And the horns are just two bones sticking out your head. Not what I expected of either! A halo being a ring?!
sticking out of your head??? IT’S FLOATING IN THE AIR kitten . WHY?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY??????
it’s ridiculous….
haha yeah it looks like your character is glitched to be honest
exactly… I’ve been trying to get an official answer on whether it’s bugged or not, but it doesn’t seem like i’m gonna get one… sad
Easy to fix this sorry misdesign:
Make the horn Longer. If you’re wearing a helm, it will look just good, no real clipping issues. If have no helm/hat on, then it won’t float at least. We have “Devil Horn” town clothes anyway ^^
I’d like this idea.
But just anything. Just not what’s ingame… It’s ridiculous…
An official response would suuuuuure be gooood around now…

Would be nice if we got a dev’s response. Even with the “so it won’t clip w helmets” it still seems absolutely ridiculous and stupid… I can’t believe it’s intentional without an official confirmation. And it’d help me choose which one I want.
I’d have assumed it should work like those devil horn town clothes that we got on the very first halloween event (i think). So.. Any official confirmation if this is bugged?
So I saw the horns from the Thoughtless potion… http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/gw2-thoughtless-potion-horns1.jpg
Is the placement bugged? It seems like the vertical axis is off or something. At first glance I immediately thought it’s definitely bugged, but people seem to take it for granted that it simply sucks this bad… Is it like intentionally floating in the air
It simply seems that it’d perfectly fit the sylvari’s forehead on the pic for example if it were lowered. I can’t believe that this would be intentional…
Same goes for the Selfless potion. Obviously it that one isn’t designed to connect with your character’s head, but it just feels awfully high away from our character’s heads. http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/gw2-selfless-potion.jpg Like suspiciously far away, that’s also why I’m asking if they are bugged or not. It just feels bizarre, especially with the horns…
They told everyone that they were leaving. They put a bloody countdown timer on it for crying out loud and if you were to occupied to notice it’s not their problem. I’m sure they will likely be back but for a very short time like when they’ve brought back other items, for only a day or a weekend. But you will likely miss it then too.
If you thought they were so beautiful then why did it take you so long to fork over any gems for it? There were available for four weeks.
This is SOP here, some limited time item finally disappears and two minutes later a post appears bemoaning it’s departure and asking for them to be back. Why? You obviously didn’t feel strongly enough to get it while it was here, what assures ANet that you or others like you would buy it if it returned for, say another week? It’s like complaining you didn’t get a chance to donate to that cool Kickstarter. Limited time means limited time.
I’m sorry, but the countdown said “Available at this price”, not “Available at all”.
I’m very disgruntled that ANet just straight up lied to me. I decided not against buying the skins, as the countdown only hinted at the price going up, so I obviously thought it’d be there today too just at a higher price. But it’s not.
I’ve had it with all the gem store shenanigans. I’m so glad WildStar is coming out soon, I’m done with GW2.
Okay here’s the deal. I’ve changed my original account email to a newer one, because it was on a crappy old SLOW free e-mail service, ‘cause my GW1 account was registered there. So I’ve changed it to a new e-mail a few months back…
But here’s the problem: My e-mail authentications still get sent to my old e-mail, eventhough under my account name here on the site, it shows my NEW account e-mail… I still have access to both, but I’d rather have my authentication e-mails sent to the NEW e-mail, because it’s sooooo slow and painful to authenticate it from the OLD e-mail address.

Just putting that out there
just that one. Unfortunately I think I’m gonna pass over it being a town clothing :c
I wanted to cash in my baubles now, cause I finally made my mind up on which Super skin I wanted, but Moto (the Super Adventure Box vendor) only gives me the goodbye text, no vendor options… Yet it was said that he would be available as a vendor after the SAB closed.
Wish this would be fixed soon…
I hope that now that NCsoft announced that GW2 is getting a new expansion, that we’re going to see Cantha. I really do.
Maybe it’s just me but literally EVERY DAY that play GW2 while ingame I always go “ kitten this would be so much fun if I were playing in Cantha right now…” Somehow the Canthan enviroment was much-much more interesting and immersive for me atleast… I would be incredibly disappointed if we didn’t see Cantha again… So much potential down the drain.
Anyone from EU server that has found a server with snow covered objects ?
I’d like to know this too… I’ve wasted my time by running up and down Wayfaerer TWICE just to realize that it is bugged on both the servers I checked (Desolation & Whiteside)
I’m afraid I won’t be able to complete this until may 12th at this rate…. (Diessa Plateau worked perfectly on Deso btw)
[NA Server]
You can find the snow-covered objects by guesting on Sorrow’s Furnace (at time of post)
The objects are located at #2 #6 #7 on Dulfy’s map.
http://dulfy.net/2013/02/26/gw2-lost-and-found-living-story-event-and-achievement-guide/
Diessa Plateau dirt-covered objects are working on Northern Shiverpeaks.
I’d really like an EU solution too.. I’ve guested to several EU servers, and neither of them had Snow-covered objects……..
Getting real tired if this sh.
As others have said it’s not the same and nor should it be.
Thief short bow can hit a hard armored target (1.9k+ toughness = 3k+ armor) for 1.5k per shot (4.5k if you count ricochets)
If ranger short bow could do anywhere near this they would much rather have trick shot as their #1 rather than crossfire.
If the thief is pure glass cannon, then yes it can crit for 1.5K.
They can, you just have to look at it differently.
A ranger can get 2 – 3 shots off in a sec vs a thief 1 shot per sec. Each ranger’s SB auto can crit for 1K in a Glass Cannon build. Thats 2-3K damage single target with a chance to bleed if hitting from the side/back at 1200 range.
Trick shot should do more damage since it is 900 range.
They increased the arrow travel time on the ranger and the warrior in the December patch. They didn’t buff the thief’s SB; not sure why.
This is exactly my thoughts on it. People neglect the range of the thief shortbow, which really is a HUGE limiting factor, compared to a rangers 1200 range (I’m seriously baffled how ANet hasn’t changed this yet, there were multiple complaints about it around launch) Thieves should be compensated for this huge limiting factor, yet it’s not happening. And on top of that our autoattack feels super slow on the SB… Okay, it bounces, but you cannot count on that at all… (and the damage is only significant IF it manages to crit)
I honestly would like to see SB Improvements by now, damage-wise… Eversince launch I feel that it has it’s uses in the thief weapon arsenal, but it should be much more than it currently is. Yes we have a great combo blast finisher, but the time until that frickin cluster bomb travels to the target takes 10 years!!! (Back in beta, the original travel time felt marvelous, and now this?! I can’t even burn my initiative on it!!)
I don’t think GW2 was designed for the casual player or to be played less. I think it was designed so people can easily have fun in the game with very little hoops to jump through. I actually think we are seeing superior design in this game when compared to the older models we are used to.
That’s pretty obvious, hence the success of GW2 we’re seeing. Honestly, it becomes blatantly obvious when you go back to any other MMO released before GW2. You’ll just go like… “Eugh… what is this even, this was sooo much better in GW2” to everything.
As for your “geartreadmill=best” argument. You’d be surprise how much more people are driven off by having to constantly grind to keep up and even access certain content of the game. Yes, there is geargrind in GW2, especially since the Ascended gear tier has been added, but ANet doesn’t ban you from certain contents of the game because you don’t have sufficient gear for it…
At this point though I realize you’re just a troll, so I’m going to stop feeding you now.
Hahahahahahah. I would have loved to watch you play ONLY Vanilla-WoW for 5 years straight.
That’s a slightly creepy comment, but yeah I played WoW for 5 years straight because the content and end-game progression they had in place was enough to keep me interested until they released new major content.
GW2 dropped off for me pretty quickly after hitting max level.
Yes, you played WoW for 5 years, by buying the expansions. I highly doubt you’ve played at the release of Vanilla WoW. It had half, or maybe even less of the endgame content Vanilla-GW2 has.
Yes I played vanilla WoW, and the 40 man raid on molten core, including the few end-game dungeons was more than enough. You know why? because the progression! GW2 could have a million dungeons, but they wouldn’t fun if there is no extra progression. This is why WoW Vanilla end-game was actually fun compared to GW2 Vanilla.
Jesus Christ, how would it not have any “extra progression”?!?! Every time you run an endgame dungeon in GW2 you progress towards making your character more powerful & cool, and even progress towards your legendary weapon/other craftable weapons that you desire.
Hahahahahahah. I would have loved to watch you play ONLY Vanilla-WoW for 5 years straight.

Just throwing my 2 cents in here because I can. I’m a brony, I actually have the character name “Brony” in game, I’ve been watching MLP:FiM for a couple years now, and I loved the concept of having a legendary bow with a MLP influence. In fact, I was working towards acquiring it… but it’s now over the top. The projectiles are too big and it’s fairly distracting. The Dreamer could be changed in an alternative way while maintaining its MLP influence.
I’d say revert the projectiles back to just the unicorn head like they were, keep the new rainbow stream effect on the projectiles, and add a rainbow trail behind the player similar to that of Rainbow Dash’s. The current projectile is just too big and there are better ways to make it stand out more.
nope no way. Downgrading a legendary is just a nono. People worked for this, don’t ruin it for them. Also it’s no more “distracting” than a Twilight’s slash. And it’s kitten pleasing to watch those unicorns fly imo. Great job ANet, one of the best legendaries sofar! And the projectiles are surprisingly well sized. +1
My unicorns drink your QQ tears.
That’s exactly what you get for rolling an annoying little asura lol
You know who I’m talking about, her smile always catches your eyes too.

So it got me thinking, ANet could easily make her like the icon of the gem-store, since currently there isn’t really a Black Lion mascot/icon/idol whatever you want to call it.
I think she’d be a lovable advertiser of new gemstore items. There could even be like a backstory to her eventually, like being Divinity’s Reach superstar model/idol, you know, like the one who always does charity events, ect. In my opinion it’d still be fitting for the GW2 universe. You know, since we now know that they hold “fancy cat contests” too in DR, I don’t think an idol/model would be out of place, it’s just a little humor. I think quite a few of us would like this to happen.
Also props to the artist, amazing as always. Would love a high-res / wallpaper version of the picture.
You just lost all credibility there, mate. Not only are Warriors undeserving of nerfs at this present time, but Hunters don’t even exist as a class in GW2.
Undeserving??? Warriors are by far one of the most OP classes in PvE if not THE most. It’s DPS along with it’s great survivability just outclasses everyone… Even guardians.
As someone who first leveled a thief, then a mesmer, then a warrior, I was baffled at how powerful a warrior is, especially compared to the thief. I was like “is this a joke? is this serious? I’m not even breaking a sweat, and I’m dealing tons more damage than on any of my other characters, and have no problem surviving.” It’s just reaaalllly out of balance as of right now.
So the Dreamer is clearly the most lacking TWO HANDED legendary weapon, and it got me thinking…
The Dreamer is made out of The Lover. Which has a feather dropping visual effect. Also actual “magical” feathers on top and bottom which even have physics.
Why not give at least a more intense feather dropping effect to The Dreamer? by intense I mean like a trail of feathers. (you know, since the Bifrost got the rainbow trail AND the rainbow footsteps…. ?!?!??!!?!) Cause you basically craft it out of the Lover, why remove it?
(edited by TSLlol.4879)
This bug needs to be looked at as it’s VERY frustrating especially with a thief, THE MOST SQUISHY CLASS IN THE GAME… I basically have to rely on dodging, and this bug could even cause a wipe, since I get 1 shotted so easily in PvE…..
Let me explain to you why you cannot guest on worlds in another region.
There are two databases: European player data is stored in our European datacenter, American player data is stored in our American datacenter. This is to ensure that people in these regions can still properly play in case there is an issue with the connection between the datacenters.
When you do a world transfer from the US to the EU (and vice versa) your player data is transferred from one datacenter to the other. This is not the case with guesting, as you are still “registered” on your home world.
I understand that some of you are disappointed that you cannot guest on worlds in another region, but considering the complexity of internet routing, our main priority is to ensure that players have as much of an uninterrupted game experience as possible, which is the reason why we have two datacenters. On another note: I will try to get an answer to the guild influence question that has been posted a couple of times.
In that case… Just leave EU → US server transfer free without a time limit? It really sucks playing on EU servers in the midnight, while you could be playing on US servers where there’s actually life at that time of day…
IMO, The Dreamer should have the rainbow trail of Bifrost while The Bifrost instead of having rainbow effect, it should have aurora like effect instead. Less dreamy and more mythological. Bifrost + rainbow, lol.
exactly what I thought too! It seems really misplaced on the Bifrost.
I don’t get the seeming universal foot-fetish of players… Does every Legendary need to leave footprints to be special?
not necessarily, I’m just saying that the Dreamer is not on par with the other TWO HANDED legendaries. Like it doesn’t leave neither a rainbow footstep, not a rainbow trail both of which do apply to the bifrost Even a simple Copy+Paste onto the Dreamer would fix this. It’s just very disappointing.
Don’t get your hopes up, OP…. I tried to work with the Mystic Toilet the way you did too, but after reforging 256 l75+ exotic shortbows, I’m STILL left with NO PRECURSOR. I’ve stopped at that point, as it’s just stupid. (and you lose gold rapidly with doing it with ShortBows) Currently I’m prettymuch kittened, cause I have everything except the freaking precursor and I’m at the point of putting the game down because of this. (No, I’m not exaggerating…) And the current price of The Lover on TP just makes me want to throw up (300g+ atm)

Check out the legendary pistol, and you will quickly realize that all legendary skins are not created equal
That’s why I tried to emphasize TWO HANDED weapons. I know a lot of 1h legendaries don’t compare to the 2h ones… (Although the Incinetator still outweighs the Dreamer in terms of effects.)
This is only about 2hand legendaries.
Why does the Bifrost leave rainbow footsteps and not the Dreamer??? I get the whole mythology of the Bifrost but. How did the designer of legendaries come to this conclusion?
I mean come on, the Dreamer honestly isn’t up to par with the rest of the 2 handed legendaries…
I mean compare it to the Predator and Kudzu (which have the least effects of the 2H legendaries)
Predator
-is on fire in your hand
-fires custom projectile
(-which leaves a laser-ish trail)
-pewpew sound
Kudzu
-grass+flower footsteps
-leafs animated on the bow it’s self
-fires leave flower trail
Dreamer
-fires custom projectile
-which leaves rainbow trail
Why?? Will this be changed in the future? I’m honestly very bummed about the dreamer not leaving the footsteps that the Bifrost does (or atleast pulling a trail of rainbow color behind you, like the Bifrost does…) and I’m sure other Dreamer owners are too.
I wanted to withdraw an item from the Guild Bank and it disappeared from the bank, but it didn’t appear in my inventory… (it was a rare l80 heavy chest armor) So I tried another item (luckily just a green rifle) that didn’t appear either…
What gives?! I tried relogging, didn’t work, I’ve been waiting half an hour for them to appear in my inventory, still nothing.
I have high hopes for the scavenger hunt, just saying ^^
Indeed, a lot of us are in dire need of that scavenger hunt… Especially with todays state of the TP…
Hi TSLlol
You can leave the files on BWin7, log into AWin7 locate the Gw2.exe on Bwin7 and run it (or create a shortcut on Awin7 that points to the gw2.exe on Bwin7).If you move the Gw2.exe to Awin7 you also need to move the Gw2.dat (15GB) as well.
thanks, I realized the shortcut I was using pointed to a different Gw2.exe (beta times..)
So I’ve been having this hassle lately, because of my setup. Let me explain:
I have 2 HDDs in my computer, and both have a Windows 7 installed on them. (I’ll just call them “AWin7” and “BWin7”) Why?
Because
-AWin7 is my all around Win7, I have all my music/video editing software installed there, and just generally random stuff that I work with
-BWin7 is for purely gaming purposes. I have run all my games from there, including GW2, so they run fast and smooth without any random processes that may slow it down. It’s only has gaming essentials installed like drivers.
Now my problem is:
I’d like to run GW2 on AWin7 but whenever I click the exe to run it, it thinks that GW2 isn’t installed and wants to redownload the whole 15gb+ of data. And I don’t want another 15gb of data sitting on my HDD just because of this. (the reason why I want to run it from AWin7 is that I want to play the TP while working on music/ect, cause you know… there isn’t really a viable (EFFECTIVE) way to make money by playing the game instead of the TP. And playing the TP doesn’t require that much presence, that’s why I want to work on other stuff while doing it)
So is there a way to make the client SEE that the game is installed when running it from AWin7 instead of BWin7?
“Do you believe players should be immensely rewarded for being able to do the one time event?”.
This was not a relevant question to me. Players get rewarded for doing special things. Whether you’re in a high end guild with a regular dungeon schedule, or just looking to see the special events, excelling at an MMO means sometimes you have to show up at inconvenient times. And it’s appropriate that if you show up, there should be rewards. The two definining characteristics of an MMO are that it’s persistent and it’s social; both persistence and social imply that it doesn’t run to what might happen to be your ideal schedule. You deliberately asked for that when you chose to play an MMO instead of some other style of game.
Many single player games have great save-state editors where you can dispense yourself whatever rewards you feel you deserve at a time convenient to you. This may be the experience you’re looking for – have you tried them?
What you’re saying is currently stupid. While I normally would agree with you, you’re looking past the fact that ANet gave out items of value instead of just cosmetic items. And not even any value, they practically gave out tons of money to a significant amount of LUCKY people.
Look, take AQ gate opening event in WoW. It was the first and most massive one-time event (per-server, okay…) in the history of WoW. What did players get for it? A special mount, which was cosmetic and didn’t give anyone a vast financial gain or power gain.
Another example, take the opening of the Dark Portal when WoW: TBC was released. It was a one time event which only a few players were able to attend. But guess what? No one raged because of that. Why? Because players got a unique tabard and a title which were purely cosmetic!!!
You do not hand out ridiculous amounts of money to a significant amount of players randomly at a one time event! It’s just unthinkably stupid.
Agreed. Besides the fact that people missed out on the rewards, I have an issue with RNG based rewards in general. Especially when it comes to these type of events. For example, while some people got multiple precursors, I got 2 rares, the pendant and a bag that everyone else got. That’s just lame.
The whole RNG thing needs to be toned down. Anet seems to be in love with it.
I highly agree on you on this. The RNG business has taken a turn for the worst. I came to GW2 because I like being rewarded for my efforts, as it was in GW1…
There will be more events, There will be more things like this with increased chances just chill and wait or keep farming dragon chests like most people and use MF gear
See this is the problem. Why make an effort to farm/TP (or keep playing for that matter) when you can earn multiple times more than you would by farming, just for logging on for a 2 hour event? It makes no sense, and discourages people from actively playing.
So if I spent the event time farming four rares, threw them in the mystic forge, and out popped a precursor then that was horribly unfair to you as well? What were the actual odds of a precursor from the event?
I don’t think its the RNG alone that the OP is complaining about (although many people hate them) but because this was also a one time event. This along with the RNG with high precursor drops means many people got lucky and earned vast sums of gold, therefore artificially creating a large wealth gap consisting of the ones who got lucky at the RNG and those who didn’t. And to make it worse, it’s a wealth gap created by pure luck rather than being earned. At least with other RNGs, they even out a bit through farming / rolling multiple times.
thank god, finally someone see’s it the way I do!
" And to make it worse, it’s a wealth gap created by pure luck rather than being earned." <- This is the issue here people… The chance of precursor drops were HIGHER than any other event, you need to understand that. An vast amounts of money was made with barely any effort involved. I put a lot of effort into making gold, then tons of people who get lucky on this event suddenly make the same amount of gold (or more) that I’ve been building up over a few months? Yeah that’s a reason to quit a game.
I am furious about what they did this weekend. I’ve been a dedicated player of GW2 up until now. I’m was also a big fan of GW1. But THIS?! This is just some major bullkitten.
I’ve put tons of effort into making gold, hours upon hours, and I still don’t really have enough to control any market, and suddenly ANet gifts double the amount of gold to random people who probably don’t even need it in the first place? Yeah, that’s a nice middle finger to me, that’s what I deserve right?
This is seriously the reason I finally quit for good. Random players get double the amount of gold gifted to them for a 2 hour event, that I worked for for 3 months?! That’s some major bullsh, no thank you. I’ve seriously not logged on since this event happened, this is a ridiculous kittenup, worse than I’ve ever seen in SWTOR.
I’ve stated this multiple time but I always got flamed by GW2 fanboys. I too say that the way you acquire gold in GW2 is simply stupid.
Not only was GW1 farming skill based. It was rewarding too. You basically get nowhere by farming in GW2. Easy example is today’s case. You farm hours upon hours to get your gold, while someone else attends a 2 hour long event and gets 200g gifted to them in a form of a precursor. Yeah, byebye.
This has been the breaking point for me too.
I can tolerate most of the things OP posted but the breaking point for me is this:
-Luck gets rewarded, not effort
I’ve spent most of my play time (800 hours from headstart to today. also played betas.) on trying to make a profit so I can afford to forge the Dreamer. I just wanna shoot rainbows that’s all. I’ve made 100g during that time with a lot of effort. (I still don’t have the precursor) Now random people who spent even less than half of my playtime get rewarded double the money that I’ve worked up from headstart ’till today just for participating in a 2 hour long event, while I got 2.5g for the same event. Yeh. Thanks but no thanks.
And this isn’t just about todays event. That was just the breaking point for me. It’s been like this all along, I just was able to tolerate it up till now. How could you make a fortune? Get lucky with a precursor drop or get it reforged from the MF, or find an exploit and abuse it. (side note: I’ve reforged 216 exotic shortbows. nothing.) … or be a mastermind on economy I guess.
(edited by TSLlol.4879)
Moving on. The fact that lucky people are rewarded instead of people who put tons of time and effort in the game is just sad, and I’ve had it.
I’ll be moving. Probably AC3, Dishonored, Borderlands 2… Stuff that I’ve been neglecting because of playing GW2. Maybe even gonna pick up SWTOR again now that it’s f2p, I honestly miss it.
I really have no reason to go back to play GW1. It was an amazing game, but it’s had it’s lifespan, great memories though.
Well at least 800 hours is a good worth for your money, imo.
You/others might disagree.
This argument again… Don’t bring this up. An MMO depends on players to keep playing. If effort isn’t rewarded, there is no incentive to keep playing. I’m done with this argument.
EDIT: Oh and before anyone comes up saying “GW2 doesn’t need players to keep playing, no sub, blablabla” → MICROTRANSACTIONS.
cant belive it took you 800 hours to come to this conclusion.
yeah, I feel pretty ashamed of myself that it took me this long. This weekend event was the slap to the face that I needed.
