For my Mesmer and Guardian I have little choice but to take it because I only like two of their normal trait lines in the new system. I will likely have to take Engineer’s as well due to the fact I don’t like their new traits so far. Elementalist I may if I actually like the weapon as I currently don’t like a single weapon they use. The other four classes are a wait and see thing.

Compounding Celerity Redundant Now?

SaulWolfden.6178

IMO pointless to keep this with the Chronomancer trait that makes Mesmers move faster, already was a mostly useless to begin with. For people who don’t know what I’m talking about, Compounding Celerity makes you move faster for each active illusion the Mesmer has up or in other words only moving faster in combat and is for only running forward.

Two Elixir Grandmaster Traits...

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

HGH by itself is something of a game-breaker and one of few existing Grandmasters that feels like a Grandmaster. 409 makes Elixir Engineers immune to conditions. You don’t think being able to take one trait in one line that gives you faster Elixirs which also give you all the Might in creation and makes you immune to conditions might be overdoing it a touch?

No more than reducing recharge on longbow skills, arrows piercing, and velocity increases. I’d rather see the might gone and replaced with removing conditions on grandmaster alchemy instead tbh if one would be completely lost. Hard choices? Not really for Engineer, tools has absolutely nothing else I’d use in it, 1 trait that I’d use isn’t worth 2 traits I wouldn’t have any use for due to the all or nothing mentality of the new system.

Two Elixir Grandmaster Traits...

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

SaulWolfden.6178

I sincerely really hope they just combine HGH + Fast Acting Elixirs and Cleansing Formula 409 into one under Alchemy on final release… it really has no place existing alone on Tools where the rest of the line has absolutely nothing related to that sort of thing. Lead the Wind on Ranger has 3 things, so why not the Grandmaster Elixir trait under Alchemy?

Sorry if late on this, but using the calculator that_shaman made me notice this when I realized I no longer cared about one of the trait lines I currently use on my Engineer.

Sylvari & Human Female Shared Sounds Fixed?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: SaulWolfden.6178

SaulWolfden.6178

I’m going to guess that the original sound samples for the Sylvari Female were lost which is why they share some of the same sounds. I had noticed the death to fire sounds are different though, so that’s what lead me to believe this. Anyone else think they might fix this finally since they got the character VAs back for Heart of Thorns?

To someone like me who really loves making hybrid builds, the stats being removed from traits is really worrying to me. I get most of my power on my Soldier’s builds on my Warrior or Guardian from my traits and only my weapons and like two trinkets. This sounds to me like I’m going to be completely useless now instead of contributing to my team (god forbid I want to not die in like 3 hits while still being able to do some damage) and also that this will just make the zerker meta even worse than it already is. More stats to equipment? Sounds like a very nice bonus for people who run zerker builds. They really need to have some other way to get these old bonuses rather than give it as a base and to equipment.

Harpy Fractal Electrical Floor Bugged

I’ve had no problems with this Fractal, perhaps it was just bad luck?

Were you using dodges and blinks etc?
What race you are (2 Humans 1 Sylvari) won’t chance hit boxes and gameplay.

I’ve never had an issue until today, Human and Sylvari are the races closest to what a player hit box actually is.

The electrical floor is where you go up the steps and three people have to make it up to disable it to answer the second poster’s question. The rangers I understood getting screwed over (because of their pets), but when I see people get hit by literally nothing, that’s when it’s a problem. The sudden instance with everyone getting shocked and downed despite everyone being away from the shock zones is not normal.

The hitbox of the electrical floors was completely unreasonable, this happened getting this fractal as the second one and prevented us from getting any furhter. We had two humans and 1 Sylvari who were of about the size of the hitbox of player characters who were struck by the ‘death zones’ when the floor was nowhere even near us, I’m talking 3+ feet. At the bottom, all of us were suddenly shocked and went down despite being away from as far as the electrical floor goes down.

Want to get even more mad?
Traps and Winter’s Bite (Axe #3) cast time went from 1/2 sec to 1 sec.

Oh it gets even worse!

Several of my skills now don’t work at all Hit and miss – some working, others not.

They are not listening – not at all.

Pets need to be fixed or we all need to post youtubes showing how we are being destroyed by a mechanic that doesn’t even have a keybind ability. Now that’s insane.

I had to post a video about the death sound bug for it to get fixed because apparently I was the only one who noticed it. Male Humans, Norn, Asura, and Sylvari were missing death sounds. I’m particular about sounds so that sort of thing just was driving me crazy. I’m also particular about visuals, hence why the minimap having a noticeable gap between the experience bar (introduced in march 16th patch along with the horrific passive pet bug) also drives me crazy.

The Minimap since the March 16th patch has been about an inch above the experience bar. It looks incredibly awkward and I can’t not see it, even in videos of Guild Wars 2 after the patch. The image I’m uploading also shows the Great Gummy Wurm as it was taken before that was fixed.

Who would you be?

Of my characters as much as I’d want to be my Charr Warrior, I’d probably be more like my Human Guardian. Since he’s more about protecting and helping others than any of my other characters (for his base personality in the ‘mini RP’ I do. My humans tend to have very human names, though two have Germanic last names, despite non-Germanic first names.

Saul Wolfden being my Guardian, though named because it is a name I commonly use, it has all the traits I’d want, favorite male name, wolves, and just works.

Terra Wolfheld is my Mesmer, also two of my favorite things, favorite female name and wolves also, knows to not be arrogant (outside of her noble attire), generally complacent with situations she’s put into. Makes herself appear less capable to deceive enemies.

Markis Drake is just a simple name for a simple Thief, scrawny due to being a street rat, does whatever he needs to survive.

My Charr are both named by their naming method. Ravage Tigerclaw is a Charr Warrior known for his ferocity in battle and especially savage look (gladiator-like style armor), name incorporates my second favorite animal, Tiger.

Reav Darksoul is a Charr Necromancer noted especially for enjoying watching things die and inflicting suffering on others, especially enjoys draining enemies to choke them.

I only have one of each of the other races.

Asura Engineer – Vandarris (while slightly off from usual Asura names, it isn’t too bizarre), anyone who has played Knights of the Old Republic knows where I got the name from. He’s rather obsessed with setting things and people on fire, considers himself sophisticated clearly wearing nobler looking attire.

Norn Ranger – Wulfgar Akerfeldt, originally was going to be a Guardian, Wulfgar is obvious at this point, Akerfeldt is a Swedish last name fitting with the commonly Germanic names of Norn. He’s not much different from the average Norn, just less boastful than most.
Side note, my Revenant will be a Norn too.

Sylvari Elementalist – Omniscient Victus, originally Victus Omniscient, but that was wrong as Omniscient was meant to be a title. As an Elementalist he is supposed to be knowledgeable hence the title. Victus essentially means life or living in Latin which fits well with a plant race.

Yeah, I’ve refused to use my Ranger in any dungeons or fractals I do until this is fixed, it’s that gamebreaking to how the class plays in organized content.

I check each patch by the slight chance it was ninja fixed.

I can’t be the only one that’s noticed this. This started around the September 9th patch where I no longer heard the death sounds of any male Human, Asura, Sylvari, or Norn. The male Charr death sounds play as they should. As far as I know, all female death sounds play.
The death sounds still play if an illusion dies or if you walk into a place with a bunch of dead npcs that can’t be revived.
It seems none of the male Human, Asura, Norn, or Sylvari pain noises are playing either, male Charr and all females are fine. The sounds they make when they attack still work.
This happened on both my old computer and the one I just got a couple of days ago so it isn’t related to that.

Proof that what I say is true – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn5qboPCHQQ

I would kill for a perma-stow option that grants a dps boosting boon. Having the pet out at times wouldn’t be useless, because it would boost our survivability through aggro mitigation. But in encounters like this…we need such an option.

They should have them work as the “Companions” or whatever they were called were going to work. You get an extra person and some damage with them out, but if you choose not to use the companion, you are buffed to compensate for the lack of a second character.
