Transmutation charges - free?

in Players Helping Players

So, I had completed Brisban Wildlands (I think) in the past but noticed I was missing 1 POI and 1 waypoint. I just went to get them and it said I completed the map but I didn’t get any new charge (or that unidentified dye).

Is that because I had previously completed it? (I’m assuming those were added after I had completed it because those were the only ones missing).

Once a skin is unlocked, it is permanently located in the wardrobe. Using the wardrobe, you can apply unlocked skins to a worn piece of equipment at the cost of 1 transmutation charge. Skins, as an item type, also still exist, which can be applied directly and at no cost. The horns were originally a skin, which you may have used, otherwise you must have either used the wardrobe or maybe equipped a different item. Assuming you changed the skin, you’re going to have to use the wardrobe to apply the skin you want. Transmutation charges can be obtained through map completion, by doing any of the cities.

If you have older transmutation charges stashed away, back when they were items, you can also use them to convert them to the newer transmutation charges.

I think I love you…

I hadn’t looked in the wardrobe to see if that hood was there. I had no idea. It’s in there though!

I also didn’t think to look to see if I had any of the older ones stashed away. I had 30!!!

Have a great day. <3 Thank you so much.

I’m going to try to make sense but honestly, I’m kind of confused.

Before the update that led to the wardrobe in April 2014 I had taken a couple month break from GW2. When the update came I decided (like I do every few months) to come check out what had been added on my thief.

Now, I don’t know if anyone remembers when the wardrobe was first added…but I think that everyone was given like 1 free transmutation charge? As I was looking around at everything (which seems very overwhelming even now when I log in because nothing looks at all like it used to), I accidentally clicked something and my hood…disappeared.

What I was left with, was the devil horns that were in my inventory at that moment. I worked kitten hard on that character to get her the way I had wanted her to look. Like, really hard. She was my solo character and I had put way more effort into that character than I had any character in any game before (or even after to be honest).

I was so floored that I had done something I didn’t even understand in the blink of an eye and literally see no way out of…that I haven’t given GW2 any playtime (even though I would like to start playing again). So now what do I do? How do I get her hood back?

If anyone has read through this, thank you. If you have any solutions, I would love to hear them. Thank you for your time.

First image is how she should look…second is now how she currently looks.

Eir: my opinion of her has changed - disappointed

It’s funny to me when someone says “..no offense..” and then becomes offensive. For the record here, I said she was a “crappy” mom not a “terrible” one. Obviously there might be a legitimate reason for her departure that we haven’t been given the story on. I believe I followed up my post with a reply that said something along the lines of hopefully seeing some retribution on Eir’s side.

I forgot how unfriendly this place was. I’ll stop posting now, thanks for reminding me guys.

Oh geesh, here we go again. This is just as bad as the thread that flipped out….

Please, take no offense to my post, but your post shows a stretch of the imagination in linking the unlinkable…..

First off….I’m not “flipping out”…so calm yourself down a bit.

Secondly…how is a mother abandoning her son to pursue her own agenda NOT linkable to a day that moms are usually celebrated on?

I realize that this story line has been building ever since Brahm was first introduced but I’m sure that they knew this installment was going to be released at the beginning of May.

I’m hoping that there will be some sappy reunite and Eir honestly tries to make amends with her son. She did miss out on his entire upbringing (though, he does have a great heart for a kid that lost both of his parents at such a young age).

Braham and Rox - I like one of them...

in Living World

Posted by: Solbrio.1902

Solbrio.1902

Other then the utterly horrid decision to make Rox’ eyes gigantic, I vastly preferred Rox to Braham. She’s confident, stays on task, and doesn’t give away all her life’s story, unlike Braham. Sure, she’s standard, but she’s a fun standard.

Meanwhile, Braham’s a cliche – by the time we’ve finished his instance, we know where he’s from, who he’s in love with, and what his ambitions are. And he keeps breaking up clustered enemies with his dang shield skill. And his hair piece is like a topee. And WHY is his concept art the wrong ethnicity, incidentally?

At the bottom of it all, the most important issue is the combat dynamics. Rox stays out of the way and helps. Braham breaks up aoe, and has no noticeable DPM. The instances they are in further heighten this problem – in Rox’, they come in in groups of 3, close together and you can wiped them out as they come. In Braham’s, enemies dribble in from far apart spawn points which allow them to disperse in addition to Brahams help in that regard.

TLDR: Rox stays professional and is helpful, Braham whines and is actively a hindrance.

Brahm revived me several times. He was pretty helpful in our instance.

As a mom (and I’m guessing I’m probably in the minority here), just wanted to say that I’m a little bummed you guys would roll out a story line about Eir being a crappy mom just a couple of weeks before Mother’s day. Yes, I realize that Mother’s day isn’t a holiday in Tyria….but if it was…I would give Brahm a freaking hug.

Why do people link their drops?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Solbrio.1902

Solbrio.1902

I like to link unique (to me anyway) looking rares and exotics because of the randomness and the fact that the TP is still not preview-able. Never know when someone links something that they’ve never seen before but might like for themselves and it was linked by someone getting it randomly.

I found a rare staff the other night that had two floating feathers at the top. Never saw that before so I linked it. I ended up salvaging it, but it still looked cool.

I guess part of me would feel badly if I didn’t at least share the look of the item at least with someone before I deleted it from existence.

This whole thread ticks me off. I’m learning how the mechanics of WvWvW works. As are, I’m sure, quite a lot of other people. If your first instinct is to insult and condemn people for doing something like this (possibly the people the op was referring to actually knew what it was they were doing) well, let’s just say no one better call ME any names in game for making a mistake or two.

You guys really need to lighten the heck up. If you want your server to work together to accomplish more, then be prepared to explain how things work to the new people. Otherwise, you’ll just drive them away and defeat yourself.

I’m fairly new to pvp (haven’t really liked it in the past) but this WvWvW is surprisingly the most fun I’ve ever had. I play a level 80 thief in DR and I tend to either spy, stalk, or run like a nutcase straight into the fray to cause havoc and distraction.

The only thing I wish is that people didn’t take this so seriously and just had fun while working together. Anyway, that’s the times when I have the most fun.

Solbrio.1902

Several points I’d like to make regarding my opinion on this. For one, I think this came entirely to close to the the end of the Halloween event. I spent a lot of time playing the heck out of the Halloween event and I loved it. Granted, I got lots of loot (no exotics), a cool back piece, and didn’t spend a dime (I would have if I had the money though).

This current event though seems convoluted and I’ve been reading how the NPC’s are all buggy. I also don’t really know what rewards are available at the end of it all (so maybe it IS worth it, but idk).

The only thing that seems most interesting is this new dungeon. I’ll admit, I don’t really do dungeons (I’m not the best player honestly, I still use my keyboard + my mouse to click skills) so they are usually to difficult for me.

Is there anyone else that isn’t really doing anything with this event? Also, is there anything in particular that you can advise me that I should NOT miss out on before it’s all gone? Thanks.

Thought about switching to warrior, but it just doesn’t feel right thematically. Really, I wanted to be a dual sword wielding evasion based ninja-thing, but settled on offhanding a dagger since thief can’t dual-weild swords for some inexplicable reason.

I might go try mesmer if I can get over all the… butterflies. I’ll probably just quit playing though, and maybe poke my head in again next patch to see if things sound better or not. I know that sounds terribly QQ, but thief was my main character, I’m finding him boring to play, and I’m not that terribly invested in this game to begin with.

I roll a bunch of different professions with my bf, but my main solo (level 80) character is a thief. I only pve with it and I’ve never been in a dungeon (yet). I know I’m not a “normal” player, but I agree with you. All the nerfing prior to this never really bothered me…but now…it’s a kitten taking aggro when you’re solo and running for your life and need to throw out a couple daggers to slow down + do decent damage for survivability.

I did just get S3 Seasons though….

I just can’t get over that you think skirt = stripper. Most of the skirts (after the starter set) are longer and/or have tights/leggings that go along with them. You seem pretty uptight…it’s not real…so just stop tilting the camera up the skirt to actually “see” what’s up there?

Guess I’m totally in the minority here, because I think the prices for waypoints @ level 80 are fine. When I sell a -20 drop and get 20c for it, then yes, waypoints should cost less than 20c.

When I sell a level 70+ drop and gain 2+s for it, then the waypoint should reflect that increase.

Anyone stating otherwise is trying to “game” the system.

What's the point of groups?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Solbrio.1902

Solbrio.1902

Okay, these are all good points, but in my example I’m really referring to random people that are just running around the map doing events and whatnot. We’re not in the same guild. We haven’t spoken to each other at all (random strangers).

In another game I played, the quest would be “go kill x amount of this mob” and when we got to the spot of those mobs it would make sense to group up (or be killstealed or loot looted). Plus, like you said Edge, as a healer I would want to see health and status, but in GW2…I’m not a healer. My skills affect everyone within my range. I specifically cast those spells while in the middle of as many ppl as possible to maximize effect.

So…I guess I still don’t see a good reason to just randomly pick up strangers in our duo party. It seems it would be a hindrance. Which bothers me a little, but not 100%, because I meet more people when I solo, but I don’t necessarily need to meet people when I’m duo with my bf.

Guess that’s a drawback to removing the “trinity” system. Not enough party incentive it seems.

Leaving me in the middle of a sentence and needing to stop typing to kill it off of me. Meanwhile, Asura keeps walking down the road humming the whole time. What a fella’.

What's the point of groups?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Solbrio.1902

Solbrio.1902

Other than things like dungeons of course. My bf and I duo and someone kept asking to join our party (actually, spamming the invite). I let the person in..but I didn’t see the point because we tend to jump around the map a lot. We sit in the same room on separate computers so…communicating in-game while pve and story mode just slows us way down. lol

I’m just wondering, is there an added benefit to actually picking up another random person to our “group”? With the trinity not needed anymore…we don’t need a tank or a healer, so what’s the point?

Just to spell it out all nice and clear for the ones here that are telling me to “get over it”. I’m talking about racist remarks, references to genitalia….profanity does NOT offend me. Those other “topics” however, DO. They are not appropriate for a game’s public chat.

In my opinion, the only reason anyone would say those types of things in a public chat is for attention, and to start these kinds of arguments. It’s common sense that there will be people that do not appreciate reading those things.

To reiterate again, we all agreed to #1, #3, #4 http://www.guildwars.com/support/legal/rulesofconduct.php when we purchased and logged into this. So for however much you tell me to use the chat filter, it still is reportable and punishable.

When I realized I was salvaging to much I began checking TP and vendors and now I salvage/npc about 50/50. My highest level character is like 32 and I have a little over 1g.

What do you think? Is it “noob” or stupid to work every craft?
