Some members of the GW2 community have problems with colour perception, whether due to monitor settings, or colour vision deficiency. So perhaps the addition of different tag shapes, would be helpful?
For example, an exclamation point shape could signify a guild-only, or closed raid; Other shapes – square, hexagon, star, or pyramid, etc., would indicate some other commander-led activities.
I too, would welcome the return of Alpine Maps. Reason? Traveling over the DB map is extremely time-consuming and frustrating when quickly trying to reach an objective. I would prefer to engage in combat rather than running around maze-like structures and canyons.
However, some people like the DB map, so why not use it as a new map for EB or EoTM?
Please reinstate the guild upgrades we worked for and earned, but which were taken from us on the release of HoT.
Please allow us to use Proofs of Heroics account-wide, instead of soul-binding them.
WvW Seasons might help to inject some interest amongst players who are currently feeling a little jaded.
A return to Friday reset has my vote too.
I probably should have added that other guildies are seeing the same effect. (All within the EU, Gandara server, if that helps.)
I’ve only just seen your post Saucermote. Yesterday, I got back into the game (after being away for a week, due to computer problems.) But I noticed that our guild’s History panel is looking broken too.
Our guild name appears in single letters (meaning one letter per line) down the left-hand side:
L
i
k
e
T
h
i
s
^^ just to demonstrate.
As you have mentioned, the other Guild Panels appear to be working as they should.
Yes please, another +1 for bringing back the Alpine map.
So, essentially what you are asking for is a way to have options like “Receive Whispers”:
- From All
- From Friends and Guild Members
- From Friends
- None
This seems like a reasonable feature request.
If Player A is on Player B’s friends list, but Player B isn’t on Player A’s friends list, how does that interaction work out?Would this also extend out to things like mail?
(Please note this does not mean that this will happen, won’t happen, is planned to happen, and or not planned to happen)
Perhaps the fourth (or even a fifth) option could be: “Ask me” so that a message such as: “Playername.1234 wants to whisper you. Accept / Decline?” appears.
Ascended trinkets purchased from the Laurel Vendors are, as most will know, account-bound. This is great, but, would it be possible to make them wardrobe items perhaps?
It would be so much easier to swap them between characters on the account…. even at the cost of a few transmutation charges (which I would gladly pay, for the convenience, though naturally, I cannot speak for others.)
Before anyone jumps on me to say that trinkets can be deposited in the bank… yes, they can. However, players don’t always remember to do this, and sometimes spare bank spaces are a tad limited. Consequently, the folk with multiple alts will sometimes have to log-in and out numerous times, just to find which of their alts has the trinkets they want.
Thanks for reading this.
Hi Glory – just wondered whether you’ve considered using any of the Outfits? The “Shadow Assissin’s” is one that I sometimes use to conceal heavy armor that I don’t like.
+1 …This is a great suggestion Matrh. It would be great not to have spare armor pieces taking-up bank/inventory space.
To all Devs and Players of GW2…
Merry Christmas, Feliz Natal, Hyvää Joulua, Joyeux Noel, Fröhliche Weihnachten, Kala Christouyenna, Zalig Kerstfeast, Buone Feste Natalizie, Nadolig Llawen…
Happy Holidays folks and best wishes to you for a peaceful, happy and healthy New Year.
Only the armorcrafting profession masters sold runes of holding and still do.
I have always been able to purchase Runes of Holding, etc., from Master Leather Crafters and Master Tailors too, not just Armorsmiths.
They have only been “missing” since the most recent patch.
That exact thing has happened to me twice in the past 10 mins. I have no idea why, but just clicked on the button each time, to send the crash details to ANet.
The same thing has happened to me too. I logged-in with an alt, there was a mail and a green star was showing. However, I had not previously done any of the Living World story on her, so that when I clicked to begin “Entanglement” I was actually taken to the very beginning (i.e., the part which unlocks Dry Top, etc.)
I then switched back to the character I’d used to complete Dry Top, hoping to be able to move on to Entanglement… but there was no mail, or star. On joining-up with a friend to do the story, a message appeared at each stage, informing me that it was my friend’s story, therefore I would earn no achievements, or progression.
I tried re-logging, and like OP Jax, my mailbox is not full. Also, I thought I’d read somewhere on the forums, that we would be allowed to progress if we were in a party, simply by clicking to accept or decline to progress, at the end of the event(?) Clearly, I must have misunderstood this.
Welcome back to GW2 nearlight. Perhaps you would be interested in joining us in Brotherhood of the Labyrinth [Laby] on Gandara? We currently have a membership of 100, but the guild is still growing and our numbers are increasing daily.
[Laby] enjoys a friendly, sociable atmosphere, which we are keen to maintain, so that regardless of experience or level, no one ever feels “excluded” or that they don’t fit-in. We encourage members to be active in guild-chat (when they’re not too busy questing, of course) and we also have RaidCall voice comms set up.
If you would like to give us a try, please leave a message here, or contact me in game. Good luck, and thank you for reading.

Hi there Para,
You would be very welcome to join us in Brotherhood of the Labyrinth [Laby] Gandara, EU. Our membership is growing a little each day, and right now, we’re about 80 strong. At this level, people don’t get lost or overwhelmed in a huge, faceless mass, so guildies are friendly and generally talkative in guild-chat.
We welcome all levels of experience, so there is likely to be someone to quest with who is either leveling, or has leveled and is maybe thinking about a legendary. (Congrats on your own achievement of hitting 80 btw, and best of luck with your legendary.)
If you are interested in giving us a try, please feel free to whisper me in game, or send an in-game mail. Hope we see you soon.

Hi Faerun, there is a very long (2-month old) thread about this very topic, here on the forums. I happened to recall seeing it, so Googled. You might be able to contact a few like-minded players from that. Good luck and here’s the link:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Players-Against-Stacking-Skipping-Stuff
In the real world, towns and cities have been rebuilt after suffering major devastation, caused by wars, weather, or geological events. So it wouldn’t be unreasonable for LA to “rise from the ashes” in due course.
Surely with Asura know-how, helped by a bit of magic here and there, a new, (but probably different-looking) LA could once again become a thriving city?
Same thing happens when I close the game too. I see the briefest glimpse of a Serious Error message, which disappears in a flash.
It seems to happen more frequently if I hit the game’s ‘exit’ option, rather using the option to ‘log-out’ first.
Hi Monkey,
If you are still looking for a guild, you might like to consider Requiem of the Dead [REQ] EU Gandara. We are a very sociable, active guild of ~500 members, so there are plenty of opportunities to team-up with others.
We offer PvE|WvW|sPvP|dungeons|Guild Missions|Daily Events|Forum|TS3 and we welcome players of any level.
More information can be found here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/recruitment/REQ-Gandara-Now-is-the-time You can also click on the link in my signature.
Hope to see you in-game.

It’s not often that I delete characters which I’ve leveled beyond 30… but recently I “retired” a male, Norn ele. My reasons were fairly shallow, I regret to say.
Viewed from front and side, he looked fine, but, watching the rear-view animation of him “running” … or rather, lumbering along… became too irritating over time.
His huge feet, always looked as if he was wearing enormous carpet-slippers, and seemed to add to his plodding movement. His hips rolled a bit too much, and looked as if they were trying to burst out of some of the lower level armours. His voice was also just so “wrong” lol. In cut scenes, I kept expecting him to sound like a younger version of Warmaster Forgal Kernsson… but he didn’t even come close.
If I roll another male Norn, I think maybe it will be one who uses heavy armour.
Great idea JDub. I love the chef craft, but with some of the more elaborate recipes, by the time I’ve crafted various other ingredients, I’ve forgotten which dish I was originally going to make. lol
+1 To that suggestion. As we don’t yet have any guild halls in which to hang out, it would indeed be cool to (safely) enjoy some of GW2s amazing scenery, whilst taking a break.
A good suggestion which certainly gets my vote. Inevitably, I tend to lose notes I’ve jotted on bits of paper, so if info regarding crafting disciplines/levels could be added to the UI, it would be very helpful.
What a good idea. It gets my vote too.
I love participating in the invasions, they’re great fun. Yesterday’s took place in Fireheart Rise. It happened early evening (UK time.)
It would be great to have some idea about when the invasions are likely to start – and even better, if there could be a few more of them per day.
My guess, is that having the invasion events pop randomly, is to prevent players from just camping as they did for the Dragon events, etc. But, on the other hand, if ANet could just give us a hint about the times of invasions (not the locations) it would be great.

Some other Guildies and myself are having the same problem. Cannot purchase or sell anything on TP (we’re asked to “upgrade to a full account” despite being long-standing players.) EU Gandara server.
Yes, thanks Behellagh, I’m aware that thieves wear medium armour…. However, I thought might be helpful to mention to Aurion – and anyone else who might be interested – that a light armour version of this shoe-style exists.
Hi Aurion – recently I tailored a set of exotic, light, Exalted armour for my Asuran ele. The boots enclose her toes completely. There are some pictures on this Wiki page to show how they look (scroll down a little.) http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Exalted_armor
:)
I wouldn’t mind some Ninja throwing-stars as an alternative MH…. maybe with a whip OH.
Just in case it helps – I too, had some problems with logging-in yesterday. Also the game disconnected a few times (giving me an “unable to connect to the server” error message.)
At the time, our internet connection did not go down, and we could surf to other websites, but the game (and the GW2 Forum) were not accessible for several minutes each time.
I found that it helped to flush the DNS (although that could just have been a happy co-incidence.)
I’m on the Gandara EU server, and the times (BST) when the disconnections occurred would have been between 14:00 and 15:30-ish. ….Sorry not to be more exact, but I’d been enjoying enormous fun in the Crown Pavillion, so failed to notice in my anxiety to get back again.
Yes please to more pants.
It would be great if female characters could have more pants choices too, in the light/medium armour categories.
@ Raynohr – There are some heavy Heritage Legplates “pants” which my Charr Guardian has acquired.. They look good on him and his tail doesn’t seem to have any issues.. (Discreet tail-aperture takes care of it nicely.
)
That sounds like a very good idea and gets my vote.
It would certainly be very helpful when making dye purchases from the TP too. Currently, it’s not possible to know how a specific dye is going to look, when it’s applied to certain armour pieces.
Oh yes Kor, I’ve noticed this interesting effect too.
I’m guessing it’s really a very cunning and clever Charr ability, used for confusing their enemies. Foe’s don’t know whether their quarry was coming-or-going.
TC
I noticed this for the first time yesterday, when attempting to spend some karma on T1 weapons for my Sylvari mes. (Tbh I held off from purchasing, just in case the weapons turned out to be identical to the thumbnails.)
Just noticed the date of the OP, so this is seemingly an on-going phenomenon. If it’s of any help/significance, I’m on the Gandara UK server.
One possibility, is that your computer might be set to use power-saving options. You don’t say which Operating System you’re using, but in Windows 7 (for example) you can go to Control Panel, then select Power Options.
You will find there are options to turn off the display, or put the computer to sleep after a certain time. I have mine set to “never” … because I really don’t want my desktop to keep going into hibernation, or blanking the display. It might be worth checking your settings, in case this is the problem.
Both recipes are level 75 (Initiate)
You will need 1 each of: Bowl of Poultry Stock, Bag of Flour, Egg, Clam will make 2 Clam Cakes. (Chef level 125 – Initiate) Required level to consume it is 25.

Great idea OP, it gets my vote too.
+1 Here. Like most players, I am entirely happy to fight my way through mobs, but imho, it’s not only “loot” that rewards us. It’s also the “feel-good” element, which (for me) is currently missing.
Having faught and defeated my way through a series of enemy mobs, elation quickly turns into frustration and annoyance, because they’ve all immediately re-spawned along the path/tunnel I’ve just cleared. The sense of achievement is missing.
Vanquishing used to be a pretty popular pastime in GW1, and whilst I accept that GW2 is a very different entity, I’m guessing that quite a lot of us would still enjoy skirmishing with foes who actually stay dead…. at least until the next time we enter that area/map.
Hello Meat… so you think you can shave my lovely, glossy fur, to stuff a pillow do you….? Such impertinence……. however, I shall let it pass, because little Asurans are very tasty – oops, I meant to say – are feisty fighters who are good to carry in one’s snack-box…. Carry, that is, to…er… save their little legs from lots of unnecessary running….
But I digress. Hi there Shaedence
Your post made me smile, so I’d like to offer you a place in The Misguided Misfits [LoL] We are Asura friendly (my Charr Guardian is particularly fond of them, as already stated lol.) In fact, our guild welcomes all Tyrean races and professions, of all levels.
We are mainly PvE, but adventurers are free to explore the Mists too, and some of us might even like to accompany them and gain some experience too. The Misfits are generally quite laid-back and cool about members having real life commitments, so no pressure.
You might like to check out our main thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/The-Misguided-Misfits-LOL-an-Invitation/first#post821497
Hope you’ll consider joining us, but whatever you finally decide, have fun and enjoy GW2.
TC
Hi there Tom,
It sounds as if you might fit-in with us, The Misguided Misfits [LoL] We are a causal, no-pressure guild on the Piken Square EU server. Currently, we have a growing membership of about 21 players.
Personally speaking, like yourself, I too love alts and have five, plus my main (so far!) Ele, Mesmer, Guardian, Thief, Ranger and Necro…. in no particular order. Variety is good and I like to switch around, so in consequence, they are all different levels, from 30-something to 80.
We’re mainly a PvE guild, but some of us are now dipping our toes into other areas of the game, such as sPvP, WvW and an odd dungeon here and there. We are not “into” speed runs though, and are certainly not a hard-core guild.
If your interest has been whetted at all, perhaps you would like to take a look at our main thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/The-Misguided-Misfits-LOL-an-Invitation/first#post821497
You are welcome to contact me in a PM here, or e-mail me in game, if you would like an invite – or want to ask anything.
Thanks for reading, and hope you’re enjoying GW2.
TC
It’s exactly the same for me also. After the first enemies spawn and are defeated, no more enemies spawn.
Hi Sylindria, if by some chance you don’t get fixed-up with a guild on Seafarer’s Rest and you feel like switching to Piken Square EU, then The Misguided Misfits [LoL] would like to roll out the welcome-mat to you and your husband.
If you’d like to know a little more, then our main thread is here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/The-Misguided-Misfits-LOL-an-Invitation/first#post821497
Happy New Year to you both, and hope you’re enjoying the game.
Hi Tarn, yes it certainly sounds like you’ve experienced a similar thing too. If memory serves, the last time this happened to me was at the beginning of December, whilst on my first dungeon run! Very embarrassing… (Of course, being “intermittent” it wasn’t happening every day, just at odd and completely inappropriate moments, lol.) Since then, I’ve been wondering when it would happen again…… but hey, perhaps you’re right about it being fixed!
Thank you!! That thought (…re the possible fix,) has left me feeling a lot more confident.
I so hated the thought that the problem would lead to messing-up a team effort of any kind.
Hi Flubble, thanks for replying. Yes, it sounds like you’re seeing the same thing as me… but unlike you, my slow-down doesn’t fix itself when I dodge
… in fact, I’ve tried just about all available moves, but none have any influence over the slow-down.
I can also go for days without it happening, but suddenly, there I go, doing a pretty good impersonation of Bo Derek again… lol. It actually looks quite graceful…. but really is not good news in combat situations, or for keeping-up-with-others.
Thanks again, it’s good to know it’s not just me.
Hi there SFries, glad to hear you’re enjoying your new game, GW2 is pretty awesome isn’t it.
You would be very welcome to join our guild, The Misguided Misfits [LoL] – it’s still a relatively small guild, so you won’t get “lost” amongst a huge membership. Also, we are happy to accept players of all levels, including those who are new to the game…. like everyone else, we were all noobs at some point, so we’ll not throw hissy-fits if someone needs help with the basics.
Currently, there are Misguided Misfits of all levels and professions, so why not give us a try? We are on the Piken Square server, and if you’d like to take a look at our main thread, it’s here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/The-Misguided-Misfits-LOL-an-Invitation/first#post821497
You’re welcome to contact me either in-game, or you can PM me here if you have questions, or would like an invite.
Thank you for reading, and enjoy the game.
TC
Hi there Kyra,
You are most welcome to come and join The Misguided Misfits [LoL] on the Piken Square EU server. We’re a casual guild and our main priority is enjoyment of the game, so with that in mind, we welcome new or established players, of any profession and level.
A bit more info can be found in our main thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/The-Misguided-Misfits-LOL-an-Invitation/first#post821497 if you think you might be interested in joining us.
You are welcome to contact us here, or in-game, if you would like an invite…. or more information.
Best wishes, TC
The Misguided Misfits [LoL] are certainly not strict and we play on the Piken Square EU server. We’re a relaxed guild and enjoyment of the game is our main priority.
All levels and professions are welcome, so if you would like to know a little more, please take a look at our main thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/The-Misguided-Misfits-LOL-an-Invitation/first#post821497
We can be contacted here, or in-game if you would like an invite. Hope you will give us a try.
