put your efforts toward the bounce mechanic bug…..there is a sliver of hope that may be fixed and not simply called “working as intended”.

It may be fake, but lets be honest…
Who here hasn’t looked at Illusionists Celerity and said, “Wow. Thats… really beastly for 5 points.”
We got spoiled by it, but in a sense we shoulda saw this coming… but Grandmaster!? Not even Master!? wtf.
If these changes are accurate…….i feel the same as this.
The trait should have been a 15 point investment from the beginning, so that it was seen more as a shatter trait to get clones up quicker, and so that non-shatter builds wouldn’t have gotten used to it (without making the necessary sacrifices to get the trait).
Putting it at 25 after this many months is simply too much from a “build-altering” standpoint. It decimates utility on non-shatter builds, or increases the cooldowns on more than 1/2 their skills. So shatter builds become even more popular……..
Thus, their next step is to nerf shatter mechanic (either through damage or cooldowns).
so ultimately we end up in the same spot as before this next patch, but with every mesmer significantly weaker.

….and if you don’t think 1/2 the “fixes” that come in this patch will be broken/bugged…or that multiple skills/traits will be newly bugged, you are blind to the history of this game.
which is why a “balance patch” is hilarious with so many broken traits/skills in all classes.

gotta wait about 2 more months……“they’ll look in to it”……………and a month later, it will be “working as intended”.
so just get used to it or switch weapons/builds/classes…..it will not be fixed.

lol…..so the skill can hit between ZERO and 4 times. this is intended?
I really cannot remember when my berserker (as he was properly working!) did not hit at least once.
But what should I say.. in my opinion he (in his unbugged version) most of the time did all the 4 strikes, not sometimes 1 strike, sometimes 4, sometimes ZERO.Do you really want to say he behaved in that way (ZERO to 4 times) before he became buggy?
If it matters I am talking about the pve berserker.. :-)
i don’t remember izerker being so unreliable in the past, either…..so i don’t think the behavior is intentional unless they did it to make it behave like warrior GS 3 skill (which i have no knowledge of whether it always behaved that way or switched during the Feb Patch like our skill did).
if 0-4 hits is intentional, and % of 1-2 hit attacks is also working as intended, then its a terribly designed skill considering you have to get to the 3rd or 4th hit to see significant damage. and that damage is not so high that the gamble is worth it (beyond simply tagging mobs). this should have been documented in patch notes.
stealth nerfs are lame.
if it was not intentional, and they are now claiming it to be because they do not have the time/resources to figure out a fix…..then that is even worse, as it bodes horribly for the future of the class (and game). More undocumented changes in skill behaviors (like the iZerker and Bounce mechanic) will pop up with each “balance” patch….we know this. it takes months for them to acknowledge these bugs/ “mystery nerfs”….we no this.
its very frustrating not to know if something is intentional or if its a bug……i certainly wouldn’t have wasted the materials to make a Visionm of the Mists for my mesmer had i known this was intentional behavior or that it was bugged to the point it will never be fixed.

convenient answer to ignore a bug they can’t/won’t spend time to figure out.
same will happen with bounce mechanic, no doubt. it will magically become “working as intended”.

very long dev post.
In half the time it took to write that, you could have at least addressed most of the major bug threads here and in the class subforums……and garnered a lot more goodwill with the player base.
We all know your job is tough…..but it doesn’t really excuse just how major bugs can go months without acknowledgement, let alone a fix…..and that bugs that work in the player’s favor are fixed almost immediately. Its a real problem if your team is so busy fixing exploits that it has no time for anything else.
i think the first reply has the right idea…..the current process doesn’t work, maybe the bug report system in-game could be improved

so ~70g for a rare unique skin. Seems like a pretty good deal to me since most of the rare skins go for like 300+ gold.

as much as RNG is frustrating and it would be much better to have had a way to earn one ticket (like completing ALL Dragon bash achievements)…….i can’t really get mad at a result like that…..or feel bad for the OP.
TP prices for comparable skins are much more expensive (and farming takes much longer for Mystic forge uniques than farming Dragon coffers).

Why do I not see a fix for this in today’s patch notes? This bug practically broke 1/2 of the Mesmers and it’s still not fixed? -_-
they tend to do their bug fixing at the end of the month patches (or once a month)….not every major patch.
still……don’t hold your breath on any of the big/desired-by-the-community mesmer fixes for end of this month. they haven’t even addressed them in this forum.

- Fixed a bug that let teleport skills teleport players through certain walls, most notably the clock tower’s walls in The Battle of Khylo.
- Fixed a bug that made line-of-sight checks frequently succeed when they shouldn’t.These actually make me afraid, chances are good they broke something again while “fixing” it.
agree…….so in a way, i was relieved that they didn’t touch our class specific stuff at all this “non-balance patch”.
Hopefully a different story for the end of the month “balance/bug-fixing patch”……but i certainly won’t hold my breath that any of our major bugs will be addressed or fixed correctly.

I don’t believe thread bumping is permitted in these forums, as per the t&c but i could be wrong.
However, about this point, just think about what you are asking,
1.) if attack’s don’t bounce from clones, people will complain it’s too easy to spot the non clones (players)
or
2.) if they do bounce the attackers will complain it’s not hitting players.it’s a no-win situation however you look at it, however, there is only one solution I can see which is fair to everybody.
Add additional bounce targets if it hits a mesmers clone (which it should, for equality).
if boon symbols were the only “tell” between clone/phantasm and real mesmer, you might have a point a very small fraction of mesmer players might agree with…..but since it is not, and is in fact one of the smaller “tells”, that point in your argument is moot.
if the bounces only affected phantasms (that would actually benefit from boons), and not clones (for whom they are completely wasted on), then i might buy into that as long as there was a proper/predictable hierarchy to bounce logic and phantasms fell below the player and player-controlled allies if distance is relatively the same (so some skill is involved with phantasm placement/usage). other player-pets should never receive the bounce, nor should white/yellow mobs that were not targeted.

Bouncing skills are not targeting correctly….after hitting the enemy, they are bouncing to whatever is closest (whether it be white /yellow mob, clone/pet, other red mob, NPC, etc).

i have five 80’s (AH guardian, Shatter mesmer, Hybrid damage necro, d/d ele, trap ranger). Guardian was my main and mesmer was the last of the five character slots for me to fill……hated mesmer until i got to about lvl 50…….then it became my main. Insanely fun to play and incredibly effective at whatever you want to do. the only alt i still play from time to time is the AH guardian, because it simply is better at some things than my mesmer (soloing certain content in Orr) or its needed in a dungeon run.
mesmer….all bugs considered, is by far my favorite class to play.

Sorry…don’t mean to hijack your post…but I just thought of that.
no problem…….it impossible for a mesmer player to not think of the myriad of skill/trait bugs that plaque the class. But since we’re in a better situation than some other classes………………….and we aren’t warriors who get the lionshare of dev posts/attention (honestly its sickening)……………….don’t expect a non-generic response or an actual fix to any our our bugs anytime soon. and even if they attempt to fix the bug and say they did on the release notes, it more than likely will not work or will create a new bug (my clones still attack untargeted white/yellow mobs)
that is the history we have seen thus far. there is so much good about the game, but the quality control/bug-fixing team stinks. we have enough new content…….focus on the core play mechanics now (skill/trait bugs). until the bugs are reduced significantly, class balancing is futile.

6/10….above average. it’s now the best non-COF path1 place to earn gold (until the MF boost disappears).
pro: may 28 additions (more events, insitgator chest bosses, 200% MF and Gold boost, blossoming passiflora nodes, fantastic t6 mats/exotics farming, awesome aesthetic backpiece rewards)
con: June 4 additions/subtractions (buggy Karka Queen event, removal of above mentioned events and nodes, farming nerfs, new stat armors that cost too much, can’t be sold/salvaged/upgraded and have lame newbie skins)
“meh”: Canach solo/Null group “dungeons” (its new bosses w/ different mechanics, but not really dungeons…or well rewarded).

iZerker is bugged to the point of being unusable. inconsistent hit totals/damage and the occasional failure to even attack.
couple this with the bounce attack bug ruining skill2, the mesmer greatsword is Completely bank-worthy at the moment…..

I tried making GS useable in COF but as soon as I saw it do that on a mob that I spawned… I knew that until they fixed it completely… There is absolutely no hope for this weapon… Anet are you seriously not looking into this?
Lol….I get ya……..but it is our only true range weapon with decent damage, so i still think its the best mesmer weapon for Dragons/World bosses (mindless skill1 auto).
oh, and the 25% of the time it gets the amount of hits its supposed to, iZerker is a good mob-tagger.
so that’s almost 2 uses.

agree that vet karka should at least drop a shell and one piece of loot…..but disagree with your general sentiment. the Molten facility was fun w/ great rewards (would have been fun even with lesser rewards). The settler instigator.event chains in Southsun (that are no longer running) had fantastic rewards……and the rewards for a WORKING Queen Karka chain are also good.
I would complain, however, that these living story updates are almost always rife with both minor and event-breaking bugs. Its quite embarrassing.
Also, Dragon Bash is not living story as far as i can tell……its a “holiday event” like Mad King and Wintersday. therefore, i would expect it to be MUCH better than the living story updates since both those holiday events were awesome.

i think an instant 3 phantasm elite would be OP.
As a shatter mesmer, i’d like a signet with the active being instant 3 clones….but if it has to be a phantasm, maybe its a signet with the active use copying your active phantasm (or last one conjured if you have 2 up)…….so if you have an iDuelist up, you now have two.
that said, an AoE phantasm would be fantastic and make phantasm builds more viable in non-1vs1 situations.

They will wait a month or so, and give generic or absurd response (like with iZerker). Many will be so happy just to see a “red post”, that they’ll respond with a wave of thanks/praise simply for the acknowledgement, A month(s) will pass until another game-breaking bug is introduced…..and we’ll have moved on.
None will get fixed.
I hate being so pessimistic when it comes to bug-fixing (because i enjoy so much about the game), but Anets track record so far makes it hard to feel otherwise.

that will not happen (Anet nerfs hard, and buffs soft)……..your phants WILL be nerfed significantly, but they’ll get nothing close to the buff needs to make them what you’d consider “group-play viable” compared to other specs.
so please, do not feed the trolls….or even meet them half-way with concessions. Anet listens to the whiners……and i like having as many viable build options as possible.

Gunnars Hold….none of my characters will load. one is in queensdale Swamplost waypoint near behemoth, all others are in Lions Arch. all characters stuck in unending load screen.
