I’m on FA and have also seen this myself.

While I have no doubt this is just a couple bad apples from TC or YB and do not in any way represent those servers as a whole, Arena.net really needs to get its act together and figure out ways to stop a couple bad apples from ruining the gameplay of thousands of people.

Suggestion:

Let everyone take down two siege machines per day.

A single griefer could do only limited harm. A crowd of well intentioned people could quickly and easily undo these silly siege machine farms that keep sprouting up in useless places in our BL and EB.

Until this happens, just about the only way you could fix this is to team up with a stealth group from the enemy forces, let them into your base, help them get to the siege weapons and destroy them, then kill them so they can safely port back to base.

It could be an impromptu police force – and it would go a long way to undoing the damage, because the griefers would effectively be costing their side several good, honest players who are competent enough to do their job.

Call them Siege Cops.
Partly because that sounds cool.

…It is indeed s a shame that dominance in WvW isn’t primarily determined by how you fare during your own peak hours, but by how well you do during your enemies’ offpeak hours…

That’s actually a very realistic approach to battle.

Free World Transfers: Limited to Once Every 7 Days

I have a question.

Now that there is a 7 day cooldown on transfers, has this increased or decreased the number of transfers?

I suspect the number of transfers has increased, because it seems like the opposite effect as daily valuation had. When people had the ability to change their 401k plans on a daily or hourly basis, they actually made much less transactions than they had previously, because they were more confident in their investments.

Now, I look at the server browser and I see that all the servers are either high pop or full, and I clearly have to check back in on a regular basis to even get a shot at playing on the same server as my friend now, because he snuck into a full server and now I have no shot because I can’t transfer to a full server.

I’m seeing the same principle at work. Perhaps I’m not the only one.

Only used when below 50% health?!?! That’s crazy, you can’t put a restriction like that on a weapon skill, those are not meant to be situational.

with regards to playing against thieves like that, feel free to inflict blindness or weakness to really put a damper on them, or go ahead and just kill them, because thieves that focus on massive damage usually end up eating dirt fast if they get hit in the face.

Pets and Dungeons: Downed so often they are useless?

Be aware that other classes also feel that pain on bosses. A minion master necro can lose 100% of their offensive power to a single aoe in a boss fight. Although they can resummon those minions, oftentimes that means spending the rest of the fight channeling summons whenever they’re available, dropping a healing well (because the blood minion is crap!) and maybe getting a single swing in with a weapon – probably a bit more harsh than losing just your pet and spending the fight pew-pewing away. After all, you still get your utility skills.

It stems from the dungeon difficulty, not the frailty of pets. think of it as your loyal friend bravely taking one for the team, and it’s not so bad.

Though if you want, I can animate that dead moa for you…

Death Shroud

if that aoe “life” drain isn’t doing it for you, try transfusion so that it heals all your teammates.

though it really is good.
Also it’s important to note that you get not only a chill effect but a teleport out of your 2, and a fear (or aoe fear underwater) out of your 3. the fear doesn’t do much at all unless you’re in a dungeon and need to tick away at those cc immunities that bosses have. you can clear the way for a powerful stun by hitting the fear when the boss has a stack of cc protection shields up.

axe/dagger’s my main weapon equip, staff is secondary.

most pve content is fine with minions, but being able to use death shroud, dodges, and wells/minion aggro to max effect is far better.

I’ve been able to practice until I get to the point where my cooldowns aren’t cooling all at the same time. Necromancer gives you all sorts of options from various sources, and using them all is very difficult.

be aware that your death shroud skills augment your other strategies immensely.

It must have been hotfix-nerfed to being abysmal because it looks like a placeholder effect.

They’re really terrible and do nothing more than let you listen to your character say
“Arise, my minioNOOOO I HAND RAISED THAT MINION!”
“It started out as a corpse, and now IT LIVES!”
(overlapping voice effects, from minion death and minion creation)
