I cant seem to find a thread for this matchup anywhere. So I made this one. Apologies if it already exists

been a fun week. Will be interesting to see what the next week holds. Some of us play WvW because we really enjoy it. My Mesmer was specifically made just to pvp and WvW. Ofc i still play on my guard tag sometimes, but with all of the tags flying recently i have found it is better to try and just help the doritos already flying, than add one more to the bag…

I gave up when I was trying to Solo defend HoD Garrison vs a zerg of like 30 ET with 3 Omegas… No one was even in our Borderland. At least, no one was answering or talking in map chat. As for EB, I gave up when there was only 4 of us defending Durios from the 40 or so NSP, just to have them split their zerg and take Bravost and QL while we held them off at Durios.

I feel bad for ET in this match-up, if HoD is getting the Outnumbered buff from all the NSP running around, and we seem to have more people than ET, then I give your entire server props.

Question. I do not intend this to be rude/demeaning/anything else. But has HoD given up this week? Normally as far as I can remember you guys have a penchant for being really aggressive and fighting hard. Large numbers, good fights etc. But this week (at least the hours i have been on) has seemed to be different. IDK if NSP is just growing fast, or its some combo of both.

Again really not trying to be rude, just wondering what is going on.

I also second the ET thing, they have done great given the circumstance

Running multiple tags can actually be a really great thing, if done properly. Solid inter-commander communication for hitting multiple objectives and also coming together to back each other up. Even better are guild alliances to do the same thing tagless. It could be incredibly effective here because servers in this level aren’t accustomed to having to defend on multiple fronts. Bring 3 15 man teams to a BL with 2 golems/team rushing keeps all at once would prolly net you 2/3 T3 keeps on most nights. But noobmanders aren’t going to be doing any of that bidness. I remember times on SoR where there would be 5 tags running on a BL and that kitten was beastly. Granted much higher pops on SoR. We don’t have no 5 commander full map queue luxury here.

Heh, I hear that. Ideally multiple tags can be radical…

But not when they all think that they are Gods gift to WvW. We had a commander tag who told me that “Attacking is more important than defending” (by which he meant that he should smash his face against a t1 Durious instead of defending the t3 Bravost.)

Et doesnt seem to have the issues with numbers that people have complained about I watched a 30+ man zerg on at a time when neither of the other 2 servers had 10 on the map. The ET zerg managed to take 1 tower and 2 camps and then lost them within 10 mins. This ET zerg spent at least 15 mins chasing our 3 man XOXO group around and failing to log any kills and getting us 20 stacks on our sigils. They chose to chase u instead of taking an unguarded Bay.

The more I play against ET the more I realize it isn’t solely a numbers issue. Running from even number fights, chasing small groups with 30 man zergs, and making no effort to use their players in an efficient manner to gain more points.

Your server could have twice its current population and without upgrading the quality of players you will always be bottom bracket server.

As it stands right now:

If its PPT your after, I think you guys need to step up your game. We are running quite efficiently with what we have. According to Glicko we are handing you your kitten this matchup thus far.

But you are right, we do have many folks who run off chasing stragglers because they smell blood. It is one of my pet peeves when commanding when this happens. Or when attacking a tower, people run off to take a camp without dropping their supply into siege first. Especially when I didn’t even want to take the camp until after a cap…

This week has been… interesting. What I mean by that is we have some New (ish) tags running around who feel like bigshots and are making questionable decisions. I am mostly speaking about EB, for reference. Its okay that people are learning, but the engine is running less smoothly than normal. If i were to give an opinion I would say that one of NSP’s problems is that we have WAY too many tags running around. (i have not even run for my tag for days, as it just adds to the confusion imo)

I do enjoy my server, and i think it could go far in WvW, assuming people stop talking kitten to each other and focus on killing the opponents.

HOD, as always, good fights.

Shoutout to the people in ET BL that myself and my necro friend fought yesterday. We were the LGoH tags. The dance party in Gods was the best part for sure. We were blasting music and hoping you would join us. The balista was overkill though, oh well. Stay classy

Otherwise this matchup has been fun. NSP in EB needs to get our stuff together. Too many tags going too many different directions has cost us more than once already. Looking forward to seeing how this week plays out

Also as a side note, i would THROW MY MONEY AT ANET if they could give us purchasable skins for our minions, especially the flesh golem. All my money, they could have it.

this is major area I see ANET wasting huge opportunity in the gem store.

skins for armor weapons and pets could be raking in the gems.

I would be interested in playing a minion spec if my golem at least looked cool while he watches me kill things.

I would seriously pay $USD for the old Flesh Golem skin, not a doubt in my mind. I have to agree with what some of you guys have said, the Wurm is a cool minion. But i do not understand why they did what they did with the other ones.

It would be interesting to know what the goal was, so far nobody has come on with a large amount of Love for the new models, or are those people just quiet?

Its been fun, but i cannot wait for this match to end. It takes a little bit of the joy out of WvW to be consistently steamrolled by massive zergs. You guys play it well to be sure, but there are some things numbers cannot fix. Our day time hours have been brutal.

I will say to the BP assault on NSP keep last night, THAT was fun. You crazy people were inside our watergate faster than I believed was possible. I was in the defensive Omega shooting down from our walls, and it had me real nervous for a while. That Golem’s name was Henry, and he was my friend.

First post in the Necro threads, hope no one murders me for this. I wanted to get some opinion about what I view to be the single most disappointing thing in the entire GW2 game.

But first, the why. I love Necro. In GW1 back in the day I used to love to roll a MM and build mountains of minions to slaughter my way through helpless victims. I remember back in the day when Factions came out and i was most excited about what new types of minions i could summon to my aid… truth to be told the entire Necro experience for me was tied up in Minion Mastery.

I don’t say this to change the future, or whine about the past. I explain this so that when you see the next sentence you have some background for why i refuse to roll a MM necro in GW2. It has nothing to do with balance, or skill, or design.

The flesh golem is rather pitiful

I remember rushing to get the elite skill before because when I summoned that monstrosity i felt like the king of the undead, like nothing could stand in my way with my giant golem cleaving away foes like a scythe through wheat.

So eagerly i looked up the Flesh Golem in gw2, and was underwhelmed by the small spike arms and seemingly low res textures. I have tried to love it, and accept it as the rightful heir to devastation, but i cannot.

anybody else feel this way? anybody else remember the glory that this guy used to be? Convince me the new one is cool guys, i WANT to believe

Even when kitten hits the fan (poor kitty) and everything goes to kitten (yay kitty) most commanders in my experience just state what went wrong and move on.

However, as with anyone in WvW, if a blue dorito person starts losing their rag in chat and generally being rude, call them out for their ridiculous kitten behaviour and report away if they start getting truly offensive. You’d be surprised just how many people will buckle and cease their rude, rampant ramblings after a good telling off.

Blue Doritos are people too, sometimes they can lose perspective. This is good advise imo

When my server has the torch of doom (outnumbered) I like to fire up the karma train and run like kitten*. Why?

Because if they enemy has to keep going back to their towers/camps and waiting out RI and taking them, then they are not crushing your outnumbered forces. It allows you to set the pace of the game and make them react to you. As soon as they are following you around, it does not matter how big their zerg is. Big = Slow.

To be fair though, staff Guard is #1 for a Cmd Tag. Survive everything, push into enemy zergs, speed buff allies, wall off choke points…

When i fly my tag i try to realize that my goal here is to provide a measure of coordination to a group of people who otherwise may lack that. I try to make it fun and help guide us to a victory. Sometimes that means i make a call out and try to be firm about what needs to happen, othertimes it means just following the bloodthirsty zerg to bring us all together.

A tag means (at least for me) that i wanted to invest in the ability to bring people together. My favorite times in EB are when i have people whispering me advise, alerts, suggestions and tips. The whole server can come together to accomplish a goal. That is why i love my tag

I agree some tags are bad/jerks. That is the nature of the game. but like a lot of people have said, if the tag is bad, just ignore it. I tend to do that to a alot of tags personally until i see that they have the interest of the server ahead of their personal power trip.

my 2 thoughs

oh, 1 last BIG thought. I almost NEVER tag up when there is another tag running. Only for very specific circumstances. Nothing is worse than 2 tags not working together. Ungh

This has been a fun match overall, kinda lopsided sure, but a lot of Action

Gotta give props to the “Ferg Zerg” not often on, but a nice threat when they are. Also props to all the regulars I see online, good to have friends to fight behind.

What guild was the Ele in? I saw [CV] for the female human, but the other was too small of an image to make out the tag.

:) We lost rating because we rnged a high tiered match and gained massive amounts of rating by just breathing in 3rd place.

You on the other hand, have been steadily staying in the same place you have always been when in a match up with us.

I think everyone under Darkhaven is underrated in rating. You were the first ones to show it though =)

:) We kind of miss the match up, although it’s nice having really close scores like this. For a long time, we had transfer servers moving up through us and had a lot of guilds leave our server all the time. Now that the paid transfers are up. we are bulking up on our natives and getting our numbers back in order after losing pretty much every organized guild on our server cept Os, Zos, Bots, and, NOOB. We have gained some new and improved allies since then and we are feeling good after being tested int he higher tiers.

We honor that challenge DH gave!

I miss DH, they were fun! (Props to DR this week for a great match and HOD for some nice zerg play during my active hours this week)

Now the only trick will be do make sure all of the guilds work together and get along =P

It would be awesome if some of us in the upcoming generation could help bridge over old (disagreements/wounds/etc) No reason NSP can’t continue to win!

Had a lot of rage last night

NSP decided to pull the classic “overman” tactic again and pushed into inner. Not sure if stupid or trolling, but they quickly ditched the golems that managed to break unsieged gate in the first place. That or the golems died before they reached the inner, because NSP golems

Then, some jerk decided to click on my char, and spam “/laugh @” so many times it wiped the map chat out of my window

Then commander repaired outer gate and the whole NSP unit got stuck inside

When we finally got out to push, the whole NSP unit crumbled like Bruce Almighty’s cookie

Interestingly, I don’t see any NSP spamming /laugh anymore

Instead of trying to blame us for using that as a tactic, maybe just deal with it? I did not get on here and kitten when HOD and DR both sent zergs and flipped 3 of our t3 towers. It was super frustrating, and a great play by both servers for seizing the moment.

Visit a drought-ridden area of the world. Build a facility aimed at desalinizing and separating water from liquids. Then proceed to build an irrigation system. Set up a drainage system which then collects your QQ while you play guild wars. Link this to the facility which is then linked to the irrigation system you set up. Then invite local labourers to help tend the fields. You would be doing a great service to those in need and by the looks of that last post, you would be a long lasting source of water.

You know, when you make a post whining about something in the manner that you did, all it does is show that you were bothered by it. When a person responds by mocking you for your post and you respond to that by saying “they are raging”, you are not fooling anyone.

Everybody reading your initial post thinks that you are whining and “raging” about the issue you mentioned. Seeing your second post, their opinion of you will lower even more as they blatantly see through your weak attempt to maintain your pride. Since that seems to matter to you, may I suggest avoiding saying something in the first place next time?

but i guess i just dont like that Golems are so cheap now. I remember building my first golem way back when, it was an INVESTMENT.

“I’m watching this. I have over 400 siege weapons and over 9k badges I may exchange for siege to sell on the TP. Im just a solo roamer so I have no use for much of it. I think there is going to be a huge abundance of very cheap siege and yes, I think siege is going to be very available and used more frequently. Right now from watching the prices on GW2Spidy, prices are all dropping. It could change, but I think its reflecting an oversupply of these items and prices will continue to drop. When there was only the JP, siege was tight. Now we have level 500s getting around with over 500 siege from levelling and random drops as well as JPs. Not to mention PvE players are going to want to farm the JP to make a profit.”

This ^ But i have to wonder how healthy this is going to be for WvW. Prices will drop, and it some way it will be neat to not have to drop 1G everytime i tag up to make sure i never run out of rams. But on the flip side i am afraid that it will eventually create a situation where a player MUST be on siege, because everyone else is. Which would take some of the fun out of it.

Also, I am going to shamelessly ride an Omega into a zerg fight, for funzies, because I can now =P

As of last night an Omega Golem sold for 1.5 Gold on the TP

Alpha Golems were selling for 21 Silver

I really have to wonder how healthy this is going to be for WvW? I mean it is now possible and affordable to use siege weapons in each and every fight. Combine that with the build fast mastery and it will be interesting to watch the match up change.

To be honest though, the idea of flash mobs of dozens of Omegas just seems kinda broken, Golem pushes where strong enough as was…

what do you guys think?

Level 80 Guardian

Twice now I have run the Mel Temple event after a reset. I participate in the second phase during the entire event, helping to slay the spider and gorillas and whatever else spawns. I get drops during the event. But once it is completed, no rewards are given to me and I do not get any credit for participating in the event.

It would be nice to have this fixed. Even cooler if we could get a bonus chest or so to make up for wasted time…

It is funny how the different times work,

when I get online in the afternoon EST NSP usually has a decent amount of support going. But as the night gets later that “outmanned” buff starts to show up more. At one point it was myself and maybe 6 NSP trying to hold our towers against 30+ Red.

Needless to say we lost Anz. Bummer

Good fight this week though, lots of fun battles to be had by all.

Rollin with the Bird man and Smit yesterday on a Golem stomp (there is no other way to put it) was always delightful as well

It is a well known glitch. Blue team (whatever server) does not get supply to half of their towers/SM because the Yaks are glitched.
