Seems this thread is becoming more of a QQ from people who hate thiefs rather than thiefs giving feedback on the class :P

And what can you expect from crying kids who dont know play their class. They was defeated by some thief and now need to cry here on forum and hope that Anet nerf thief so they can kill thief more easily with their poor play style. I dont know why they created this topic here. They should have known that it become QQ topic instead of feedback on the class. Thief IS NOT OP omg, kids!!!!

Yes thief is totally underpowered class which suffer every patch because crying kids still QQ for nerves because some thief killed them on WvW. The true is that thief is now UP after all these nerves and as glass cannon die in 2-3 seconds. He has high costs of initiative so after using 2-3 skills thief is defenceless with no skills and easy target for other players. I would really have better normal cd skills then initiative because initiative is all time out and then thief die. The real OP class here are necros and mesmer. Fighting mesmer is like fighting agains small army with many crowd controls and necro can have summoned about 7 permanent monsters at one time, hp like tanks almost double than thief, life stealing from enemies. These two classes are op like hell but all cry for thief nerf. You are really a joke, crying kids.

How would you feel if stealth was removed?

Yes, remove thief and let present thieves choose another profession with same gear, level, archievements, maps revealed…etc. Thief was totally ruined during last patches with nerfes. All cry here on forum and Anet still listen and dance how crying kids play. Thief = useless, with no defence, no damage and nerfed with every new patch. Remove thief.

I hope that Anet developers are intelligent enough to not listen crying of small kids with 1. level character who was defeated by full-exotic 80. level thief on WvW. Developers cannot be so much blind and dont see that these whimpering fools only want ruin thief class. They will be satisfied only when thief is no opponent to their class and thief is totaly ruined.

If you really want balance classes and characters look on necromancers with about 7 permanent minions, HP like tank and super HP taking from enemies.

If you really look for balancing classes and character look on warriors with much more damage and HP than thieves and more weapons to use.

If you really look for balancing classes and character look for rangers which has 1000+ range and can kill glass class like thief in 2-3 seconds only wich autoattacks and some skills.

If you really want to balance classes and character look on mesmers which are like small army with thousands of clones and illusions and you must kill almost 4 characters to kill this one mesmer.

Necromants, Warriors, Mesmers and Rangers are OP, not thief. Thief is only underpowered victim of crying kids.

All that thief has is only short stealth and higher damage and you want to take it and make thief like paper with no damage, useless skills and nerfed stealth. Bravo, Anet, if you want useless and unplayable class you are on good way with thief :-/

You do better Anet if you put same energy to removing lags during one-time events than ruining thief class.

Dear developers. Thief really need some balance but buffs instead of nerfing. Thief is on many aspects very weak and underpowered.

1) buff of pistol and bow skills which are now really underpowered and some totally useless (like very short daze shot or body shot which is useless)

2) rework of F1 only to F1-Fx buttons where should be F1= stealth and F2-Fx should be poisons buttons. Many other classes has many skills on F1-Fx and thief only one and most time useless because stolen skills are on 9/10 cases total useless. It really need rework and buff because other classes has useful skill and thief useless.

3) rework utility skills like traps to be more useful on combat. Present traps are useless and deal almost no damage. It necessary to make utility skills more usable and more damage dealing.

4) its necessary to rework some traits as was said by Wasdclick.1764.

5) its necessary to make thief use rifles and shipe with them. Warrior can snipe and thief not? It has no sense.

6) and now most important thing is to STOP NERFING THIEF ALL TIME WHEN SOME KIDS QQ HERE ON FORUM!!! You really dont know what these ppl want??? They was defeated by some experienced thief with full exotic gear and now go cry on forum and nerf whole class only because they dont know how play their own class. Why you still nerf only thief? Thief is not op but up on many aspects and need some rework and buff instead of constant nerfing when kids cry here. They only want to make thief useless so they can kill thieves easily and fast.

One of my characters is thief on 80. level and i did hard work to make him full exotic with all maps revealed and now after this hard work is my thief totaly ruined by Anet. I ask why?

You are still nerfing and ruining only thief but what about look on other classes? Look for example on necromants or warriors. Warriors deal MUCH more than thief and its no problem for you? Necromants sap almost all HP from enemy and heal himself to full HP, can summon permanently about 7 monsters to accompany necromant and fight by his side and heal him and necromant has much more HP than paper thief BUT ITS OK FOR YOU ANET, YES?

Yes there are some OP characters but its not thief. They then go to forum, cry here and Anet listen them like puppet and ruin thief. Nice work.

Its the high time to notify that thief is very specific class which need to deal high damage during first 1-3 second before enemy start to react. Thief is very paper class and for enemies is very easy to kill thief. If thief dont deal enough damage during some first seconds thief is dead. Because thief is paper class his only defence is stealth which is easy to break and dont forget that during stealth thief IS vulnerable so I dont really understand these fools here who still cry for nerf of stealth.

little damage + paper HP = useless character with no chance hurt and kill enemy

Thing about it. Thief need high damage to fast kill or thief is dead on 1-2 seconds. If you listen to these crying fools here and nerf damage of thief you will only make thief totaly ruined and useless to play. And if you make thief useless i want some free profession transfer because its not my guilt that I started with good class and you ruined thief during last months.

Yes, its true. This thread has become another QQ topic where ppl who was defeated by thief cry for another nerfes of thief so this kids cannot be defeated by thief anymore. Its not possible to still nerf one class. No one another class is still nerfing like thief is. You are ruining one good class and making it useless on PvE and PvP.

Ppl who has never played thief class has absolutely no right to say that thief is OP and call for nerfes. ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT. These ppl dont know all aspects of thief class, dont know how hard thief is to play good and how weak is thief if your opponent play his/her class good.

Ppl still cry here that thief deal high damage but true is that thief deal good damage only on start of fight – after he use some skills he is out of initiative and can do nothing more and thief is paper class so he die easily. Thief = high damage on begin or die and ppl still cry for nerfes of damage. Thief without damage is only useless paper character and only moving practise target for enemies.

I think that last patch only nerf thief and no buff was added as compensation. You nerfed Dancing daggers and give us nothing as compensation even somebody from Anet said that give us some compensation for nerf.

Second thing is that p/p are very weak if i compare it with other weapons. For example Unload – its weak and cost too much initiative. And other p/p skills are very weak. Yes some add weakness or daze but there should be more damage based – daze duration is very short, weakness is too very short so only one good skill is Unload which is still very weak in compare with other weapons. More damage to unload and rework other p/p skills to be more offensive and not only add some useless weakness and funny daze for 0,0001s. Its useless for fight and please lower initiative cost of Unload. I press it 2x and then im without initiative and can do nothing.

Third thing is that there should be some F2-Fx skill for example F1 – steal, F2 stored skill from stealing, F3 poison…etc. It will be good if poisons are on F2-Fx buttons and not take place on normal skill bar. Why almost all other classes has F1-Fx skills and thief only one? Only one skill and not good at all times. Other classes has better skills and more skills.

Fourth. Other classes has much weapons which can use and thief only 4 which can use. I think that thief should use rifles as well. Rifle fit much better to thief character than sword but cannot use it. Warrior can use it and snipe enemies with super power damage and thief not? Cmon Anet. Rifle for thief is nice idea.

Fifth. Most of skills cost too much initiative so when thief use some skill he is defenceless and can only run or stealth – its not good. More initiative or less skill cost please.

Sixth. Please increase range of pistols and bow. Its very low distance. Other profesions sniper me from opposite corner of map and i almost cannot shot target next to me. Its not fair.

And now last and most important problem. Stop please nerfing thief all time some noobs cry here that thief is OP. Thief is paper-based character which must deal fastly much damage. If thief dont deal enough damage on start he die very fast and easily. And main problem is that you nerf thief all time when some kids cry here that thief is OP so thief is now weaker and weaker with every new patch and almost useless because cannot deal enough damage before enemy mobilize and counterattack thief. We have now here paper character with less and less damage with every new patch. I think its not right way for thief but if you want useless paper character with no damage you can continue.

It was really nice event but there was one mistake that i was lagged all time. 5s delays in skills use, cannot move, repairs cost more than event profit, neverending loading…etc. I was really disappointed with this event.

Arena you know how many players play this game and you still make so lag events. We have now trial players on game and you make one-time event when hundred of players fight on one time? Total nonsense, lags was so huge that many players cannot load to map, other cannot move or use skills. It was really very bad work today from your side!!!!

Haha its nice. Everybody cry, that thief has super mega OP backstab and some seconds of stealth and 20k+ damage from warriors from huge range is ok. Its really interesting. Here you can see what are these crying girls think with and its not brain.

Then we are very close with statistics and I still half damage only Mad King cheated me Ravens are only hawks and I deal only half damage that other. What can do so high differences between your and my “raven” attack??

Even with 29% more critical damage it cannot do so big difference.

I’d have to fraps that, the birds have like 3 different chains of damage they deal.

On chain 1 I see anywhere from 2-4k of damage
On chain 2 I see anywhere from 2-4k of damage and on the swooping attack I see 1-2k of damage.

I’ve tested out my full set, with 3313 attack I’m averaging around 6k total damage from the ravens, if they crit I’ll reach 10k.

Can you tell me how much critical and condition damage you have? I have +- same damage but cannot reach so high numbers.

I have 200 condition damage traited (I’m not a cond thief, I’m a PW thief and I only went that deep to get trickster)

My crit damage % is 154.

Also, on a side note: the ravens activate Signet Of Malice, I went through Arah today on SM and multiple times I had them birdies heal me fully while dishing out respectable damage.

I have 3253 damage, 387 condition damage, 51% critical change and 150% basic + 30% traited + 19% from items of critical damage (total 199%) + all traits for higher damage like executioner etc and still cannot reach your 6k-10k total damage by ravens. I dont know how it work that you reach 4x higher damage. Very strange.

Ok if full damage, precision and critical damage then maybe. I wanted to have my stats balanced so i sacrificed some of this for vitality and toughness.

+1 Totaly agree with you. Pistol are very weak in compare with other weapon combinations. Developers all time care only about nerfing daggers but no about buffing weak pistols.

I can upload here screens of damages from 2249-2446 (one time i did 2687 as i said but no screen now) but 3900 is too high and i doubt that somebody reach this number. I build my gear for damage, precision and condition damage and i have executioner trait (25/30/0/0/15) and cannot reach 3900 but im thief – maybe some warrior or character with pure damage or condition damage build.

I hope that I didnt say it wrongly. This 1.900-2.687 damage is TOTAL damage dealt by birds that are summoned with mad kings runes to 80. level orrian monster on Cursed shore. Its NOT damage per hit or per second, its total damage that birds deal to monster during their whole attack (with some critical hits). Your 50 damage is per hit/per second?

Yes, ravens should be dark and look like ravens and not these doves which are summoned. Repair it please. Arena, i know that its easy to take “Hunter’s Call” skill from ranger and use it on mad kings runes but these birds from “Hunter’s Call” are hawks not ravens so pls rework it and make ravens look like ravens. You give almost 10g for runes and then you use it and all players around thing that it was summoned by some ranger. Make these runes original so everybody know that you have these runes. As was said by warchanter this idea with mad kings animations above character would be great and with real ravens it will be perfect. Everybody will know that you have mad kings runes and not only think that some rangers used “Hunter’s Call”.

I like runes of the mad king. I have tested it 10x on 80 level orrians and with some critical hits I did average damage to single target about 1900-2687 damage.

Haha, nice. Finally someone said it. Im reading for 2 last weeks here QQ topics of crying children how is thief OP, that he kill everybody in second, that he is almost immortal…etc. but if warrior kill thief in 2 seconds its ok. You are not really normal who post these QQ topics that thief is OP. I say it all time that there are op classes but its not thief. First post show the truth.

Now everybody can see that these QQ topics was made by kids who was sometime defeated by thief and now want ruin thief even this class is now ok.

But dont hope that these kids understand it now. Their stunted brains are not built for any logic arguments. They will all time see only that their class is balanced or underpowered and thief is all time only op immortal killing machine which kill all players on map in second. We must hope that developers are experienced proffesionals which know what to do for REAL balance and not listen crying of small kids.

So you think that they can nerf only PvP and Pve let same? I very doubt. Almost all things that happen to PvP skills will affect PvE skill as well. I think that this one nerf of “Heart seeker” daggers skill was done on PvE as well which mean influencing of PvE and not only PvP.

I dont know what class you play but until you are on same situation like me and many other thieves, you cannot understand what we feel. I really would like see your reactions if Arena totally ruins your favorite class on 80. level with 100% explored maps, exotic gear and months of hard work on your character. You will then say same like me and will be very angry when some kids come and say “your class is op, please nerf it” and Arena do it. I really doubt that you say “ok, no problem, nerf my class”. You maybe did same hard work like me and many other ppl on you character and now dont want nerfes that will force you choose another character and do ALL again which mean another months of hard work.

Until you try same situation like us, you have no right judge us and our complaints here!

Sorrow you really dont understand what i mean by this post.

First, me and other thieves are not crying here just reacting on QQ topics which was made by real crying kids. We are just defending ourselves.

Second, all QQ topics here speak about “OP” daggers skills and I never said that I use daggers. I was using daggers maybe on first 20 levels but from this time I use only P/P or shortbow so we can say that im objective thief because upcoming nerf of daggers has no influence on me.

Third, I have never said that im interested on PvP but is not really fair that with every new nerf im weaker and weaker on dungeons for example and PvE mainly. Who will invite to party thief which is now almost unusable on dungeons with glass HP and almost no damage? Now i have problem to find party for dungeon because 70% of ppl say that they are looking for every class except thief and problem will be higher when next nerf come. And its not only my fantasy. I know at least another 10 thieves who have same problem with finding party for dungeons. Nobody want invite to party class with no HP and no damage.

Arena dont see that they ruin thief both on PvP and PvE. Daggers are now only weapons for thief which deal decent damage. Other weapons like sword, pistols and bow are really very weak in compare with daggers and weapons of other classes. When you take decent damage of dagger, thief has no good weapons anymore and become most useless class on game.

Btw Arena was surely testing all classes long time before GW2 release and they should have seen all non-balance elements on all classes and balance it before game was released and not nerf one class now when many ppl have 80. level thieves with 100% explored maps, exotic sets, jumping puzzle…etc. Arena was sleeping during tests before release and now wake up and ruin all class. Its really unfair that Arena is “balancing” classes now 3 months after release of game. They should have done it before release when ppl was choosing class to play and not now after months of hard work. Arena you are not giving some choice to present 80. level thieves and force them to do ALL again which mean personal story again, leveling again, 30-40x dungeon again for exotic, 100% exploration of maps again…etc. Its not fair for us and 3 months work now mean nothing. Do you think its really right way of GW2? If you want ruin thief, give every thief free transfer to another class with all gear that thief now have, with all archievements, level…etc. Thieves have right to change their class if you completely ruin thief because its not our guilt that Arena now must “balance” this class. Its pure filth what Arena do with thieves.

Last one, why everybody is crying only about thief? You show here many screenshots with allegedly “op” thieves but nobody show here how powerful are other classes. Nobody show here for example how OP is mesmer now, how big damage can deal warrior with “hundred blades”. Warriors have much bigger damage than thieves, much more HP than thieves and much more variability of weapons than thief and only thieves akittenget of nerfes and QQ topics.

If you really want balance for thief class then must be balanced all parts of thief which mean buff pistols, buff bow, buff sword and total rework of poisons and traps for thief. Traps should be more powerfull because now almost nobody use it because traps are very weak and useless and same with poisons which should be on F2-Fx buttons. Thief is poison based class so poison should be somewhere else than on skill buttons which can be used for another better skills.

You want balance? So then balance all and not only nerf. You are speaking only only about nerf because you want some weak class to easy kill on PvP but balancing is not only about nerf but there are buffs too. Somewhere nerf and somewhere buff – its balancing.

Dear Arena, isnt easier remove complete thief class than still nerfing this nice class? You can completely remove it because after all these kids-cry-based nerfes thief will be useless with both: less HP and no damage. No more glass cannon class, only glass class.

I really dont understand why you made this game with thief on begin if you are now only ruining this class. Remove thief class! Its visible that Arena dont like this class and nerf thief when some kids cry on forum: “bueeee bueeee, some thief killed me, thief is OP, nerf please”. Dagger was/will be nerfed and bow and pistols are weak so what thief would use as weapon? All our weapons are or will be weak so why you made this class, Arena??? Is really nice that thief has some 2-3 seconds of stealth but what it is good for if we have (after all nerfes) almost no damage with all weapons?

From start of game is thief only target of nerfes, nerfes, nerfes. You could have said on start of game that you want during next 2-3 months make from thief poor wretch with no hp and damage and many ppl could choose another (now) better class. Its really not fair to present 80. level thieves that you make this class useless after their 2-3 months of hard work of leveling, exploring maps, crafting and collecting money for better gear.

I thought that GW2 is better than other multiplayer games and Arena is serious developer but I see that true is other. Arena is only puppet which dance on child-cry rhythm. Really i though that you are better but you are same like other mp games with crying forums.

Then all classes will be able to kill thief but thief will not be able to kill other class. Its problem. They cry for nerf even all classes are now almost balanced.

I was killed by 2 skills by warr and Im not here crying over forum that warrior is OP and call for nerf. Same with Necros. They can use 2-3 skills on me and im almost dead while they are healing themselves by damaging me and no speak about how much HP they have and do you see me crying on forum that want nerf OP necro? No.

Thief really need rework. He need much more damage so he can be really glass cannon with less HP but nice damage and not nerf which will lead to less HP and less damage. Thief without Hp and withou damage is nothing and arena can completely delete this class. In compare with other classes is thief very weak and really need damage buff for pistols, bow and sword + allow him use rifles. We are weak and some kids want us be more weak. Nonsence. Or if you need to nerf our damage then buff our HP pool as compensation. Developers cannot make class with less Hp and less damage. Its useless class.

Nobody want to listen it but true is that thieves need buff of all weapons so they can be equal in combat with other classes. Fact that some kids was defeated by some thief with full exotic gear on WvW doesnt mean that thief is OP and need to be nerf. Its only mean that game is mostly played by immature kids which need to go cry on forum and whimper for nerf of class which defeated them on fight. Its all.

Take for example dungeons. On dungeons you cannot use often daggers because enemies there are so strong that you as thief with small HP pool are dead in 1-2 sec so must use P/P and bow but problem is that these weapons are so weak that you play more supportive role on team. All time I was on dung i was forced to support more and using shadow refuge and revive allies because I was dealing almost no damage to enemies with pistols or bow even I invested all traits to damage and precision and build my gear for power, precison, critical damage and condition damage. Even i did all this (traits + gear) my damage with pistols and bow is ridiculous.

If we recapitulate it. On dungeons are thieves like paper so if they are weak on HP they must be strong on damage but with P/P or bow we have no HP nor damage and its main problem. On all other games like GW2 is for thieves normal that they have less HP but they have decent damage as well and deal some bonus damage if attack surprisingly from stealth but on GW2 is main problem that thief is completely ruined with other weapons than daggers and some ppl still cry for nerf of only effective weapon, dagger. I can agree with really small nerf of dagger but I call for buff of the other weapons mainly P/P which is really useless for most of situations.

Yes nice post. Why thief cannot use Rifle? Mesmers like illusionists can use greatsword, elementarists like mages can use daggers and thief which is stealth class cannot use Rifle? Sniper is something like thief, must be invisible and attack with surprise so Rifle is ideal weapon for thief. And pistols need really buff because now deal really funny weak damage.

Agree with all points that you said. P/P build really need some minor buffs because now its really weak if i compare it with D/D build. Only useful skill is Unload which is weak and everybody can easily dodge it. Black powder shot is very expensive and almost nothing from it.

And now really think about Vital shot. Rangers shoot from short bow with cadence like machine gun and thief with pistols shoot so slow shots? Vital shot really need some speed buff at least same speed like rangers basic attacks with short bow.

Everybody who cry here for balancing daggers must accept balacing of pistols and bow as well. You cannot want only nerfing someting and not buff something else like compensation. You want balance so then balance of all weapons which mean buff pistols and bow which are underpowered in compare with other weapons.

Seriously you are just going to nerf every single thing that gets cried about? A single target burst weapon set does high single target damage ? NO WAY. I’m 2 nerfs away from re rolling guardian. I can solo a guardian maybe 5-10% of the time and my class is getting nerfed again. Compensation? What the hell could you possibly improve on? D/D glass cannon is built for doing high damage, compensating anything other than improving damage is kittended

Its same like halloween game “Mad kind say” but here it is “Cry kid say” and developers do it. Thief is mainly damage class and without damage thief is nothing and can be deleted from game. We have the least amount of HP, we are like paper and they take us damage so what we have then? No much HP, no much defence and now no damage. I think that thief is now only for decoration in game. You should buff pistols and bow instead of nerfing daggers.

Oh my god, the world is coming to an end! The strongest glass cannon in the entire game is being toned down to the power of other glass cannons, but the thief players want buffs instead. Oh, what a cruel world. Having the luxury of being stronger than any other burst build, they now must accept the harsh reality of every other burst build! Protect the frail thieves! Protect them from the world!

Haha, we just want buff something as compensation for nerf of something so its balanced. You think that thief is stronges character? Are you sure that you play same game? Thief is like paper and is dead very fast if you know play your own character and you are no noob but i see that you are. Only ppl who was defeated by thief now cry on forum and call for nerf. You better shut up with you necro. Necro is much more OP than other classes on game.

100% agree. We must speak against this constant nerfing of thief. Thief is becoming only “glass” instead of "glass-cannon. Im becoming angry when i read these QQ topics on forum and developers are only puppets which dance how these QQ kids play and cry here. I 100% guarantee you that after these kids reach their goal and thief is useless they will QQ about other classes like warrior, mesmer, necro…etc until only their class will be OP and other profesions useless. Its only what they want: kill all other without any work and make other classes with no power.

What about make new topic called: “Crying kids time to perma ban”. Its better and more interesting theme on forum. If all crying kids are banned we have here only 50% of players.

And all of those players are thieves!

People who are saying that thieves do not need a nerf are people who always played only thief and have no idea of what is needed to other profession to archieve a kill.
Try every profession out, than come here to say thieves don’t need a nerf in D/D build.

So first i tried all classes on WvW and PvP so i dont only play thief.
Second if thief use D/D build he must be close to enemy and its mean that he will be more damaged than using P/P or shortbow and when thief is glass cannon its mean he will not stay alive too long time with daggers. I never play D/D from start of game and I use only P/P and bow. I was on PvP and have no problem kill another D/D thief with my pistols or bow. Its all only about experiences with your class but no. Instead of learning how to be best with you proffesion you go better cry on forum and hope that developers nerf other classes. Its really proffesional behaviour. Its clear that you are only small kid who was defeated by some thief and now want nerf-revenge.

Totally disagree with nerf on thief. Thief is glass cannon and withou damage is only glass without any damage. You want completely ruin one nice proffesion. Instead of nerf thief just delete thief because more nerfes make this class useless and only moving practise target for other classes.

This super-mega OP thief can have full exotic gear and these ppl who was killed by him can be 2. level with no gear. You are not thinking when you write these QQ topics. This discussion here is meanless. Kid will be still crying that thief is OP even if you give them proof that its not true (and btw if you say on WvW that thief is OP you have no brain because on WvW you have your normal gear). We must hope that developers have brain and their own opinion and do the best decision instead of listening crying fools on forum!!

After this nerf i want developers to tell me instructions how i can get back my money that I invested to buy this game. When I was buying this game i didnt expected that after some time game become child-cry based and developers dance how children play and cry on forum. Omg developers wake up. Test balance of all classes you yourselves and dont listen whimpers of small children who dont know play their class correctly. I play thief from begin of game, Im trying to get best items and now after months of hard work my favorite class is totally ruined because some bunch of fools cannot stand that some thief defeated them on WvW or PvP.

Yes and no-smart players which dont think and dont predict go cry over forum for nerf of thief. Pls developers do a favor for me – after next thief nerf pls delete thief class because after more nerfing thief will be tottaly glass only with no damage and everybody kill him with one hand in nose. After thief is totally ruined these kids will go cry for nerf of other classes. They will say that necro is OP, warr is OP, mesmer is OP…etc. You really dont see what they want. They dont know play their class, some thief killed them on WvW and they now whimper on forum. How you cannot see it?

I thought that game developers are rational thinking ppl who dont do what QQ player cry here. How you can listen crying kids here. They dont want balanced proffesions but only nerf other classes so they can easy kill them. Thief = glass cannon = strong attacks and less HP and defence. Glass cannon must have strong damage because glass cannon without strong attacks = glass only and its exactly what these crying kids here want and developers do what they cry. I thought that developers on this game are more professional that these one from other games but I see that not.
