I had the same problem, setting my sound quality to one notch from maximum made it go away for me at least.
Have a Xonar DX as well, running the latest drivers. One time it would reliably happen is during the Claw of Jormag fight, seemed to happen almost every time.
Title says it all. I’m working towards making a fractal capacitor, however I would eventually like to use it on an alt. I simply do not have the time to grind to make it twice, so can anyone who has made the beta or final fractal capacitor comment on whether or not upgrading it via the mystic forge un-soulbinds it?
Ideally I would like to make the beta on my current character, and once I manage to scrape together another 250 ectos upgrade it to the final version and use it on my alt.
I’m pretty sure the rare materials stat affects your chances to salvage ectos.
I had some BL salvage kits that I had been using for rares from fractals, and got 1-3 ectos for every rare. There were only a few, maybe 10% tops out of 50 salvages, that dropped none.
Then I ran out, and started using a master… got one ecto total from 6 rares. Made a mystic salvage kit but there isn’t even any point… might as well just sell them on the trading post since that’s basically guaranteed an ecto per rare in terms of cost.
I had the same exact issue and deleting Local.dat resolved things entirely. Thanks!
When fixing these bugs, there is one thing I would like the developers to consider.
The main reason people take advantage of exploits (definition of an exploit aside) is because a lot of people feel that certain fractals are simply too difficult compared to others. So rather than simply just patching these bugs, I hope that you take into consideration ways to make the the dungeons more enjoyable and fair. For example fractals like Underground (Dredge) and Cliffside put groups with heavy/dps classes at a large advantage, where groups with light/medium builds have a difficult or lengthy time completing them. There is no real fractal that presents a challenge to heavy/tank groups, the only thing I would really consider is Swamp and even that is fairly easy without speed buffs as long as you watch for traps.
I don’t believe the game has an easy way to balance things depending on class, but it’s hard to deny the obvious advantages some have and I would like to see this addressed instead of simply patching bugs.
I’ve gotten disconnected plenty of times due to no fault on my own part, thankfully never during fractals. Basically the game will just boot me citing a network error and I’ll have to log on again.
I’m sure they are working on a system, and testing things takes time. Because half of the reason is probably balance and to keep people from abusing the system, I think it would be fair that if you disconnect and reconnect you spawn dead at the last checkpoint, then your team would either have to come back and res you, or wipe and start from that checkpoint. This would prevent people from abusing it and d/cing to regen health, etc, but still make things considerably less of a pain than the current system.
The problem I have with it is the massive shockwave he creates, can easily wipe a good chunk of your HP if you’re not specced for toughness/vitality, and there’s no easy tell or way to avoid it. Otherwise the bombs are pretty easy to dodge, and if your group keeps their distance and kites him to the next spot he’s pretty easy to beat, it just takes patience.
I liked the hallway of explosions… nothing like having your entire party strip down to run it to avoid massive repair costs :P
The other parts are just ridiculous though. For the torch part you basically have to have everyone clear the mobs at the same exact time because they respawn immediately after, or have an animal spawned to distract them. The part with waves is horrible because there are a lot of enemies with high HP/DMG and if you wipe during any of the waves you have to start the whole kitten thing over again. The rest was fine but there’s no way in hell I’m ever running it again.
The only thing that could make that part more perfect would be if the only way to kill it was with a holy hand grenade.
While I would love to see sales on bank or inventory tabs (would finally upgrade my characters), they’ll probably be on consumables and things that nobody really uses unless they get them from story rewards or chests.
Nope… kind of disappointing too, since it’s half the reason I chose Pirate runes over others. And on top of that, the “parrot” is really a tropical bird.
I want to be a pirate kitten ! And while you’re at it please add an eye patch skin
(On a related note pirate kittens would be awesome nonetheless.)
We really need to be able to invite people to a fractal in progress. It’s extremely frustrating when you get to something like the swamp (frustrating on it’s own) only to have one or more members rage quit and have no hope of completing it on your own.
I just finished Victory or Death in Story for the first time and all I received was an Orrian Reward Helm and 26 silver… No sign of the loot bags or other items from the wiki
EDIT: I missed the final part of the quest… it didn’t immediately show up for some reason. Got the standard loot which ended up being 3 level 80 greens… better than nothing I guess :/
