I’d swap places with Kodfish if i could, Viz are a much better server to fight than SFR, ER or Deso. Plus i want to play with TUP & HoB!!!

Theres like half a dozen people with this since Sacrx got the 1st a few months ago and i know 2 people on NA that had it 3-4weeks after Sacrx did. Theres no point bragging about coming in 2nd let alone 6th(I know of 5 other players with it, so i’m guessing theres probably a lot more who just aren’t that fame hungry to need to shout about it). Gratz anyways on it.

For the completionist in me BT(but it wouldn’t be fun for them or us). For fun fights, AG, Gandalf, AR, BB maybe even ER if you guys keep progressing as a less blob orientated server.

I’ll give you some numbers from my server(bear in mind it’s a Guild based server). We have around 40-50 dedicated WvW players that aren’t in a GvG guild the rest are casual players, we have 15+ GvG orientated guilds on our server most running around 20-25 people. So that makes around 10-15% of my servers playerbase dedicated WvW players that aren’t interested in GvG(for the sake of argument, i could poll them but most would be in favour of GvG’s happening just not in playing in them). So of the dedicated WvW population 3/4’s want to do or currently do GvG’s, thats not a minority and i think you’ll find a lot of other servers have at least half of their dedicated WvW playerbase interested in GvG’s.
The thing is a lot will not come on here because they don’t see the point of trying to make you see reason all they’re interested in is having fun with their guild mates within WvW, be it GvG, open field fighting or keep taking.

@Silentflute, when you quote percentage numbers you are actually including all the casual WvW players in that total i think. The people that GvG or are interested in it greatly outnumber the dedicated WvW players that don’t do it. Casual WvW players don’t care wabout the ppt or winning as much as you seem to think they do.
I wonder why you seem to have this vendetta against people who like to GvG, is it because you got rejected from a GvG guild because you weren’t good enough or is it just because you can’t stand to see others have fun if you aren’t involved?

I think what Silentflute is trying to say is that his server sucks badly without the guild. When they GvG they lose lots of points but when the guild is doing other stuff they’re winning. My server has a minimum of 1 or 2 GvG’s going every night of the week in primetime, yet also we manage to hold the highest ppt in primetime while these GvG’s are going on. So i think Silentflute it’s more a case of stop relying on the guilds to earn all your points and actually get your server to play better.

The issue with NA guilds moving to EU isn’t the latency or lag, it’s the time change. I wouldn’t wanna stay up to 2am on a weeknight to fight a guild (if I was EU) and I wouldn’t want to have to take off work to fight a guild at 3pm (since I’m NA). Simple as that.

The time differnce is what 5-7 hours, so for an arranged GvG wouldn’t be much of a problem(6pm for you would be 11pm for majority of EU guilds). EU guild members would be willing to stay up a little later for a good GvG. Plus theres always the weekends.

If your server is good enough GvG’s wont effect your PPT, here on Piken we have queues for all borders during primetime. Yet we still have 1-2 GvG’s going most nights of the week(not so much weekends), we also are always the server with the highest PPT during primetime(lol we don’t even really care about points but thats another story). The only reason a GvG would really effect your server is because the guild doing GvG are the ones that do the most dmg for your server and everyone else is just riding that guilds coattails.
With regards to the latency issue, we have 100’s of NA(timezone) based players in the EU yet none of them have problems with it. It’s a myth that has been spread around, in other games(not many nowadays) and years ago yes it was a problem but within GW it isn’t(just look at RG(for example) did they suffer latency issues when they visited the NA servers, no they still won their GvG’s without problems).

Strange but usually one of my last things i do when commanding for the night is take on some silly challenge or task with little chance of success. I guess it’s down to you as a person, if people have fun with you then they’re more likely ignore the (stupid)wipes(coz it happens to everyone, like running smack into a blob while having the map open).
You don’t need to have that defesive a char if those around you can help, a commander will get a lot of the focus when engaging the enemy because if the leader is dead most groups fall apart(wise strategy). Although if you can still command from being dead/across the map that is what sets you apart from average commanders.
The biggest tip i can give i think is to always remain polite, say please and ty when asking people to do things(guild raids are different). Friendlies are just that, they play for the fun they don’t want/need to be shouted at.

It’s when you kill that Grub thing, or the big treebeard thing near Speldan.

Why? If they make it to the 2nd then only because you attack us, before you attack them. Shurely not, because they stand a match vs Elona without help. The only reason I would see to finish in front of Piken is, to help RS to go ahead of them. But 1st RS do not need that help, and 2nd german servers are more rivals than allies

The match ER\SFR\RS was one of the worst Ihave seen SFr was double teamd, at the time I have asked to RS guys to tell me if they got any tower from ER, in EB during the hole muach, no reply until today.

The whole week was the same ER attaking Anza and RS attacking Ogres, ER lost the match but seems to be very happy because they can fight SFR, you can if you have other server helping you like RS did.

SFR prefer to attack ER because you are the number #3 server so you musto be more stronger then PS. But PS allways prefer to attack SFR, wen we attcack ER we allways had to be careful with our back, because we know PS will attack us.

Please learn that the points are generated in all 4 maps, dont abandone one map to go bash another server in is BL. You took our garrisson in our BL, we took your keep in EB.

PS: This EB point of view, play very litle in BL’s.

Thats pretty much what always happens when any German Server fights vs 2 INT Servers, except Desolation – they somehow didnt Team up with the other INT Server but it was a real 1v1v1.

You’ll find Piken generally focuses on the strongest server, they’re usually the ones to give the better fights(not counting the blob tactic here). As we aren’t so point obsessed as every other server in the top 10 we don’t really care about what other servers are doing or how we can max our potential rating(or whatever it is). We just wanna have our fun fights, screw the score if we’ve had some fun in the week does it really matter if we’re 1st or 3rd, to us it doesn’t.
Still don’t get why you still have an obsession with invading Pikens matchup thread each week, we haven’t faced RS in ages. Always you are trying to make out that Int servers are the evil nasty servers that cheat/hack/doubleteam/cry/rage whenever you post something. Just let it go dude, live in peace and enjoy the game.

Are the badges in the inventory of one of your characters? If so, the BoH will not be added into the Currency Wallet until you log in to those characters.

Well seeing as i said in my post i checked all my characters i’m guessing that means i checked them all. The BoH i had stored just in my bank was far more than was in the wallet when i opened it on my 1st character. So yes i’m sure they are missing.

*Several guild members are also reporting they seem to be missing some stacks.

The strange thing was it seemed to add BoH from each char i logged on but only the unfinished stacks. The stacks of 250 just vanished.

I had 10 stacks of BoH in my bank and another 10 stacks spread across 4 characters. That totals 5000+ badges(had spares laying around on several chars).

Now i’ve checked every character and all their badges have disappeared, yet in my new wallet it says i only have 1903 BoH. Where the hell did all the others go??

Coming from BB thats just…. LOL.
No doubt SFR will win, it doesn’t matter though as long as we have some good fights this week, Piken will be happy.

I dunno i kinda like him. He is right we did get a lot of solo people from SFR but the majority of them either stopped playing or followed the other SFR guilds to other servers like RoS. I know we might complain a bit about it all sometimes but when you face being outmanned 90% of the time it does kind of wear thin.

Sunday morning is not a typical morning, we get a much higher turn out than saturday mornings. We’d also be lucky to have half your quoted number mon-fri. But thats just the difference in our servers. I got some SFR on my mates list so i know how many you have too. I’m not arguing with you i’m just saying, people kind of forget what other servers are like due to them not being on them or getting 3rd hand info.

got many friends in piken and they see a lot ppls running solo if you get a good pug commander in the morning and not one that rage quit after first battle sure you can gather many.

Wemil matey i have played nightshift and morning shift since the game began, i am usually leading the friendlies around at that time(unless another commander wants to do it). We have very few commanders who rage quit, i haven’t a clue what your server is like internally if you get so many rage quit. Ours generally stay badged til another commander is willing/able to take over. We also have a smaller population of friendlies to bring into WvW, it’s ok for you being a high pop(i know you were medium too, but haven’t been for a long while) server but with us being medium and also a RP server it means less PvP centric people and less people willing to try it out.

Most the time yeah, weekends we can manage maybe 25 on a good night. It’s the main reason Piken never really rose any higher in the rankings. The 1st time we faced Elona we had 6 players hold our keep for 4 hours agaisnt 60-70 of them. We’ve picked up a few more since also lost some too. Remember Piken is a server that rose from the bottom of the rankings to T2(old) without mass recruiting, we relied on the guilds we had and had a few more join but never got a night guild or major increase in the night population.

The only servers that wouldn’t be able to nightcap Piken is Vabbi, WSR and FoW. Every other server we’ve faced has us outmanned at night.

As i said i’m not pushing for them, i was just curious as to the reasons why Anet seem to have given up on that idea.

Do you mind finding a link for that, as i said i don’t remember it being mentioned but then i might have missed it. Did they actually give any reasoning behind why they wont be introducing 2 week matchups?

I’m not expecting any changes just wondered about it, they seem to have forgotten all about it. GW2 is coming up for it’s 1st b’day and i was curious to know if it’s something they still plan on.
If it happens it happens, but just remember your bromance with viz is far from over. 2 weeks with them at a time, yeah i can see downsides to it but wonder if it might get the guilds/people to spread out more.

I’ll tell ya what, you point out the rage and stupid excuses in that post and i’ll let you win a 1v1 against me for fun. I know i shouldn’t play with the trolls here but sometimes i can’t help myself, especially when they are so clueless and desperate for recognition.

I’m soooooo tempted to answer, but i did say i was ending it in my last post.

I remember Anet stating that WvW would be fought over a 2 week period. However the last time i remember reading anything about it was when they moved us from 3 day matches to week long matchups. They said that once the tiers stabilise they would bring in the 2 week long matchups.
I’m not qqing or anything just wondering whether it’s still Anets plan to have 2 week matchups or whether it’s going to stay at week long ones now.

A comment about it from an Anet guy would be nice(good or bad, i’m just curious). Now you good folks can all discuss the merits of extending matchups to 2 weeks and how bad it would make things.

Points accumulate due to us needing to fight you. When all you do is hide in your keeps and towers unless you have the blob with you. We have to get in for our fights, then we cap them so it gets you all angry. You then try to take it back giving us more fights. I don’t understand how you can’t work that out, it’s not rocket science, it’s the fact we have to play a certain way when the enemy is too scared of an even fight. We’re not the server so desperate for points we feel the need to PvDoor all night just so we can say “Ooh we’re so much better than you, we won the matchup. Didn’t win a single honest fight, but who cares i have a bigger kitten now!”
No i’m not mad or a bad loser, i’ve just found fighting Desperation and Blobaddons is probably even more boring than fighting RS. I really do hope you guys work it out one day, fights are fun ppt are boring. When you do you’ll feel liberated and your server will have a much better attitude towards others. AG please save us from this nightmare, we want/need good fights so badly.

As for piken,if you don’t look after your pugs, you’ll have a smaller base to recruit from in the future. Losing every week will cause an erosion of players, from your server. Maybe if you just like to fight, you should try spvp?

You’re funny! Thats what you folks don’t really understand about us, we don’t care about winning or losing it’s the fun to be had during the week that matters most. Plus we don’t have any pugs on Piken, we only have friendlies so we don’t have a problem there.

Glad you appreciated it Jue. We were having fun playing pirates on the boat in Bay but after getting wiped(60+AM vs 12[GG]), we needed to do something to amuse ourselves. With a lot of people telling us that FG were doing corpse jumping when they kill a solo with your group we thought you were the best targets. It was awesome for us and a shame you didn’t accept our invite to join the guild. WvW is about the fun, hope your guys don’t lose that now you back on Deso.

I’m a member of several of these server forums as i have friends on a lot of different servers, all the ones i am part of have sealed sections where all their secret plans for world domination take place so you can’t really spy. But it does allow you to have a chat with the other servers you face in a less “trolly” atmosphere, you can set up impromtu GvG’s, 1v1 dueling guilds and such things. So it is very handy to have these all in one place for others rather than having to search for them or ask.
All i would say is don’t be a kitten if you join up, tell them the server you belong to and you’re only there to chat.

We only have 2 guilds on Piken that field more than 25 players, the majority field 15-20. The only reason you are beating us is due to your nightcap but for us it doesn’t really matter who wins a matchup as long as we have some good fun fights. Desperation and Blobaddon are not really providing many great fights unfortunately, thats why we’re not really keen on this matchup. Servers really need to learn it’s more about the fun fights than winning the ppt race, after all what do you get for winning apart from bigger kittens!

Should get one of the Anet mods to sticky it maybe.

That issue was cleared up an tbh you should always protect yourself on the internet.

Handy for people looking for a new server, they can check out the guilds on each server and what their communities are like. Cheers for collecting all them together in one place.

What Piken lacks is the night presence, most of the day our guilds are generally making our ppt the top(not that we reallu care much about ppt). When night comes though we have no real cover, just 15(total) of us against server that can put 60+ in more than 1 border. If we had more tools it would help us more, but still it’s just the coverage isssue thats blocking us(Piken) from seeing if guild servers win over blob servers(not talking inividual fights but a weeks worth).

Dranul matey, most people on Piken can’t wait to have a good smush with TUP, it’ll be refreshing to face a server that doesn’t blob because it can’t handle even fights.

Well you’re reading comprehension is bad, Piken hasn’t ticked 0 yet, nice try. Have a look at the score again 1 tower and 3 camps = 25 points. Tbh most of us don’t care about this matchup, we’ve fought you and seen all you have to offer and it’s just the same as every other server like Viz/Elona/BB no skill just numbers.

Just 2 servers left for the full set, so Viz and Blacktide please(not gonna happen but i can hope).

If you mean yesterday during the day, you had plenty of people on they were just in the wrong place. We were outmanned in EB capping your stuff while you lost the keeps in your own border, try communicating better(we all suffer from bad communication sometimes).

If being stuck on a tower trying to take it for 2 hours is steamrolling i’d like to know what slow play for you is. Hell you could have capped the whole of Kodash’s 3rd in EB quicker than it took to take 1 tower.

Yeah well when 15 people have to try and beat 80+ it is a bit difficult to win. We held you far longer than you manage when having equal forces on the map. Shame but while reading the forums just now you killed me inside SM, i had been hiding there for the past 2+ hours great to see you guys know tactics and how the game works and don’t just use numbers(oh wait, thats just what you do).

I have played nights on Piken since the start and can say in my opinion we have one of the better night crews going. We are always outmanned but we make sure we use tactics to overcome the odds. Usually the servers we face will outnumber us 4v1, depending on the server it can be much more(for example this week we average around 15 whereas Deso average around 80). The Piken night crew has learnt how to slow the zergs progress and even do some major ninja capping, by superior communication and scouting.

Shush! it’s the only way we’ll beat them in a fight is if they think theres a paradise to go to and not play WvW.

Fine by me i’ll be roaming EB on my guard then, looking for some Buka to have fun with. Just for info i can count unlike the majority of people(i agree with you on this), it’s easy to see how many people are with you. Also the fight happened by the branches that go into the water near our keeps main enterance(the little gap between the 2 cliffs) closer to Klovan than keep, no npcs or turret near. Also maybe scared them off was a poor choice of words but thats exactly how it looked.

So Buka are better than everyone and never run from a fight(maybe they were repositioning themselves behind the biggest hill they could find). My gaurd is hard to beat in a fight, the longer the fight lasts the more chance i have of winning. Just because you think you’re the best doesn’t mean i do(fight my mes and you’ll win easily).

Stop editing! yeah granted they were coming in with everything fresh but thats how it goes they picked on 1 thinking easy kill, the 3 i was fighting shouln’t have turned and ran it made them easier to kill than if they’d have stood and fought.

It was just us 4 then 6(both sides). It’s not bragging it’s stating facts, if i was bragging i would have said i could easily have taken all 3(i’m in no way a solo roamer, plus the fact i was playing on my guard which is setup for healing not bunker or dmg so i can outheal pretty much most dmg). I was paying you a compliment, learn to not be so prickly.

Edit: This happened in EB, i was running between our supply camps to upgrade them. The rest of my server in EB was inside SM at the time fighting deso.

I ran into a Buka ele, thief and guard the other day, wasn’t a bad scrap they were probably going to win after 5mins of fighting. But then 2 of my randoms showed up so having a 3v3 scared them off, they died running away. Was still a good scrap not often i get to show my skills against 3 skilled opponents.
