You need to look at the big picture to see what I’m rambling about.

Everything needs a helmet, everyone needs to watch what they say. This wasn’t case 25 years ago. There was no such thing as political correctness. Go speak to an older man, they speak what is on there mind. Was it the right way? Not sure but society as a hole has changed, is it for the better? I don’t think so. This way of doing things promotes learned helplessness.

Take a look at Everquest there was no such thing as locked encounters, it was free. Now everything is based of anti griefing, these safety features where created because a select few had to ruin it for others.

Call me bitter but that is how I see the world, everyone gets a medal for participating.

Take a look at schools and the way they test, everything is open book. I don’t remember that back in my day, you had to have stored in your brain or you failed. Now you get a second, third retry. They don’t fail kids in grade school anymore, even if the parents are asking for it. It is parents putting there own fears onto there children, adults need to remember your child needs to experience things in order to deal with them, if you keep them sheltered from everything bad, they will never be able to deal when something really bad happens. We are seeing that today with depression rates in teens increasing in the last 15 years.
The school boards no longer listen to the teachers, they listen to the parents; the boards are always in fear of being sued.

What I’m saying in short is everything is made easier so no one has to deal with negative emotions, because a select few can’t handle the stress.

So back to the OP and the other reasons players had stated, it’s so people that can’t handle the stress of PVP can also enjoy it.

That to me sounds like the bar being lowered.

Cost $60 to fill up the gas tank, that lasts a week!
I could play this game for along time due to no subscription.

After all the MMO failures in the last 7 years GW2 has a lot going for it.

Everquest raids we use to send in our Ranger to go die on purpose, before the pull.

Seems times haven’t changed.

It only takes one or two hackers to ruin a game. For me to pigeon hole an entire server based on a select few would be closed minded.

I would pay a sub fee for the extra support Anet would need to hire more GM’s!

Cheaters are Woosers!

I could never understood the need to hack or cheat, what does it prove? That you suck and you have to cheat to feel good?

I guess if the game posses no challenge to them anymore we should be watching Utube for the rage quit soon?

Or are these people so miserable in there lives grieving makes the little psychopath feel good.

That is a shame if DH players are using speed hacks. It explains why DH owns the entire map.
I can’t wait till the server resets and we can have a battle like we did this past Friday Friday.

To all hackers and cheaters Grow a set and play like a hero not a coward. WE DON’T THINK YOUR COOL, we are laughing at you, not with you.

The time I spent in EQ will always carry a found memory, I will also remember all the hardships that came along with playing a very addictive game.

Lets face it EQ was new, not many people had this kind of media available to them, it was all pen and paper role playing.
So when I heard it was a online world, and other players from around the world would be right next to me, I could not believe it.

My relationship with my girlfriend suffered, all I wanted to do is play EQ. I would not go with her on weekend trips, I would call in sick, all I wanted to do was get online, port players around for donations, group up, level up. Once at level cap started a 5 night a week raid schedule.

This went on for 8 years, during that time I got married, got a house, and settled down, after having kids I could not commit the time needed to raid, so EQ had to go.

Then came Sigils Vanguard SoH. What a game, it had the feel of EQ but was very casual friendly, I felt like a non smoker cheating, it gave me my online fix, so I was able to manage a family, work and still get online after bed time.

In slides GW2 this is the ultimate game for both hardcore, and casual. I’m still enjoying this game and plan to play it. I can run around with others if I wish.

I’m glad to say I played EQ, It was an experience that may never be duplicated. You had to be there and I’m glad I was.

Love the game. I have been burnt by so many MMO releases since 2005, that GW2 has taking that bitterness away.

12 years of MMO gaming and still I hear the same complaints.

Insanity=doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Well I didn’t kill them, But I was running from some Scrit and after he gave up the chase, he said to me"haha you ran from Scrit"

That alone makes GW2 game of the year.
