Just because this game is not trinity focused, I am rather baffled by the absence of a DPS meter, or some way to actually compare the effectiveness of one build’s DPS vs another.
Edited to encompass some of the posts:
Elitism will be in MMOs, regardless of if there is a DPS meter or not. Elitist groups will not include pubs to begin with, and thus those pubs will not be the target to their constant ridicule. GW2 is not an overly hardcore game, there will still be plenty of groups out there that are not speed focused, and those groups of casual players will not be dependent on DPS, build, or gear.
Knowledge of Dungeon Mechanics will always be more important in tougher dungeons such as Arah Explorable

The argument that adding new jump puzzles in the future would mean that you can’t introduce this title is silly due to the fact there are already titles for map completion. Are we never going to see a new zone?

Hello, as a WvW player since launch, and a commander on Stormbluff Isle (if that means anything anymore), I am incredibly disappointed and bored with the current layout of maps.
Currently, we have only two unique maps,
1. Eternal Battlegrounds
2. Various Borderlands
It is really amazing to me that level designers and developer time is being wasted designing things like the Super Adventure Box, when one of the only end tier activities (WvW) has been almost completely ignored since launch. Don’t even get me started with the silly rank system that has been implemented, the fact that it is character bound makes the idea incredibly limiting for players with more than one character, since most players will just want to grind through the experience on one character as opposed to a variety of characters across an account.
What I propose is this:
1. Each Borderlands should be a distinct map, meaning that Red, Blue, and Green borderlands should all be a completely different map with different layouts for camps, towers, keeps, and new scenery/obstacles.
2. There should be a few renditions of Eternal Battlegrounds to keep things fresh, meaning that perhaps a rotation of 3 or more eternal battlegrounds-esque maps would be available, each with its own distinct theme and intricacies.
3. Each map could even have its own kind of “weather” that effects siege equipment, or all maps could have a weather cycle. For example, it may be snowing or raining, and thus siege equipment is not as effective. It may be muddy, and thus dolyaks move slower and supply refills slower.
Now, before this becomes a tl:dr post, let me sum up why this would be a good idea for GW2
1. Players that loved WvW but got incredibly bored with it’s repetitiveness (I am nearing this stage, and know many others who already moved on) would have a reason to come back and explore the new maps. The variety would also attract many other players who maybe still play PvE but couldn’t get into playing WvW because it seemed so dull.
2. This kind of added content is more meaningful than cute things like the Super Adventure Box. Sure, I enjoyed the run through and it’s flashback to 8-bit graphics, but let’s be honest, a vast number of players, including myself, played it once and then never again.
As far as the balancing concerns this would raise, I am sure that the WvW focused players would gladly trade a month of sorting out balance issues with the new maps for the repetition it would add.
