Osu, that sounds a lot of fun also! Hahaha….I played my guard in WvW earlier this week for the first time in over a year. There’d be so amusing moments.

No siege? What YB doesn’t already outnumber the competition enough that you have to totally remove the other servers’ ability to defend what little ground they potentially try to hold against the blobs? Only way no siege is fair is if the servers have equal populations. That’s merely a pipedream in T2 right now.

As Liston said, it was an FA player that suggested it. Going by the bad forums, FA seems to “just want fights” and not deal with any of that silly siege stuff. It might be SoS that thinks differently, idk…

I think we can last a week with any type of event. lol The golem was fun just cause it changed things up…I think this would be also.

So, this was brought up on the bad forums and I think it would not only be hilarious but would satisfy some of the guilds that want “just fights.”

Everyone complains about bunker servers and servers that “depend on siege” so why not take that out for a week?

How about a siegeless week? Maybe only allow Flame Rams but everything else is a no go? I get this will be kitten TZ’s that are low in pop…so, to be fair, if the outnumbered buff pops, siege is ok but once gone they’re unusable? Or, they’ll just have to deal and get good at scouting and have the group during that time map hop? I’m sure most won’t mind the fights at all and who knows, things may not be taken at all if the fights are decent enough?

Gold tier could use one! I think FA has the pop to ensure any of the T1 servers aren’t bored! It’d be nice to know for sure!

Nope because any time someone from another server tries to contact Yaks through their forums their application is denied by one of your power-hungry buttmad nerds that are running your forums, the attempt has been made to contact you and the guilds I heard from have decided that contacting you is not important anyway so they are transferring.

This feels…..exaggerated. We have server guests registering on our forums every day. There is no reason to deny anyone.

There are always ways to talk to reps too. Just go to our website and pick a person’s acct name to talk to. lol

I really don’t want to be flooded by people who would be there only to troll us. If they want a stable community with no drama, sure…otherwise….nope, move on.

SCTY is an amazing guild! I get teased for being maxed in guilds but SCTY is definitely my home. The people are amazing and helpful. We do have a short trial time but that is to ensure you enjoy and feel comfortable in the guild as much as to ensure we think you fit. Not every guild is for everyone but SCTY is special enough to at least give us a try!

Just want to congratulate Yaks Bend for their efforts for season 2 tournament.

Little late, but thanks! We are definitely at our best during the tourney’s!

Instead of being sad that you have to fight us, join us! See the fun to be had by making the other servers cry! (Even when we’re losing we cause QQ! Who else can say that!?)

I personally like the tournaments. I like the competition feel they give my server. We are definitely on top of our game during them and it isn’t for the rewards but to say “We did this!” In both season, YB played above its pop and was victorious. Even if we get 4th this tourney because the scoring was a bit silly, everyone will know we deserved higher.

9 weeks is a bit long, though. I feel a burning need to play more during seasons, just because there are more fun fights, our morale is high and so it’s more fun but the intensity is high for me and I need some down time. lol

For those complaining about the rewards….be happy they aren’t amazing, otherwise the QQ for the stacked servers, like HoD, would be worse!

If you would like a server that thrives on competition, has high morale, works together and allows each guild to do what they do best, then give YB a shot. We are our best during the tourney’s but always have fun in WvW regardless.

We’ll even teach you not to be afraid or ashamed to use all the (legal) facets of the game to not only win but make the other servers QQ even more. Nothing is more satisfying than the tears of those you fight.

Our cooperation and drive to win definitely sets us apart. We never give up, even when it seems it is pointless. We see what we want and we give ourselves to it. The community is amazing and while nothing is expected from individual guilds, everyone still does their best to get the job done.

If you want a home, a place that will become a family to your guild, come to YB. We’ll have your back, the enemy will give you lots of bags and lots of fun. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain!

So many things to comment on while reading this! I’m sure I’ll miss most them that came to me. First, changing WvW to what you first suggested would make me stop playing it. I personally like all facets of the game, but I enjoy WvW because it is a true team competition. I am a horrible solo player, but my server does a great job working together. This is part of the reason I have never transferred.

I have enjoyed the leagues. Our server…yes the SERVER comes up with strategies to help us win. This does necessarily mean the match, either. It means if we know it’s gonna be a rolfstomp, we have a priority and it’s a win if it happens. Like last year when we fought SoS, we knew their night crew was gonna PvD everything so our goal was to keep our N safe. You know what…we did it til a mishap on Thursday night. I call that a definite win. Our morale was huge because we managed that.

I’m a little confused by a couple of your statements. “Not to mention a severe lack of server loyalty anyway…” This makes it sound like you are looking down on those that have transferred but then just now you said “do the WvWvW’ers love to play so much that they would spread themselves out equally across the servers? Or do they confuse server pride and community with selfishness and greed?” Take the full sentence and it sounds like you are saying that server pride is selfish and greedy yet reading it alone it says the opposite.

What do you really think about server pride? Personally, my server is like an extended guild. I can pop into WvW and find names and toons I know to play with, even when I do not have a guild on. Those guilds that have left, for whatever reason, I feel as if they have just moved away…like a job transfer. I often tease them that they need to come home.

As for the casual comment. Yes, the game in general is a casual concept and WvW can be casual..but the scoring and matches make it inherently non-casual. EotM is totally casual. I feel like EotM is what Anet thought WvW would be when they were selling us on GW2 before and during Beta’s. A place where people pop in, kill a few invaders, take a few objects and hop back out to PvE. I do not think they fully grasp how fun and addicting it would be for a lot of players and how much the score would matter to people.

New maps would be fun. New strategies to come up with for new terrain. I get being upset about population imbalances. I mean, we pretty much know who was gonna win Silver and Bronze leagues and yeah, having it totally be a surprise would be great but it is no different than knowing that one server has a better skill set and strats so will stomp another. I do not know exactly should be done but I do know I do not want what has happened to my son’s school where competition is totally gone and everyone gets a participation ribbon. Cause really…how bland.

HoD fell out of T1 a month after release, when much of Titan Alliance left the game. The only relevant experience left now will be the people who just transferred down a couple weeks ago.

Again, another person missing the point. I am simply asking if people would please quit dismissing HoD as a terrible WvW server when they are getting slapped in the face by us.

Well, we’re only getting “slapped in the face” by HoD because of numbers not really because of any superior tactics. Only a few guilds on the server seem to be using any, the rest are just taking advantage of being able to go to multiple BLs and do damage by force.

I would not be surprised if HoD takes Silver. The round the clock numbers they have may just be the edge needed to win over FA. Even if you guys are not queuing maps, the fact remains that you have enough people to field good numbers in all 4 BLs. This is not something YB can do. When it is not reset, the only time we have a queue is when something big is going on either defensively or offensively. Unfortunately that queue means the other maps have the outnumbered buff.

If you want a great community that works together yet lets your guild do what it likes best, check us out! We may not have the pop to win against the hordes of HoD but that does not stop us from doing our best and having fun at the same time! We welcome all types of guilds. All we ask is that you have a positive attitude and want to have fun.

We are never discouraged about being outnumbered, instead we enjoy the challenge and will keep fighting and showing up!

YB is very interested in the match up. This will determine where we really will be placed in the league. We have friends on both servers, so, yeah, we expect to be pushed. That and I know for a fact both outman us in pop.

We’ll probably get stomped, but don’t expect us to quit. We’ll enjoy the fights regardless of how paper our stuff is! HoD is the definite wildcard. Will the success of this week allow the regular WvW’ers to be able to get in to fight (who I think took a nice rest this week), or will we be facing AP hunters at first?

HoD’s position will be quite sweet for the tourney. Their status of free transfers have even caught the eye of two YB guilds! While I do not think YB will do as well this season, I do not doubt it will be horrible, even with the transfers off. Granted, always better if they stayed, but I think those guilds don’t remember season one well and how many people showed up. lol They just want a decently stacked server to play with and rank 13 is guaranteed to get them.

We have gotten some transfers ourselves that came in before the horrible price of 2400 starts tomorrow. Yeah…rank 12 blows. lol BP and us will just sit in our corner and cry while the free/cheap servers gain everyone. At least the mix up will make it interesting to decide who will end where!

Oh and Chris..were you on SBI for season 1? lol You make it sound like we should feel bad for being a defensive server! Haha

If we’re so good, why do we have random guilds that just appeared talking up our server that’s in “Dire” need of help. I would point out that consensus is not correctness. There’s a good reason why all the best guilds we’ve ever had have left our server and we’re left with mediocrity. But hey what do i know i’ve only been on yaksbend since the start and seen the failure first hand maybe someday it will change.

Why not have random guilds talking up the server? Everyone from YB that has spoken on this (except for you two) I have seen in our WvW every day.

Actually, not all of our good guilds have left. But, you are right, there is a good reason they left, they wanted something new; wanted new guilds to learn from and to fight. Most were open field guilds and needed the change to improve their game. Isn’t that what those types of guilds do? Move around so that they can get in the best fights, get good loot and fight different guilds to improve? This is especially important when we are seeing the same match-ups over and over.

Idk what failure you are talking about but I am sorry you two from The Third String feel this way. I do not agree at all. Besides this drama you are trying to start we haven’t had any for almost a full year and our morale is great! I would rather not any start now. I like YB being drama free. lol Though, yes, you have a right to your opinion.

Take a look at YB. We’re rebuilding also but I think we’re fairly stable in T4. We have a great core of guilds and players that work together to get things done.

I haven’t responded before because you of the ranks you specified, but decided to because re-reading your post, we could be a good fit.

You wrote that from a server you want: “We want to help build the server from the ground up and form alliance with friendly Guilds. To simply put it, we just want a friendly community where everyone can work together to achieve a common goal.”

That fits YB. Our guilds work together really well and we have not had any drama in a year. Your guild would be helping us to rebuild. So, if that is something that truly sounds interesting to you, we’d be pleased to talk to you. I can easily tell you more specific things and answer more questions any time.

Our OCX is light. I won’t light. We do have a commander that has been recruiting during that time frame for more cohesiveness. So, if you hate to wake up to being night capped, yeah, we are not for you. But if you like fights, never giving up, and a great community that works together for a common goal…well…talk to us.

We still need guilds, now more than ever. I know you all are seeing us go down in rankings and think it is over for us, but that is so far from the truth. We have lost a large guild but that was not due to the server or our community; they just wanted something different and new.

We are still the server that surprised everyone by coming in 2nd in the Silver League. Come to a server that works like a family. Haha, Natronix! Yeah, we have amazing insomniyaks, like Chris said. Christmas is owning us because, you know…RL > GW2…the way it should be. I am sure EVERY server is noticing a difference but with Yaks being the “unofficial” older server, I think it is a bit more here because we are not queuing anything! Not YBBL or EB and not even on reset!

More other day’ers would be awesome! It would allow us to put up a fight against servers like SoS. We love defending and have 2 huge guilds that love looking for and owning fights. We have awesome havoc guilds that know their stuff and we have a great communication system that rallies people to where we need them.

We have squabbles like any close family but we have been drama free since Summer ‘03 (err…’13 but that didn’t rhyme..).

Come talk to us if you want a fun atmosphere, play the style your guild enjoys the most, and will fight til the bitter end to win.
