you will better post here “https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Network-Lag-Merged/page/36#post3586100”. Consider this : support people are not technical they try to help as much as they can with info given from dev’s. Therefor if you want to show your problem use a sticky thread which is probably read by those dev’s on regularly base. And @ Smooth nice you have good game access but mentioning it here won’t help people who don’t.

Until now since the update I had no skill lag at all in wvw,pvp pve. so I would say good job done. Before the game was also playable even in big zergs however with some (small to larger:)) skill delays . Today I did a fractal with 4. Two of us had +/- infinite skill lag (never had this before in a fractal or any other dungeon). No framerate loss, but no keys responded from my site I saw all what the rest was doing and they saw me running into a wall. We were connected through ts, the lag ( unable to do anything) occurred at the same time with both of us while the other two had no problem it also came in periods but made the game unplayable. It seems rather strange now that in a small instance 2 out of 4 get an extreme server delay, while in big zergs it doesn’t occur for us.
Hey AreUMadBro, i think you answered your question yourself by referring to “ Combat Arms”; something is changed on your system causing this game to have lag while it wasn’t lagging before.
Drivers? or win7 corrupted, (check also interrupts if corrupted can cause alot of cpuload): a clean install can help. Did you change your monitor for example, higher resolutions will have a big impact on your video card.
Apart from that: gt220 performance isn’t that great, it’s comparable to the old GeForce 9500 gt but 1/3 lower than the 9800 gt so don’t expect high frame rates even on mid resolutions with gw2. The load on your cpu isn’t high (referring to the first pict you send, should be more going to 80% for 1 core where the main thread is running) so probably your graphics card is stalling the system. However temp of cpu shouldn’t go to 72-75degr with a load lower then 20% from gw2,
a c000005’s error can also be caused by mem errors. If you mem isn’t responding good under heavy load, you can have seldom errors by misreading a pointer. If a timing edge rises one in a billion times to slow it will have a chance for givin a chrash depending what is misread. This will cause total random crashes . Anyway it’s simple to exlude your hardware, using for example a tool like “0cct”. This came from another post on gw2. ( i wouldn’t go as far as buying 3 times ram )
Still crashing with "Exception: c0000005. Fixed it for me " MoosieDoome"
Hey everyone.
Most people might know this error. It has been asked allot of times and still nobody has a fix. I cant find a topic about it anymore to find a answer, so decided to make my own.
My client crashes very random. Sometimes not for hours and sometimes every 2 min. Ive tried many things. And even gone so far to buy new memory and re-installed my pc. Right now im running a clean system fully up-to-date only running Skype, Teamviewer and GW2.
My system:

The error i get every time is attached. Was too long for the post…
•Fix for me
This is bad ram. And no memtest will not always catch it.
Oke guys,
Sorry for waiting so long. Yesterday i bought new ram… Because i can and because this ram looks sexy (nope no real reason). And just to make sure the problem isnt the ram (well maybe a reason, but just to be sure….). Guess what!? IT WAS THE RAM! After buying new ram modules 3 different times (yes its crazy how far ive gone maybe) i finally can play.
It doesn’t matter if i overclock my CPU or GPU, drivers, applications (accept the known ones) it will keep running like it should. I tried my old ram and the crashes came back.
The weird thing is that this ram isnt even suported by my motherboard. And with a vol overclock (from 1,5 to 1,6v) i got it running. And it runs great!
I gues this doesnt help anyone. And it is still a weird thing. Because i never have crashes, the system runs stable, other games/programs run stable, memtest sees nothing, i could sometimes play fine for weeks, etc, etc. And then it start crashing again.
TL;DR: IT IS FINALLY FIXED. BUT IN A WEIRD WAY! I still think it is a problem at the clients end. Because this is the only game/program that has trouble.
PS: if someone still wants me to test something else. Just PM me ore leave a post to find out if the problem was something else.

just for your info, not saying it’s for the same reason. A m8 of mine had similar issues since he started playing gw2. All other games he had no problems ( diablo, etc). As you, he had random crashes to desktop, most of the time a memory error. So we checked his mem, but no errors found. Tryed about everything which was mentioned in forums. Sometimes after an update he could play a few day’s without a crash and then it came back (1 till 5 crashes a day). Checked temp, checked power all seemed to be ok, locked gw2 to dedicated cores , underclocked gpu nothing seemed to help, etc… Then a few weeks ago he came up with a tool to check stability under heavy load “OCCT” it gave also errors after 15-20 min. (normally i’s a tool for checking stability when overclocking which he didn’t) So our first impression was, we were back to memory. Then we tryed reducing mem clocks but also reducing cas, ras,.. timings so overall performance should be about the same. And eureka he’s now playing without a single crash for 2 weeks. Occt test also runs without an error. Still it were standard timings and clocks for that kind of mem, seemed to be the manufacturar didn’t test enough their specs under heavy load. (voltages were ok on the ram modules) Or would it be disturbans on his mainboard causing these seldom crashes or something else, until now we don’t know but he’s happy now playing at high settings. I know we could put his ram voltages a bit above spec to have steeper clock edges, but as he says all works fine now and no performance problems he’s keeping it this way.

stayed few hours at noll waiting (while watching a movie), expected it will be solved when phase 2 started but … , so took the ship for phase 2 nice graphs but totally no information what to do. Still a great game to play, me and my friends still have alot to explore and as we are into the game we’ll do , but if you make a big weekend event for atracting new players you certainly have a problem atm i’m a bit ashamed for the ones i’ve invited.
FPS limiter set to 60, but im getting 32 fps

He’ s referring to the cinematics at a vista i think, but i think you just wrote you cause here. Windows 8, new operating system, most drivers are not optimised like always when a new system comes out, or even performance problems of windows8 itself with some hardware(non signatured drivers, could even be some parts of your pc stalling the others) and so on. And as you installed a new operating system, you probably have new settings of gw2. If you wanna compare conditions, always change one parameter at once.

ok i know with this kind of games spam will always be there. But if a same message is repeating every 60 sec in chat for buying gold, please remove it. A simple filter can cope with it (let’s say if 80% of message from same person is same for 3 times within certain time ). And if so it happens 10 times after eachother ban the char auto.
“Games are nowhere near this level.” you said, but ok you corrected. Fyi the game is running good on my system, but i have some m8’s were it’s not. We could solve one system, just by looking on different forums (in this case windows services related).
That’s why if someone found a solution for his specific problem , they share it here. Would it be the drivers, would it be running a video in the background for keeping your card at high clocks, or wathever… , it can help sometimes the one who as a problem. But these last posts don’t add value
Most of the time you correct here, but code can cause system specific problems. An error in code can sometimes only affect the last of thenth of % of clients. That’s why those companies run beta test and have their quality departments.
A flaw in hardware is somethimes corrected by drivers (without you knowing it) , same is for software using the drivers. You would be surprised when knowing the exact specs of a hardware component, how easy it is to kill or overload it in software. But most of the time it’s a not intenioned bad coding of game or drivers or even hardware problem which is causing the problems. Also the same supply or cpu is not even the same for everyone, some high end chips (with broken parts or,…) are sometimes sold in lower catagories as they meet the specification of those, but are they good ?
Conclusion: most of the time it’s a combination causing the few % to have problems.
But saying “it’s not the game” is saying the same as “it is the game” .
Comparing systems., loaded processes, reading different forums can help alot to find and solve a problem. Saying it’s the game or not won’t help.
Rolo 70 is the gpu temp, the cpu sits around 60. Don’t compare laptop components with desktops ones. ex. I7 2630 which is the mobile one is specified until 100 celsius. The power supply shouldn’t be a problem it’s 150w, didn’t have a problem with it while oc under full load, however some G73SW owners who oc’d cpu and gpu claimed to have power failures and use a 200w one. But yeah as you say it won’t arm to check it.

greyphantom, if it’s the game, why your other identical system isn’t behaving the same ? Besides the fact, that from the moment you install different software (even the smallest program can cause bugs) please stick to the post or create your own one.
Hey Amen i also have G73SW. If you do autodetect Gforce you probably have the old drivers. Go to Nvidia.com select drivers, select beta and legacy, fill in your gtx460m and operating system. Select beta 306.02, runs stable on this laptop.
tip. use throttlestop for monitoring, you will see load, multiplier settings, temp of all cores seperatly + gpu temp and can set warnings and lower clocks when temp rise above a certain value. But around 70 is normal for gpu, the vent is adjusting to that temperature. Oh yeah i don’t know where you get 2 – 2,9ghz. Normal 2,9ghz is turbo mode, but asus is overclocking i7 to 2,6ghz instead of 2ghz, Same for your gtx 460 it’s also standard oc’d. And for the ones who saying it’s overheating look at the specs of this G73SW cooling systems it’s better than most desktops. I used to oc in stwor another 20% my gpu running at 80 celsius without any problem (which is still 20% below specified max temp).
edit : seems to be a new beta driver out didn’t check that one yet

alot of laptops have a bad cooling due to saving space and money.
Things you can do.
1. you could set your fan to maximum, but i doubt it will work as when set on auto your fan will adjust until it can’t go harder. Probably you just will have more noice when no cooling is needed.
2. if your laptop has his airinlet from the bottom you can buy a cooling pad for aditional cooling (can help alot especially when the laptops cooling system is under dimensioned)
3. lower your settings in gw2 and limit framerate (ex. best performance or choose a lower display resolution)
4. underclock your video or cpu depending on which is causing the overheating. (most laptops have only one vent for both cpu and gpu)
5. clean your ventilator inlets and cooling frame (dust can cause a difference of 10-20 degrees)
6. check if no other processes are claiming cpu power while playing gw2
these are the first i can think about feel free to add some.

hi Ivan, i have also have an asus but a g73sw, the cpu i72630 QM @ 2,6ghz is different but the videocard GTX460m and case is the same. Total cpu load is only about 25% max temp today 5 hours play 69 celsius max (cpu vent not going really hard). GTX 460m load about 100% temp around 70 celsius which is perfectly normal but vent on graphic card still not at max. (When i was playing STWOR temps were about 80 celsius, but there i oc’ the graphic card more, no need here in gw2). running in driver 306.02 stable, but i also used previous drivers with no problem. So i doubt it will be the gtx460m card. Maybe try to check the load on your cpu and temp, i use throttlestop for that but there are some other’s. My m8 had constant crashes until yesterday, even had a report back from anet saying is memory was prob faulty. At the end we found yesterday the cause to be a faulty file which caused a windows service to try to start endless. Norton was saying gw2 was claiming 100% of his cpu, but at the end it was caused by this service. Now he’s running at full high spec with a 40% load on his cpu.
thanks
as my body length must be at least be 15, iwrite this along
Don’t know if it’s already mentioned in suggestions (didn’t saw it in the titles), but since a few day’s i got a lot of email spamming. It would be nice if you can select the sender for a spam report.
mm you the next one saying this all with 500 series nvidia
@dizko i agree about this Smackjack character your configuration should run better and certainly there should be an higher load on your gpu, but saying it’s a problem with the game is a bit to far. Don’t forget beta 306.02 is an “BETA” driver so no guarantees. As you have a desktop (so normally can’t be throttling) and as you’r the third mentioning this issue in this thread there’s certainly a problem. Been playing a lot of other games with this laptop and it’s the first time i see load is evenly spread on cpu and gpu with this game, getting the max out of this laptop (which is maybe causing issues for other’s as it is a really stress for a pc, fyi gpu load at my gtx 460m is around 100%) But not using full power of gpu is somewhere a driver issue, bottleneck, wrong setting or something else or … as you say maybe a game issue. Therefor monitoring different hardware can sometimes give a clue, low gpu usage isn’t necessesary caused by the graphic card.
just install throttlestop it,s free. i use version 4.00. Normally when it’s running it will prevent you’r laptop from throttling. You can check the clocks/temp of you’r cpu and gpu in it. GW2 is an demanding game, your cpu should run between 2 and 2,4 ghz, if it’s not you’ve a problem.
it was just a suggestion, checking you’r load on cpu won’t arm if the clock is low you have a problem in gw2 because it also sets you’r gpu on low power. It woulden’t be the first laptop throttling for no reason. But if you say it was good before the update, ok you have a point
@corona flare
i have the same laptop, but gtx o’c 10% you can do that easly with this asus as it has a good cooling, and no problems with overheating and until now no suddenly shutdowns. However some owners have had problems with their power supply ( the dimensioning of the power supply is not that good for this laptop when fully loaded). And as there’s also some difference in specs even for the same power supply, one can have problems another not. Also depending when you bought it there is a build in not good working safty mechanism when cpu and gpu are fully loaded at the same time, setting suddenly cpu at a much lower clockrate which also can cause problems. There are bios fix for this but not official so i don’t use them. But i’m using throttlestop 4.00 which does the same trick, just run it don’t change parameters. (you can then also monitor easily cpu and gpu temp and load)
Unlike the other’s say here, your system should be fine. I use a similar but with i7 @ 2,6ghz and a gtx 460m card (you have a gt 555m, you have a second intel gpu build in your cpu which is normally used when no games are running, to save your battery)
to compare i run 1920×1080 pix, all gw2 settings high and have a stable 50-60 fps. I use the same nvidia beta driver.
It seems something is wrong with your power settings. (check if you use an high performance plan). Also allways plug in the power, otherwhise you’r shifted to a low perfomance plan to save battery.
You can use a tool like throttlestop preventing your laptop switching between plans, and checking the loads on your cpu’s. While in gw2 your cpu’s should run allmost all the time on 2,4ghz
