“Seriously, QFT. Each game I’ve needed a top stat, I res one guy. Daily top stats.
Which probably says something about us all”
So.. what you are saying is the optimal strategy is to let someone die so you can revive him to quickly get the daily? This is why “top stats” has to go. It makes us do these things.
This being a requirement for daily pvp has turned my matches from something enjoyable to a boring daily chore.
I often neglect you know, actually winning the game, in favor of trying to farm some top stat so I can quickly get this done with. It isn’t natural to get this achievement. It can happen naturally, but given that we want to get the daily as fast as possible so we can do the other things we need, we just focus on this at the expense of everything else on the pvp match.
My suggestions is simply to change it to Daily Win or Daily Wins, up to a number of 3.
I use a 32’ TV for playing games on my PC. Most people that see it, tell me that the colors look different on it (which they do). They are more lively on it.
During the last boss on the Aetherblade dungeon, I simply cannot see the red AOE circle when in contrast with the blue ground + the shining effect. Especially during barrage, it happened many times I was standing still, my finger on mistform in any case, and I got hit by the aoe I did not even notice would happen.
The only way I can perfectly spot during barrage is if I face my camera completely from a top down view, and not isometric.
Please make the aoe circle more visible overall, or do not use floor colors that conceal it.
I have already done the dungeon once and defeated all the bosses, and thought it was hard to spot the AOE, but now that I went to do it again it was obvious to me it wasn’t just hard, it was nearly impossible most of the time.
New video, getting a lot of people from LA on top of the bank with a mesmer’s portal
pretty fun
But then what if the person that is holding a siege weapon goes AFK or is messing up and delaying the event for everyone else?
This is the kind of issue you get with a public event. You can’t rely on people doing their job right. It is fine for an instance type of challenge because you can control who enters the instance.
Having useful siege weapons to speed up the process is great but shouldn’t be about them, unfortunately.
Finding more interesting ways for the community to play together and bond together on dragon events would be good though.
Right now we zerg, we get loot, we get out. The only MMO aspect of this is the map chat. Other than that we are almost playing with NPCs around us. And you always win on a dragon public event. So the only thing to do, is to let players win better and broadcast that somehow
Also, the top players ( a mix of healing/DPS/protection.. ) could be displayed. They don’t even need to be rewarded more, just being displayed as the top players on the dragon events would be rewarding enough.
This would also cause people to be less lazy about changing their builds for dragons for top DPS.
Usually we sit with a lot of unused skills during them.
Make so players on WvW can’t whisper/mail each other while their are at the borderlands (unless they are friends).
This prevents trash talking while playing and keeps the hostile mood between realms.
Edit: I strongly agree that no player names takes a huge reward from players, specially on something that is supposed to be a social massive game: the quest for glory and fame. I care more about being known and feared on WvW than legendaries.

The main problem with dragon events is that while it takes a raid to do it, people don’t really work with each other.
We just sit there, some semi-afk, kill the dragon and collect loot.
A much interesting way to handle this would be in my opinion to measure how well the whole group at the event did, and reward players more with non random loot and random loot for it.
For example, the number of players that died during the event, how long it took to kill the dragon, these things can be taken in account to reward more or less the players.
That way they’ll try harder and work harder with each other, to make sure and receive the constant loot and maybe a better chance/more quantity for the random one.
When people are fighting the claw of jormag for instance, many times I’ve noticed some groups that can DPS him to second phase during the second barrier, and many groups that have to go through a third one. It´s fun when we can do it before the third, and if the game rewards us for that all the better

New video, reaching the top of the bank in Lion’s Arch
I hope they never patch it.. maybe only some invisible walls on places that would let people appear in weird places to other players.
But it is so much fun doing this.
I’ve found other places already, I’ll post the videos once I make them.
A new video, this time on Lion’s Arch. I was happy when I actually found a way to get up there, spent some time looking for a way in.
Here are some videos of me and a couple of people reaching places you shouldn’t be able to go in guild wars 2.
1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqBbzv9j_ds&feature=plcp
2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur_RrzP0XTw&feature=plcp
I hope anet never “patches” nor prevents this, as it is really fun trying to find these places.
At least give us a LFG channel for now, if you are in doubt of what you want for the future of dungeon matchmaking
So, when are we getting the much needed dungeon finder tool that does the work of finding other players for us automatically?
Computers are really good at automated tasks that are repetitive and generally boring for humans
I’d rather not have to worry with that. Is there no way to disable their security system?
I have a dynamic IP, so I’m forced everyday to allow a new IP to play the game.
Thank you.
You guys implemented a system that works against good people that can do dungeons fast, AND that fails to show us the feedback of what is going on. This is terrible in my opinion.
Here is a great suggestion: When you choose a path, it will show you how many tokens you’ll get from it. At least people make an informed decision and know what is going on.
Also, since we have no dungeon finder tool, instead of just finding a group for Honor of the waves, I have to find a group for Honor of the waves: Path x. Is this what is going on now?
Did you just make it HARDER to find groups?
I really love guild wars 2 but content, gameplay and usability are not going hand to hand.
The first time I heard about Story Mode and Explore mode I thought to myself “that is a terrible idea”. Looks like I’m right.
I thought exactly about this problem. People will do explore modes over and over, but story mode only once. Eventually people will have a hard time getting story mode groups.
Second, NOBODY reads the story. Everyone skips it. It is obviou that this thing would happen. Even those interested in the story will skip as to not bother other players.
I’m sorry but looks like the people responsible for this decisions didn’t even play online games.
They need allow to explore mode regardless of story mode now to fix what they did, and if they want to keep the story mode thing going on, they’ll need to find a good reward so people do it once.
But this was a messy system to begin with.
I’m loving guild wars 2, level 80 for a while now. But arena net is showing some terrible decisions when it comes to how they tie content with gameplay in my opinion.
The concept of what you guys at Anet are doing is simple. You are using 90’s technology on what is supposed to be an up to date game.
I thought exactly that when I was posting earlier. To be fair I was thinking 2005.
Edit: On the financial side of things, I think Anet would actually lose players by not having a proper dungeon finder tool (not even a LFG chat channel at this moment..).
And maybe even make players lose faith that they can deliver a great game better than anything currently out there, which is not good for the longevity/expansion packs for GW2.
GW2 is already one of my favorite games, and I haven’t enjoyed a MMO since Everquest1. But not having a dungeon finder tool that assembles a party automatically would be a serious let down
(edited by Revler.2359)
Also, if devs want PvE people to do more than dungeons 24/7, make a better reward for doing the daily achievement.
It is great to do it, but without a proper reward, I may wonder if my time wouldn’t be better spent finishing one of the games on my backlog.
Not giving us a dungeon feature is just crazy, specially for a game with the development quality of GW2
“To everyone complaining about the lack of one… Have you PLAYED WoW lately? EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. is sitting in Ogrimarr (don’t give no kitten about spelling it right) or the Alliance capital and queuing for dungeons through the finder. Nobody is in the world. Nobody is doing anything except SITTING THERE and QUEUING.”
That is because there is NOTHING to do on “world” of warcraft besides instancing. Be it PvE or PvP. You never play on the world unless you are leveling up.
Guild wars 2 is not the case. You can do jumping puzzles, events or just farm mats while getting to a dungeon.
This game REALLY needs a dungeon finder AND a LFG channel to begin with, that can be scraped later once the dungeon finder feature is implemented.
The only reason I am not doing dungeons about 50x more than I currently am is because it takes too long to find a group, or worse, you have to move from place to place trying to find one.
There is no amount of bump for this thread. It needs to be bumped to the moon.
PvP? Server browser
WvW? Queue or instant join
World Events? Just go to the area and play with other people.
Dungeons? Spam chat.
This really needs to change
Tried a group for AC now, couldn’t do it because of the frequent skillbar disconnects.
The issue has lessened a lot, but sometimes I’ll have to bail on a group because of this.
I like how the zone maps have the % completion displayed on them.
Could the crafting disciplines have it too? Show me that I have discovered 100% of the master armorsmithing recipes and 74% of the initiate ones. Something like that.
I don’t see the point of hiding this information from users. It doesn’t make the game better nor “more realistic” in my opinion, just more convoluted.

I agree with error. To sum it up dungeons seem to be lacking challenge and personal responsibility from dying. That doesn’t make the game as engaging.
And I really like GW2 dungeons over wow’s. GW2’s dungeons are chaotic and require crowd controlling, while WoW was so repetitive it was more like guitar hero than anything else.
Then anet should make easy and harder versions of the dungeons, with a better chance of getting good loot on hard mode.
Having waypoint respawn abuse as a way to make the dungeons easier is just plain ugly.
WvW is about server war, and not a balanced match just to have fun.
The fact that you can lose resources (gold) as well as win makes WvW more meaningful.
But I understand the frustration.
They could shift the penalty for dying in WvW to something that pertains only to WvW, but finding something that people actually care about as much as gold is hard.
Right now during a dungeon fight, people that died can just respawn in a waypoint and run back to the fight and win some encounters by brute force.
This kinda reminds me of diablo 2 with people opening town portals next to bosses and just re-entering them after dead to keep punching the boss. (and the reason I moved to hardcore).
My suggestion when people die within a dungeon is that they can’t use a waypoint until:
1) you leave the party and get moved from the dungeon
2) Nobody inside the dungeon is in combat (wipe or they beat the encounter)
3) Team members revive you
I haven’t done a lot of dungeons, but this waypoint respawning thing happened on the ones that I did, and it seems to be taking away from the challenge of the game.
This got a lot better for me in the past few days.
Still happens with some frequency on L.A non overflow and some PvP servers, but on other areas if it does happen at all I can just log back in and doesn’t happen again for a long time.
What worries me is that I thought this was an issue everyone was having so it would be fixed soon. But then I learned we apparently are the minority. Most people don’t have this problem.
It could be months before we find a fix to this.
Edit: Not even sure if anet acknowledges this as an issue on their part
I started playing on pre-order launch day, and the problem happened on the first week/few days
I keep getting the same message but not from the launcher.
When I’m playing the game this repeatedly happens on some areas like Timberline Falls or Fields of Ruins, but I can play the game fine on most other areas without getting the said message at all.
I’m level 60, so I covered a lot of areas.
I use AVG free, and tried the option to turn it off completely, and also disabled the windows 7 firewall. The problem persisted.
Edit: Also, I’m not using Wi-Fi/Router. I plug my internet cable from the PC directly to the moden
