Ranged.... Rangers are Godly (better?)

Just to be clear, your entire post is saying that everyone should shut up and that everyone is wrong.

Did you plan to actually contribute something?

If everyone is wrong, how are you different? Do you have suggestions or just criticisms?

I don’t imagine myself to be very knowledgeable about the abilities of all the classes, but don’t most classes get several ways of removing conditions.

Rangers don’t without traiting into it, but that isn’t directly germaine to the discussion.

People can’t remove damage without using their heal, but they can use all sorts of utilities to remove conditions. Compared to what a few stacks of might can do to increase the damage of everyone around you, the burning doesn’t really compare.

How do you want to fight the Elder Dragons?

I wouldn’t mind some sort of event that opens up a way to the area you fight the dragon in, but only opening the door for 10 mins each day? How about I do it once and its open for 24 hours, then wait a few days, or you have to do it each week to keep it open.

Making things ultra-hard with no waypoints and no way back in doesn’t make things better, just harder. Dragons should be difficult, but not to the point its just excessively frustrating.

There are tame-able devourers in the Black Citadel, you can tame them without any level requirement or worry about surrounding enemies.

But then other players would just start targeting critters.

I’d like some ability so that my spider pet and I can hide up in a tree and drop on enemies, like enemy spiders do. I understand it likely will never happen, but it would be fun.

Add it on to Hide in Plain Sight, when applied a bush appears in our place, along with a handful of other bushes, and we are randomly transported to one of them.

Call it the Whack-a-Ranger build.

Obviously if we turn into a bush any pet active when we use the skill would have to turn into something too.

Though I can just see some people who memorize the locations of all bushes and trees around capture points immediately attacking us.

The reference states that the charr knew of Melandru. Whether or not they revered her as a god, they at least acknowledged her power. If the charr will not recognize a Khan-Ur that can keep themselves alive, then seeing gods as a target to be killed isn’t a departure from this form. The charr want to be the strongest, and killing anyone potentially stronger proves the point. So while they might hold that Melandru created the world (for what value that holds, separated by time and language), it doesn’t necessarily follow that they sought to worship.

I would suggest that the charr viewed the humans as weaker, both physically and culturally. So when the humans won, they see the source of their failure in the help of the six gods. Seeing weak humans strengthened so much by the aid of the gods, they then conclude that obtaining aid from gods will only make them so much stronger.

This suggests both that they didn’t know the Forgotten were servants and worshippers of the Six, or believed that their strength was innate and not granted by any god.

I would prefer it if I could at least turn the effects off when using the Dreamer. I can imagine that it would get very irritating to see it all the time, but shooting a dragon in the hindquarters with my deadly unicorn spam…I might just set autoattack and laugh myself silly.

Is it worth the extra money to use the higher tier salvaging kits on items used only for salvage? Or should I save the money, use a crude salvaging kit on them, and save the expensive kits for gear?

why does everyone hate trahearne?

I’ll admit that I haven’t finished the personal storyline, so maybe this changes eventually, but right now I’m more upset that Trahearne is supposedly well-respected and gets his big glowy sword…and sucks.

Aside from the mediocre, uninspiring, and at times bland voice acting, shouldn’t a character supposedly as awesome as he is supposed to be actually kick kitten once in a while?

I do understand that as the player we are supposed to do most of the work, but when I’m running around killing undead like its going out of style, he’s just swining the big sword around and doing a whole bunch of not much.

I don’t care so much that he gets all the credit, I care because he doesn’t seem to deserve all of it. He seems good as a coordinator, logistics manager, and strategist. But I would completely accept him getting the credit if ANet could toss in a cutscene or two where he mows down armies, sets continents on fire, redirects planets, or at least fights better than the usual npc I’m supposed to guard.

Looking at the facts, there are some interesting possibilities presented.

The largos seem developed for land, with a naming structure possibly similar to Orrians. Does this suggest that there is some link, direct or otherwise? A direct link would be some set of Orrians, at some point in the past, decided to leave for the deep sea for whatever reasons. An indirect link might be that the naming conventions are a result of some prior contact between the two peoples, not necessarily a shared ancestry.

Without trying to speculate too much on precisely why they decided to live on the bottom of the ocean, there are some possibly explanations for how the “wings” (or whatever you want to call them) might have come to be.

First is that it actually is “magic”. Without a detailed history impossible except by declaration from ANet, we cannot definitively say that something isn’t magic unless it happens after the gods took back magic. Without knowing when the largos moved to the bottom of the sea, magic might have been involved.

Secondly is science. As has been noted previously, they seem oddly designed for living in the deep sea. This might be because they were just that…designed poorly. Some genius (or a set of such minds, possibly over generations) with more talent in biological and/or genetic manipulation than naturalistic design might come up with people like the largos.

As a question, because I can’t remember myself, do the largos wear the mask underwater? I recall that Sayeh wore it on land, but I don’t specifically remember if it was on or off in the temple. If they wear it only on land it would be understandable, but if they wear it underwater too then there would seem to be more going on.
