We are looking for Avid WvW’ers located on Crystal Desert who play during the Oceanic/SEA night timezone! Just to clarify, we are PvX and you do not have to participate in WvW or dungeons if you do not want to. Most of the time our WvW group consists of some regulars and casuals, and we are looking to increase the number of regulars!

We do still do Guild Events such as guild missions, dungeons together and just talking crap! Come join us today!

Updated main post. Also moving more towards WvW side, any SEA/OCEANIC WvW guilds are welcomed to merge with us (if willing) and any SEA/OCEANIC timezone players are welcomed as well! We have several Americans and Australians so don’t be too hesitant!

We still do PvE content and do not mind if any smaller PvE only guilds want to merge with us as well as it will provide a nice balance to the guild! (We generally have +10% MF on at all times)! PvE players are also welcomed!

I would like to point out that we are interested in members who represent us most of the time!

Presence [Awe] is a Singapore based guild that has been up since the 3 day headstart, we used to be based on Crystal Desert but are now on Tarnished Coast (we still have members in Crystal Desert slowly moving across, so don’t get too confused if you see us there!)

We are a PvX guild and moving into a WvW inclined nature but we still welcome both PvEr’s and WvW’ers to our guild! Our main playing timezones are SEA/Oceanic night time, so if you play mainly during those timezones and want a guild, look no further!
We are getting our guild missions up on TC and have bounty and trek up! For now we’re doing guild missions on CD (we have all missions!) to get commendations, so don’t be worried about that if you are!

Hey Hayden.

Read this while I was stuck in camp and was.. well surprised and a bit upset, though I can understand where you are coming from. I can only appeal for you to stay but if your guild makes the decision to move off, I really wish you guys the best of luck in wherever you choose to go. It has been fun playing with you guys since the start of the game and it’s something I’ll never forget (hope I didn’t kitten you guys off at times!).

Ah well.. I hope everyone’s server is still alive after the transfers. Locking down the players will totally screw over some servers (in either huge queues or just not enough players)

Our Oceanic side isn’t as strong as people think it is!!

Though I think what you said is true (the part where we need more Oceanic players), I just find it a bit funny that you want to recruit more Oceanic/Asians then the labelled guilds are all NA side!!

Also I really hate you guys from FA and IoJ, and its a respectful kind of hate I guess? [AVTR] and [ND] with their portal bombs and 10000 golems (exaggeration, BUT IT IS ALWAYS SO MANY T_T), their numbers to be able to field enough to hold us down on two BL’s. FA for their wise decisions and relatively fast response times when attacking their side, its nice to see that you guys do try hard even when outmanned. Though I really grudge against FA when they keep poking us whenever we’re locked in with IoJ, but after thinking about it, its probably the most legit tactic anyone would use in a 3 way war like this, so even though we are getting “double teamed”, its not like its some planned alliance, its just the smart thing for both servers to do. They do poke each other but we all know FA is the most undermanned server during Oceanic timing so they can’t afford to throw their bodies at IoJ which will respond with a hell lot of siege and a zerg of 25-40 to eat you alive.

Anyway I’m not on FA so I have no idea what they are planning but this is just from my point of view, so we should just lay off all the insults and keep them within our server if you want to rage.

Hey everyone.. again haha.

Think the thread got derailed quite a few times and the consistent bickering between each of us isn’t making it better.. From my POV I’ll just list down some points that started this… bickering and other points I’ve seen/remember (can’t remember all).

I don’t actually recall who started it but I think some people a bit sore from all sides posted in a snide manner that provokes the other server so I guess we can say we are all at fault here for fighting each other.
From CD side we have some people (most recently commander Titanwar) coming in with comments we could really do without, with kitten like “we took you apart ez” or other degrading terms that implied an easy fight. We don’t really need that here, even if it did or did not happen (the reason I say this is that I’m sure everyone here has had an easy fight and also a tough one at times). Then we have others who retaliate on what the Mag/EB or whoever said stuff about us being terribad and unskilled.

From Mag side I think the main starting point and one whose name I really remember is Bunzy, coming in speaking like you own everyone hands down and can’t find a decent challenge. You may not mean this to be provocating but it really is very irritating and provocating when the way you seem to show yourself to others is that you are very good (you probably are good but no need to flaunt and degrade others) and that you can pick apart any CD players and thus regard us all as trash. Don’t know what you were trying to go with this but if you are great at fighting in small groups that’s cool, but don’t come around saying everyone is kitten because you can beat others. You can never safely say that till you fought like everyone in the server and taken them apart. But I feel that what you said really raised the tension and brought out more of the aggressive side of CD players.

I know Mag’s and EB’s were saying that CD players were claiming to be skillful or amazing because we took out everything in a BL and then CD players degrade the others as not skillful. If they did say that then shame on you, there isn’t a need to flame any opponent as long as they didn’t disrespect you.
For the Mag and EB side I don’t know whether you guys are joking or serious but to call us mindless zerg really is insulting. We may not have the best tactical moves nor the best coordination but we aren’t so stupid as to be degraded to that. I see nothing wrong with attempting to take a key point like a keep, though maybe dying to the same kitten like 3 times in a row may not be the way to do it. Holding a point with decently placed sieged and minimum numbers against a larger force is great but not astounding. Nothing is wrong with 10-15 guys with siege and a fully upgraded keep being able to hold off a group of 30-40 guys. Theres a reason why defenders are favoured when defending and you can’t really expect a group of 40 to take a keep from a group of 40 defending it, as the defenders SHOULD have the advantage. So please lay off the mindless zerg thing and throwing bodies at a wall. I mean seriously where else do you want us to attack? The tower next to your spawn? or the garrison near your spawn (and towers), it’d be nightmare attempting it unless we can pull off a cool ninja.

Honestly speaking I kinda forgot what the EB players said (and also who here is from what server. for those without the information on the sig)

So I hope that kinda layed out why we are all fighting, what everyone sort of said to each other (as best as I can remember) and that we can come to terms with it. Yes CD does outnumber Mag and EB and yes we do hit the same kitten for a long time in an attempt to get it, there may be improvements to our strategy and way we fight but try to bring it in a manner that doesnt provocate others.
Mag has good defence and fast response times, but lack the numbers to be able to do more and hold ground. Same goes for Ehmry. I don’t know about the super skilled players who can take on 1v5 and own everyone but I do hope I do not meet you in a 1v1 situation.

Also, I fight on Oceanic timing and purposely attack your BL (Mag) so that we have a more even fight because our main group is always in EBG/PvEing, so the last 2 nights have been sort of 1:3 Mag favour at the start, then 2:1 CD favour, ending with around 1:1 even numbers. It has been enjoyable fighting and gaining (sometimes losing) ground and I learnt and sharpened up my WvW skills from fighting you guys. I hope you all have fun WvW in your own way and if we do meet again in the higher tiers (assuming CD moves up this round and doesn’t get manhandled by TC/YB), heres to a good clean fight (I can’t really apologize for the hackers since I don’t know them but… I fight cleanly at least). I forgot what I was gonna put in at the end so… bai

Well onto the thread topic..

Firstly, thank you to Maguuma for putting effort to fight and not give up (seen it happen too many times on my server when we are getting our kitten handed, cant even field a group of 20), so props to you. From the previous thread I can see that we pretty much don’t like each other for various reasons.

From being on Mag BL I can see that you guys move pretty fast to provide support where you are able to and you can set up counter siege pretty fast.
Though the main reason why I go to Mag BL and not EB BL is because of what you all said about you guys being outmanned and such.

Yesterday when I went into Mag bl we started off outnumbered 1:3 or 4 and only managed to take our spawn tower and then proceeded to get stuck fighting your group which was around 1:2 in your favour. We persisted and held our ground till eventually reinforcements came and for the remainder of the night we slowly pushed down both west and east keeps.

Today it was a bit harder, when I went in it was around 1:5 at the start, with us having around 5-7 guys, though we first fought a small group of about even numbers or a bit more (props to you for the good fight, we got wiped like 3 times and only beat you i think twice). After a long fight we finally took 2 towers and tried to go for the keep (at this point I think we had around even numbers? Or maybe you had a bit less once again can’t tell). Pushed in and took the keep and spent the remainder of the night trying to take east keep but getting outzerged. At some point we were outnumbered but it was still fun trying.

I know its hard to be on the receiving end of being undermanned, I’ve played in CD since 3 day headstart and have been through the up and down weeks where we have no one on the kitten borderlands and trying to take a supply camp gets me zerged by 30 for my group of 7 or so. It’s harsh but I can’t do anything except ask around for help, if none comes I just have to make do with what I have, maybe ninja a tower and try to hold out against an onslaught of invaders trying to steal my cookies.

Yes we definitely have more numbers than both EB and Mag as we can hold 2 BL’s and invade one more, but please don’t call us huge mindless zerg… We may not have great coordination but we have to have a bit to be able to take down keeps that are geared up and defended with siege (like yesterday). 10 guys with well placed siege and some skill can hold off a group of 20-30….

So can we all lay off the insults and just… i don’t know, talk about the fights?

I’m Leaxanna guild leader of Presence [Awe].

Been fighting on CD since the game start and only recently got my commander icon and started trying to lead more often, and have been in Mag BL the last 2 days.

Before I talk about anything else I’ll talk about the picture posted above about the CD hacking. Yes I saw the picture and I know that’s my guild member in that picture. I just want to say I do not approve of hacking of any kind and from the best of my knowledge none of my members hack (we aren’t that big of a guild anymore).

Just now I was there fighting at the west keep as well and after checking with some of my members, I think that may be one of my mesmers hiding outside the western inner wall (we were trying to hide him so we could have a mesmer port back in in case of a wipe). That picture could be that said mesmer.

As for the spell, which after checking is a guardian underwater spell, we only had 3 guardians there (one of them being me, I was at the south outer most of the time until the final push in), the other was dying most of the time at the front inner gate (water area), and the last one was there lagging around and tele’ing (I supposed this is from lag as 2 of us saw him freeze (running on the spot?) at one spot, get downed and suddenly appear a hell of a distance away still downed). So that character could be his character lagging around. Lastly, also could be the knockback glitch where a character gets knocked out of the map but then again I was not at the frontline at that moment so I can’t confirm this.

So yeah… Will be looking into this case to ensure no one is hacking and I apologize to any Mag’s about this.

Okay yeah, I just wanted to say that we are all equal, or at should have been anyway. I do agree with your final statement but… Currently aside from completely revamping servers like by creating a few Oceanic servers with region lock I can’t think of another solution. But even that has its flaws as what.. we’d only be able to make only a few servers on that end.

The fact that your server doesn’t have players during your “night time” and you lose your “worth” isn’t really the intention of Anet I believe. It may seem that way currently but you should cut them some slack. This problem doesn’t really have an easy solution.
Those who are talking about server population in WvW buffs/debuffs should know that it won’t work out. Any kind of timezone benefit/“punishment” will result in people of that timezone complaining that the other timezones get benefits while they get “punishment” and vice versa. Like NA peak timezone remains the same while in Oceanic we get some kind of debuff though we fight against few to no one at all? That makes WvW pointless for us too, which already makes the game not fair for us in that aspect. We use up less time but its still time nonetheless in WvW, but in the end that time will become meaningless and eventually Oceanics WvWing will make minimal impact. Then it will become whomever is not on NA peak timing complaining like crazy and it goes on forever.
Adjustments to the point system based on timing also will not work as it devalues the time of other people in the timezones affected. Making other peoples time more worth it and other’s even lesser.
If you really want a “fair” system, there is really no other way about it then to be proactive and recruit these “night time” players/guilds to your server and try to fight your way through.

… and then you end it by saying the only way we can compete is searching out and recruiting this very small set of players, who are in high demand because their worth is so much higher than everyone else?

Well I did put a “fair” <—- meaning its not exactly the best method but its the only one I can think of that won’t cause grief to others. I’m not saying people in Oceanic timezones have more worth that someone in NA, just that you don’t have people in that timezone to help you fight. The point I wanted to make was to just say that changes to the WvW points system/population system wouldn’t work out without really causing some kind of complaints from one side of the world.

I mean when I was fighting ET/IoJ we’d come in and fight a zerg of like 60 and all I had was 15 guys. We got totally destroyed by them, but what my server did was start asking around for those Oceanic’s who were lurking around and asked if they were willing to start participating in WvW to help CD rise up…

Of course I can’t say whether your server has any Oceanics or what but theres nothing else you can really do aside from staying up to play yourself to cover your "night time
shift (which of course is madness) or to try to recruit more oceanic players to your server.

Just to reinstate the above, I’m not trying to give like a 100% solution I’m just saying that its quite hard to get a proper solution without pissing someone off.

I’m a CD Oceanic player and I’m quite glad that there is a decent number of people to fight with. Last time against ET and IoJ my guild and I would walk into 1:3 odds and generally get faceraped. Though I found it a bit saddening at around wednesday when most of the DB and TC people in the borderlands (assigned to fight in the BL’s) disappeared (though i think this is due to the lack of off peak players). Nonetheless, thanks to DB and TC for putting up a great fight (especially in EBG, been asked to send in help there everyday during the starting period)! Hope to fight yáll again
