Thanks Oblivious, i’ll give that a try 2 hours after reset when they throw us out of WvW for another silly PvE update.

Annoyed at Anet, coz their updater has screwed me again. Won’t load the last 3% of the build so having to re-install for the 20th time since Lost Shores. Hope you all had fun without me, not too much fun mind!

This is what i’m trying to find out, i have tried all those solutions mentioned in the thread and it hasn’t made a difference. Still have to re-install the game every time, i’m just wondering why it’s only since the lost shores update and if anyone else has this problem more than once.

Once again after an update i cannot log in as the update wont fully download. This has happened to me every single time you release an update(since the lost shores updates, thats 20+times now). It gets to 1-3% left to finish then just stops and wont download any thing else. Every single time i had to uninstall the game and redownload the whole game. This is not a problem with my PC or internet connection as the only thing it happens to is GW2. Why does this keep happening every single update, it’s really starting to annoy me. I have been warned after last month by my internet provider if i keep downloading content to the same volume i will be charged extra on my monthly bill. This means either i have to just stop playing GW2 after 2 or 3 updates a month or find out why your game wont download the last 3%, as it’s nothing to do with my end(i’ve checked everything it could possibly be) it has to be something to do with your updater system. Can you please look into this as i wont be able to play anymore or will have to pay a shedload extra just to play a game(least theres no sub).

What happened?? i got on this morning and we had 10 people across piken and EB and both Gandalf and AR were fielding 40+ zergs. Least we kept WC, Keep and Aldons but lost Jerri and Klovan to 6 golems, seriously AR why do you need 6 to take a little tower like that?
Hope more of our regulars show up tomorrow or it’ll be a hard night again.

@Tortun, yeah most of the best fights i’ve had are at night when we have so few around and whichever enemy it is of the week starts to think they wanna take my towers and keeps. Pfft no chance or at least not without a long drawn out siege. Will say you guys are actually one of the better night “zergers”, if something doesn’t work a couple of times you guys generally try a different tactic, unlike others(Elona) who’s 40+ man zerg was farmed for 4 hours just doing the same thing over and over again. Fun times less culling problems and more room to stretch your legs round the maps.

Last night the only time we did PvDoor was when Gandara and AR were in the wrong place at the right time. Constant outmanned buffs from around 1am-5am so there was some opposition even if it was hiding in the spawn areas(yes most the stuff we took was defended). Still had some great fights and I have to apologise to AR for killing all their Dolyaks for almost 2 hours, even when they guarded them, but we wanted SM so it was a necessary evil(poor Yaks).
Great work by the Piken night crew again, all 20 of us!!

Oh i’ve had so much fun today, after all the tension on the forums i decided today would be about fun only, no serious capping. So if you wonder at the weird behaviour from us today, tis my fault(it wont really affect our rating so fun for all). Hope we can all relax tonight and prepare for take 2 of our matchup!

I got ordered to get my commander tag by my server as i’d been leading people for months without it and everyone kept complaining about it. So i asked a few of them and a few other commanders if i should, they all agreed my efforts made me more worthy of having it than alot of our credit card kids. So i bought it and now am a member of the “shiney blue badge of idiocy” club(it’s trademarked so don’t you dare steal my line!). If you show you can lead without it, then having it will help you more(at times).

@Tortun, yup pretty sure that was me i dodged off the roof the wrong way and ended up near the door got whacked by the npc’s in there and ran up the stairs at the back dropped the portal right at the corner to front. My big mistake there was i called portal too late for some to notice and used local instead of team(i can play this game, honest!). Sorry if it caused you to think we use glitches, but as a server(and guilds) we come down hard on anyone using a glitch or hack.
I once accidently glitched/got knocked through the Bay walls(weeks ago) when we were ramming it, so rather than cheat and portal people in i stayed where i was until the doors came down(and yes if it had failed i would have either fallen on my sword or tried to run out). I would have run back out tbh but there was a crapload of angry germans around and i didn’t want another repair job.
I can understand you being sceptical of things when you see them, but after you’ve seen what we have with the glitching/hacking from our last matchup you’d never want to face those servers again(it’s just so kitten stupid to cheat especially when your zerg has 40+ and the defenders number 4).

That was me and i didn’t jump through the door i was hiding on the supply station roof, you were all up by the lords room so i took the chance of portalling people in(which failed badly). For 1 i will not ever use hacks or cheats in any game(whats the point of playing a game if you cheat) and 2nd ask anyone on the server or my guild, i cannot jump to save my life. It took me 4 hours to complete the pirates cave jumping puzzle in LA, i have only done about 5 jumping puzzles and most of them took over an hour coz i really am crap at timing a jump and judging the distance. I’ve seen the video’s of that guy doing the glitchs by jumping and i’m amazed how people can do it, 1 coz it’s cheating 2 coz it’s so kitten difficult to jump in this game.

So no you didn’t see someone jump through the door, although there were 10-15 of my guys around that area, as you didn’t check for hidden mes and i had to wait in there for 20mins coz they all went for Klovan 1st(git’s leaving me behind).

The time it was capped we used a treb from our keep coz i was annoyed at the fact you were defending and we didn’t have enough people so went for the long siege instead of rams/cats.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but make sure you have accurate info before accusing a member of GG again, screenies would help but i know it’s not always possible. Lucky it was me that was inside or you’d have started a witch hunt on GG for a glitcher.

At no point am i crying or whining or being hypocritical, just stating facts, as i said it’s all valid(except glitching and hacking). You took advantage of our low numbers on xmas eve = valid tactic. Us making up for having 2/3rds of our players missing = valid tactic. You might not respect some of you commanders on you server but i do, and until they do something that is against anets rules i will support them.

There was an agreement between 3 commanders on each server that while they were on they wouldn’t attack each other. Now while the majority of Piken might have disagreed with this, we respect each other on the server so wouldn’t do anything to dishonour another commanders word. Yes one of our worst commanders then took it on himself with randoms(coz even his own guild wouldn’t betray the rest of Piken) to attack AR and end our gentlemans agreement. It doesn’t matter in the end, it was a valid tactic to join forces for a while as both us and AR are down on numbers by 2/3rds whereas Gandara PvDoored their way into top spot when we had virtually no-one on. All this agreement was doing was to balance out the score again to what it was before ungentlemanly(although a valid tactic) night cap when we were all celebrating Xmas. What a lot of you seem to forget, although we are friendly most the time, this is war and you have to expect everything that comes with that. There is nothing wrong in temporarily allying with another server to help your lack of numbers achieve the equilibrium that was there before. There were still plenty of fights and capping by AR whilst we were “allied” but we chose to stick together as a server and honour our commanders wishes.

Sorry but i love facing overwhelming odds. I’ve lost count of the number of times my 5-10 defenders farm 40+ zergs for hours on end when they try to siege our keeps and towers. 5 people can hold a keep/tower against 40 people for over 4 hours(providing they don’t start getting too smart), we’ve done it several times against the bigger servers due to their zerg mentality and lack of intelligent tactics.

It’s actually nice to not be double teamed for once in the last 5-6 weeks, we’ve had it so long it does wear you out. As has been mentioned these couple of weeks of Xmas nobody in any tier on any server will have a true victory due to numbers being so screwed and all over the place. I would dearly love to face you Gandarans again soon when we get back to our full strength, then we’ll show you you how we roll in the Square. So far you’ve shown a lot of promise with the “few” you have online.

Hehe, nice try for SM last night. Us 8 held your 25+ off for 3+ hours, got a little scary at times when you were all piled in the outer courtyard and someone on my side kept using all the supply to do repairs and build useless mortars. Was a very close call but i’m glad we got some of our usual folks back on the nights, now it’ll be more of a challenge for ya to night cap everything(least i hope so).

Most of today we’ve still had the outmanned buff on, so yup you beating us on that front again. But today we’re working together better. We’re not saying your victory is hollow at all, it’s just we’ve always been the underdog. If you choose to hit us hardest when we have the fewest players on, then that’s a smart thing to do. But as you can see from today capping stuff when we have so few to defend upsets us and we need to take our revenge later when we have more on.

To be fair it’s not a hollow victory considering up until yesterday our night service paled in comparison to the other servers in this match up so taking advantage of one day over every night? That ain’t really a fair statement :P

Just have to say i doubt this very much, Piken has always had a small night crew right back from when we were a tier 9 server. We always have the outmanned buff on everytime we step anywhere at night. The reason it appears we have more is because we work together so much better at night and can move around with more ease. Take Elona last week we had 5 of us hold off 40-50 man zerg at OL keep for around 4hours, now sure Elona aren’t smart they just use numbers to take stuff so that wasn’t difficult.

I’ve had this happen and it’s impossible to log with you standing there as you remain in combat so can’t waypoint. The only solution is to log out to switch char unfortunately this now leaves you with damaged armour as per the alt+f4 fix(not sure it was intended to work like this). If it happens again just back off far enough to let his aggro drop so he can WP(but keep and eye to make sure he’s not dodgy(goes for anyone you find stuck in walls)).

Yeah, i know the few don’t represent the many. I will add though from what i saw those people that were screened aren’t one of major guilds. From the looks of things they have only joined the server in the last week or two, but don’t worry we will find them and try our best to stamp it out. No need for cheating ever.

@suprNovae, any chance you have a better screenie of that guy’s guild tag or know it. If so can you send me a PM of the details so we can pass it onto the relevant guild leader to deal with. We don’t stand for any hacking or cheating on our server and try to stop it as soon as we become aware someone has done something like this. The reason i ask for a pm is due to not wanting to cast damaging reports on a guild that is probably unaware of what one of their members did.

As the title says it’s stuck on the checking for updates screen(3kb) and has been for the last 20mins. Have tried restarting it twice and even running the repair command, doesn’t do anything.

Yeah the Kodash stupidly tried to follow you in once, but they were trebbing, ramming and catting the front gate for almost as long as you were trying the back. A tip if something doesn’t work the 1st few times you should rethink your strategy, you only got lucky we ran out of supply and you last golem you brought was the ranged version so we had problems killing it. But such is life, you win some you lose some, but as long as ya take loads with ya it’s all good(100+ loot bags for most of us from that siege).

So what happened last night, did we wear you both out? For 3 hours 6 of us were defending OL keep from 25 Elona and 15 Kodash each at different gates. Yet as soon as Elona capped it you all went to bed it seems, not 1 fight over any of your towers or Keeps since you both decided to pick on our last bastion of hope. It’s now been 5 hours and only 2 supply camps have changed hands of yours and we’ve been taking back some of our borderland from Kodash. So you guys had a truce going last night or did we just wear you down.

Hey i must say sorry for ninjaing SM early this morning, there were 5 of us on in total RS had about 8 and AR had 6. We weren’t aware of the fact alot of people couldn’t get back online after logging off. So we just noticed you didn’t really challenge us when we took other things. The guys you did have on didn’t even notice as they were doing something similar to AR. After SM we then took Duri and Brav, with AR actually trying to stop us. Don’t know what had happened to the RS guys but we did lose our supply camps a couple of times. Taking AR Keep proved a step too far as it took so long myself and another had to log out, so only 3 were left. Again sorry for taking SM at such a time(tbh if i had of known the problems we would have taken everything earlier rather than build siege in our towers and chat), but then everything is fair in war and your guys could have stopped us but didn’t notice.

lol cool tale, i’ve sat hidden inside SM and the EB keep before for 2hours plus waiting for people to get their stuff together for a portal in to lord room. The best one was Sm where i hid for 2hours 45mins, we were ready to recap it but got beaten to it by the greens flipping it from blue. So i stayed hidden and hoped….yes we then were ready again and were just beaten to the punch by blue retaking. So i sat there still and none found me for the 3rd flip back to green. This time we were ready and on the 5min mark after the cap i dropped down to the inner wall dropped my portal and legged it past some startled greens to the outer for my team to portal in. Capped for us and they only got 4 into lord room by the time we had it. Mes is so much fun to play when it goes right. And shame on the blues and greens for not sweeping properly for me. It might be an annoyance to some but it can alter a battle and change the tactics people employ, i’d rather have it in than just be forced to beat against a wall or door for ages. Plus if you know your stuff most of what a mes can do with a portal is easily counterable.

Yeah but we’ve been in 3rd place for several hours now and it still hasn’t changed. Tbh if RS keep this up we might still have a shot at 1st seeing as they not that far ahead, if only we can keep our stuff through the night.

Nice to see AR constantly going around mopping up after RS, they wont take a keep on unless it’s just been taken over by RS. Do you fear us or is it RS are allowing you to do this to help you make up points coz they sure as hell aren’t defending them. Also the fact that RS never touched AR borderland in over 10hours yet saw fit to take most of EB and their half of PS border, and not once did they try to take anything owned by AR except in EB. I know it’s a 3 way battle but this is so blatantly you 2 trying to push us down. 4 hours it took you to take our Keep in EB with only 8 of us defending against your 30(how many golems, trebs, rams, cats, bali’s did we destroy? enough to have stocked our border fully)

So i tried logging in 1 hour ago but all i get is the checking for updates screen to load the game and nothing else. Tried repairing and reloading several times but still it just stays on the checking for updates screen. Anyone had this happen before and know how to solve it without having to re-download the whole game again?

GW2 just updated and i was logged out to update, it was fine until it reached the last file and it just stopped midway. After 10mins of this hanging i restarted the download and it wouldn’t even start just says 0% downloading files remaining 1. So i tried again but this time i used the repair thingy on my shortcut and guess what…. yup stopped at files remaining 1.

So how do i fix this without deleting the whole GW2 and red-ownloading it?

Well i saw the cutscene and formed a party for the dungeon fine, tried to enter it and got booted from the game with some random error code. Now i cannot even play the game as all my characters reside in Lions Arch and it will not load, it gets stuck on the loading screen till it errors out after 10mins. Anyone else having problems loading LA at all?
