This patch is totally epic. Love the culling enjoyed taking down 80+ viz with 20 of us. We was kinda light tonight after no que issues so alot logged till tomorrow. kitten looking forward to it. Anet pulled it off very impressed now for the skill lag that still shows up at times.

One thing is clear now guilds who will have some balls. Since you do not need commander anymore to run as guild.

And this morning again , sfr moove as 70+ on his homemap , as always ,you can’t do nothing when you are not more than 40.

You want to proof your balls? stop stick each other.

All are blobbing atm, don’t just say “SFR is blobbing blabla”, EVERY server is doing it, Desolation is doing it right now and just now when a Deso blob attacked T3 hills +60 Vizunah transfered from another BL and blobbed up in it to defend.

Edit: few minutes later a SFR blob appears on Deso BL taking Bay then portals away to another BL.

Conclusion: Non-primetime turned in to maphopping blobs. Unless a server develops a solid defense at what they are controlling then most if not all keeps should switch hands in the BL’s during midday (apart from T3 garrisons possibly).

Hey fellow SoS-players! Really cool to see you stuck to SoS for so long.

If you don’t mind doing PvDoor then EU is a viable option, but if you want to face organized resistance then I’d have to say NA is the clear cut option. NA servers have a much larger spread of coverage, Sea-Oceanic-NA while EU servers only has EU. Sometimes there are guilds out nightcapping on EU T1 but they only care about PPT and not actually fighting, usually though it’s just random people, if any people are on even, fleeing at first sight of an organized enemy, so yea, that’s EU for you!

I’ve played on the 2 currently best EU English-speaking servers so if you want more info on how EU is for NA players just PM me.

I do hope you find a good server though that takes good care of you!

i hope this march patch lures our pvers into wvw, otherwise we are always going to be outmanned.

I seriously doubt it. The achievements apparently are WvW-based only, so why would someone who isn’t interested in it in the first place start grinding them?
No scoring change in sight, no correction of the fact that getting more or less anything which isn’t badges is much easier in PvE, zerg-friendly implementations all over the place… I don’t foresee a brilliant future for GW2’s open world pvp system.

It’s more about the psychological gameplay of progressing instead of WvW/PvE split. At the moment there is no sort of (good) progression for an individual in WvW and a lot who play PvE look for that sort of psychological stimuli which they now will add to WvW.

Last night VoTF got the better of us (RiOT) several times. It was a bit of back and forth though, VoTF took us from the rear each time and Deso numbers were much larger than RiOT numbers… but still a lot of fun. Makes up for the time we wiped VoTF 6 times in their garrison a couple of weeks ago. Swings and roundabouts. As long as we are all having fun, dieing is preferrable to running.

6 times? We havent wiped 6 times in total per single night that I can actually recall, let alone against RIOT. Unless you are talking about single people or groups of 5 running around?

Maybe it’s the time when SFR had their whole BL in our garrison at reset and eventually after like 30+ minutes of fighting they pulled off. I remember our commander never died though and we never wiped but we had on average 5 people running back to our group during the fight. Was a fun fight but shame about the lag.

i dont know man, we barely were 10 when we arrived (then might have been 15/20) and started regrouping inside hills, i cut the stream while hitting golem, 30 sec later i went offline and so did most that were left while we were standing at the front of gate walls while you were by the oild.

You ran down to build superior cata(s) and we then destroyed it with our own siege, then you all ran to the treb spot, and when we charged you we killed around 10 people and at least 10 people I saw got away by jumping off.

No one would ever have a 2nd account on the enemy server then use their own guild tag when ruining for that server in WvW, it’s common sense. This is just someone hating Choo trying to give them bad PR.

Anyone else find it funny that EMP claim 1 thing and do another? I mean they claim the score is too close so they don’t fight TW. Yet they fight Agg when the score is much closer now that it has been since BG got here.They claim they don’t want to gvg TW because gvg is not about chest thumping. And then they brag about their gvg record. They claim TW doesn’t give proper respect but they use the videos of their GvGs are recruitment adds. LoL…. I honestly am losing more and more respect for EMP every time they come up with another excuse. Just fight them and get it over with.

As tw not doing gvg against anyone else I have to say I think thats more or less people being afraid of them. I see them offering to set up GvGs all the time but no one seems to take them up on the offer.

At least from what I can tell from the forum, guilds from other servers who have fought EMP have either given them compliments or said they’ve had no issues with the GvG. I have only seen issues arising when they have scheduled or fought guilds from SOR. And seeing the amount of chest thumping posts on the forum from SOR, I may understand why RawNoodles thinks SOR has created a hostile environment in wvw.

About 6 or 7 posts down is a response from Votf who was in SOS when they fought Emp. He pretty much said they had no issues with the GvG vs EMP. JQ and SOS were bitter rivals back then but they were able to do GvG in a respectful manner. Remember, to get respect, you need to give respect.

We never had any bad blood with EMP no, it was all very organized and well managed even though one of our 2 GvG’s was completely out of the blue. I spectated once when they fought against Tsym and the fights looked like they had been set up in a good way as well. Fun thing, that 2nd time that we did GvG against EMP were cause one of their members had whispered teasing our commander after EMP & another guild had killed us 60vs30. No harm in that tho! I myself got friends that I love teasing on Seafarers Rest for example.

I agree with Jerico, I don’t know why you want to GvG next to the windmill on one side and a slope on the other. Rather have an open field!

The current place for GvG’s have become bad as well with so many spectators causing crazy culling issues sadly.

All I’m saying is there was a RiOT member harassing us spectators so much at the windmill that we had to kill him in the end, and a member from Bull told me RiOT had someone interfere, might just be a coincidence but this member seemed pretty intent on causing havoc. I know you felt as though the pugs were joining in, But they weren’t and even desolation guilds who were watching agree’d with us, It was however very messy, With pugs from both servers attacking the Spider Queen Trait point. And a certain SFR player being a pain.

I felt though our gvg fights were even and we deserved to win 3-0, Respect to ex Kaz guild though, You guys are still impressive and well organised even with the guild drama that happened.

I hope we can do it again sometime in a more quiet place with no pugs about.

I wasn’t there but this GvG produced quite a buzz in the community. I was suggesting BULL guys to publish their video and would recommend you (or any spectators who were recording) to do the same so there’s no misunderstanding and no room for rumors. As it stands atm, I believe many Deso guilds will be reluctant in arranging more GvGs with you.

P.S. This post is personal opinion and doesn’t necessary reflect any of Deso guilds official stance. Including GH, since I’m not an officer.

In the video on SFR side you can clearly see 2 VOLT members even finishing Bull members in downed state in the middle of the battle, and Riot had a member there as well harassing us spectators and from what I heard from Bull attacking them in their fight with VcY as well.

Deso had 3+ individuals as well involved in the fighting. One person from a guild with the abbreviation [KG], another from a guild called Moonlight Shadow and yet another from [LoP] (Lions of Persia?) All these 3 people were either downed or finished in the battle(s) by Bull.

^ Very Messy indeed.

Like i said, I only can say what i saw. I spoke with a few VoTF guys who were watching and they said this didn’t happen i didn’t see this as i was too busy focusing on killing bull.

In the end it’s pugs who are getting in the way from a good GvG.

P.S It wasn’t a Riot guy it was RIP guild.

I was one of those people and obviously I in hindsight can see that I missed it. I did not see any people joining in to the fight, but can’t keep track of everyone and looking at the stream later that Bull posted you can clearly see VOLT having 2 members in there.

And the guy I talked to in Bull said a RIOT and a RIP guy had attacked them. I saw the RIP guy in the stream as well that Bull had, didn’t see the RIOT one though but we had a guy from RIOT attacking us spectators a lot, so I suspect he was the one they were talking about.

On average SFR had around 300 each night for the last 4-5 days at 21:00 (GMT+1). Vizunah’s tick is on average for those days at that time 180-200.

Fun to hear there’s another server giving proper opposition to JQ, just hope the focus of servers community leaders on NA doesn’t become stacking more and more guilds on all timezones so you can beat the enemy server(s).

Last Pride & Hup did that great pincer movement yea, completely tricked us leading us in to an ambush.

To Americans saying Euros on your server have no lag: not entirely true. I with 100mb/s when I play on NA on my ele often rubberband when I do my ride the lightning and if I ever try to do updraft directly after my ride the lightning it will always miss because of the increased latency, on EU it never misses in the same situation due to the better latency.

The latency issue is manageable though and won’t decrease your gameplay performance too much, the times I’ve had on NA servers have been fun and worth it.

I’m going to try and explain to you guys why you have lag in T1 now, worse than ever.

I roughly estimate the cap per server for wvw is 300 people, that is 75 people per map on 4 maps. What has now happened is you have two servers at maximum capacity with SoR probably fielding 200 players. Also take into account that theres probably 100 people per server in a que waiting. So you have roughly 1100 people interacting with the server and at any given point while 1 person is trying to connect to 100 others (your own and enemy). This is a huge amount of traffic. Never before have the gw2 servers had to cope with that amount as you now have 2 servers that have stacked up more than HoD was in its prime.

You are going to have to wait until anet either upgrades the T1 servers or changes the cap. Have fun and good luck.

ps. where did votf go to in the end?

75 people per map? PRX alone can get more members than that in to a BL at reset (or used to at least).

And I do not know why several people claim that we went to BG.

We have fought them a lot in the open field in the past, though not in a GvG. This is the only fight I ever recorded against them (& a loooot of randoms)

How can it be fun to play on SEA if you play on JQ? Atm having 3 fully capped BL’s (apart from 1 tower). And we just had 10 people defending our last fortified tower in homeland to 50+ JQ, they built 3 trebs & 4 catas to take it down.

And yet you say this is PvP not PvD…

We can assure you we have no intention of going back to EU any time soon.

Good server which the “medium server” is a testament to, it holds firm against other very high/full server. Only thing it lacks to rule EU is guild(s) who help in non prime-time.

2-3 resets ago we wiped two times, both times because an enemy guild had hid behind terrain. We don’t call that abuse of culling, we call that smart play! Hell we encounter that every day, today on our homeland we were at the same southeast supply camp pictured here on Desos side, and they had 30+ people hiding behind a house on the opposite side of the camp. It’s a completely valid tactic…

Ok guys I have enjoyed this WvWvW and had some great fights. But when myself and at least 3 others took on a solitary Ganking thief and did NO, I repeat NO damage and then he suddenly jumped up a wall onto a ledge at mendons, I asked myself is there any class that can do this? No it must be a hacker. Spoils what is a good matchup and I know all servers probably have their fair share but that still does not mean it is acceptable.
I hope the guild “BANE” from Viznuah will take the chance to weed out the skilless individual. Screenshot below

In what way do you mean a ledge? Since thieves can use their shortbow #5 skill and get up on ledges a lot of times. Not exactly hacking.

In these fights a lot comes down to discipline in the members and organizational skills by the leader(s), it’s very fun and the huge fights get your adrenaline pumping more than the small ones, at least in my case.

Indeed this was fun yesterday, we got wiped a few times indeed; 8 is a strange calculation though, and you obviously forgot the “few times” you got wiped @ 20vs40 :p

Actually it was a very good training for us to fight 20-25 vs X (X mostly being between 40 & 70, I doubt that you will contradict that), so thank you to have brought all your guild to the battlefield (+ PRX + pick-ups as a shield sometimes :ppp, just “kiddin’”), that was quite a bit of a challenge.

Anyway, thanks & gratz to VoTF to have brought tough fights in EB, this is how we continuously improve our gameplay.

In a few fights at the start we did have quite a few more people than you thanks to randoms following us, we try to avoid having randoms following us by not using commander icon in situations like these but they still caught up. And are you implying we got wiped 20vs40..? That time Quentin lake when we were less than 40 and we lost 10 people at the gate (& you ambushing + cannons firing + VS randoms on wall) while rest retreated to the south camp wasn’t a complete wipe

Shame you stopped streaming though after the score was 8-1, after that your numbers increased by a lot and we got very even fights. We lost count then of the score because of so many fights.

Hoping for more fights in the future, but would be nice to not have it in EB, too many people on so small areas!

Tonight in Seafarers BL, a member of a highly well known Elona guild tried getting a mesmer inside our very upgraded Garrison by using glitching/cheating/immoral play/whatever you want to call it. Thankfully a person on our server saw this so I went there to record… Here is the uncut version:

They don’t jump off until a member in my guild start attacking them up top.

Edit: After having a talk with a member of the guild that was there I’m inclined to believe that this was an act of stupidity and that there were no harmful intentions when they started doing it. Though those intentions could of course have changed if they actually managed to get in.

Had a lot of fun tonight in Elona BL while defending Bay (we had bay which was on Vizunahs side). Had 3 outer walls down, 2 in the south where Vizunah came from and 1 in the north where Elona came from.

Elona put up 2-5 trebs x3 times on the inner north plateau (we went up and destroyed them each time after we wiped them in lords room). And Vizunah put up up to 4 trebs in the south outer to fire on inner. In the end both walls and the gate at inner was down and we kept being bombarded by trebs from all directions and we went back and forth and wiped enemy zergs. A lot of fun and stressful! Eventually a huge Vizunah blob overran us though after Elona had given up.
