They aren’t even exclusively level80, so no: Not worth spending on.

When you buy your ascended items, get the minis… then we still get rares and a chance at exotics for just doing the daily… I’d say that’s worth it.

Even when all is said and done, there’s good stuff to look forward to.

You can dispute the logistics of any game-design topic if you really wanted to as there are multiple sides to anything. Some people like the 2-vote kick… and the ‘legendary grind’ debate is very, very tired… as someone who personally ran MC for 8 months to end up with one TF binding (until LK)… I can say that I’m happy to build towards a legendary with materials that I’d (MOSTLY) get from just….. playing the game… but if we NEED a COSMETIC item immediately… then yeah, grind away. Also, I didn’t mention much about WvW… it was actually the whole sPvP (Reknown) system that I was referencing.

None of this matters though. This is just me throwing a shout out to ANet, and the things that I’m happy about.

ROFL!! That would be a great ploy… think they’ll hire me?

I’ve just spent too much time looking for that great MMO… It all began with a PS2 and EQOA. I was (failing… at) hand drawing maps of Norrath… before wikis and reliable searches… oh.. and before /map, lol.

Just thinking back… and having each person in the game be a REAL person… that was incredible!

Hmmm… maybe I should go outside…

Always when I see this kind of lists, it reminds me of fanboy wars in console forums lol

The worst thing about GW2 is that your entire listing is correct and true. I don’t think playing another MMO again is a feasible thing. Whereas most games were WoW clones in the last decade, most future MMO games, including WoW, will increasingly become GW2 clones.

. . . there’s equally a lot of little things which bug me, or irritate me. Sad, but true.

If the major things are good, people are stuck to complaining about very minor issues. This game is playable and enjoyable. If you take the top 10 issues in GW2, they would be overshadowed by the glaring faults of other games, some of them game breaking to a major degree.

As is so often said in response to me: just because other people get it wrong worse doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong . . . but in this case, just because other games have their own problems doesn’t mean GW2’s aren’t any more legitimate.

Of course, a lot of them hinge on personal tastes and how far each person is willing to forgive certain things. There’s a fair amount of technical issues (minor and major), and a fair amount of design issues (again, minor and major and subjective all at the same time).

It becomes a thing of “how much do I want to let this bother me to distract me from what I like?”

Any game of this magnitude will have certain aspects that people won’t like or feel need adjusting/fixing. Everyone is a critic these days… and as consumers we’re driven to be just from our experiences. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just the way the world works.

For one game to do this… ALL THIS… and to do it like they did…. well… I can’t recall an MMO that accomplished so much in such a short time.

Speaking of which, I should add to the list the feature of minimal server downtime and having the ability to run two game builds at once…
Maintenance Day? What’s that?

Current Dungeon/Group System – YES… EXACTLY HOW IT IS. LFG tools destroy MMOS…. they’re nice and flashy for a bit, but team members turn from people into random drones, and those who claim to love LFG tools gear up quickly and stop playing cause a game gets boring. GW2 has a lot of personality, and I like that just fine. We have gw2lfg.com anyway… BEST SYSTEM EVER.
Dungeon Token System – Everyone wins
I’m not the tank! – Yes.. it’s funny, but true…. for the first time, I’m not the Tank… and I’m SOOOOO glad. I hate tanking, I really do… but I always get stuck doing it… that’s never fun.
Weapon & Utility Skill System
Trading Post – Best Auction House System EVER.
Legendary Weapons
Town Clothes
Account Bank
Collection
Deposit All Collectibles !!
Group/Party System
Experience from everything you do
Overflow Servers
Account Bound Items
Account Bound Dungeon Tokens x One Million Million

And there is so much more that I’m grateful for…

Features I would love to see in the future (Wishlist):
-More Mini Games/Activities!
-Board Games (two or three players can sit down in Divinity’s Reach at a table and play a game)
-Moa Racing (would love to see a ‘track’ and you can place wagers.. and watch from the grandstands with friends.. heh
-Duels (even in designated areas)
-Fishing (even if its just for a non-essential item in a collectibles tab, I love it in MMOs).
-No looting in WvW (just put it in my bags!)
-World Events that may be weekly/monthly etc (maybe not the scale of the Karka Invasion but some that repeat and are pretty epic).
-Expansion of the Home Instance to be more like HoM in GW1
-More Expansive Personal Choices (Charm, Dignity, Ferocity)
-Alliance Chat/Alliance Feature similar to GW1
-Interactive Objects (Benches, etc)
-Guild Halls

After reading comments on reviews of GW2 a lot of people have the “MMO Mindset” that has been instilled from previous games… grind grind grind to max level… and then… you get to play the game!
Guild Wars 2 takes that trash and throws it out the window. When I play an RPG or Adventure game on a console, I don’t rush to the last dungeon or castle and say “ok, now I can play”… and you don’t with GW2. You step out into Tyria.. encounter events, follow the winding road, and explore just like you would when you first picked up an adventure game on a console years ago.. see where you can go, what you can find and discover.
End-game is the same game that we’ve been playing. It’s about having fun with the world… the adventure. NOT recycling gear every 4-6 months on the typical MMO treadmill bleh to burn out after you’ve finished. My casual friends can jump in to a story or explorable dungeon… but us hardcore types can dive 30 or 40 levels deep in to a Fractal and face something more challenging as we earn Ascended gear that takes just a little bit more, but doesn’t change the game into something else.

Growing up on consoles and loving adventure games, Guild Wars 2 makes me wish I never played another MMO. Other MMOs tarnish the feeling you get from a video game. They turn it into a grind… a necessity… a second job. You should never feel that way from playing a game. A game should be fun, exciting, an adventure!

Guild Wars 2 is something really special. Something that all my MMO friends can play, and something that my family can get into…. my whole family!

Thank you ArenaNet… this is the MMO we’ve wanted for the last ten years.

After playing Guild Wars 2 for approximately six months (not including beta access), I just wanted to stop for a moment and say a big THANK YOU to ArenaNet for this amazing game.

All my life, I’ve been a gamer. That’s what I do… and since 2002 I’ve been a dedicated MMO gamer, spending countless hours trying to find the perfect game… but time and time again after getting involved in a new game and hoping that THIS GAME would be the one that my friends go to and it would be our next big thing to adventure in… horrible bugs, graphic/gameplay design, or just… a fundamental lack of attention from the creators left much to be desired.

These games weren’t bad… but didn’t have certain things that we really wanted in an MMO. My experience dives through everything… from the OCD ‘collector’ to the hardcore-endgame content… (been a server top-ranked Tank before), and a top-tier pvp canidate… to someone who just… wants to have fun exploring.

So I’d like to show my thanks by listing the things that I’m really happy about with GW2.

Level Sync – One of THE BEST features. It really speaks volumes for anyone who’s played other games and tried to do a ‘static’ with friends that level at a different pace. I’ve experienced level sync in two other mmos to some degree, and it was great when it was added in, but GW2 makes the experience awesome… I’m always challenged, and it’s always exciting. Best of all? No cumbersome UI or downtime to deal with.

Monster Claiming – The claim/loot system not only makes it easy to get involved, but saves SOOOO much time and effort fumbling to get a group together, prevent kill stealing, and messing with UI. Just jump in… why should it be any other way?

Public Events – Difficulty scaling based on participation and always engaging. Other games attempted these but when you didn’t have enough people.. most the time you couldn’t complete the event… so new players or fast levelers always got stuck in some position where there was no one around to do these.

No subscription & Gem Store – I’m not someone who minds a monthly fee for MMO’s due to server maintenance, updates, etc… but I also loathe feeling ripped off from companies that try a Free to Play model and then you’re limited… on inventory, levels, skills, etc… oh sure you can ‘rent’ these items.. but renting a bag slot? Ugh. Thanks for keeping the Gem Store Cosmetic and FUN and not pay-to-win.

Gear Levels/System – I can have tons of alts and never feel like they’re ‘falling behind’ if I don’t log in them often to ‘gear them out’

Growing, Changing, World – Karka Event? LOVE IT! Although our Lion’s Arch map still shows a bridge to the lighthouse… lol. Snowing in Lion’s Arch? FANTASTIC! The subtle things really are appreciated, I promise!

Guild Wars to Guild Wars 2 – Initially I’ve only played GW during Prophesies in 2005… but with the HoM I’ve gone back to playing quite a bit.. and it makes me smile every single time I come across something in GW that is similar in GW2. In fact, it is quite amazing the little things that are carried over like Elite skills, stacks of 250, Globs of Ectoplasm, Explorable Areas in Dungeons, Story-mode like missions, skill points, Ogden Stonehealer, and so much more. The atmosphere is similar in a very subtle way, it’s wonderful.

ArenaNet as a company You’re involved and active with the community. The forum mods are excellent, and the personal touch you provide with a large customer base is INCREDIBLE. I love that when I e-mail ArenaNet, I get a response from an ACTUAL person… thank you so, so much for this.

Account Wide-Content – Such as Achievements
Story Mode – with personal choices
Jumping Puzzles
Treasure Chest – Discovering areas off the traveled path… a world to explore!
Holiday Events
Lore – (Still waiting for Sea of Sorrows book btw!)
Clean Beautiful UI
NO Add-ons (uggh… Damage Meters… uggh.. skewed statistics).
Travel System (Fact: Flying Mounts ruin MMOs).
Crafting System – Some really intelligent people designed this crafting system. It’s smart, intricate, and makes sense. I can craft the items I want to skill up, not spam 100 greatswords.
Environment Weapons – Cowpies, LOL, These items remind me of the side-scrolling fighting games!
Achievement System
Underwater Combat System and NO breath meter. (I ALWAYS forget to come back up!)
PvP & PvE talents are separate – Actually, the whole PVP system feels like it’s own game with unlocking armor and rankings.
Daily/Monthly – Incredible rewards without it feeling tedious. I do the daily cause I WANT to, not cause I have to. YAY!
Guild Upgrades – great system cause even a smaller/active guild of just friends can unlock some awesome stuff… and all of it eventually!
Account/Character Names – No matter what character I’m on, I get the messages and tells.

Kicking on the last fractal

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Sinsko.9342

Sinsko.9342

I was kicked on the last fractal (swamp) to be replaced by a guildmate. Is this considered griefing? What can I do about it?

Edit: Let me just say that I wasn’t playing bad or causing problems. I simply got screwed over by this group.

That’s awful. I’m really sorry… it seems like most people that I encounter for Dungeons are actually really awesome – but for Fractals… people have been pretty rude…isn’t that odd?

Anyway I like being able to replace people in the fractals… the other night we had a friend in FOTM 10, but the group makeup wasn’t ideal and it caused some issues… they ended up leaving to go to bed and replaced them with another guild member and finished up the Fractal, it was a relief for all of us.

I would hate to see something like that go away…

Flamethrower Misses

Sinsko.9342

You can still hit with the flamethrower while moving, but you need to disable auto targeting and use your mouse to aim it. On one hand? It’s kind of fun, especially while farming in Orr.

On the other the damage is so kitten-poor you might as well put the barrel of the flamethrower in your mouth.

Hmmmm…. I didn’t think of trying that! I disable it for my thief typically due to the high scores I’ve been receiving from my guildies for diving off ledges… but keep it on for Ranger. I’ll check it out, thanks!

Flamethrower Misses

in Engineer

Posted by: Sinsko.9342

Sinsko.9342

I just started playing around with Flamethrower and did the Alpha Drake event just outside Lion’s Arch in Bloodtide Coast.. it took me approximately 5 minutes to solo this event compared to about a minute on my Thief or Ranger…

I then went to Lion’s Arch and was practicing attacks on the Practice Dummies… and found that I miss SOOOOOOOOO much. After some extensive testing I figured these things out, and it will probably help others who use a Flamethrower and their auto-attack ‘Flame Jet’ ability:

-For the most part, I need to be COMPLETELY stationary.
-Rotating Left or Right is ok – but you auto-face with each Flame Jet so the cone will attack as a cone will.
-Movement AFTER channeled attack begins will result in MISS for the duration of the channel.. even if its just a quick stutter step.
-Stopping just BEFORE a channeled Flame Jet begins will result in MISS for the ENTIRE channel.

The ironic thing? Elixir gun Fumigate attack which is essentially the same as the Flame Jet attack isn’t hindered by any of the restrictions that Flame Jet is. I wonder if this was done on purpose considering it’s the same type of channeled cone attack.

I did a quick search before posting here, but am going to research this a bit more… as for now, just going to stack that toughness and face-tank for Flame Jet success.

-EDIT Tested a little bit more:
Found that Flame Jet’s next cast misses after performing a dodge roll…. yikes.
Misses seem to be intermittent between hitting and missing with moving while fighting actual monsters vs practice targets.

I suppose this is nothing new… but I’m absolutely shocked that it’s like this. Is this working as intended or?

Sinsko.9342

You’re right about that, how about we limit each heart reset once per day? Or maybe reset 10 hearts of your choice per day, something like that seems a bit more balanced and unabusive.

That’s the reason I suggested resetting it with the Monthly. It would encourage exploration of other zones – not just the same zone again and again each day, plus… it’s pretty tough to do 100% completion for all of Tyria in a single month.

ArenaNet is the brains, I just would love to see something like this available… lol

Would love to have the Task (Yellow Hearts) have an option to be done again (say… Blue Hearts) after we complete a zone to 100% (or World Completion to 100%).

This could be on a decay/auto-reset with the monthly. It would definitely encourage people to go out in the world for more than just events.

Not the first time I made this suggestion… but hopefully something like this will come in to play for us with 100% characters. I’m looking forward to the Flame & Frost events that will encourage us to revisit zones.

While ArenaNet comes across as having pretty ‘strict’ guidelines, they are just involved and active, unlike ummmmm every other online company. Pretty much encouraging the players to shy away from trolls and agony that plagues pretty much any community out there.

I’m glad that you got your account back and although it took a few hoops… I understand why they do it the way they do. What is great is that even with your support ticket.. that you’re e-mailing an actual human being… not getting the canned automated responses the first 3 times to filter out people. For me, as a customer… this speaks VOLUMES!

Although I don’t always agree with the moderator warnings I seem to get on the forums (lol), I really respect ArenaNet as a company, and how engaged with their customers they actually are.

Daily achivements dead?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sinsko.9342

Crafting is ok with me – forced grouping is not. To complete the daily you have to “do combo with ally”. I am a solo player. I do not want to group. I HATE forced grouping. This is a shame. Now that I can’t get my karma potion alt leveling is over and so, I guess is my time with GW2. I did enjoy my 5 months but time to move on.

You do realize a combo field doesn’t need to be done while grouped up… pretty much every class has some kind of combo field they can drop… while you’re doing the 5 events…. drop a combo field… bam… combo kills… that simple. EASY…. requires no ‘group up’ and the kills happen almost instantly..

There are worse things to quit a game over.

Example of how to complete: Get a level 1 thief with a shortbow – go to Queensdale and hit up the first event at Shaemoor Fields, drop a Poison field with Choking Gas (#4 Shortbow Ability) and bam… combo kills….

It is not mandatory to do the Daily so I don’t see where’s the problem?

Nothing in the game is mandatory. However, if you’d like some ascended gear and you are not a crafter, for instance, then you’ll be getting your ascended gear more slowly since dailies including required crafting will exclude non-crafters.

True… and I’m not a big fan of ‘forced crafting’ – However, it’s ‘10 crafted’ not ‘10 rares crafted’ so as long as they keep it simple, I don’t mind.

If you do the daily on an 80 and have to buy the crafted mats you still come out ahead.

Last I checked Zenimax was involved on all of those games. All of them were full of bugs. Excuse me if I forgot Zenimax wasn’t onboard for Morrowind, it was only about 7 years ago that I played it last. What research am I supposed to be doing? Anything regarding that game is just speculation at this point obviously, but the trend seems to be that both Zenimax/Bethesda games are not bug free. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just a fact of life. If they pull up their pants and do it right, well then awesome, you can count me on board for giving it a shot, but I’m not holding my breath.

This is irrelevant. The project lead for ESO is the same guy who created DAOC and the first two expansions. He left the DAOC, and picked up ESO in 2007… he’s someone who knows what he’s doing when it comes to MMOs.

A game in that has been in the works for about 6 years… and has some backbone to it, I’m excited and hopeful of the possibilities.

That being said, my comment above is where I stand in regards to GW2… and the viewpoint remains the same… GW2 will happily stay installed on my PC regardless of anything else I’m playing

Sinsko.9342

I don’t think any of us has to worry about GW2 or the competition with MMOs. Being a non-subscription based game, we will all keep playing when we are able to, and check back with the events. GW2 broke the 3 Million mark…. great job ArenaNet!

I didn’t play much from Oct-Dec, but I was around for the Mad King, Karka, and Wintersday events. I also dumped in some money for the costumes and goodies, as did a lot of people.

I’m excited and hopeful for ESO and FFXIV ARR (3 years building the game from the ground up.. it looks really exciting, especially if you enjoyed FFXI or even gulp FFXIV lol). However what will cut down is my playtime of other mmos… I stopped raiding and cancelled my wow sub this month.. but still dropping a fair amount of time in to Planetside 2.

Guild Wars 2 is my “Zelda” of the MMO world, and I LOVE IT… I can jump in at anytime, and get involved, play, explore, and have an AMAZING time… follow the winding road and uncover events and discover. All at my own pace, and enjoying the content regardless of level.

As stated in the ESO preview – there are 50 levels, and at level 50 is when you can really play the game… I’m still trying to grasp the point of any MMO that restricts itself because you’re not ‘max level’ – it causes players to rush and grind… for what? Why skip content.

Make or break? Nah… this isn’t Warhammer Online, Vanguard, SWToR, or any other game that competes directly due to subscriptions. GW2 business model doesn’t reflect the competition in the traditional way.. so it’s not make or break.. cause at the end of the day, you’ll always have a happy home to log into.

Sitting

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sinsko.9342

Sinsko.9342

Alright, so as far as the title points out, why is there no “sitting” action in GW2? Don’t get me wrong, GW2 is a fantastic and amazing game, but I was a bit disappointed at the fact that we can’t sit on chairs or stools. Imo, it would have made the drinking experiences in bars of towns of GW2 more innovative and immersible.

That’s just what i think though…

How about you guys? Any thoughts in it?

GW2 does have a large community of those who RP and obviously, with all the cosmetic gear, people who really value the look of their characters.
I was really surprised when they didn’t have chairs to actually sit in when the game went live.

I think in order for this to be accomplished, all the stationary objects (chairs, barstools, etc) would have to be converted to interactive object… which could be quite the task.

As much as I love these little touches in a game (and think they are a must-have in an MMO), I don’t know how likely it is we’ll see something like this anytime soon

It’s actually nice the daily resets in the middle of the evening… if you’re at least aware of the reset time, you can complete two dailies in the same day.
This is nice if you know you’re going to be busy the next day!

As far as rewarding us for previous completion, I highly doubt it. We didn’t get jugs of karma from the previous change. Also, It gives us something new and fresh to strive for and everyone is on the same playing field.

I'd rather be fishing

I love fishing in MMOs… even if its added in as a pointless time-sink to vendor the fish… but would be even better if they added in recipes (as stated above).

I don’t know.. something about it just adds to the experience for me… I loved it in FFXI (fishing up 10,000 Moat Carps for Lu Shang’s…. we don’t talk about fight club), or even coins in Dalaran in WoW.

Just hanging out, enjoying the atmosphere and something to do instead of standing or square hopping while you chat it up in game.

I think ArenaNet could really utilize this in conjunction with our ‘collectibles’ tab have different fish in areas so we can get achievements for ‘collecting’ every fish.

Did portal zoning kill some potential?

There is A LOT more to consider than just what ‘another mmo did in 2004’ and considering how GW2 actually plays out, I think ‘Zones’ was the best approach.

But look at why it could be useful:
-The way landscape changes from area to area
-Zone Events & Zone Announcements
-Zone Level Range (GW2 is VERY mmo-noob friendly, and having the map say “1-17” is nice)
-Map Completion (POI, Task, etc)
-Ability to load up more unique content in a consolidated area
-Overflow Server Areas
-Performance for out of date systems
-Level Sync… (I don’t know what goes into this, but it’s often overlooked as something that is really clever from an MMO perspective)

Dealing with the loading screens imo is a minimal part of the game. I guess no one here is a fan of ANY Playstation console, cause the loading for that is HORRENDOUS. lol

However, when all is said and done – I’m happy with the final product and how interactive the world is, and if it took ‘zones’ to get us here, so be it, it is a BILLION TIMES better than the wretched ‘phasing’ system used by that mmo from 2004.. ugh.

Dye Drop Rate

I have a feeling a dev did comment in one of them to say no dye drops had been nerfed, but I’d have to dig through to confirm if I read that.

I’ll do some searches.. thanks!

There are so many things that need changes in this game and you complain about your anecdotal bad luck of dye drops as if it is a serious isse? I find your lack of perspective disturbing.

Who’s complaining? Stop trolling.

Dye Drop Rate

The topic comes up every week, but very few replies confirm it. So, no there is nothing going on I’m afraid. Hopefully your luck will change mind. I’ve had a run of poor dye drops in the past then all of a sudden..Abyss dropped!

I’d rather get the confirmation from someone with ArenaNet.

You’re talking statistically there isn’t enough responses… well statistics can easily be skewed based on the viewpoint. This is the first time I’ve come here, but this is also the first time in MONTHS that I’ve noticed not getting dyes… but from all my experience in fractals and explorable dungeons show otherwise.

The guild I’m in with 30+ accounts has only 2 or 3 people who EVER posted on these forums… and if they don’t come here about issues with their class, what would motivate them to do so about dye drops.

What I’m saying is just because there’s not a consistent flow of people coming HERE to post on the regular doesn’t mean they didn’t change anything.

You got a rare, but I’m not talking dye quality. I’m talking about the drop rate of unidentified dyes.

I value your input and feedback, but until ArenaNet confirms or deny it, you cannot tell me 100% without a doubt that there wasn’t a change in the drop rate.

It’s entirely luck and unfortnately you’ve been by a real stinger of bad luck. I was in Orr yesterday and 4 dropped, including 2 rares.

This topic comes up every week – some people get huge amounts of dyes, some don’t. Swings and roundabouts I guess, but no nerfs, otherwise the whole community would report the same issues and that isn’t the case.

Well with everything being RNG based, it is luck… but I cannot place such a DRASTIC change on just ‘bad luck’ – However seeing that ‘this topic comes up every week’ – there has to be something going on.

I’ll let you guys know what happens in the next 30-46 levels, lol

@Sinsko: what are those hearts in your Dye Panel on certain colours? :o

As stated- Favorite Dyes..

Just right-click a dye, and it sets it to Favorite – and it’s at the top of the screen so you can easily find the ones you like

Leveled my Charr from 15-20 yesterday and got 5 dyes. This has been the norm for me on all my characters that I’ve played since release but apparently it’s rather common for others to have issues with this (your case in point).

Wii Flag maybe?

That’s really awesome if that’s the norm for you.. I’m just floored that… 34 levels (going on 3 zones at 100%… and TWO? lol) – Maybe its just some bad luck but i don’t know.. lol

Aside from doing the Halloween, Karka Invasion, and Wintersday Events (and the occasional fractal) I haven’t spent too much time in the open world until recently.

About a week ago I made a new character, and I’m leveling at a nice, easy pace. Killing pretty much anything I encounter, doing events, and NO CRAFTING…

So starting in Queensdale, and after 100% the zone, I look in my bags and see ONE unidentified dye… I thought this to be odd considering I’d probably have about 8-12 by now.

However it wasn’t until I got my second dye that I really noticed it… I’m level 34.. LOL

What the heck happened to the dye drop rate???????

I can only assume this is to promote the sale of the “Dye Pack” for 200 Gems… but considering my main has (guessing) around 250 Dyes… it seems unlikely that one character will ever have them all with the new drop rate… let alone the lack of attention to the age old question…. Doctor Wh… I mean…. ACCOUNT WIDE DYES?

I’m sure there are other topics about this… but my point is TWO drops in 34 (NO CRAFTING) levels…. YIKES.

Can't Buy the Game

in Account & Technical Support

Sinsko.9342

So I’ve enjoyed this game since release and I love it to bits. With the promo on now I’ve decided to buy my friend a copy for xmas.

When I try buying it on two different credit cards I either get ‘credit card information is invalid’ (Whcih I’ve double triple, quadruple, etc checked). After reloading the page and turning off some add ons I tried again and now I simply get a ‘page not found’ when I click to make the purchase.

I am using firefox but have also used IE and found some issues using it as well.

Help?

I would check for spacing on the cc form in areas you may not expect… that’s about the only suggestion I can offer since the paypal purchase doesn’t allow for the discount (at this time)… although they are working on it.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/No-Paypal-44-99-Promo/first#post999511

As it is, I purchased digitally before launch, and a friend purchased a digital copy around Black Friday.

If the creditcard info is invalid, I don’t think the card is getting declined, but maybe your billing address/zip/ccv code is off. Hope this helps =/

I’m stoked that the hat is available – and to all… as it should be.

I just hope this thread shows up somewhere for ArenaNet to see and realize there are some good ways to market for new players… without making the existing customers feel cheated…

I’m back to spending my dollars at the gem store again, keep up the great work ArenaNet

Yes, I was just talking to folks about that. The PayPal situation is “a known issue” but I don’t know when it will be corrected.

Thanks for the update, I’ll keep checking back periodically… if it doesn’t go through before the end then I’ll have to conjure up a credit card… lol

Thanks!

There is a promo for this weekend (Today – 17th) that gives the Digital Deluxe Wizards Edition & $15 off on the main site.

How do we get this hat if we already own the Deluxe Edition?

Buying a new copy of GW DDE from the store will get you the hat.

No it wont, it will get the new copy of the game the hat, not your existing account.

Basically, you cannot get it.

There’s a thread thats been ongoing for a while…

I was going to the website to purchase a copy of GW2 for my sister through PayPal, however when I select “Paypal” the price goes up to $59.99.

Is this an error on the site or is Paypal not permitted for the promo?

(Had to make two separate post to show what happens when you click the Paypal option.)

Salvaging Confirmation - RAGE

GOOD GRACIOUS ALMIGHTY — for the sake of all things on this planet and the sanity of every species of crafter! Please remove the confirmation dialog or give us the option to disable the ACCEPT dialog when we wish to salvage something!

Please, please, please, please, please, please…. please.

This goes beyond simple convenience… it is almost a repetitive stress issue of ergonomics! OMG… c’mon! Thousands upon thousands of additional movements and clicks… ugh.

Please.

At least on the green items, I just don’t want to accidentally salvage a Rare/Exotic.

They could also leave the “Accept/Decline” but after clicking Accept – we wouldn’t have to find our salvage kit and activate it again.
