With that kind of gear, Amplified Wrath is worthless. It will give you about 130 DPS (if you have 100 % burning uptime), give or take a bit. Taking 10 points out of Zeal and dumping 5 into Radiance and 5 into Virtues should yield at least 400 DPS (no boons) and more than 1000 when you have full support from a group. So the trait choice is pretty much a no-brainer.
agree. i have no interest in going condi…..so the 33%= 100-ish per pro, which is bad. 5/5/0/0/4 solo (remove s/f for staff when aoe/tagging is needed) or 4/5/0/0/5 in a organized group is best.

Last year was fun you literally was drowning in loot,now it is so boring no loot or XP from trash,mobs dont even give bloodlost stack when we kill them so everyone got lot lower dps…
don’t use stacking sigils anymore (force/battle/air/fire is so much better now)…..but if that’s true, that’s very lame. no reason a non-white mob shouldn’t count toward the stack.

i like it….it what makes playing at random hours rewarding (no need to coordinate just to do an event chain).
but they need to expand instanced content to larger groups……..there should be instanced versions of Teq and tri-Worm…..and they should develop instanced content for a player-number inbetween 150 and 5…………….instanced content aimed at 40-sh would be amazing.

To those who are thanking Anet for listening… are you serious? The main problem of this event has never been the rewards, even if they were absolute crap to begin with. The biggest frustration comes with open world organisation, as someone before me has pointed out already. No tools or ingame mechanics to make people split up and be helpful in fights. It’s like you need a PhD in every event they release. And I don’t mind learning the mechanics because that’s something I enjoy, but most of the people (and that’s the problem, MOST of the people you’re sent with in your megaserver) just want easy/smash1111 content. They don’t want to go through the hassle of organising in groups before entering to the fight or helping a group of 4 people instead of going to a 15 people group already doing fine.
I’m sorry, but those who are happy now that the rewards are buffed, either they just complete this event with their guilds (then release this content as instanced) or they haven’t played it with random people before.
understand your frustration with dumb/bad players, but they eventually get it.
everyone complained about marionette the first week…..and then after that completeing it during prime time was pretty much guaranteed no matter which server.
Anet made these players bad with the mindless open world content they created….they are trying to improve these bad players (and make sure new ones don’t become so bad) with what they are doing now…..its overall a good thing.
the key to getting bad players to try, is to make the rewards worth the effort….i think they finally did it, without making failing the event more profitable (like scarlet invasion champ farming).

there is enough vertical progression (they added ascended)……….all other progression should be purely cosmetic (but non-gem store) and achievable through completing difficult tasks (there is enough grind/farming and rng is a terrible way to “progress” aesthetically).

ANet is not against player driven strategies in a whole. They nerfed the champs in the starter areas, but left all other champs as they were.
Today I was in QD with a fresh toon and the chat was much more newbie oriented than it was before. This is and should be absolutely ok. Actually it’s nice to have a conversation with a newbie without being interrupted by train issues all the time.
But the champ train wasn’t made impossible, there are other maps where it can happen. I enjoy participating the train from time to time myself, for the loot or just for the mmo feeling in the open world as open PvE is the major part why I play GW2. It’s just about us to find new ways.
Just because they haven’t hit the others now doesn’t mean they won’t or that it’s an indication they’re fine with player driven strategies.
It took this long to get to QD.
agree…..but ultimately, its up to us. every nerf to farming events was stemmed by “real” or “perceived” toxic behavior between farmers and those trying to complete the event. thats why an event like Melandru temple doesn’t get nerfed……it’s timed. “defend-from-mass-mob-events” should always be timed….because its in the farmer and non-farmer’s interest to succeed.
i saw a decent amount of venom spewed at those who wouldn’t farm claw of jormag (pre-loot nerf….it was an amazing farm), but saw very little during champ trains in QD (it was just so easy to go to the next champ, that there was really no reason to get mad). both were nerfed due to player argument (real or perceived…i certainly wouldn’t claim my experience to represent the norm).
as long as farmers don’t try to force others to play as they do, the farm will likely survive…..as long as the farm doesn’t prevent winning.

overall I like the megaserver (bad for coordinating large events or for large guilds trying to do guild events………but huge improvement in all other respects)
but i miss the ability to log in during off-hours and solo some champs….or 3 to 5-man world bosses. wouldn’t object to a non-megaserver pve server….if doing it wouldn’t distract from trying to improve the actual megaserver.

very pleased…….i liked that they went in the direction of rewarding completion for these type of temp events, but hated the actual rewards. not enough incentive to try and organize the hoarde.
the bump to champ bags was nice…..the vendor to trade tokens for t6 mats is better. outside of the gas mask, i have no interest in the previous token rewards….this at least gives me something to spend the tokens on.
6 champ bags and 40 tokens for failing to do the event correctly is more than enough of a reward. 10 bags and 80 tokens for 8 minutes work, is quite nice.

also posting to thank the devs for reconsidering the rewards on crown pavilion……….raising the champ bag reward number in all tiers and providing merchants to exchange tokens for t6 mats.
this is a great great compromise……….and anyone complaining about 10 champ bags and 80 tokens for an 8 minute event are simply whiners. even doing it wrong now rewards 6 champ bags.
they listened….so i hope people stick with the event until the casuals “get it”, like they eventually did with marionette.

been playing an Amplified Wrath burn/power guardian (in PvE) for the last few days to change things up and am really enjoying it…..feels like it melts regular orr mobs and vets the same as pre-ferocity nerf non-burn dps builds did (though they may have weakened mobs across the board).

but was wondering if the faster burn procs from Supreme Justice would be surpassed by the Radiant Power trait (+10% dame on enemy with condition)………or are you just better off removing Amplified Wrath, and replacing that with radiant Power?
has this test been done? are there any other trait/skill/gear changes to make to optimize dps (without removing the vit on the trinkets)?

the two stacking (bloodlust and life) sigils won’t both work at the same time. only one will, so you need to replace one (bloodlust can be replaced with a battle sigil if the healing stack is most important)

please don’t (in PvE)…………….for skilled players, its not the highest dps rune set (scholar)…………..for those who aren’t “pro”, it allows one to gear /trait a touch more defensively and still contribute well in pugs (obviously an organized group will specialize better and not need everyone to pack their own might stacking capability).

guardian only has burn….and you don’t invest in it. bizarre gear stats as well…
i don’t see why you are investing in condi dmg at all.
change your condi food/gear to power/ferocity
if you want to burn…..you need 6 in zeal (for grandmaster trait that gives +33% burn dmg….way better than condi dmg), and then go power/zerk the rest of the way. you hit like a truck, and your burns are strong
also, if it really is a pve build, the 2800 toughness, and all the condi-removal utilities are a bit overkill….could spec into shouts for more “boon skakalakaing” and go more dmg-centric with the gear stats.

would also like to know (can’t really tell from trying in game). have 1.75 sec burns on VoJ passive on every 3 hits. trying out 6/4/0/0/4 in PvE…..but build editor numbers on burn (both dmg and duration) is much higher than in-game tooltip on VoJ passive.
edit- think i saw 4 ticks on one whirling wrath (503 dmg per tick)
edit2- linked build editor incorrectly adds the +25% burn duration from Supreme Justice trait to the passive instead of the active……should have known 1000 dmg per passive hit would be too good w/o using koi cakes
with koi’s +40% condi duration, passive burn goes to 2.25 seconds @ 1052 dmg and ticks 6 times during one whirling wrath for 526 dmg per tick
so it seems you are correct in your assumption of losing the fractional time/tick

they have to go into range before they will do the F2….but that doesn’t explain why the jungle stalker F2 is so bad………so slow to fire off, it really should only be used before entering combat.
i found river drake has the best/most reliable F2………..the multi-hit works really well with RaO to stack might, and since its a range attack, it works almost instantly.

they don’t have speed boosting mounts because it would render the swiftness boon (and all related skills/traits/runes/etc) irrelevant…..which is also why they wouldn’t have these “out of combat” speed skills you’re suggesting.
using a utility skill/rune/trait slot for speed boost is a choice/sacrifice you have to make to move quickly. it’s a part of the game that should not change.

leveling my first character in the new system…..don’t like it. the requirements for traits are sometimes absurd.
you can open a adept major slot at level 36 (a slot every 6 levels)….but many of the requirements for these adept major traits put you in content 10+ levels higher than lvl 36. One of the adept major traits required doing a level 55 personal story quest…..almost 20 lvls higher.
the cost to just purchase the traits are extremely high as well (unless you have a bunch of skill scrolls stored up).
i see the value in having trait acquisition based on in-game achievement (adds to progression and reason to do as much content as possible)….but at least make the requirements level-appropriate.
as it is, the inconvenience of the new system has to be killing build experimentation/diversity….
i’m just glad i leveled my other 7 toons in the old system. so i know which traits are worth the trouble getting.

i just hope the landscape is as visually striking, but altered enough, to make the JP-elements differ enough from the last one. A new track fro the sanctum sprint would be nice too (best mini-game next to SAB).

The question that no one is answering is: regardless of how “easy” it still is to get dailies, how is taking away 3-5 options “better” for anyone? How is this an improvement? What explanation is there for why this was implemented with fewer options, other than Anet trying to force people to do PvP/WvW?
its not better, just different.
they clearly want to cap daily achievement points (since they added the 5000 pt cap)….this will slow down the pace new players get to that cap. they also want more to play wvw/pvp ….and less pve options might get more players to try the pvp ones.
its not bad or good….just different. you get the same rewards either way. i like the new system better, because dailies are boring in general…but being so easy to get, i felt compelled to do them all. now i do the 5 ot 6 easy ones, and i’m off to do other things faster than before………..win for me.
I understand that less options isn’t better; they could have just allowed all the same options as before, but limited the number that counted….but they didn’t.

they should simply change up the mob/boss attack patterns and weaknesses.
slow/one-shot attacks favor zerk builds that can simply dodge/block those.
faster/weaker hits would make armor/health more valuable.
mobs/bosses that have crazy high dmg resistance, but are weak to conditions would allow condi builds to be more useful (along with removing condi spam from most weapon sets’ autoattacks, so that power builds don’t overwrite condi builds as much)

i have my complaints (balance, bugs, pve power dps-only meta), and try new games, but i always come back. it just seems to be “my game”. love the combat, the lack of “kill steal” stuff, and love the exploration (jp’s and mini-dungeons for the FTW).

world boss events (too easy before, now with megaserver its hard to even get credit)
guild options (no guild halls, guild combat, poor guild management system)
class balance (oddly tuned traits/skills that limit build diversity/viability)
unchanging PvE Meta (dps or bust, due to mob AI and attack style)
unfixed bugs (so many skills, traits, events, etc still bugged since almost release)

They could call them “Guild Reenactments.”
Reenact certain major events in the living story like the Marionette, the destruction of Lion’s Arch (both Escape from LA, and the Battle for Lion’s Arch), the raid into the Tower of Nightmares, the invasion by the Ancient Karka on LA, and the chase after and slaying of the Ancient Karka in Southsun Cove.
This could be done through hologram technology (like that used by Moto for his Super weapons, or the hologram projectors used during Dragon Bash).
fantastic idea…..really should be implemented to make some of the better temp content replayable.
either way, i thought marionette was the best LS event that they introduced…i’d take it in any form so long as it maintains its large group to smaller group character (can even see it as a fractal as already suggested…..5-man party going to single combat).
as much as people kitten about LS overall, there were certainly some really nice moments/events that would be great to replay in some form………..Marionette is the perfect one to bring back first.

The Ascended materials exist to take coin out of the game, not to inject coin into it. For each of those 140 Bloodstone Bricks you’ve created, you’ve spent 16 silver on the vendor item needed to forge them.
Being able to turn them into coins goes against what they were created for. It will never happen.

love the rune-set….allows power builds to at least be somewhat competitive to bunker condi……..makes my Ele much more fun to play.
would rather they slightly buff some of the other power or precision sets to make more “best” sets for different build-types….or buff the sets that revolve around class specific mechanics (like shattering, being in deathshroud, having compainions, etc).
will always be a best set for a given build or damage type…..but they can shoot for more ’bests".

on the pro-initiative side. the more diverse the play-style between classes, the better. setting up a system that promotes resource management to the tune of a potentially high-risk/high-reward burst style is good…….it’s the particulars of some skills and the access to extreme stealth/not enough access to counter-play to stealth, that is more complaint-worthy.
that said….one-skill-spamming isn’t effective vs. decent players…….and really only done in p/p, which is the only ineffective weapon set a thief has.

all world bosses are awful (too easy…horrible lag)……but chain events in pretty much every zone are now awesome because people do them. i’ve literally discovered dozens of chains the last few days that i never experienced before…and i’ve played since beta.
hopefully they tweak mechanics (not just numbers) to make the world bosses worthy of the now huge player blobs.
