.

During raid times my guild will be focused on maintaining SBI BL bloodlust but when we are on other maps we will not go for 3/5 altars to try to tip the balance of power. Hopefully other guild leaders and community members can stress the same thing.
