Here is the idea. Basically I want to be able to switch professions (not race) but keep my current level. So if I am a level 80 Guardian but I wan’t to play Thief without leveling, I can.

Key Points: I do understand that leveling is this game is rather easy, but after a few times, doing the same hearts over and over, and doing the event cycles a couple times each character the game gets boring. It feels more like a grind the seventh time through than the first.

Also it should NOT by any means be free. I have not done the math but it should cost the amount of gold it would take to craft 1-80 (assuming there were 8 craftings), but converted into gems (maybe even more). This will prevent people from mass switching. Also you would make TONS of money seeing that alot of people get tired of there profession.

This feature is more for the people that have been playing since launch seeing that the game does get boring. Especially since there is only one 35-45 area.

More over on the boring part. One way to keep interest in gw2 is to play a new profession. What better way is there than for us to be already level 80, and you make money out of it?

Pros: People stay interested in the game longer.
Money for A-net.

Cons: Lower level zones will be empty.
New players will have to “fend for themselves”.

I’m not trying to push one theory of whats going to happen or what they should do (even though I did point out what I think they should do :P). I mainly want the forum spam to stop. I understand this is a very sensitive subject matter. But maybe this is just a trial and error kind of thing where a-net wants to see how we react to certain changes. (This was stated in the SOTG video). So with that in mind like I said before just give it a real try and post results. I’m interested in seeing some game-play from awesome players on YouTube with it as well! What ever the case may be GW2 is still a great game, and all I want is to see it prosper.

What ever the case may be I don’t believe that nerfing the “only” build that elementalists have is smart. I say a simple change here and there in the traits would do the trick. I really hope everything turns out well, because elementalist is why I purchased gw2 and why I kept playing gw2.

Ok. Given what we heard about the oh so catastrophic nerfs being dealt to elementalist around the world, I say just give it a chance. Will it really affect our
play-style that much? Yes it sounds bad now. but A-net has done pretty good with the game so far, and it is HARD to please everyone. We can’t be mad for a-net stopping our “invincibility”.

I remember when elementalist were considered a bad profession and only a few of us actually knew how powerful it was. And now the whole world ranks us tier 1 in pvp. What a-net is trying to do is get all professions in the same tier if you will. Which in my opinion totally depends on what the players do with the professions. I myself say that some professions should be “better” than others.

Take Call of Duty for instance or even Battle Field. Some guns are better than others. But when a player takes a rather bad gun and does good with it, it really shows his skill. So take this update and show some skill with it, and if it does turn out to be as bad as it seems I hope a-net realizes it. But we do owe a-net a chance at this. Stop complaining it won’t stop the update from coming. FULLY explore the new build and put yourself in situations that test the build, and in a weeks time lets share what we think as a whole to a-net.

RTL is fine the way it is. I do understand that elementalist may be alot more mobile than most classes, but versatility in the classes futile. No change is needed.

I say any server because unlike other MMO’s you can be in a guild from another server/realm and with recent updates you can even Guest(visit) other servers. Unfortunately EU and NA servers are separate so it does not interfere with WvWvW. Hope you find exactly what you want

Hey all! Elite War Pandas are recruiting any and all players of any skill level and ANY SERVER. We started as a PvP guild and are branching out to appeal to PvE players as well.

Why join [EWP]? Seeing that most of us are hard-core PvPers we know how to use all classes and can help new players with their classes easily. I myself have experience in hosting multi-guild WvW raids. Also we don’t have silly requirements or trials to join. All you need is a computer and the game!

Although we are PvPers, PvE is not a problem! We all had to start in the open world and we know how to maneuver each map for the fastest and best leveling experience!

[EWP] is a brand new guild so we don’t have that " well he was here way longer than you so forget you!" mentality if you catch my drift. So come along and lets make this something great!

Hey Exelion. First off just as Vissarion said, elementalist are really about utilizing all the elements to their advantage. I encourage you to search YouTube for some elementalist game-play and see how each element is used.

Fire is THE main damage source for an elementalist. Water is more of a healing type of element. Air is for your speed and can also dish out a fair amount of damage. Earth is more defensive but also has good damage to it.

Knowing when to switch is vital and is also the reason why most consider elementalist “hard” to play. Don’t switch elements if it is not necessary, and don’t use skills if not necessary. ( Like using water to heal when you have full hp). An expansive amount of time has to be put in to learn an elementalist from the start. Send me a mail for the times you play and ill help you out and explain everything.

Ok. After all updates have been done, I resumed playing as normal in sPvP. Usually the crashes occur in about 3-5 games. I have played about 10 games and no crash. However I have experienced lag on multiple occasions in various games, ranging from the “studder” type of lag to that 3-10 second lag that makes everyone look like idiots running in one direction the whole time. Maybe my graphics card reacted to the lag worse than everybody else. What ever the case may be GW2 never had lagging problems with me (aside from WvW).

I don’t know if this helps but I game on an Alienware m17x R4 full spec with the Nvidia(680) card for my graphics. If you need anything else i’m willing to cooperate as I do still love the game.

This could be one of many many problems. We would need more information to track the bug down. Were you able to submit a crash report? If not, do you have exact reproduction steps?

No I was not able to submit a report due to literally everything being frozen.

I played some more to see any consistencies in the matter and this is what i found..
-My frames drop considerably when I ride the lightning.(although it doesn’t always crash when i use this skill).
-Usually crashes when right after the lag.
-Mid-map every single time.
-Only me (all other players seem to be unaffected)

This is all I could think of for the time being. Hope it helps. I am considering that my drivers are out of date so i’m doing a full system restore/clean up/ scan/update. Then i’ll try again and see if the issue persists. Thanks for the quick reply.

P.S. I’ll try to get a video of it crashing on my phone. No promises.

Hello devs i’m having trouble with sPvP crashing all of a sudden in the middle of a game. This ONLY occurs during sPvP and ONLY on the map “Legacy of the Foefire”. I do understand many people are having issues with lagging on this map, but not me the game just stops all together.

It goes like this….. ill be fighting mid-map(just noticed this every time its mid-map I don’t know if that counts) and after a few intense frames per second the game freezes, goes black, and gives me a courser with a wing. I can move the courser but everything else is set in stone. Sometimes i can open task manager but right after everything is frozen and i cant open any windows or anything.

I don’t know if this is due to the map, just my computer, or the leader-boards being implemented. (By the way for those that don’t know the leader-boards are active just can’t use them as of yet). Is there anyone else with this problem? As for now as sPvP being the sole purpose for why I play GW2, the game for me is declared unplayable. I know the devs are working day in and day out concerning the game as a whole. But this issue seems a bit extreme. Please fix soon.

Guys the leaderboards are being made. Is that not enough? Yeah they said a week and something came up. kitten happens… I’d rather them do it late and right than now and wrong.

Hey man im a rather good sPvP necromancer. My only struggles are mesmers and elementalist. I dont use minions at all. Im a condition build maximizing in bleeds. I stack about 15-20 bleeds by myself and is maintained through the whole fight. The only thing is I have almost no healing power and I dont use Siphon much. So not getting hit is crucial. My build is only for fast reaction players and good dogers with knowledge of all other classes skills (for predictability).

Thats my build I start off with my staff and fear em a bit to get the damage going and bust blood is power. Switch to scepter dag use 5 and 2 and the rest is situational.

If the devs add more and better rewards in sPvP. I know it will grow huge. sPvP takes time to understand and grasp. Its not like WvWvW where you just spam AoE’s. So why go through all the trouble to learn sPvP for some weapon skins? I myself am just a pvp junkie so id do it anyway. But what about the common gamer……

Just bumping. gL with team. I can play Necro, Ranger, and Guardian. Necro being my most successful class. currently rank 19. I started sPvP late but I have a HUGE understanding of sPvP, and I expect to be high on the charts in about 2-3 weeks. Maybe best necro in game? lol ill try!

Im with you for this reason. I dont like playing with people with a lower skill level than me. Especially when they are on my team. Im no god at sPvP or anything but it gets frustrating when my team is just feeding the enemies kills. And i try to tell them good strategies without sounding “bossy” but ehh.

A fix to this may be to have the sPvP ranked by the points amounted throughout all game matches, and maybe even kill/death ratio. That way each game is always a challenge. I think I speak for everyone when I say that close games are the best games.

Hey guys as some of you know VR hosted a huge WvW raid today for SoR/TC/SBI. And guys im getting mixed emotions about this little shindig today. And most of it is really not about the event. Most of it is issues you guys have with the game itself pertaining to WvW. Like big zergs or ppl not rendering fast enough. Look guys I just do come up with events to encourage ppl to play. Is that so bad? Am I doing something wrong? Today every WvW map was on a 1 hour+ que waiting time. Tryna tell me that happens everyday all day? Maybe in T1 idk. from what I saw ppl had a great time and alot of SoR said they have more respect for tarnished coast because of EB battles. Is that bad? Is this game not made for players to play together? So whats all this negativity all about? Someone plz enlighten me I have ppl cussing me out and other people asking when is the next im so confused.

Not really sure the point of this whole thread or how this is different than any other day. Now if you want to host a 5v5 or even a planned zerg vs zerg battle, that would be fun.

Well its just like every1 does PvE everyday, and actually most of any1s gameplay is PvE but when the event cursed shore arrived every1 played(more than usual) and every1 had a blast…Now why can’t we do that for our PvP players? BTW we had a Blast! Thx TC you guys are awsome! SBI too you guys were a bit late, but you made it.

You guys have every right to run any event you want and I’m sure that for SoR, this is alot of fun. I would only say that if you are going to announce this sort of thing on the wvw forums you should try to include all 3 servers. You essentially have a 100 man zerg running from BL to BL and I’m pretty sure noone from SbI or TC want to attend that.

No doubt is TC one of the best servers out there but personally I would join SoR ive been on a couple servers and SoR is the only one that has really exceeded my expectations. Even to the point where we organized a HUGE WvW event that is going on as we speak. PvE is great as well we are planning some events for that as well. Huge dungeon races in about a month but no one knows yet i have to farm a crap load of gold for the prizes.

Hey all I come to present an event Hosted by the Guild VR. This Wednesday at 7pm eastern time/ 4pm server time. It’s a MULTI guild WvW raid. Aiming for massive battles. In which I would like Tarnished Coast, and Stormbluff Isle, to form your own groups and battle with us. Whats a zerg without a competition ehh? So Sor,TC, and SI we are all looking forward to some EPIC battles. And remember to just have fun!

I can help but notice that twilight can only be used by my guardian. And considering how much trouble any player goes through to get such a weapon, it should be usable by all the characters possible. Soulbound sucks rear-end especially for items that are considered “once in a life-time”. I know that not everyone has experience with a legendary weapon but what do you guys think? Would you want to be limited to one character? Forever?
