I agree this should be changed. An official response would be nice if this is a bug or not.
Really?!?! It’s a LEGENDARY bow, why doesn’t it look LEGENDARY?!
Incredible letdown if you ask me. Yes it shoots rainbows, but Kudzu (Which is a two-handed bow too) has special particle effects on shot AND footprints… Why doesn’t The Dreamer have like rainbow footprints?? Or is this just a bug? Very disappointed, I think if all two handed weapons have a footprint effect, The Dreamer certainly deserves one too, I mean it’s the same effort as any other two-handed legendary.
I’ll be short. I’ve completed Arah story mode weeks ago, and I’ve just gotten to my story quest that says “Kill Zhaitan”… Do I seriously have to redo Arah SM again?!
yeah, I’m not sure if we’re gonna see the halloween event this halloween, but I’m 99% sure that we’ll be seeing a Christmas/NYE event
It seems as if the chance of getting an exotic item when reforging rare weapons above lvl75 have a higher chance to fail since the last patch
I am having more and more problems with making progress on my character mainly because of timezones, partially because of guilds on my server…
I play on the European region but most of the time I can only start playing late in the evening. Most of the time from 8PM, and my problem is that on EU servers, population dies out fast after 11PM. This causes me problems because
1: people aren’t available for group events, and
2: people aren’t available for dungeon runs.
And for the guilds, I can’t really find a guild on my server who actively do karma events and such. Dungeon runs yes, but karma no. It would help tons if I could guest to another server where this thing is actually available. (and to the NA servers during the midnight)
(I know server transfer is still free, but I don’t know for how long, and also the 24h lock is a hassle for me.) Is there any hope to see this feature soon? The game’s honestly getting boring the way it is now since most of the times I find myself jumping around LA or various zones trying to find teams in the midnight.
well, I say Carrion or Rampager is the only option. Rampager has no defense and less condition damage but has pow and precision too. Probably should go with Carrion btw. And yes they are pure LW crafted gear.
Also the Twilight Arbor set has some nice condition damage stats, along with the great runes.

giving 1200 range to thief shortbow will make it more op

My personal experience in dungeons…
The max 25 bleed limit is reached very quickly. This obviously depends on how your groupmates are spec’d, but when pugging, do you really want your major source of damage to be hamstrung?
I went a mix of berserkers gear and valkyrie. I still use death blossom for groups, i still drop caltrops for certain encounters. Going direct damage doesn’t mean you can’t use your conditions….
And direct damage is never blunted by your teammates builds.
So it is true that instead of everyone’s bleed ticking at 25, it just shut’s out any bleeding that someone wants to apply when the stacks are at 25?
I agree that the range should be upped to 1200, I’ve thinking about this for days and I can’t come up with a logical conclusion why we’re locked to only 900! It’s insane.
Indeed, Mystic Clovers should be either removed from the recipe, or drastically reduced. It requires too much to obtain on top of being luck based and just results on more grinding on top of the precursor being luck based…
Which one is the way to go?! 2 weeks ago I saw people saying that condition was the way to go, now I see people saying that the Thief doesn’t have enough ways to apply conditions (as D/D) to be worth it to go with condition damage. That, and I see people saying that the Berserker set (pow+prec+critdmg) is better than the Carrion one (pow+vit+cond), and so on. I’m confused now, which one is better?? (for PvE and WvW)
I know it’s build dependant too but that included which one is the way to go? (also what about defensive stats? do we need any?)
My experience just in both general playing and actively farming, has been to see a noticable loot drop off after roughly 30 mins. Although that could be due to playing a glass cannon thief and average killing a mob in less than 3-4 secs. However this timer seems to be as low as 15 mins or so on the defend DEs in Cursed Shore, if I am spamming explosive arrow to tag a many mobs as possible, (often 8-12 mobs per wave).
same thing here. I’ve made a similar post pointing out how bad the game punishes you for killing a lot of things for an hour (mainly I pointed our how bad the drops and droprates are after half an hour in Orr (WHILE MOVING AROUND THE MAP). And yes I am a thief too, and I did notice the 30 minute “timer” on the code.
How long did it take you to do the circuit? And did you stop to kill other mobs/harvest?
Never really checked how long it takes. I don’t stop for other mobs, but I do stop to harvest most of the times.
I was in Orr for hours last night, Cursed Shore, did many events, never had diminishing returns.
It would help if you gave us more data. Like which events you were doing, in what order, over what period of time, etc, etc.
Like, are you roaming all over the zone, doing events as you come across them? Or are you camping the penitent path, doing the same 1-2 events over and over and over?
Not a judgment, but it would be good to know what exactly it is you’re doing.
Okay, here’s my route:
1: start at Shadowfain
2: run through Fields of gold to R&D waypoint
3: run to Gavbeorn’s Landing (optional)
4: go to Pentient Path
5: Shelter’s Gate
6: Jofast
Then I either do it in reverse order, or I either run back to Shadowfain and repeat. Yes, I do all events I come across this route.
No, they said it was a bug that people who were moving between DEs were still having DRs kicking in. The system will ONLY reduce your loot if you do the same DEs over and over…
this isn’t about the DE… It’s that eventhough you run multiple DEs in Orr, your loot WILL be reduced more and more after half an hour of killing undead…
You arent supposed to farm. Anything you need is easy to craft or cheap on the TP.
Please tell me how I can craft or buy the 0.5-1 million karma that I need to craft my legendary… (which i can only do on ONE character since karma isn’t account-wide…)

I really hope they plan on doing it sooner, as this is an issue that honestly makes me want to leave and play another game. Breaking my cycle of action every hour, is just… no.
okay it seems to have come back after another hour, not sure what this glitch was, never happened. BUT I do get disconnected in LA pretty often for no apparent reason
How is that even possible?
So I was minding my own business in the LA bank, and suddenly the game threw me on a black screen and gave me an error message about my client losing connection to the main server. So I alt+f4 out and ever since that, when I try to login on the client it says that the log-in server is unavailable. It has been like this for an hour now.
I think the code is in place to discourage sitting in one area constantly, turning other areas into ghost towns eventually, yeah it’s annoying to some but it forces you do switch it up so at least there’s less monotony.
but I enjoy sitting in one place constantly and getting work done. It’s not like I’m gaining an advantage economically on anyone by doing so, so why punish me like that?

I facepalmed when I first saw this stat on the live build of the game. Why would you even put this in a game? It’s clear that everyone’s gonna take it instead of the stats that they should be taking. I’m very disappointed, Anet.
EDIT: A forum mod has changed the title and now it’s misleading, let me clarify… I am NOT FARMING items. I am doing EVENTS for about an hour IN ORR and the point is DROPS, LOOT is more and more less after half an hour. Currently it’s not the event cap that is causing the problem, it’s the DROP cap.

I haven’t gotten to play GW2 this week up until today. So I finally log on to farm me some karma in Orr. After one hour I notice I’m barely getting loot. I’m lucky if I get 1 white salvage item out of 10 undead killed.
So I ask… Why am I, a faithful player of the game being punished because of bots? Can I not play the game without being forced to leave what I’m doing every hour?
EDIT2: After further inspection, I’ve noticed how severe this cap is being enforced… The first 30 minutes of doing events in Orr: Every ~3rd mob killed drops loot, you regularly get blue and green gear+weaps, 1-2 rare items, and rarely even a l80 Exotic. (with 50% MF, I have to add)
between 30 minutes – 1 hour of doing events in Orr: every ~8th mob killed drops loot, almost always some grey/white item, no blues and above.
I haven’t checked above 1 hour, I don’t want to waste even more time because of this.

It’s really not that big of a problem. Heavy Heartseeker spam might be fine for quick matches but it’s best left as an execute. You’ll still have plenty of functionality with the skill. This change merely reigns in the mindless spamming a bit.
It might be that but you should be able to generally manage, particularly if you work build around Stealth for PvE. Deadly Arts and Shadow Arts (with some Trickery) will become your spec trees. Which isn’t much of a shift from what you’re probably focused on already. You might just rearrange to make Blossom a bit more effective or to give you better backstabs. Use that as your damage dealer and then when the target hits the right threshold, use HS.
Or…something like that anyway.
That’s basically what I’ve been doing up ‘till now. It’s pretty much gonna be the same, only since the threshold has been lowered I can’t transition into HSing as fast as I earlier did. Which again I’m pretty sure wasn’t the intention, because as far as I know the issue with HS was PvP related. And to me this change seems to effect PvE more than PvP. So if anyone could prove I’m wrong?

this is exactly what I see too. to me it just seems like a blow to PvE dagger thieves DPS, which I’m sure wasn’t the intention.
Cause the way I think of it, it seems like they’ve only pidgenholed PvE thieves into even mode Death Blossom spam. So exciting, why not just remove the skill so I only get to spam DB?
I don’t see how this is such a major blow to PvP thieves honestly.
I think that is still the case. It sucks to finish your epic story at level 80 and get level 20 blue gear, and I’m sure when they fix this (if they ever get to it, or if it is indeed a bug) those of us who got crap loot won’t get anything back.
I’d recommend not to finish the story until they at least acknowledge it for your own sake.

I’ve been holding off on completing my personal story, since a lot of people said that the exotic loot bags it rewards you only give low level blue/green items (like lvl 14 blues and such). I’d really like to complete it, but as long as I don’t know if this is intended or not from an official source, I’m still left with no story completion.
Pretty interesting. While I agree with the posters before me and Charr are purely metal, it does work. I always associate Asura with base heavy music, You should do one with Zojja’s voice
yeah, I went with a deeper electro approach for the Charr, with the darkish melody and such. And well yeah, I’m not a metal artist, eventhough I love metal.
As for the Asura I’m picturing more of a glitch-style music, but definitely more melodic, higher pitched. After all the Charr are like “RAAAARRR” and the Asura are more like “meep”.
I’m planning on doing the other races too though. I originally wanted to do the Norn first, but I went and did the Charr first

I think HS is perfectly fine. It gives thieves a nice flavour (limiting the class even more than it is at the moment would be a horrible decision imo)

I don’t see how it’s harmful to take crit while having this trait, and considering the fact that crit helps Heartseeker spam when the enemy is on low HP.
I agree, the thief feels VERY limited because of only 4 usable weapons. And the fact that shortbow is so useful you always keep it by yourself like 80% of the builds.

so I’m wanting to craft my exotic medium set for my PvE D/D condition damage thief, but I’m a bit puzzled.
I can’t decide between two sets, the Carrion and the Rampager set.
The carrion (chest) gives:
-72 power
-72 vitality
-101 conditiondmg
The Rampager (chest) gives:
-72 power
-101 precision
-72 condition dmg
I honestly don’t know which one to chose. I never really valued defense too much, since thieves rely on evasion a lot. And 101 precision seems really tempting, although the reduced amount of condition damage is bothering me.
Any thoughts/opinions from other more experienced thieves? thanks!
also, I was thinking, what if I run the Rampager set and just take all defensive jewelery? (have 20% on crit to regen initiative traited, and the plus crit also seems tempting for Heartseeker spam)
Or the other way around, taking the Carrion set, and taking all crit jewelery

I’ve heard from multiple people that when you complete your storyline you get two boxes that only contain low level blue items (a lvl 14 blue item for example), which I’m very sure is caused by a bug.
Now I’m very near to the end of my storyline, but I’m afraid to complete the story, because I don’t want to miss out on the fixed rewards. Some people say just complete and don’t open the boxes, but I’m also afraid that it will be fixed by swapping out the box that the storyline rewards, instead of changing the loot table of the current boxes.
Any info on this? Has this already been addressed? I so want to see the end of the story, but this way I just can’t do it.

so for those who’s like electronic music (beside GW2), I’ve made a track using parts of the 3 Charr intros, while waiting for GW2 to be released (managed to finish it just hours before headstart).
It’s a bit of a change from Jeremy Soule’s amazing music, but hopefully you’ll like it.
