I wonder whether anyone else might be experiencing something which happens intermittently to my Norn mesmer…(?)
To begin with, all is normal; I run and enter combat with a team. Then suddenly, and without warning, my character slows to a kind of movie “dream-sequence” run… (Imagine Bo Derek and Dudley Moore’s running-along-the-beach dream-sequence in the movie “10” and you’ll probably understand the kind of thing I mean.)
Anyway, as the combat ends and we all start to run to another location, the distance between the team and my Norn widens very swiftly. She is literally going at half-speed, which is noticeable to others, who remark upon it, so it’s not imagination on my part. (It can also happen in solo situations too.)
I have been able to rule out fairly obvious things, such as other people using speed boons. (I have even tried using a speed booster when the slowdown occurs – but to no avail.) It’s not lag (which is totally different) and I’ve even tried using weapons which do not contain sigils/etc., of any kind… just in case they were having any unwanted effect.
The only way I can to restore my Norn to her normal pace, is to either go briefly to EoTN, or log out, then in again. This clears the problem completely…. until next time.
This phenomenon has occurred in many areas of the PvE maps, including the Shiverpeaks, Plains of Ashford, Queensdale…. it doesn’t appear to be common to any specific place. It has even occurred in Fractals, which was pretty disconcerting, because everyone disappeared through a gate before I could even get half-way to it.
I have 5 other chars, but it does not happen to any of them, only my Norn is affected, so wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience – or maybe knows the actual cause?

We’re pretty laid back, and don’t expect members to bind themselves body and soul to the game, there has to be time to dedicate to RL stuff and we understand that. On that note, congrats on your weight loss achievement, that’s awesome! Oh, and I understand the man-crush on Jean-Luc Picard… I’ve had a woman crush on him for years!! Lol Love the Trekkie series… but I digress.

It sounds like you would fit nicely into The Misguided Misfits [LoL] guild. We are on the Piken Square (EU) server, and we have a casual/laid-back player membership rather than hard-core. Yes, the aim is to enjoy the game and have fun.
We are happy to accept any level/Tyrean race/profession and really don’t mind if you are a complete “noob” or a seasoned player. We also recognise that members will enjoy soloing certain things, and would maybe prefer to team-up for others. No problem.

Very well explained I Karnor I. Our guild has recently allied with another and, it really would be such an advantage to be able to communicate on an Alliance tab, as we did in GW1.

Hi there Ash – maybe you’re already fixed-up by now, but, just in case you’re still looking…… there is a welcome waiting in the Misguided Misfits[LOL]
We’re casual, sociable and enjoy exploring the Tyrian world… whether that takes us to nice sandy beaches (yikes! watch out for that Krate!) … or a nice, gloomy cave (oops! what just moved..? It’s large, advancing… and I don’t think it wants to make friends..!)
We’re certainly fans of GW2, but we don’t waste our time bashing other MMOs… or other players. The Misguided Misfits is a place to escape from real-world issues/stress. We’re in this game primarily to enjoy it and have fun.

The Misguided Misfits [LoL] is a PvE Guild on Piken Square (EU). As
the name might suggest, our guild falls into the category of being a
light-hearted place, where the emphasis is upon enjoyment of the game,
relaxation and fun. We’re sociable, but prefer not to get into deep
discussions about (real-life) world issues, etc. Did I mention that
we play to have fun..?
The Guild has been up-and-running since the game went live. It was
founded by two mature friends, (We’re M and F, btw, and both ‘veterans’ of GW1)
Over the past few weeks, we have concentrated purely on accumulating
influence to secure some Guild upgrades. We now feel it’s the right
time to welcome other like-minded, mature people into our community.
We know that life exists outside Tyria, so we don’t expect 24/7
commitment from prospective members. Neither do we mind if you’re a
complete beginner, or a more experienced player. If you’re shy… we
don’t bite.
All Races or professions are welcome – between us, we have mains and
alts which cover each of the Tyrian Races. Our professions include,
Guardian, Necro, Elementalist, Engineer, Mesmer and Ranger, our levels
range from 25 to 80. We also enjoy each of the crafting disciplines.

Heya guys & ANet,
I just thought it would be really cool to give Tailors the ability to craft town clothes. They don’t have to be super fancy, but some of the base NPC clothing skins we see in town would be very awesome! Pretty much anything at this point so we can have some individuality options in town. I understand you want us to buy the pretties from the Gem Store, but I see nothing wrong with having base town clothes available via Tailors and the really cool accessories and costume sets on the Gem Store.
Maybe sell the designs from Karma vendors in the capital cities for the various races; following the themes for the races?
Just a few thoughts to try and improve an already AWESOME game!

This is absolutely brilliant Kestrel, I’d just like to add my thanks too. Your gallery has helped me to locate the armor I’ve been seeking. Your hard work is very much appreciated.
Hi Shaiel, I too am not good with heights, and it was a surprise to discover this impacted on the game. But yes, I have accidentally killed several chars falling off cliffs, etc., or had to waypoint out of situations, where I’ve managed to fall into places which are impossible to get out of lol.
Bad Blood caused me some grief. After being blown off the narrow wall, too many times to count, instead of “fighting to survive” the downed state, in a fit of sheer disillusionment and frustration, I decided to just let my Mesmer die. Unexpectedly, she was rez’ed on the other side. Couldn’t believe my luck, so pressed on.
At the next part of the jumping puzzle, I once again tried, oh so many times, (the falls this time were fairly shallow – not enough to cause damage.) Then suddenly, I found myself in front of the NPC who kept saying “jump through the ring” ….. even now I’ve no idea where that darned ring was… but evidently I must have accidentally found it.
Anyway, after then fighting through a few bad guys, I managed to complete it. It wasn’t very elegant of course, and I just know that others will probably say that it was “easy-peasy” for them. Possibly it’s a tribute to how good the graphics in this game are, that we folk who have problems with heights/balance, etc., find ourselves feeling unsteady on vistas, narrow ledges and so forth.
