Depends… I buy the boxes (kittenes be crazy!) and i do for 1 simple reason:

Im going for a legendary, and this is a great way for me to get rares to salvage for ecto’s or maybe even get a precursor (So low chance, its probably not worth mentioning but oh well)

They also patched it yesterday so you get exotic more often from them

I got a level 80 named exotic, Fixer Upper, last night from the Demonic Chest after Shadow Behemoth event.

Can a named chest drop more than one named exotic? Would this rule out this chest/event?

No since this item can also be crafted by placing 4 random weapons in the forge. Someone has also found it in CoF path 1. Therefor, this is not shadow behemoth unique drop

Zho’qafa is up at Ring of fire, currently at the last abomination! Almost at eye of zhaitan

The lady in queensdale does NOT drop a chest. So not from that event

Even though most people have just about hopped on the Shadow Behemoth or Catacombs events as the final rests dropping place, something caught my attention while doing the personal story on one of my alts. While doing the temple of Lyssa story mission, the ever so lovable Trahearne says “Before Orr sank, this was the final resting place of Lyssa’s most loyal followers.” (see attached screen shot) This caught my eye rather quickly like anything that remotely can be linked to the final rest does. Has anyone looked into the events around the Cathedral of Eternal Radiance such as the Kill the Corrupted High Priestess? From my server, Malchor’s Leap is generally quite dead so getting enough players to do this event would be quite a task.

Well.. The words final resting place is used TONS of places around the world.. this is nothing special about this place, aswell as the lyssa event has been farmed ever since release on Ring of Fire aswell as it now

I’ve been clearing Zhoqafa all day with my guild (And Shadow Behemoth in the Zhoqafa down times) across Blackgate, Jade Quarry, and Yak’s Bend. For the most part, it’s just been a group of us 5, sometimes just a pair of us, and we can clear the event chain fairly quickly. A big thing I would like to mention, is that a lot of randoms that show up don’t seem to have a clue how to fight the abominations. When they swing their club, you can step behind them and avoid getting hit. When they charge up their jump attack, you will need to evade, same as when they do their rush move. Hopefully that helps anyone out that may be having trouble with the abominations, and I may see if I can record a video of how to 2 man or run the event with a small group as efficiently as possible, as we’ve gotten quite good at this event after farming it for some time. That being said, we’ve all farmed it quite a bit, and none of us have seen Final Rest yet.

Well… Since jeffrey said 10 people would use 7 months, you guys should expect to use 14 months… Yes, 1 year and 2 months just farming the event

When he said “Some have guessed right” does that mean only a few? or did he just say it because if he said: “Alot of you have guessed right” it would be to obvious that it was zho’qafa or shadow behemoth?..

Thats a good tactic! I got to level 80 on my second account quite fast, and i had around 40% map completion. When i started on my legendary weapon i had to get 100%… Imagin how boring it was, being lvl 80 running around doing map completion -_-

You should do every zone possible while leveling, to make it more fun

I’m leaning more toward Zho’Qafa Catacombs as to where Final Rest is obtained. Personally, I never knew that place existed and I was wondering why my Orr area completion was stuck at 59/60 for months O.O

If you take a look at one of the entrance to Zho’Qafa Catacombs on the world map, its look like a scythe head. Possibly a hint! Also the gargoyle design on the Final Rest staff remind me of the Royal Guards to the rare boss, Eye of Zhaitan(“Source of Orr” Storyline) which are the Old Kings and Queens of Orr.

As for the “same name chest share the same loot table” argument. Doesn’t The Shatterer and Tequatl the Sunless share the same reward chest name ? If that is the case then The Shatterer’s chest should also have a chance to obtain a “Shard of the Deep” scepter which is suppose to be unique to Tequatl’s reward chest.

Well, the thing is that zho’qafa was the first theory to pop up… It have been farmed for months now, by hunters. If we could get a precursor from that event, people would have gotten tons of precursors, and i doubt the final rest’s drop rate is so much lower than a precursor.

Im not saying its not from that event, but most liikely not, since its been farmed for months

I think we can just remove zho’qafa as a chance… Simply because the mod said something about “The chest with this lootable” or something like that. And from zho’qafa its a glorious chest i think, and there are so many of them around the world, and they have all the same loot table… So we have to find a chest with a unique name, like the demonic chest

As a condition, you must have scepter main hand. And a staff as a secondary is almost a must aswell. It has 1200 range + amazing AOE

Has anyone tried the events at Azabe Qabar, the Royal Tombs at cursed shore?
I remember saw an event required killing an Eye of Zhaitan there.
Never finished it so I don’t know if it will spawn a chest.

My guess is fire elemental. As some guy mentioned here, the huge boss in caldeon forest (Starting zone) has a special drop which only he drops. therefor its most likely the other starting bosses has it aswell.

The shadow behemoth, may aswell be a good option, but its getting farmed ALOT! People are guesting on other servers just to kill it 3 times in a row, most likely someone is going to get it/get the special drop he has. Someone might have it already, but its not the final rest and it is on the TP

Fire elemental, how many 80’s do it? Just because YOU and your guildies do it, doesnt mean ALOT do it… I never see anyone talking about it, never heard lvl 80’s talk about doing it… Its like the “Forgotten” boss….

I know its not related to the staff, but how is the focus you get from the big wurm related to it? Because it is a vine? Ok, then i can say… ON RINAL REST, MAYBE ITS NOT A GARGOYLE! IT CAN BE AN EMBER FROM THE FIRE ELEMENTAL!

Norn is best imo, you don’t have to worry about small places to land on because of the big hit box (borderlands jp where you drop down the branch after first chest). An asura character gave me a much harder time.

Your theory is wrong. They all have the same hitbox. Im an asura and i can stand like 1 meter of cliff, floating in the air because of the hitbox is bigger than the asura itself

As rising dusk said, you have to buy the recipe for 10 gold at miyani (the girl at the mystic forge) then you have to get 400 cooking, and make it there

Personally i would love something a long the lines of an archer or something… We got a ranger, the only class that comes close to archer, but its based to much around the pet… I would love a pure archer, maybe with crossbows or something aswell.

Im pretty sure they will add some new ones, just like they did with GW1. Most likely a new heavy armour atleast, since we only got 2 classes wearing heavy, while we got 3 medium and light.

People have to stop thinking about the lore and things related to the staff… I understand thats where we started, but seriously.. We are like 6 months into the game, its not a start anymore, all the kitten related to the staff has been farmed.

And for bosses saying “Who disturb my rest” its TONS of bosses saying things like that… Just because you hear the word “rest” doesnt mean thats where it drops

I love it! This RNG makes the game exciting for me… Its so awesome when you put in 4 rares in the MF and be like: “Exotic, exotic.. PLEASE!?!?! YES!” Its just so awesome!

Funny thing about wells is that they in essence require you to stand still and take a beating. Try to dodge and you pulled that mob group off the well, loosing quite a bit of DPS in the process. This while the rest of the game is basically built around player keeping on the move and dodging…

Thats why you use a dagger mainhand.. number 3 skill will immobize your foe, for 4 seconds

I am a necro that have played alot on this character. I can survive longer and kill more stuff on my necro, than on my warrior. If you use the right build, you can do the skill challanges EASY.

Dagger mainhand + well of suffering + well of corruption is always a great start. Very good DPS, aswell you can heal up using daggers number 2 skill, and go into death shroud when getting low on HP.

I never miss except for the corrupt boon. It doesnt even say miss, it just wont work 60% of them time… No idea why

I am on Ring Of Fire (EU server) and everytime i go to a low level zone there are quite a few players there. Especially in queensdale (The starting area for the human race) i see low level players all the time. The chat is filled with people asking for events etc. That might be because of the boss called: “Shadow behemoth” which spawns in that zone. Itsa huge boss that drops a chest filled with loot.

So i think ring of fire is a good server, atleast now. i have no idea if its going to change

The only reason they want you to respresent is to use you. If you represent, they get “fame” since more people will notice the guild, aswell as they gain influence. But they couldnt care less about you, they just want you to make influence. Leave the guild

You all know abaddons temple in orr, right? The temple of the forgotten god. Nobody is there, since its hidden underwater, and no reason to go there.

All the other god temples got events with chests, why shouldnt this one have? I am sure nobody has ever fully explored that place in every single corner. The only time i was there, were through my personal story

Must be your server. I am on the server Ring Of Fire and i find it extremly helpful! If i want to do a dungeon i havent done before, people are always helpful, friendy and will help me through it.

And everytime i ress someone, they all say thank you. Sometimes, a guy even mailed me 50 silver, because he asked in chat for someone to ress him, and i did it..

Its a very friendly server, and im glad i joined it

UPDATE!! 26.06.2013 i managed to get my spark from the forge! After like, 80-90 gold only (Suprisingly) i got it using 4 rare daggers. I love you zommoros

Myself goes for the dagger, and I, and probably alot more of you guys, need inspiration and motivation to complete your goal. So in this thread i want you guys to post your progress, updates your post/make a new, so we can all progress together. I love seeing other people succeed, and progress on their goal.

So, what i want you to post:

3. Which gift are you working on? And how far have you come on it?

Hey guys, just some food for toughts…looking at final rest on wiki it says req. lvl is 80 which probably means it has to be from lvl 80 boss or event (probably both). Id say Cursed Shore or Malchor’s Leap should be logical place for search.

You are either new to this game, or never been low zones when you are 80. Low level monsters, bosses and events can still drop lvl 80 rares and exotics…

i have asked this aswell, and that bow is a random loot from the mystic forge.

But i just thought of something… With the new equipment boxes you can buy for 5 laurels. Maybe you can get final rest from them? From like the necro, ele, mesmer etc. boxes? Since they contain a random piece of rare or exotic item

i don’t think the theme/name of the staff is related in anyways… ALL the known events thats related to the staff in some way, as been farmed like crazy… Time to farm other events guys!

i dont know why we are still farming zho’qafa etc. So what if the last hint we got was 5 months ago, they NEVER said its related to the staff? We are simply just limiting the search…

They also never said it drops from a “event boss”, they just said boss. There might be a boss which isnt connected to an event, which spawns a chest. Simply because event bosses IS NOT RARE! Every time you walk in a 100000 radius of the event the text: “NEW EVENT NEAR BY!” pops up and you go completed.. Not rare IMO..

Most likely a random unicorn hidden well under the grove, accesable by a hidden trapdoor noone has discovered yet

Or, let is sell them to the mercant selling them, for fractal relics.. I could need a couple of obsidian shards or skill points

NO! Seriously, i enjoyed leveling to 80 on my warrior, which was my first character.. But then i made a necro, and i love being max on him… no more leveling!

Curious … just came across the event “Kill the vengeful Son of Svanir” event in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. This is definitely not related to Final Rest but it seemed to have spawn as I was running past.

The interesting bit it that it says “You’ll pay for what you did to Steag!” and what I did to Steag was kill him in the previous personal story step. That story step is only for people who joined the Priory. Has anyone encountered this event without joining the Priory and I guess without having anyone else who did join the Priory being around? wiki has no mention of the event or the Veteran Svanir Champion that you have to kill. I didn’t fight it and then it seem to have despawned after a while.

I am wondering if there are actually boss type monsters which only spawn in certain places for people who have joined a specific Order.

I have NEVER seen this event and i joined the Vigil… But im not that much up in degdehaunt cliffs… I have 100% up there though

Yeah maybe it’s not a boss from an event. Maybe it’s just from a hidden spot no one has been able to crack yet. Like Oola’s lab for instance. The only way to get in is with the crystal that drops randomly. I cleared that area over 6 times before I was able to get in. I’m not saying it’s in Oola’s lab, but it could be in a similar place.
Really, Anet needs to give us more info this is like a bad joke that’s been on for too long.

They NEVER told us its from an event, and lets be honest… I am sure every event in this game has been done atleast once, and all the events with big chests are being done regularly.

When this game was new, i NEVER saw an event nobody did. Because people liked to do them, alot players were online etc. So therefor i dont think its an event.

I think its a hidden boss aswell. I would love some more “hints” from Anet.. Anything, riddles, anagrams ANYTHING! I absolutely love sovling things like riddles etc.

Well, just for you guys that think its related to the name and look of the staff, i found something interesting

While completing plains of ashford i found a group event (Defeat Iron longshot (Or something along those lines))

And he was placed on a little island in the water. There was an “Ascalonian crypt” on the island aswell as under the island it was ruins of a broken “castle” or something, and 2 charr explorers were standing on the main land. i talked to them and they said “We believe that island over there is the final resting place to….” and the name of a guy.. later on they said: “I swear if you go to explore over there, you will find something of worth” or something along those lines…

But again, i dont think its something to do with the staff, but hey! Maybe
