I always liked dragos flatbow in gw1 for it being that classic huge bow
Good idea, add boettiger to moderate the twitch sessions with beer bottles please
Im playing all different game modes shuffled. Like one hours continue my sylvari guardian on the hot maps, then half an hour leveling my charr revenant in his personal story then some fractals with my nekro, then some wvw with my engineer , back to my guardian collecting some more items for a precursor, dig some ores and materials , lfg cause tequatl is to arrive, etc etc.
Basically i try to keep being involved in alot different stuff to not let it be too monotone cause everything monotone gets you more to a point where you cant eat as much as you want to puke. Its for gw the same as its for work, for daily meal, for life , for everything.
i completed vb with my ranger and got all rewards.
after that i made vb with my guardian and got nothing. not even the guardian chest needed for the weapons specialization collection.
My ranger did not complete tyria world , my guardian got 100% tyria world completion.

Refund cause bugs and balancing after go Live
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I think because of all the bugs and balancing issues after go Live every HoT buyer shall get 10 dollars back. Be it in money or gems.
The players still do the job of the qa here and still report bugs which shouldnt be inside the game if we take into account that there has been enough time and also beta weekends.
Its definately not normal how many complaints and reports are swarmed all over the forums. Theres 1-2 updates almost everyday.
I think arenanet should show their players that they are indeed a fair handling close to the player company and not only when its needed in form of a twitch public relations and advertise stream.
Joking around on twitch does not delete duty towards customers.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I would have designed the specializations as “matter of the races” and design quests around them to unlock.
Every race ingame got its own beliefs.
For humans e.g. there are the gods.
For necros e.g. theres grenth.
A human necro who wants to unlock reaper needs to visit a grenth shrine which gives the player a quest with a training story.
Playing the story tells something about the new specialization, the new weapon to use and after completing the questline the new spec is unlocked. Maybe even with a handout of the new weapon type with a new skin.
This way allows for easy unlock for a player and gives room for future unlocks when more specializations arrive.
Can design that for every race.
A norn warrior can visit a shrine of the great bear and get its quest there.
A charr can visit its legion trainer and so on and so on.
This would have been a nice possibility for the designers to add some new places to each races capital city and to add content into existing maps regarding the initial gw lore.
Cant understand why the initial guildwars lore is not used properly ingame to create a good players experience.
I can understand the people who say that they dont want to play the new content to unlock new skills to be able to repeat the content with the new skills then.
Looking forward for this, i always like the halloween event , specially because this event seems to always evolve from year to year. Like whats popular keeps coming back and something new to try as well.
Keep it up
best thing a gw2 player can do is not to take care or worry about anything.
i dont make suggestions or reports to these “pay for comfort”-mmo hosters anymore.
if another game comes out with better realm vs realm id say good bye.
we have the problem with gw2 that it got not enough serious competitors for realm vs realm. its only the market that would make them move, posts on the forums they dont care about, the gemstore skin sales are there so from their sight “game is successful” “players like the game otherswise they not buy in store”.
how many times people have reported stuff and made suggestions for functions or content anet could easy create cause they can.
its not that everything is sooooo complex. they dont want to work on it.
for the AC thing:
show me one single arrow cart in the real world that can shoot in a way the gw2 acs do.
you wont find any ac irl which can just be fired infront of a wall and hit something inside the building…. the angle alone makes it impossible to hit over the wall.
i sincerely whish that community complete stops to buy on the gemstore for half year. you will be suprised how fast you see game updates flying in which fix all that crap and deliver content.
I would not take O’Brien’s comment in that interview too serious because Colin gave already the better answer before “we dont talk about…”
The f2p mmo market is a buyers market (tons of offers and the customer got the choice) and in such position you wont reveal which systems your players use most etc. to give competitors no chance to view on that for competition reasons.
Though he probably has not choosen the best way to express it in such situation like a fan interview. Still good for a laugh. Looking forward for more interviews, i like if business people get caught unprepared^^. + rep for interview.
Raised alot on wvw ranks.
Converted all my wvw tokens into alpha prints then into omega and sold them at a rate +4,5 gold per each. Nice little event for people who play with economy.
^ppl getting so fast discouraged atm because the game is not rewarding enough and on the other side doesnt offer enough competition.
if theres no challenge and no rewards people tend to find anything they somehow like and tend to build a routine around it. if they get disturbed while running that routine and they see no real advantage for themself they will complain or stop or leave. most dont try to find advantage in depth, they choose to complain until others give them a reason or advantage to do something again. its a form of created human nature because since the first day we arrive on planet earth we are introduced to the system of money, competition and comparison with others.
for example:
why shall someone reach diamond rank in wvw? cant show it to others while being in a city, dont get a emote with it to show, no ingame function comes with it. its like a rank which is just there cause the rank was made incase anet needs it maybe someday or somehow for somewhat. !!!“maybe someday or somehow for somewhat”!!!
i can still remember the time before megaserver. people where not only serverbound with wvw but also with pve.
i can still remember how the air was burning when the wurm arrived. the teamspeaks where full of people trying to make their server be the first to kill that wurm. these where days of competition. it was like olympics or some sort of world championship going on. everyone peeked at others, rumors, news spread, strategies where made, fighting in the field, people hold together for their server to win that race. “have you heared today deso got 2 wurm heads chopped off? we try tomorrow again gogogo”
it was so kitten catching and fun that it even didnt matter for long to not have “won the unofficial championship”
now since we have the mega server that is completely gone! the possibility of server competition without need of pvp was taken away from community.
every server had its own style, character, its own mentality. people have choosen their server after mentality not “where is the biggest wvw blob on”.
alot people have put alot work into their server, made own websites which showed others the mentality of their server, put heartblood into that, build friendships with each others and all that cause they where the server and the server was them.
loot was a important topic but not the topic #1 and the gemstore was there but not the most active system ingame.
so as you see, people attended in some sort of pvp – it was just not by using ingame game mechanics of pvp it was pvp in terms of using pve mechanics for competition.
we are now guild wars 2 without wars, without competition, without fire in the air.
give the game a ingame system which is only open for like 1 month every year in autumn. for the rest of the year it cant be entered, while it is open the servers are in competition for the win. make it a pve competition where people need to reach different goals on time, points, play different games inside the competition and such and make it an official gw2 pve server championship you will see people get something they look forward to every year cause they cant play that system 24/7. they will work again together to prepare for that.
that competion rewards then the best servers as well as the best guilds within that competition as well as the best single players.
imagine a chart after the competition with all sorts of statictics (yes alot of us like numbers and charts and that) “most damage dealt (player) – player xyz – from guild xyz from server xyz.” that for all kind of actions like most heals, most points gotten, etc etc. a possibility to check after who are the best at it. reward them with something else than just green items….
for the players who are maybe not individually at the top ranks of single player they get a reward cause they played for their server.
its time for “Hoelbrak’s Challenge of Tyria”
do the same for wvw just put the wvw competition in a different time of the year like in spring. "all eyes on wvw atm " “all eyes on our fellows fighting in pve now”
how many times does anet want to rebuild the NPE??? get away from that gw2 never ending construction yard.
reward players and build future systems more open for choices within the systems.
updates and changes must be about and involve the tyria again.
The living world was once a free of charge update series with story and events. Then community itself raised unconfidence and wanted to have an addon instead. Now the usual feature patches and living world updates are put into a expansion and are charged off^^
They want to be cashed off for it? Thanks god its summertime
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: SlateSloan.3654
I won’t buy HoT at all.
Community asked for a addon but all I see so far is that the usual feature release content as well as living story content gets packed as “addon” and charged off.
anet products are not a guarantee for fun anymore so the included content must be way higher to make me buy it for the prices given at the moment.
Furthermore I find it sad that the company which once worked for its players has choosen to make use of cheap NLP, social engineering and speech tricks instead.
no support for that anymore. entrepreneurs and politicians shall be taken more into their duty to take action again. in the world we are living the only action we as customers can take to change things is not to pay for being talked away.
anet can convince me otherwise ofc. but not with talking – by taking action.
if you plan to run 2 gaming pcs at a time raises the question for me if it might be just cheaper regarding power usage and save time to buy gems and convert them to gold.
how long you plan to farm each week , bow much loot will you gain in that time and how much loot do you need at all? what does it cost to run the pcs during that time?
Proposal Overview
Possibility to fully personalize and decorate
Goal of Proposal
Give Players a wide variety to design, decorate and personalize a guild hall in realation to one’s guild mentality and the way a guild would seperate itself from othters. (No Guild Hall looks like one other)
Give Arenanet new possibility of item market
Give Arenanet new possibility of ingame content creation to let player play for
Proposal Functionality
The current design of GW2 would need some changes regarding of how players handle items in the world as well as can use items for different purposes.
In GW1 it was possible for instance to drop items on the floor to show them to others or to let them be picked up by others.
In GW2 its not possible to lay any items in world like e.g. a book on a table.
It would be neccesary to alter this. Every Item ingame would need to have a 3d model so the item would be recogniseable when put on the ground, on a furniture, on the wall etc. It would be necessary as well to change the current system so players can again lay items anywhere.
This woud allow players to have full control of which items are inside a guild hall, where they are positioned, e.g. a guardian guild could collect greatswords and hang them all on the wall etc. Fans of Books and shelfs could collect ingame books and build a library with them.
This could lead us to the possibility of new ingame achievements for guilds, etc. (not to determain yet cause different topic)
Associated Risks
- Players could argue because someone else picks up a items from the ground. (This was in GW1 the case but who gives control of an item out of hands is self resposible for that and players often tell tat they are bored anyway)
This “risk” could lead us to a new possibility of ingame content like “lootable pvp” areas where rare ores , wood, etc can be farmed but its dangerous to go there. Not to determain here cause different topic)
Server Load / Peformance – to be estimated by it department. (There could always be an Item Limit for certain areas to lay in the open world or Building)
- Guild lose control of who belongs what – self responsibility of one guild to catalogue who donated what item or who chipped in gold to buy it and these and those
- Guilds could be robbed by intruders who join a guild to rob items. The Guild System needs an option so a guild leader can assign rights regarding which member can alter the position of one item inside the hall, who can pick an drop what etc.
- Someone leaving a guild could not get his items back and be robed by the guild. – Self responsibility to decide what to put nto the guild hall and in what guild.
All in all – the risk of being robbed could also be lowered by a system that players get a function like a button ingame to summon all their soulbound or account bound items back into their inventory. so guilds could agree of only dropping bound items into the hall. if they drop unsignatured items then rule of self responsibility takes places.
welcome leah,
what is your personal opinion about the currenty personal story , its content, its gameplay, its main characters (trahearne etc.) ?
will you continue where its currently ending?
do you have plans to complete remove it to start your own story the way you would create it?
greets,
Slate
current situation is not actually that there are people for whom the game is not made.
its more the situation that community is not really aware of its power like always.
there is no need for anet to move if the gemstore is profitable and players let themselves be farmed off each week.
stop to buy gems and you see content develope. maybe even an addon sooner than later.
why blow creative ideas now into the game if the dollar runs without bowing ideas?
that got to do with lifecycle of a product since gw2 is an commercial entertainment product and anet a company.
so if people want the game change again simply stop feeding the gemstore.
fish stinks from the head first and most the time stinks like money stinks.
the game is for everyone. influence it with awareness and behaviour.
i like the living world.
specially the movement and changes with kessex hills and tower.
has been my favourite event chain so far specially because players could just open enter it and all have a go. i found the fights through the tower very dynamic.
hordes of quite tough enemies made the fights inside the tower fast and champions held the group up then. very good mix, can just say i liked to play the tower alot.
the changes the event brought to kessex are for me excellent. everyone stepping into kessex can ask “why is there so much waste around the lake?” “thats because we fought and destroyed the tower here”. great!
the only thing i dislike with the living story is that the world within tyria is not moving with the story enough.
if the capital city gets destroyed in war i would assume that all races on tyria are on shock and get into movement.
like a capital city destroyed means people living inside the city need now e.g. food supply. we have the corn fields in gandarra fields and this is just outside the city.
in such war scenario i want to see the norns going wild to help lions arch get food supply, by building a huge windmill and bread bakery to help feed lions arch people which build the city now up for month maybe years…
the new norn buidings could then lead to more people move there from time to time and a new city evolves because more traders and blacksmith etc. move in there. a new craftsmen junction evolves. players get events to bring supply to lions arch and all that then. in the future this could lead to an annual event connected to the evolution of tyria. like a annual “hoelbrak’s celebration of the windmill” with huge norn events for players like axe throwing contests and all that medevial stuff. huge place in the iddle with wooden tables where players can actually sit togehter. like a player arriving in this place can see a guild of 30 people already sitting at those huge table rows. such evens i’d prefer instead of events connected to real world halloween or such. this i would expect from an online mmo with a living story.
while that happens and starts to create itself we see huge discussions between the people of lionsarch. i mean its destroyed by war so people are to resettle and their opinion should diverse into different directions. some think the city must be build up again, some believe its better to move away cause it could be attacked in future again, etc.
maybe even players can make decisions within a political system inside the game how the story gets on or he story evolves with different options players can speculate about what happens next. people bulding lions arch build it but some went away so lions arch will be build up again but not be the capital anymore because the people which moved away build something better for the position as capital city. all kind of that…
it cannot be that something huge happens and some places are in business as usual.
overall i want to have more happening inside the world at all. at the moment the issue with arenanet (as far i as a player can see) seems to be that there are a lot of ideas. :/ ???
on server IP 206.127.159.236:0 riverside is currently playing on kodasch borderlands and the game is freezing and people get disconnected and land on character selection screen then. seems not to happen to all though some keep ingame.
last time happened ~ 23:50 UTC+1
we where fighting zerg vs zerg when the character stops to react on skillbar commands and people count down on teamspeak until drop off to character selecton screen.
i cant say that there is any lag which announces the drop off. it suddenly happens for me but then completely.
happened twice now within ~45 minutes.
huge lag i experienced yesterday (Friday at around 18:00-19:00 UTC + 1) when a part of german community went to do the worm event in bloodtide coast. the lag appeared for the people at amber wurm only. the groups of the other 2 wurms could not acknowledge the lag attacks.
at amber wurm though the people responsible to apply conditions onto the husks reported that they could not apply any conditions properly as the husks teleported around due to lag and the run failed.
i keep having a look at the wvw borderlands now,
EDIT:
09-21-2014 00:37 utc+1 again the wvw sudden lag and drop off.
error code is: Code=7:11:3:191:101 (screenshot of error code in attachment)
