Only because we have a TON of new people up in WvW (some the daily/monthly achievers and some just finding the joy of WvW finally). Though, last night, I got on later due to work and went to YBBL…I didn’t fight one BP.

Though, you can’t bait me with that…cause depending on the fight, we’re all bags. Of course, I seem to be more than others…haha. At least no one gets WXP off of me!! (Yes, the little things matter….haha)

you really need to learn how to count my friend! there was at least 10 of you compared to the the maybe 7-8 of us and you had fully upgraded camps and let me tell you, those guards really put you guys on their back! It’s a real shame when a server has to rely on NPCs :/

Hahahahaha….did I call it or WHAT!? Told you last night after we finished wiping them at the sentry on the way to NE camp that they would say we were a zerg! Instead it was a small group that engaged and then someone called in map chat that the camp was contested so the other 4 of us ran in singularly. Of course you were running away from the camp at this time and was near the sentry when we downed all but one of you, who ran to the water.

As for NPC’s…you do realize that just happens when you fight near a camp and you don’t own the camp, right? Kiting around sends you in all sorts of directions…but then, it makes sense for you to cry about this, Dinklemas.

Great job to GoM these past two days! I wish you guys would have played like this all week!

this is normal from what ive seen of yaks. they cant win normally with 1 or 2 so they send in zerg types and claim that it is not the reason for doing so.

During our last match-up I saw random people from 10 different guilds on this wall, not really a reason to judge the whole server or guilds because of that. The problem is already known and probably will take anet another two months to fix. As for now, enjoy the free thieves-hunting simulator.

I do WvW all the time, been doing it for months, and spend considerable amounts of time in there. Haven’t had this many glitch abuse with any other servers. Just like you said, if at least 10 different guild from yak’s are just in and out sm whenever the hell they want, that IS a reason to judge the whole server. Even if anet aint fixing these bugs fast enough, that doesn’t mean they should freely abuse it. And as a server, they decides to not even gonna care? I remember when mesmer from sos glitch into Mendons. Our guys all yelled not to take port, and we all reported the person who did, and kicked the guy from the guild he was in. Seems to me Yak’s don’t have moral standards like us eh? 10 different guilds walks in and out and nobody even tries to stop them. Ridiculous.

We do care. We have been watching for it ourselves to get proof. I do not know about 10 guilds, but I do know of a few. If this happens to anyone, please reach out to that guild and give them screenshots for proof. Yaks does not condone or tolerate this kind of behavior and never has.

I am rarely in EBG so I have not seen this myself. I do hope it is fixed soon because it is totally annoying.

We’ve lost close to 100 players that I can estimate. That’s a huge chunk, if you think about it. So, against YB, people with day jobs doesn’t really equate. Same with the new patch…since we are mostly a PvE server and always have been. New patch = shiny here. haha

We would have been in Magg more if Backcap Bend wasn’t living up to their name (ONE guild is main offender). As it has been previously pointed out we have already defeated yall twice (who cares really) in the ppt game when faced with three equally rated servers. Also as stated by an outside objective opponent to both of us is that we have outplayed yall all week.

We haven’t backcapped during any of the 5 WvW nights I participated in, so I’d like at least an example of [One] being ‘main offender’.

Also, Maguuma is anything but ‘outside objective’. They pretty much thrive on getting reactions out of people by talking forum trash. That said, with [RAM]’s force of like 20 guys usually taking care of EB and [WAR] and others leaving, a huge chunk of people being overworked have just stopped, what do you expect?

Well, [RAM] was bigger than that. They’d queue YBBL when they would wp over to help. lol We’ve lost a ton of people in a 2 week span. You can see it in our NA numbers during prime time. We’re trying to fix that, though! lol

Kaineng was the third server both times, I think. Too lazy to pull up mos again. And yes, I noticed that your night coverage is better than ours now. I think DORPs raid and Xushin’s train ended at the same time last night which is when YB fell. So yes, we helped you by not playing :P I was half joking, anyway. The point is, why are people getting so bmad about getting double teamed? The only way a second or third place server can not be double teamed is if the first server doesn’t play. Furthermore, it makes plenty of sense for the first server to attack the second server to keep the point gap high.

Ohh, I get those strats. That’s normal play. The double team I’m talking about is when servers don’t attack each other just the 3rd server. Like today with CDBL bay…we were holding off CD quite well, til Mag showed. CD and Mag didn’t even attack each other inside Bay…CD let Mag take it from us. We were outmanned and lost it quick to Mag, who then pretty much gave it to CD (with Mags numbers, they should have been able to hold it a LOT longer) before Mags zerg even showed on our BL.

Then on our BL, Mag’s zerg let CD’s go without even a squabble. They just ran past…and normally in that instance, red is dead, so there should have been a fight. That’s the double team I mean. lol

-A Tier which offers a fairly balanced weekly score. So it is not a train wreck each week for the same server.
-A Tier which does not field Full Que Zergs on Multiple Borderlands through out the week.
-We would prefer an underdog Server on a Balanced tier to help make it more Fair and Balanced. Not looking for the weekly winner.

To answer what you are looking for:

-Yaks Bend has been involved in all of the closest matches since the random match-ups have started. This is the first week it hasn’t been close but that is due to filling in spots.
-We only had one “zerg” style guild and they are gone. While we may at times do that, our server is more comfortable with using actual tactics and beating groups larger than ours.
-At the moment I would call us the underdog because we have been falling steadily. I do not doubt we will even out soon…maybe even next week. lol I also do not doubt we will rise again. We may be a lot lower than you want to go, but won’t be for long. We have proven to ourselves and other servers that we can hold our own against servers with twice our population. While we have not won, we usually pulled second.

:( That’s even worse. Not getting along is horrible but when it ruins the game for you, your only choice is to move servers or to quit the game. That’s too bad. While you won’t be able to roll with them in WvW at least you can converse and get together in the PvE world. (Yes, there is a PvE world out there! I promise it doesn’t hurt.)

You guys took Bay and Hills fast from all 12 of us (as well as the rest of our BL) but we rallied at Garrison!! We were outmanned for at least half of that fight! Which is why we didn’t try to take Kain’s trebs down and why you guys got in…but we held til a little support came in! You had us worried for a bit, especially when Ebay was pushed out then showed up at WG while we were fighting off Kain at the west wall.

Thank you for maxing my monthly kills and getting half of the events I need by defending! Good times for me since I wasn’t able to play at all this weekend!

I didn’t watch the whole thing, just the first 2 fights. Hope with the first one you didn’t think that was 5+ yaks, since most of them were illusions…..

it was 5, pause at 35 seconds and count. I also can upload the rest of the footage while i’m down that shows 8 in the end.

Edit: Also I have illusion names turned off, all you see is their bodies. No pet names either.

To the edit…really? At a 1:05 I distinctly see a red named character running after you that dissapated after you “killed” it. You did kill a lot of illusions and a few didn’t have names, but most did.

As for the pausing, it is too blurry to see anything paused at that time. I think I’m fairly sure I saw 3 actual players though.

lol last reply to you, switch to 1080p and maybe that will clear things up, pause anywhere between 18-22 seconds and count them as they are running towards us (before any clones could be made)

On a different note, what is up with all you yaks and CD alt+f4’ing while downed? You do know that we still get credit for the kill and loot bags.

All open field siege is lame regardless of which server is doing it.

I am curious as to why? Not saying yes or no to it, more interested in views on this. Siege is a part of the game, curious as to why it seems lame to use it. For me personally the only lame siege in the game is sieging from keep to keep and that is (my opinion) simply horrible game design, and totally understandable that people use it

It’s lame when a larger group of people siege creep a smaller group. So 60 people building AC’s against a group they should be able to smear themselves, such as 20-30.

Even at equal numbers it’s silly, because it shows you’re still not good enough to handle equal numbers.

The only time appropriate for open field is when on the weaker side.

Does this count for having 3 golems and 2 rams to open a paper door? LOL

So a massive party in Stonemist for everyone for the last hour before reset? Drinks, Food, and Fireworks? Oh and golem brawls.

Personally, I think that would be awesome! I think the match-up will be decided tonight but who knows, it might be tomorrow afternoon! Either way, it would be very cool if every server could queue up EB an hour before reset and PARTY!

Whoever owns SM lets other servers in (or lets them break in) for fireworks, food and drinks! So the lag isn’t too stupid, open up all the towers and do the same! Take screen shots, frap it, show the other servers how good gamesmanship is done! I bet Anet would post some pics or have reps to take their own if we could pull this off.

To be fair, I would suggest the part just inside the outer gates of SM. Let the other BL’s have their skirmishes (or own parties) and put aside the fights for that last bit. There may be some people who won’t adhere to this, but I bet most would if it is agreed upon!

Though….with how close this game is, it could also go to the wire…..ahhhh…!!!!!!

I’m really sad that work/school/RL kept me from playing so much this week. It’s been a pleasure, CD and Kain and I wish you the very best next week. We may not have as long of threads as the other match-ups but I think that is due to having too much fun in WvW!!

Yeah, that one. We had built all the golems but then the new build hit and when we came back they were gone, so had to build more. Not everyone came back when that happened. I think we would have been ok, but our little zerg (if zerg it was….was only about 15-20 people, not counting golems) would not let their sights off of the golems. A couple of CD came to take the SE camp and that was when you saw us. Few stragglers jumped into the water and well…yeah, all that red would not be hard to see. haha.

I do not know what happened with the portals. I think the mes’s were just trying to hurry and do the best they could (and maybe forgot how far AC’s can go now). I just know they portaled before the others made it up there (when I got there all the golems were gone) and yeah….rest is just sad. I know we were laughing also. Isn’t often we try stuff like that and even less often it fails so epic’ly. lol

We left to defend home after that and then played with Kain.

(Stupid error about firewall and such…sigh) Can’t wait for upcoming days off to get some WvW love in! When I have played, this match-up has been the best! It feels like Yak’s of old out there and it’s fabulous.

I think I’m one of the few that has enjoyed the new randomized match-ups. It’s been a lot of fun and I think my whole server is revitalized!

Ok its like beating a dead horse, but Anet should have limited the amount of ppl per server a lot more harshly. The fact that people stack the T1 servers is the reason you are experiencing this.

If they actually made the game as guild wars not server wars then server stacking wouldn’t be the problem. Let people create independent alliances on a ladder system or sandbox it ffs, there wouldn’t be as much lop sided stacking. They made server wars so they could make money from transfers. It’s a company and they need to make money. Thats while they have continually failed to support the only actual active community that games have, which is pvp, because we don’t spend as much money in the cash shop as pve swarm does. We just have to deal with that.

Umm…you do realize that it was free to transfer til just this year, right? They did that because players were complaining about people transferring so easily and upsetting the server numbers. So, it is wrong to say that they made it that way just to profit from server transfers. Also, unlike a lot of other games, you don’t have to use real life currency to purchase gems….so the PvE/PvX’ers really do not have to pay for stuff…

I’ve really enjoyed the match up so far! Had a ton of fun yesterday (the only real day I have been able to play so far). Thanks for the great fights, CD and Kain! Mag always said our last match up was very even, but I think this one is better!

Yak’s Bend – A Community First, A WvW Contender Second

You know I was going to start this post with some rhetorical questions about you, the reader, being on an over or under populated server. I was going to make some comments about what Yak’s Bend has to offer to you as a player or a guild. I was going to tell you why you should consider moving to our server for those reasons.

Then I caught myself. You see, we on Yak’s Bend aren’t looking to beg other guilds to come to our server. We don’t want to be a bandwagon. We don’t want people to transfer to our server if you already have a server you love.

Here’s what we do want.

We want to be a community first and foremost, a place where people can come to play, learn, grow and have fun. We want to let all of you reading this know that we’re a community first. We want you to want to be a Yak; if you’re looking for a new home, a community you can be a part of. Check out www.ybbl.enjin.com and visit our Introduction forum and let us know who you are! If you decide that you do want to become a Yak, if that’s something that interests you, there are forums for finding a guild. If you’re a guild moving and have questions, introduce yourself and let us know. We have lots of very active community members who would be happy to show you around, so to speak.

We have a Community Site as you’re aware from this post and we also have a Community Mumble that everyone is welcome to use. There are also guilds on the server who operate their own VOIP servers and are very open and inviting.

I do not know what you feel about us, after having fought us for weeks and weeks but I wanted to back up what Kronyx said. If you are looking for a home and a community to be a part of, definitely take a look at Yak’s Bend.

We have guilds and players of all types. 100% WvW focused to true PvX and then new players who are checking out WvW for the first time. We have an alliance of guilds to help facilitate our WvW play, a fantasic server forum (I’m a bit biased >.>) and a large free mumble for the community and guilds.

I will not say we have not had our problems/flare ups..but really what family doesn’t? We do the best with what we have and we have a ton of players that care deeply about how we do. We love to have fun on game but we also care about winning and when they go hand in hand…well, we all know that is best! lol
