I once 1v5’d OG in SPVP.. They are the only guild to give me a challenge so far.

AoE in this game “too strong” is laughable. Anyone remember Hib bomb groups in another unmentionable game?

If they do a blanket nerf of AoE dmg .. fine. But they better compensate the classes that have 90% aoe attacks. Im perfectly fine with having a significantly stronger auto attack on my ele in exchange for less aoe dmg.

Although it would make playing it VERY boring.

why does AD keep saying we gave them kitten over a video they posted? What started this whole thing was a reply to a post I made about this match up not being fun for me (as a roamer) and someone from AD posted something about them running into us and not being impressed.

basically…AD had claimed they rolled us… and no one from OG had ever seen or heard of AD. Thats what sparked this “fued”

If we run into you and have a good fight.. we will give you credit.. we did for WaR.. infact we had several good fights with WaR.

Impress us and we will give you the credit you are begging for, till then I guess keep blowing smoke.

I ask you both, what are ur crit chances? I seem to go low on crit chance whenever i replace power prec toughness trinkets/jewelry (35% atm w/o fury)

My crit was only at 24% while recording this video, crit dmg was at 54%.. this is before all food or buffs.

I have already went back to my previous build 0 15 0 25 30 and switched up my gear a bit. Its a bit more balanced, 0 20 0 20 30 was fun and it is a viable build.. it just wasnt working out for me. My guild has a tendency to always fight out numbered, and this build was dying too easily under that pressure.

I am also thinking about going 0 10 10 30 20 auramancer for guild groups.. I just wish the range was larger for aura share.

For some reason in this game.. I find very hard to target people. I’m so used to tab-targetting in other games that actually target the person closest to the center of your screen that I never really had to click on people. In this game if I use tab-target, it targets about 30 random things before it actually gets to my enemy, so it is forcing me to click… and I dont click anything…ever when I am pvping… so its an adjustment I’m having to work through.

I havent really looked at all the different food yet, infact I JUST started using foods a couple weeks ago.

for the build, I was 0 15 0 25 30 before i switched to this.. I know what I am missing from water 25, the 20% dmg from low health enemies is what I was going for. There are two things stopping me from taking 10 out of arc, thats the heal on dodge, and the quicker attunement swapping. Because a big part of our survivability is determined by how often we can switch to water for our heals, and how often we can switch to earth for protection.

Thanks for the tips, I’m constantly learning more and more causing me to slowly advance my playstyle. I actually have started trying to switch attunements less rapidly to make sure the right attunement is available when i need it, and also so that the CDs I need in that attunement are going to be there for me. But there are alot of things you mentioned that would be useful, for example switching attunements right before CE lands for the fury buff. I will practice switching attunements during the last spell of the current attunement I channel.

For your question about record tool and codec… I use fraps to record, but I don’t really know much about codecs and have no clue which I use.

For food I usually use the one that gives 10% crit dmg and 200 pow after a kill. I will have to look into using those other buff items >_<

LOL, I wasn’t there and I didn’t have to be to know exactly what happened, Your zerg ran into a group of OG, you managed to kill one OG so you took a snapshot. Same thing with the second shot. There is a commander icon and swords right next to you in both screenshots.

No Name warrior trying to make a name for himself posting screenies of dead OG. I’m starting to see a trend here….

Wow, I just finishing dueling several [OG] players in Maguuma BL. I have to say they really have some great players. We couldn’t manage to beat their 3v3 or 2v2 teams with the classes and traits we had set up. I did however manage to defeat them in several 1v1’s with out any losses, though it was very tough. We would definitly like to fight you guys again someday in some more 3v3 and 2v2 match ups. Maybe even 5v5’s would be great.

Once again you guys prove you know your stuff in PvP and I enjoy fighting you guys because it only makes us all better players. Thank you for the epic battles tonight.

I lost every 1vs1 duel =(. Makes me want to go back to bunker build.. but its just not as fun. I will just have to get better at using my cantrips and dodges efficiently. I didn’t know what to do against your thief.. i can spam aoe attacks at the air all day and you still always pop up full health.

wow so much forum drama. I will say this: any guild we run into that earns our respect, we will give credit to. The only guild that has earned my respect so far this match up is [WaR]. I can’t speak for all this forum bickering because i wasn’t there for any of the fights, but I can say that I cannot believe that [PRO] beat us. Because everytime I was able to play this week we rolled right through their 10-15 man groups with no issues at all. I mentioned in a post before that I noticed a couple of decent players in those groups though.

Easily believable. There are other roamers around, however the roaming mindset usually drives them to go to enemy borderlands, where there’s more chance to run into the massive zergs and less chance to run into other roamers. That’s the way it goes :P

Right when I was going to write this week off as a zergtastic horrible loss of a match up, I encountered [WaR]. We had a blast fighting you guys, best ele I’ve fought in WvW so far. Each one of your players were solid. Being the target of your thief focus was a nightmare. GG guys!

Also It was fun fighting with the large [PRO] groups, you guys have a few great players aswell.

The bunker wins unless you go full GC burst ele, in which case if you dont kill them with your first combo you will lose.

I have been playing a more crit based ele build lately and it is VERY hard to win against bunkers. You get their health down quicker and put them on the defensive fast, but after their healing rotation they are back to full health, where as each of your healing rotations will only get you back up about 50% of your health, So if you cant catch them off guard with all their cantrips down.. you will lose over time.

Also, I have dueled many friends on other classes with my buker ele, then my crit ele. Bunker always wins hands down, the crit ele is always a much tougher fight. I believe that bunkers in general are better for 1vs1.

I wouldn’t mind xfering for a bit.. this current match up is horrible.

EDIT: horrible for our playstyle, not trying to offend either server we are up against.

The BP zerg in BPBL is the funniest thing i have seen in WvW so far. Its literally a ‘roaming’ zerg. No objective, just run as a zerg and chase down everything they see, its hilarious.. and sad.

dagger earth 3…… I cant tell you how much I CC myself for 3 seconds with this skill. I think I’m just gonna stop using it all together which sucks because having an immobilize is so good. Nothing funner than fighting a GC thief and then stunning yourself for 3 seconds while he kills you with 2 heartseekers.

Also the RTL making you stop running when it ends.. very annoying.

I don’t get the over shooting like some others but Ive watched it happen in WvW to alot of people.

For all the people bashing our “cookie cutter” builds… I’m pretty sure we all run different builds. Some of those builds may be popular, some not. I can assure you none of us ‘googled’ our builds. I don’t understand this argument at all, are you forced to run horrible builds in your guild? I’m pretty sure you have the same capability to run whatever build you want just like we do.

If our group comps and builds are so “mainstream cookie cutter” then wouldn’t that mean that the majority of groups we run into would be running the same thing? We don’t even have a lvl 80 mesmer! If you want to prove that we are just a bunch of noobs running FOTM OP classes then gather the most OP group comp you can dream of and challenge us. Till then shut up and get owned.

Oh ya and Bunzy, during the video you ask why you guys are spread out, its because your never in vent fool!!!

I re-read your post and I realize it was not written in the tone that I had thought, I’m used to us just constantly being bashed in these threads because no one seems to like bunzy’s posts. I thought it was a “OG is so good they had to 4v1 me” post but i realize now you were just explaining the situation.

As for the “cookie cutter” comments on these forums…….. I came up with all my builds before the whole daphoenix thread, before all the FOTM eles started playing, and I don’t even run bunker,, BUT none of that matters. Everyone is going to pick the best traits they can for their playstyle and surprisingly there are going to be other players that play your playstyle, and they will pick the same traits, and they will make posts about their builds and some of those builds may get popular. WHO CARES!? Me running this build does not make me any better than someone running 0 10 0 30 30 bunker, or any better than a common GC thief set up, or a popular hammer warrior build, or shatter mesmer, con necro, bunker gaurdian, so on and so on.

Sorry for the rant I just hate when people think someone is only good because of their build. Trust me I have run into several “cookie cutter” d/d ele’s that were easy to kill.

So… finally came across some OG. I was running by myself to catch up to my group after porting to garrison to sell stuff in my full bag and stopped to check my map when BOOM! I got hit. I turned off my map and proceeded to reduce two of them to about 25% health and a third to about 70% when a fourth showed up. At the point where it was 4v1 I was overmatched and fell… Especially because I’m spec’d for supporting large groups with practically no utilities for 1vX. It was a fun time! Maybe I’ll run into you guys once I have my DPS build finished and I’ve had some time to practice.

When I’m out solo and get rolled up on by a group of 5 yaks, they kill me too, takes them about 3-5 minutes but ya they kill me. Should a group of OG not kill one Yak?

For everyone that says “go play Spvp” 3 of our core members used to only play spvp, but we got tired and bored of conquest, it just isn’t fun. We have stated many times as soon as they implement a “deathmatch” type mode, we will be there. Until then we will be roaming WvW for our pvp.

Bunzy is constantly asking for proof of OG dying because they supposedly never do, so I don’t know why you would ask that kind of question. Though that in and of itself is idiotic considering OG never has proof of anything they do either!

Sorry, but I’m not about to video everyone I kill. I still rarely see you guys, but I tend to stay where the fighting is. Here’s the last time I found an OG member. Had to go 2v1 outside their tower, wasn’t a problem. I’ve seen this guy a couple times and he’s a free kill. I’ve saw another thief once, also a free kill. A couple weeks ago I heard there was an elementalist around, but got chased off by a hammer guardian.

I didnt know ele’s had illusionary beserkers. 2v1 huh? Also,, thats a really bad angle.. I cant tell who that is lol

You forgot to mention your “teams” consist of at least 20 players each.

You guys just don’t get it. No one else but you cares about kill ratios. Everyone else in WvW is trying to take your stuff (and succeeding while you are running around), killing is just a means to that.

Its very simple, some people like to PvD, some people like to PvP. We like to PvP.

Somebody has never heard of extending. Its ok we don’t expect you to understand, just stick to the comforts of your zergs. What you failed to mention is how many we kill while we are getting chased by your zerg.

I saw it happening to other eles tonight in wvw.. but never happened to me.

Oh how I missed EBay, so many fun fights, so many rainbows bouncing around, so many badges.

Ebay – They were the funnest because you could always find good fights with small groups, not just huge zergs running around.

I have to give a shout out to the only guild that gave a full OG group a run for its money [LZBO] lezbian seagulls I think. I don’t remember which server they were on but they definitely gave us the most intense fair fight.

I have been seeing less d/d eles in wvw recently, but I have also been lvling up an engi and like someone else stated… all I see are thieves and d/d eles.

looks like a really fun gimmick build. No it is not viable, he uses his only escape as an opener and he has no cantrips. So as soon as he is done with his burst he has nothing, and a few hits will kill him easily.

but i enjoyed watching the obliteration =)

Ive only played twice since this new match up and both times it was pretty zergy, So I can’t really comment on the roaming scene for this week. We would enjoy fighting Ebay again though.

I have thought about dropping down to 20 arcane to add 10 in fire for a higher dmg build but I am already switching attunements so fast that I lock myself out of all of them pretty often. I would really have to slow my playstyle down to accomodate, and I don’t want to do that. So ya 30 arcane is pretty much mandatory for me.

I don’t trait 30 water so I miss out on some of the condition removal most 0 10 0 30 30 builds have, so I feel Ether Renewal is necessary. The down side is it makes you unable to attack for the 3 1/2 seconds you have to cast it. The upside is its up every 15 seconds and you are completely condition free after every time you use it.

There are some high rank burst oriented ele’s that have turned my world upside down, and I play a d/d ele. I don’t know how they do it. I thought I was good until I faced a couple of these guys.

Quoted because this is what roaming is really about. You don’t need a profession that can win fair fights, you want a profession that never has to fight fair. Mobility means only engaging in fights you know you’re going to win.

I solo roam with my ele, and my favorite fights are 1v2, 1v3, 1v4… And I never know if I will win those fights, the only fights i try to avoid are 1v5 +. So I disagree with your “fair fight” argument, but you are right that, if we need to run away, we can usually get away.

Which is why I’d never want you on my team. If everyone did the same, you’d get screwed if one of your people gets downed and stomped which would rally all of the people you left behind for “others” to deal with.

I hate thieves, but this is exactly why a good thief is essential in any small roaming wvw group, if you don’t have anyone stomping then you lose as soon as one of your allies is stomped.

Why the hate on my post in the last thread?? All I said was I got to play a bit and I feel like DB’s players are generally better than Yaks.

I don’t build my ele like most others do and even if I did run the same build as all the FOTM ele’s, thats not the reason I win. This “cookie cutter” insult is so foolish.

Got to log in finally and play a bit.. I think DB has more skilled players in their zergs than yak’s, definitely. Havent been able to do any small group combat yet.. just way too zergy.

And to the guild bunched up walking towards our spawn in DB BL, thanks for the easy badges.

If they look at “fixing” this, I can almost guarantee you that they will change all auras to give 5 seconds of fury and swiftness.

You can count me, I’m a “GOOD” one. What does that bring the count to?

I am also annoyed with all the FOTM eles, but it is fun to fight them. They use the exact same combos over and over.. I can read them like a book. Some eles I come across I can destroy in seconds others (usually running daphoenix’s tank build) are pretty tough to kill, even the FOTM ones. In these fights it always depends who gets back up first, they usually win.

So I can understand Bunzy somewhat, but there is some good to the FOTM eles. Because there are so many, people are starting to learn how to counter us and we are slowly becoming less “OP” because people know how to deal with us, which is great for 2 reasons. The kittenty FOTM eles will go back to their mains or the next FOTM, And us original eles are forced to change up our methods, coming up with new builds and finding usefulness for skills/traits that were over looked before.

One thing I love about this game so far is how much the gameplay keeps evolving. Remember when 100b warriors were all the rage? or Eles were laughed at, remember when hardly anyone used to play thieves?

I love how I have to constantly change the way I play my ele to keep up with all the new ways enemies counter us.
