In my opinion: this game is simply not addictive

I love that there is always something to do. I think the problem is people running from fight to fight. The NPC’s are supposed to be allowed to “play out the scene”.

My bf and I started our Norns the other day and we were at the snowball fight. As soon as it was over he’s like “ok, let’s go..why are we just standing here?” I was like “wait, look at what he’s doing with that Dolyak we just gave him!” Bf still wasn’t getting it. Few minutes later we got to the part of the bears swarming (there was a lot of content between those two things happening too!).

For the love of giving the game a chance, I wish people would slow down and enjoy Tyria.

Oh the bear mama crushed me. I also have a Sylvari at the moment I need to reroll because she has the storyline of the White Stag. I’d like to know why the kitten she gave them the stag when she helped them to catch it? What the kitten are they going to do with it?! I don’t even want to know. She shouldn’t have hunted it down like that and then handed it over. My other Sylvari doesn’t have that storyline. >.<

On the fly Roleplaying! And why its fun.

My boyfriend and I do this all the time. I tend to “fall” off of cliffs fairly frequently. I can’t judge the heights very well sometimes. We also like to pick fights with each other occasionally too. lol (but in character!)

Because people love the treasure hunt.

THIS. This fits my playstyle exactly. I like to explore and treasure hunt. I kill everything indiscriminately just so I can see what it drops. I’ve gotten killed umpteen times (don’t mind it anymore), I have horrible collections of mats, and I find it disappointing when I put so much effort into killing something BIG and I get nada. The explorer in me kicks in and I just move on. There’s always something else new and big to kill, but… if I never find any treasure by the end of this game…I really hope that isn’t the case!

My highest level character is only 26. Hopefully, there is still a long way to go.

Tired of people claiming DEs have no story

It’s frustrating me to see people missing the “big” story. My bf is one of the ones that likes to click click click through texts. I’ve even caught him clicking through the cut scenes in his own instance storyline. I had to tell him that -I- want to see it so please don’t click through it!

I like to think that when I’m not playing, the npc’s are living in their own little world, doing their own things. It doesn’t seem like they have free will (not like Sims), but, it’s a scripted story that they have no choice but to live out.

I realize I don’t start out as a HERO (which some people that click click don’t understand), I have to earn that title. Isn’t that what the game is about? You’re building a hero from the ground up?

You need to interact with the cannon (in the front). I realize ppl don’t like spoilers, but you did warn in the title. lol This worked for us only a couple of hours ago.

Why is the cannon disabled that launches you in dissea

Spoiler alert…..the cannon itself is working just fine! Although, I’d have to agree, not actually getting to see my bf (arms and legs flailing) flying thru the air was a tad of a let down. Was still hilarious anyway though.

We found the cow catapult tonight. I haven’t laughed as hard as I did since watching Hangover. Actually, we did that event twice before we figured it out and that Charr had me cracking up!

Could you go back to a "standard" MMO?

You know what I don’t miss? Like 100% never-looking-back killstealing! OMG it’s the worst feeling to be killing something for 3-4 minutes, using pots (that’s another thing I don’t miss one bit!), replenishing magic (with MORE pots!), and someone comes along and gets the last few hits! UGH! Then, you have to compete with higher leveled players powerleveling low level noobs and clearing whole maps!

I love this game. Everything about it. Anything that might confuse me, or make me wonder “why’d they do that like that?”, I figure will eventually be worked out.

Every day I play this I’m so thankful I bought it, and a new pc to play it on. It’s so much less stressful than the last 2 MMO’s I was playing.

Speaking about servers, is your server friendly and helpful?

I’m in the US, do I have to chose a US server though? I’m heavily considering Gunnar’s Hold.

I used to play another game (idk if I’m allowed to say the name of other games here, I know some people do, but I play a different MMO that disallows it entirely) that had almost no chat at all. I hated it. Most people spoke in regular chat, but you had to pay for “shouts” that carried across the map and there was literally no regular chat (except “playful” bantering, which I find kinda annoying sometimes).

I really like it when people ask questions all the time. Even if I don’t know the answer I can learn from it so that later on, I don’t have to ask it myself. I do hope more people reply to this. lol

I’m looking for a friendly server. One that has lots of people that are helpful and don’t mind taking a second to throw out an answer to questions now an then. I don’t see how I can ask a really easy question (like, “how do I open up more bank slots?” after 15 minutes the answer given was “check the store, it costs gems or 1.6g”. I finally checked the wiki pages and it is NOT in the store, it’s a freaking lock IN the bank tab). It literally left me shocked that someone couldn’t have just said “check your bank tab for the lock”.

If I can stop for half a second and answer a question someone might have, maybe my helpfulness would be better suited for another server that has people of like minded helpfulness. Please tell me there are friendly servers out there (and which one!). Thank you!

I Wish Vistas Were Not Needed for Zone Completion

This is a long thread of blathering on about “it’s to difficult”, “it shouldn’t be needed”, “it takes to long”. Not one person mentioned the amazing ART work that someone (more than 1 someone) put into making the cut scenes for those vistas.

Personally, I think they’re amazing. The difficulty level should mimic the amount of time that went into creating the beautiful vistas that they’re showing us.

I don’t know how anyone can even write out “they should be removed from map completion”. Sorry artwork people, no one cares about your beautiful art here! /end sarcasm -.-"

Logging into account on different computer

I have both a pc and a laptop. I play on my account on the pc and my bf plays on his account on the laptop. What I would like to know, is it okay for him to occasionally log into his account on the pc to play solo? The laptop is kind of uncomfortable to play on all the time (I don’t use it at all because I can’t stand the keyboard!).

The Little Details. Simply Amazing

I love the standing animation too! I also tend to rubber-neck when I’m running through places. I noticed that my character’s head turns, not just the way that my camera is facing (sometimes I run sideways while craning my view upwards) but if I run past anything I have clicked on she stays looking at it.

I love how the NPC’s were having a conversation in Lion’s Arch tonight about the sewer system, and then 10 minutes later we found a deep hole within them that went no where really, but the detail under the water with the broken up ships…just beautiful.

Also, another thank you to the Norn that helped us to find the sewer for that POI and Karma seller.

I sure hope someone puts an answer to this question, because it’s confusing the heck out of me too. I even tried to make simple armors thinking that they get combined that way too….but I’ve never played this type of game before and I’m trying to not look things up online. (Aside from these helpfully amazing forums that is).
