Ahh the everquest 2 guild managment ui.
Now i can go back to the days of seeing a 200+ roster with over 180 people missing for more than 6 months.
I think the most useless and unrewarding mechanic any game can introduce is the percentage buff (to an great extent with exceptions)
I’m sure most can disagree with me saying that anything that adds to any stat is worth a few extra pints….but I cannot fathom that.
When I have to make a choice between 10% boost of a total stat and “x” amount of raw points I am always, always, ALWAYS going to choose x points. Why? Well it’s very simple math.
Okay say you had to choose the sigil of bloodlust or sigil of force. One gives 5% damage on each weapon and the other add 250 points of extra power. And lets say you average 1.3k crits with a one hander Hits. Well with the power I can add roughly 150 extra points of damage. while 5% of 1,3k mean a pathetic 65 extra points, and it’s a weaker number with two weapons combined.
Now i’m not saying that percentage are bad for higher base damages where power can’t compete but how many people can even hit numbers that high just on main weapon. (And no thieves don’t count because all thieves are broken easy mode in any mmo so shut up. At least and d and d you actually suffered for lack of armor)
Same goes for 10% potions, speed, magic find (I know those mf only apply on the base chance of every monster drop, i.e. diablo 2 loot style. Btw 250% of 2% rare drop is 4.5% total) damage reduction and other percent buffs.
The percentages are not worth it when the number is not big enough to be noticed.
Yay I can block 10% of 4k hit from a dredge. Yeah half of my life bar went to kitten but I saved 400 hp on the chance he doesn’t smack harder or spams an attack. Oh boy 10% against undead. Now my 500 hit is 550….it’s 10% faster?
The market is full of sigils, potions and other gear that is near worthless because of those percentage buffs. Some exceptions of course
I wouldn’t take the everquest 2 route and obscenely buff items to near god-like entities compared to their previous content, only to make new enemies beyond god like in an artifice to leveling.
But I think those buffs need a second take.
How about 20%?

I find it hard enough to trust a group of 4 strangers to actually accomplish an instance with any sort of tact or speed….
Do we really want to go back to RAIDING (which is what your are asking)? having to wait up to an hour to get started, then spending every 10 mins taking 20 mins breaks before everyone just gives up?
So what you are basically asking for is what most other mmos do already….
I’m sorry but I didn’t end 7 years of Everquest 2 to go back to locked combat, hotkey mashing action.
I suppose you also want all your ground target attacks to autolock on your target as well. If you’re too lazy to actually…aim…then go back to those old mmos you love so much.

Whenever my engineer goes down but revived, he loses buffs from my two gift giver pistols: Condition duration and stats. Also sigil become null until I either re-equip them, wavepoint or enter a new zone.
Why?
Have you played PvE on any server other than Anvil Rock? I think you should, you might be surprised.
It’s not that I don’t think Engi’s don’t run around on other servers. It’s just I want to encourage more Engi growth for AR.

Okay for anyone having any hope of any pvp, let me squash it right now.
Aisde from the final event, there will be no pvp events. The reason being is that the spvp system has no control. And players can easily switch, drop, or auto balance at will. I’d prefer to keep control over the event instead of the scoreboardI never questioned it, just said it would be cool. The implication is that custom arenas will make your whole contest that much better.
Also, non “guesting” is a fair play, but be forewarned that some scruples will be spent on temporary transfers.
And, also, as a bit of criticism, while it is certainly “your” contest, … “your” attitude isn’t very welcoming about it when responding to feedback here. I recommend sticking with the tone of your announcement post.

If you had a spvp component I would compete. Regretfully I don’t pve much so I don’t have the best gear, or experience in the instances to top that stuff.
Give me pvp though and ill shine.
Well that’s is a shame, but i’d rather see our engineers out in about in our world.
Still finalist will duel in a spvp server so maybe you’ll get there.
In light of recent extreme negative criticism from forum members, outside parties, and lack of interest the Grease Monkey Challenge has been suspended for retooling. No pun intended. I apologize in advance for anyone that was looking forward or planning to participate in the Contest. I will update this thread after the contest has been reorganized.

Not sure why you guys are complaining. I do pretty well killing people without HgH.
I don’t believe a Engi should be able to take on more than 1 person at any given moment.
Nor does an Engi lose his edge when he doesn’t have might. Yeah it’s high damage but I think you can manage a better fight than using steroids.
Why not just give us more than one turret to deploy at a time?
I choose human because I find being another species to be weird. Also male because again, i’m a male.
